The hotel was really comfortable and attractive and the welcome by Cyril at the front desk and his ongoing help was outstanding. No
Furnishing of room was adequate and very cleqn and good size. It was near enough to points of interest; sights in the old town, preferred restaurants and marche. Private parking avaiable at decent price. Chateau de Challanges, ouside Beaune, was a much better value for the same price.
The staff was really amicable and helpful. When our child got sick during the night they helped us find a doctor and pointed us to an open pharmacie. The breakfast was a bit pricey and no cheaper alternative.
Very good service, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable rooms.
Comfortable room, easy access to garage and secure parking so we did nit need to unload major suitcases
Excellent location and very clean hotel. Staff very friendly and breakfast was lovely. The beds were very comfortable. None
The Room Smelt Damp amd unpleasant
Quiet location but close to the centre of Auxerre. Breakfasts were substantial with a good choice. directions to the hotel were too vague and led to us and other guests we spoke to, getting lost in Auxerre
no where to eat. room service only
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The beds are very comfortable
Great location, close to town and near restaurants, bars etc. Paying €7 for car park and bath very slippy - had to use a towel to stand on for fear of falling in bath.
Everything! THe pool was great! I liked everything, tho breakfast (which I didn't eat) could be a little less expensive.
Very friendly welcome from the owner - genuinely nice to our children - and very comfortable family room. Interesting gardens.
This is a first rate hotel located within a five minute walk from the town centre. The room was beautiful and the staff very courteous and helpful.
It was a perfect location with walking distance to the centre of Auxerre. The staff was helpfull and the room was quite big.
Very convenient for the town and easy to find. Parking on site and English speaking staff who were both friendly and helpful. Our room was very dark; dark furnishings and energy conserving light bulbs which, whilst admirable, meant that we had huge difficulty in finding our way round the room. Finding clothes in the wardrobes was nigh on impossible!
Quality of the food and wine, courtesy of owners and staff, delightful breakfast. A little difficult to get from carparking area to front door with baggage.
The hotel staff was very pleasant. The swimming pool was a wonderful fringe benefit at the end of a long and very hot day. There was too much furniture in the room (Superior).
The location was good as a convenient one night stop over point from Calais to the South of France and they offered a Family Room for 2 adults and two children. It was somewhat confusing regarding the evening meal. They did not have a Restaurant as such but one could order a meal at Reception to be seved either in the Dining Room or on the Terrace or in one's own Room. The 'Waitress was a Trainee and that added to the confusion. Some guests were unaware of the procedure and waited in vain for a Menu at the table and failed to be acknoledged by the trainee waitress.
This hotel reeks of Napolionic History, just my style!
Pleasant, helpful reception.
The location, at the city downtown. Ideal for 1 nigh stay. The cleaning of the room was not good.
friendly staff, close to auto route and within walking distanceof restaraunts possible to have breakfast but not evening meal
Convenient as midway point for journey to and from holiday. Family room availability. Lovely swimming pool and sun terrace. No
The hotel was fine - for me, just somewhere to stay for a night near the autoroute - but what I really liked was the staff - they noted I was a woman travelling alone, and they gave me an upstairs room at the end of the hallway so no one would disturb me (there was a large group of men staying there at the same time.) I thought that was extremely thoughtful.
It's nice hotel, very friendly
Ability to wander freely around the grounds; the bed was absolutely magnificent; the food was some of the best we've had in years. There is a rooster! Fair warning. The pillows could use to be a little softer, too. That being said, we still slept very well.
The smooth excellent service, the delightful ambiance, the well appointed comfortable room, the superb dinner.
Fantastic location Very expensive, restaurant astronomically expensive, food was good quality but pretentious. Room decor dated and bathroom smelt of damp.
It was enchanting!!! The place was a beatiful castle, the food was exelent. I didn´t wanted to leave. We had a great memory of that stay. no
The staff was welcoming and made us feel special. The grounds were beautiful, and we enjoyed the wonderful fresh food from your garden, prepared expertly. The dogs, geese and ducks and the entire setting took us back in time and we felt pampered. We were in France for almost three weeks, had 7 hotel and chateau stays and this was one of our very best experiences. Our two dinners were better than the three star Michelin restaurant we went to in Paris (and a far better value.) Our room decor was not quite as charning as the public rooms but it was large, quiet and very comfortable.
