9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, exclusive and quiet accommodation located in the Mlilwane park. There are only a few rooms and the staff went out of their way to make us comfortable and serve great dinner at the fireplace outside. We stayed in the two rooms in the cottage (red and green room), which have a living room between them and the cottage has a veranda with deck chairs all around. Quick drive to Mlilwane's main camp, from where you can do all sorts of activities.
Cons: The double bed is not so big (1.40 m ?), but this was not a problem for us.
4.3 Okay
Pros: This was a poorly run operation with local staff left to their own devices and the result was poor food with all guests eating the minumum. Breakfast was ok.
Cons: We wee allocated a room with a tiny so cakled doybke bed. Has we not objected to strangers wiuld have been houses alongside in anithe bedroin whose joint access was theough a common liungevarea. The bedrooms were tiny.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location was great, the staff, diner around the fire and of course, feeding the bush babies!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This is a gem in the middle of Swaziland. The gardens are magnificent. The facilities are luxurious and well maintained. The staff are brilliant.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Peaceful and friendly
Cons: All was fine
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This is a charming residence in a unique location. It is possible to experience wildlife safely on your doorstep and on walks or driving within environs of the sanctuary. The place is full of history and feels right. Truly a magical place to stay.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike but you have to accept that it is not a sophisticated hotel. It is a safari lodge.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The setting, decor, staff, breakfast and dinner settings are excellent. The food was ok. The staff was wonderful and helpful in booking activities in the park. The gardens and hiing the trails around the property are beautiful, as the scenery.
Cons: Accessing the property is a bit rough but doable with a sedan. It is 20 to 30 minutes paved rough road drive from the activity center of the park. The toliet flush was not working very well.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The house is old fashioned old colonial- it is a bit like staying with an elderly aunt in a Scottish stone house with verandas. The location in the park is beautiful, the garden is nice, the verandah is a good place to sit and look at the view, dinner on small tables round the fire was good, the serving staff were nearly all friendly and the food on offer was varied and good, the other guests were interesting
Cons: A very bad first impression-very unwelcoming- the receptionist could not find our booking for some time - which is annoying having driven along a very bumpy track through the park to get there- they did not offer us water or anything while we were waiting for her to find it. She couldn’t find our booking because she was looking at the wrong day, and did not apologise when she eventually found it. Our room was much smaller than it looked in the photos and it was chilly - there was a radiator there but it had not been out on, and the fire in the sitting room between us and the other room, was laid but not lit. . When we wandered back to the main house, the staff seemed to be more interested in watching TV than looking after guests. We managed to get a drink from the empty bar - which looks like a large cupboard area- by going to find staff in the kitchen. The receptionist was also working in the kitchen and had been preparing food - and I saw her licking her fingers as she came out - not good. Everything seemed to be an effort for this grumpy receptionist/cook who did everything we asked - but very grudgingly and with bad grace and sighing.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a pleasant two nights at Rilley's Rock. The location is beautiful beyond belief and the animals very special. Sadly, I don't think overseas visitors realise how special it is to see Blue Duiker, Suni and Oribi so easily, and, for the most part, snacking off the lawns at the main house!! So much wonderful history too. The STAFF were the very best, darling Ruth and Lizzie looked after us very, very well. They shone!!
Cons: I feel bad giving any negatives, but the beds were too hard and too uncomfortable for our old bones. We were given the Cottage, as I'd requested a "bigger" than double bed, so it was not as luxurious as the rooms in the main house. Memory Foam Toppers will do the trick.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous atmosphere! In the heart of a wonderful wildlife sanctuary.
Cons: The wifi is either extremely slow or does not work at all.
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Hlane Royal National Park - Caravan Park in Hlane National Park, you'll be in a national park and 4 minutes by foot from Hlane Royal National Park. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in one of the private huts, with its own kitchen and bathroom. It was lovely. We BBQ'd one night, as all the equipment was there to use. No electricity in the hut, but gas lamps were provided. There was a mosquito net too. Amazing location right next to the safari park, so we were the first ones in every morning. The safaris were brilliant, with fantastic drivers. Our rhino walk was especially amazing.
Cons: We happened to be visiting over the few days when the watering hole was being 'remodelled', which was a real shame. When it is back up and running, it would be a wonderful place to sit with a drink and watch the animals.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: location, quite and listing to wild animals, distressful place, food, staff friendliness and always available to help
Cons: I don't have anything that I saw happened during my stay which I did not like. everything was on my favour
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rondavel huts were a great joy to sleep in. We really enjoyed the clear starry nights with the soundtrack of wildlife in the background. During the day one can see the rhino’s drinking at the closeby waterhole!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We did not have breakfast, but the Buffet dinner was quite nice. Real bush like experience.
6.3 Good
Pros: We liked the safari

