Pros: Excellent hosts, breakfasts and clean facilities. Extremely helpful to us in finding places to eat and visit. Overall, the hosts made us welcome with their warmth yet efficiency in managing our stay.
Pros: Immaculately presented chambre d'hote. Warm, generous and engaging hosts. Quiet location, a short ride from Vezelay. No restaurants within walking distance but Anne-Marie offers a short menu of salads and drinks if you prefer to eat in. Comfortable bed, great shower, tasteful decor, windows armed with insect netting so you can have them open. Spectacular breakfast - we have never seen such a spread! Secure storage available for bikes.
Pros: From the welcome on arrival, through the quality of the accommodation, to the excellent breakfast, everything about the Repos Coquelicot speaks of quality, and attention to detail. Outstanding.
Pros: Everything! The facilities were excellent.
Pros: Spotlessly clean room, decorated nicely with a very comfortable bed and an excellent shower. We could not have asked for more. The breakfast was not only delicious but also served with so much style and the company of the other guests and the hosts made it a genuine pleasure.
Pros: A dreamy destination. A wonderful experience. A beautiful old house turned into a magical oasis: from the garden to the rooms, everything is incredibly beautiful, tidy and clean. The owners are super nice, a 100% available and the breakfast is the best one we;ve ever had in a bed and breakfast. We are very grateful that we found such an amazing place and we highly recommend it.
Pros: Thank you so much for this relaxing weekend. The owners are amazingly kind and they do their best to make you feel home. The place is beautiful, 200% clean and you can feel and appreciate the peace, love, hard work and effort behind. Breakfast was simply delicious. They also offer a spa service massage so you can have a full relaxing package. The area is also beautiful and really nice to discover. Highly recommended
Cons: We loved everything
Featuring free WiFi, Gîte de Fontenille offers accommodation in Fontenille, Brosses. Free private parking is available on site. Some rooms feature a seating area for your convenience. You will find a kettle in the room. Extras include free toiletries and a hairdryer. A flat-screen TV with satellite channels and DVD player is featured. Clamecy is a 25-minute drive from the property while Auxerre is 39 km from Gîte de Fontenille and Avallon is 22 km away.
Pros: Charming English-french country ambiance, cozy rooms with all that is needed and some extras (you don’t see a fridge in B&Bs often, as well as British TV). We especially appreciated to see our national flag over the house, that was really touching!
Cons: Nothing to complain!
Pros: Plenty of room. Had shared bathroom to myself due to vacancy.Rural atmosphere featuring fields and forests.
Cons: Nothing hosts could do about the lack of a restaurant nearby. Breakfast could offer more choices including fruit.
Pros: All!!Thanks to Martin and Ann for the wonderful welcome. The house is lovely in a very quite village. Breakfast was rich and delicious. We felt like at home. We hope to have the chance to come back again!!!
Pros: Warm hospitality of hosts.
Cons: Unexpected extra heating charge not in pre-paid total of Booking.com. Felt cheated by this. Amount not large, but the principle is that all charges should be explained clearly and in advance.
Pros: The hosts were wonderful. We got a puncture. They went beyond what was expected to help us sort it out.
Pros: Our host and hostess where very pleasant and welcomed us warmly, freely chatting with us and making us feel at home. Rooms were comfortable and being Americans, we loved the English speaking TV that was provided. The internet service was as good as we required as well....I'd stay here again and recommend it to family that wanted an escape to rural Burgundy! Thank you so much for having us....:-)
Cons: We had no issues..........:-) (A country omelette would have been a nice touch!!)
Pros: From the moment we arrived (late), Martin went out of his way to make us feel at home! He hoisted a South African flag, took time to show our children his newly hatched chicks and even produced a cream that healed our boy’s swollen foot from an insect bite a few days earlier. Dinner reservations, directions, comfy beds and a wonderful breakfast were all a part of this lovely experience! Martin and Ann’s B&B is simply lovely and immaculately clean - it will be our usual stopover for years to come! Thank you to our wonderful hosts.
When you stay at Chambres d'hotes Les Coutas in Mailly-la-Ville, you'll be 11 minutes by car from Caves of Arcy-sur-Cure. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: We loved our short stay here, it is run by a very young couple who work hard to provide a quality service to guests, the rooms were lovely, a very comfortable bed and great shower and the shared communal areas are a bonus. I booked this because meals were also available on-site and we were staying the Sunday and Monday nights, but did not expect such a lovely restaurant and bar, also run by the owners. The food was very good and very reasonably priced. The main picture does not do justice to the accomodation it is far better than pictured. The canal nearby adds to the ambience of the village.