The staff were very friendly, particulary Sam. The food was fantastic quality. The grounds were lovely. Hated the decor. We were originally put in a Deluxe Room "Noyers", the decor was hideous. We then moved to a "Suite" called "Irancy" - even more hideous. The pictures were crooked, as were the lights. The wallpaper was this disgusting gold, furthermore the doors were wall papered over to give the illusion they were not there - who does that!! The rooms are in serious need of renovation. Also, the claim to be "child friendly" hotel. We went with our 16 month year old daughter, and I had to watch her every minute in case the roaming dogs and/or birds attacked her. It was not relaxing at all. Additionally we were paying top dollar for this hotel room, and I can honestly say it is the ugliest room I have stayed in. a total rip off !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent service, grounds, and dining by the fireside.
Relaxed family mansion feeling with excellant food and pleasent attentive service. Historical surroudings with an extent of self sufficient gourmet food production in a delightful country location. No complaints
the chateau itself, the rooms, the restuarant, the fireplace in the restaurant, the food and the staff... so pretty much everything was good. but all this put together, plus the birds, the sheep, the vegetables garden, and of course those ancient walls create a great ambiences (something like travelling back in time).
It was surprisingly nice interior, ver well presented and comfortable. Internet access. Adequate buffet breakfast. When we initially saw the outside of the hotel, which is old, we were a little worried, however, we discovered later the exterior was in keeping with the history of the area. Parking at the rear for a fee. We had booked the hotel as a overnight stop only. However, we visited the tourist information centre about 50 metres down from Hotel at the suggestion of the receptionist. We did a free walking tour following "Cadet Roussel's" plaques set in the footpath and discovered very interesting facts about this interesting historical town. We drove out along the River Yonne and viewed the locks where to canal boats pass through. Liked it all. Well situated across from River Yonne. Not a fantastic view but given the history of the city and the River it was wonderful to be part of this town.
Location, polite friendly staff, very comfortable kingsize bed, cleanliness, good buffet breakfast, 24 hour reception service, view over river. If stay had been longer than three nights, would have appreciated more drawer space in room.
Attentive and helpful staff. Comfortable room. Nothing
location, comfort and cleanliness of lobby and room, free internet access in lobby, nice parking facility
The friendly reception staff . No
Auxerre is worth the trip, historical monuments, fine food, nice country side and do not forget to visit the tourist bureau very close to the hotel, to expand your activities. Please write at least 15 words
Our first night in France and this hotel was part of the memory. Beautiful old hotel in gorgeous setting. Wonderful nighttime photo. Thank you.
Staff were excellent. Lack of parking facilities, especially for disabled people.
Excellent breakfast. Lovely views from our room which was very comfortable.
Staff were extreamly friendly and helpfull. centrally located and easy to locate.
Staff was excellent. Room was spacious with a good bathroom. Everything was excellent.
Comfortable room in attractive building with lovely views, friendly and helpful staff, nice breakfast Rather noisy plumbing
A little dated but comfortable hotel.Good sized room. Restaurant shut on Monday nights. Also menu was quite limited.
The food was excellent although a daily change in the "amuse bouche" would be appreciated. Bathroom was very small.
The hotel is beautifully situated at the center of a very lovely old village. The hotel itself has a lot of charm and atmosphere. The restaurant is exqusit. The room was somewhat smaller than expected. We did not at all appreciate that they allowed dogs into the restaurant.
The small town of Vezelay is a "must see". Being half way from the channel ports to the South it makes a convenient break in that journey. Hotel has a good garage at modest cost & this fact alone sets it apart from most in France.
Good situation in Vezelay Very old decoration for rooms and restaurant.Hotel needs a complete revamping. Paying parking.
in an excellant position for exploring and walking in avery nice town..hotel hassuper restaurant small room and tiny ensuite with a noticable smell of poor drainage
The Hotel is a typical French grand hotel, it looks nice and is reasonably comfortable It was too expensive, breakfast particularly
Loved the room, the view from the room, the town, the weather, the fireworks, the cleanliness. The wine list was very expensive.
From a less welcoming location the day before this was a transformation. This is a working wine producer and provides rooms that are more functional than luxurious but there was a welcoming comfort, wine tasting and rustic food that will guarantee a return. And really good value. Couldn't stay longer!
Great atmosphere, food & drink at dinner. No frills but good value
Excellent kitchen, great staff and good beds. We really enjoyed the stay.
Great hospitality, lovely location, great wine No non-meat option for the evening meal, was a shame
The setting was very good and the wine cave tour / wine tasting was excellent. The evenng meal was beautiful french fair Whilst we had a great meal / evening it is B&B style, not your typical restaurant. You eat with everyone else
Excellent food, with fabulous staff. Very good price and certainly highly recommendable. Everything was good.