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Oillamps at night. Dinnerbuffet good, breakfast and wine relatively expensive, compared to dinnerprices

Pros: Comfortable chalet in quiet and peaceful surroundings. Viewing of rhinoceros near accommodation very special.
7.0 Good
Pros: We stayed in the bungalows in the 2nd camp area. Very quiet & remote. Lovely to hear wildlife in woods surrounding us.
Cons: Not as much game to see as expected in the park as a whole. Limited number of drives, and food service at main site limited & slow
8.0 Excellent

Pros: In addition to the warm welcome by the staff, it was mainly the nature and the rest that left us the best impression. We really enjoyed this stay. Thanks !!
5.0 Okay
Pros: I appreciated communication from the place before checking in. And the staff was helpful when we asked for assistance
Cons: The room was not prepared for us as we found it dusty with black particles on the bed. For the duration of our stay the room was not cleaned, towels never changed. In the kitchen there was not soap or dishcloth. They did not help clean our kitchen.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The food and picturesque views and fresh air.
Cons: The cottage was a bit stuffy. Needs constant cleaning to keep it fresh
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The mountain view.
Cons: Everything
9.5 Excellent
Pros: After a slow drive over rough roads, for which one needs a high clearance and ideally 4-wheel drive, we arrived at an mountainside oasis. A birder’s paradise.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This is like a little paradise! The road towards the accommodation is bad but worth it! The manager Mike and the owner Rose are so friendly and helpfull. The place is clean, nice and the food is amazing!! Try the homemade carrotcake from Rose!! The best in the world
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The accommodation was absolutely incredible!! So beautiful and perfect. The management and owner were so accommodating and very friendly and helpful. The dinner and breakfasts can be described as delicious, comfort and soul food!

Pros: The setting high in the hills of Swaziland, with a magnificent view.

Pros: Beautiful rooms, good beds, all with private bathroom, good restaurant. Kids really loved the basketball and tennis field. Wi-fi was good!
Cons: Our chalet had the living area downstairs and you had to go outside to go to the rooms and bathroom. There was no water in the living area.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The structure in general was good and the food as well. Great garden with pools and basket field .
Cons: We didn't like the staff, because we had asked for a technician who never arrived. The room was definitely not clean and uncomfortable. Bad rooms.
5.8 Okay