Cons: Information was available in the communal area about the local area but perhaps some information in english would be helpful to some travellers as there is so much to see and enjoy in the area.
Pros: The B & B business runs alongside a restaurant/auberge and a charcuterie (pork butcher and cooked meat shop). We had a very good meal at a modest price, although there was very little choice.
Cons: Breakfast was fully adequate but, not surprisingly as this was a small establishment, there was not a full buffet. Extractor fan in toilet seemed not to be working.
Pros: This is a lovely place to stay, with a nice communal / kitchen area and an attractive courtyard where you can sit and enjoy a drink or meal. The menu du jour was excellent, and reasonably priced. The owners were very friendly and looked after me really well. Breakfast was spot-on.
Cons: Some satnavs (mine included) get the location wrong. If you find yourself near the station, you're in the wrong part of town. Les Coutas is on the fork in the road at the south end of the village. Look for the blue gates next to a shop front. The room was a little basic, but it was a good size and perfectly comfortable.
Pros: The property is located in a small, quiet village and the popular restaurant downstairs makes it lively, but without getting loud. We arrived late and had drinks, including some local wine, that was good. The family room was spacious and very clean. The breakfast offer was great and includes some delicious fresh bakery products: croissants and bread. Simple and good value for money. Vezelay and other places of cultural interest are not far off.
Cons: I'm a light sleeper and was awoken very early by some tractors since the property is right next to the road - the kids slept through this though
Pros: hOSTS WERE YOUNG THEY HAD ONLY OPENED IN MAY, NOTHING TOO MUCH TROUBLE.cLEAN AND FACILITIES EXCELLENT EVEN A COMMUNAL KITCHEN WHERE YOU COULD COOK YOUR OWN FOOD ALTHOUGH HOTEL FOOD WAS EXCELLENT AND CHEAP A 3 COURSE MEAL FOR 15 EUROS, THERE WAS IN THE KITCHEN FREEBIES , BEER ORANGE JUICE JAM COFFEE TEA , AN HONESTY BOX IF YOU WISH TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE COST. OVERALL SUPERB AND THE VILLAGE BY THE NIVERNAIS WATERWAY WAS DELIGHTFUL
Pros: The location - along the Voie Verte of the Canal de Nivernais - part of the cycle tour of Burgundy is excellent, only about 50 m off the cycle path and very near the small convenience store. The common area has a very well equipped kitchen for guests to prepare their own meals - all sparkling clean. The owners will soon have a restaurant opened in the adjoining building and we believe this will be a useful addition. Our room was spacious, clean and the bed was comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and exploring the area on our bikes.
Cons: ? Nothing.
Pros: Very cute place with the excelllent owner. Huge plus - fantastic food servered for lunch and dinner just downstairs. Nearby is a great long canal pass for walking or biking.
Pros: Loverly location close to a river and canal. Great qwerty nature to the room layout and a common room stocked with basic items that works on a trust system.
Cons: For motorcycles the parking is across the road and down a slope to a carpark that is a little secluded. Still perfectly safe though during visit
Pros: Superb accommodation, lovely well organised staff, warm friendly hospitality. Superb cuisine..lovely host, attractive decor Very secure storage for our bicycles
Pros: The evening meal was excellent !!

Guests at the bed and breakfast can enjoy a continental breakfast. Les rêves d'Angèle offers a terrace. Cycling can be enjoyed nearby and there is a storage area for motorbikes and bikes at the property. Auxerre is 34 km from the accommodation, while Avallon is 45 km from the property. Private secured parking is available on site.
Pros: Pascal, the owner, is what makes this place special. He's charming and very welcoming.
Pros: Pasqual was an excellent host-although no beer and the breakfast -from an ex cook was superb .
Cons: The attic room , although newish , was difficult to access and not comfortable for a couple of active pensioners . We considered the 9.4 rating unbelievable and the offer overpriced by 33% . Distance from motorway was also a problem .
Pros: Hosts are lovely and very attentive. Instantly felt welcomed and at home upon arrival.
Pros: - Amazingly friendly owners - Beautiful rooms and garden - Loved having breakfast with other guests around the table - Everything was very clean - All facilities we could want - Lovely breakfast
Pros: Very nice house with quiet and very clean rooms
Cons: Croisant with breakfast