Pool area. Relaxed atmosphere throughout the property. Friendly staff. Generous amount of Domain Wine included as part of the evening meal. There were no bad points.
Although I made a mistake in my booking date, the owners did all they could to organize two rooms and three dinners for us. We stayed in the Gîte and we liked it so much that we think about coming back next year. The food and wine were very nice too.
The very remote location was a blessing and the family who own the vineyard were very friendly
The restaurant was superb - an absolute gastronomic treat, with a good local wine list. The bathroom (in particular the bath) was not as clean as it could have been!
Direct access to the garden from the room. The swimming pool was fabulous, very clean, you can order drinks to be brought to the pool. Although next to a road it was very quiet and peaceful. Room was large and clean. Cleaning everyday was quick and efficient. Liked being able to park the car outside the room, lots to unload!! Staff very attentive whenever you wanted anything. Very overpriced, 5 euros for a cup of tea (no kettle in room) and it was served in a chipped teapot, cappuccino served in a brandy glass - too hot to pick it up to drink it - all a bit pretentious. 13.50 euros for a standard breakfast was too much, and flies on the cheese. Can't comment on restaurant as we didn't eat here, nothing on the menu appealed to us. The bath was an old enamel bath - not inviting at all and nowhere to place soap, shampoo etc when showering. Paintwork chipped, pictures on walls slipping in frames making the room look more tatty than it should have been. This hotel could justify the price if it just got some of the basics sorted.
State of the room does not live up to the advert, however the restaurant is pretty good.
Lots of excellent facilities easy to find First stay with Logis was hoping to stay in an old traditional hotel rather than a modern motel
Arrived very tired late at night with small children. Reception staff very welcoming, helpful and friendly. We had a garden room, which was like a little chalet opening out onto a large garden. Nice for the children. Thought breakfast was a bit pricey. For the children it cost 8.5 euros, and my son only ate half a croissant. However, it was convenient as we were straight back on the motorway very early and we were all fed.
Pleasant friendly and helpful staff,
Nice surroundings and excellent food and breakfast. Dinner is recommended! We chose this hotel because of the swimmingpool facilities and because it is near Vezelay which is a must to visit.
Excellent catering No tea or coffee facilities in the room
Hotel was quiet and room very comfortable & clean. Nice pool & tennis courts and lovely grounds. Handy for Avallon Dinner and breakfast were very expensive and as a result, we didn't eat in
Huge room for European standards, with a tub which was a treat. It is right on the main road. We had an amazing dinner in the restaurant, but did not eat breakfast due to comments of it being expensive and only continental. Good hotel, and one I would recommend. No ketel in room was about the only complaint.
The proprietor was friendly. Restaurant pricing was reasonable, and the restaurant service was good. The toilet bowl was stained dark brown, which is unacceptable. The room was cold in May. The room was tired and required deodorising.
Etap is better value for money
Located just of the Autoroute, was convenient, practical and the staff friendly. The rooms were standard campanile as was the food. Disappointed that the room drinks facilities were well below standard. Not sure it was twice the value of the cheaper chains.
- L'odeur insupportable de la chambre et de la salle de bains
The staff were very pleasant and helpfull. It was very conveniently located off the autoroute.
Standard Campanile - predictable and good value. Based on just one meal, the cuisine is below par - my salmon was very over-cooked.
airconditioned for summer, pretty gardens, well presented breakfast not close to any resturants, especilly Monday and Tuesday nights
Clean, quiet, nice landscaping Rooms very small, basic.
This place was really odd. No windows that opened; not a great location for anything and just weird. It was expensive considering what else we found afterwards.
The pleasent place.
The owners were nice and one of them spoke English. It was nice to have a terrace of one's own and air-conditioning in the room. There was only one restaurant at walking distance (11 min) but luckily it was excellent serving (French style) Greek food, and the hotel personnel kindly reserved a table for us. The hotel is very well sign-posted and easy to find. The room was small (with too much furniture) and the toilet+bathroom combination was an open-at-the-top kind of closet that allowed all toilet noises to be heard in the room and made the room very humid after showering.
nice flowers around the motel 60ies style cubicle bathroom with poor shower and no sound isolation between rooms
Friendly proprietors, Wi-Fi, loc\tion
the turist service by the hotel staff
Room was small, bathroom was tiny and breakfast was adequate.
Pleasant staff/management Rooms quite adequate for a very short stay.