7.0 Good
Pros: The best thing about the apartment was the shower. The rest was alright.
Cons: Wifi didn’t work in our apartment. The rooms weren’t really modern and the furniture is quite old.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are amazing. They make you feel like you are home away from home. The room ate spacious, clean n pleasant. The food is heartwarming n very tasty.
Cons: Absolutely Nothing at all. Everything about this place is perfect .
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location: on our way into Swaziland from Mozambique.
Cons: Property was too expensive for the value received. Staff was not really welcoming (didn’t know about my booking at arrival, seemed uninterested). Houses was 70s style, not cosy at all. There is clearly a lack of some hotel-venue competition in the area.
5.5 Okay
Pros: 1. Very convenient parking next to unit. 2. Spacious unit. 3. Onsite restaurant. 4. Comfortable bed. 5. Good breakfast.
Cons: 1. The older receptionist was extremely unfriendly and was not happy to assist with anything. 2. Non-existent WiFi. 3. Rats in the ceiling disturbed our sleep on both nights. 4. Very very low pressure shower. Could barely take a bath. 5. No hairdryer in room.
6.8 Good
Pros: The accommodation was not really much to complain about. We booked a budget room for 2, but we got a big room for 4 persons around 50m2!
Cons: The food. Breakfast was fine besides the meat. But we had dinner for two evenings. First evening we thought it was an incident, second we decided to take a takeaway pizza. It took more than 1 hour to make them, and after 3 slices of pizza our stomachs were tumbling around. We both got sick for 3 days. We thought the service could be better. There was hardly any information about the environment, but maybe because there is not really much to do in the vicinity. Yeah of course the wildlife parks are there, but also about that there was no information.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
6.3 Good
Pros: Very good amenities and location. Gardens were well maintained
Cons: Staff attitude was appalling. The check in lady got irritated by every question we had. At breakfast, we wanted to sit further from the door in the "private dining room" just because it was winter, but despite the dining area being entirely empty, we were forced and almost pushed to sit at a table close to door. Free wifi is a joke. It's only available at the restaurant and only 100mb, which was finished before I was done reading e-mails. General attitude of people in Swaziland was disappointing. We will not be returning.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: exellent food and very friendly staff
7.0 Good
Pros: The room
Cons: Too far from airport almost 50 minutes
6.8 Good
Pros: The setup regarding entertainment, the swimming pool, bar and staff treatment to guests
Cons: No fridge in the rooms. The cleaning staff is discriminating from utensils that are brought by guests and they only wash those provided by the hotel while knowing that there’s no kitchen in the room to wash your own dishes and utensils and guests are forced to wash their own in the bathroom
5.8 Okay
Pros: The pool area was nice
Cons: No bathtub in the room. The bathrooms are extremely small. Noise levels
6.3 Good
Pros: The place is central and opposite a nice SPUR and Ocean Basket & Spar. The bedding is nice.
Cons: No hairdryer in the room. We could not shower while we were there. No water. I thought at least they could move us to another room or give us complimentary breakfast.
5.5 Okay
Pros: We arrived at breakfast around 08h00 on the first morning. Disinterested staff who didn't even bother to make eye contact. The floor around tables was really dirty with spilt food/bread etc and no-one bothered to sweep up. It looked like a serious party had taken place! Very off putting to be expected to eat in that. There was no real effort to clear and re-set used tables and we had to wait. The buffet had plenty of empty servers or the remnants of dishes, not very hot. We obviously arrived at the end of the breakfast rush and there really was no effort to serve up a proper breakfast or replenish the buffet which considering the price is not good enough. We didn't even bother to have breakfast on the second morning. We asked to be moved for our second night as the wifi signal in the room (256) was shocking and we needed it for business. There was a lot of noise from other guests late in the night. The room was poky and very small. Phindile at reception needs a special mention as he went out of his way to ensure we got really nice rooms closer to reception, 115 and 123 and we were very satisfied with those. Although I only ever had one towel in my room. We were surprised at how quiet it was even though we faced the car park. The reception staff were generally helpful.
Cons: The breakfast staff could do with a lesson in customer service. The servicing of rooms is not up to standard in some instances. My colleague's bathroom on our first night (Ms Donna James) was very bad and she actually took photos to show reception. Considering the price, this was not up to standard.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Shower not working reception was rude . Told me I should have booked 3 days in advance . My travel to meet king was only finalized an hour before I booked on Thursday. I would not recommend place . I travel all over world at least 8 months of year .
8.3 Excellent
Cons: Wifi not up to standards
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hospitality is top notch
Cons: There was a function taking place outside our room on an open place of which we were notified of and it went on until after 2am. We couldn't sleep because of the sound system
5.8 Okay
Pros: The Staff was fantastic!
Cons: My booking was not confirmed and I selected that place because I saw the it included Breakfast but at the reception I was informed that no and I have to pay extra amount on the restaurant at the breakfast time. The room more or less but ver expensive for the amount charged and the bathroom it’s a disgrace!
