Location The AC was loud and woke me up several times during the nigjt
This hotel was comfortable, convenient and the staff was wonderful. Enjoyed my stay and will definitely stay again when I am in town.
I've stayed in nearly all of the hotels in Martinsville from visiting family over the years. Hampton Inn is by far the best and I'll never stay at another one. Clean rooms, great staff, modern features, great water pressure, soft towels, excellent gym. The free breakfast was the only thing I could complain about. Wasn't amazing.
Front desk was exceptionally kind and accommodating. Check in was quick & easy. The bathroom was huge! Sheets were fresh. Bed was comfortable. The shower had no tub or border so the floor got soaked whenever you took a shower. Got wet far beyond the curtain... Had to use slot of towels to step on.
It was located close to where I needed to be Shower/tub area was gross.
Bed was clean and comfortable Lavatory stopper was not connected and had to break a finger nail to pull it up. Waffle maker timer didn't work and when it started smoking I opened it and the waffle was so black I put it on the Styrofoam plate to carry it to the trash and it melted the plate Didn't have a complementary local paper, so no comics or news
Clean room Internet access very slow; breakfast choices were weak
housekeeping was friendly and shower was strong Beds were uncomfortable, front desk staff was rude when we asked to change rooms since our nonsmoking room reeked of smoke. The second room was not much better. Had we not prepaid, we would have left.
I liked that I could easily control the temperature of the room and park close to my room entrance. I also liked that for those who want a hot breakfast there is a Biscuitville directly across the street! The bed was comfortable for one night, too soft for multiple nights. The television reception was poor, the picture was grainy. This isn't the fault of the tv set itself, it is due to low signal signal strength. There were many lights in the room, but the room didn't feel well lit. I slept with ear plugs in so I can not speak for how quiet the rooms are. I did briefly try to find the ice machine, but decided that the back side of the motel was too sketchy and retreated back to my room without ice.
My experience was so bad from talking with the hotel staff about my room request that I did not even stay at the hotel, I just 'ate' the money I had paid for room and stayed at another hotel. See specifics below Called hotel to request a non smoking room on the bottom floor in a quite part of the property. I was told by a very rude, unprofessional, and unknowledgeable female that I would have to pay more for a non smoking room as I had paid for a smokiing room?!
The location. The room was awful. There was black mold and hair in the shower. Stains all over the floor. The tv didn't work and there were bugs all over the floor.
Leaving, I paid and did not stay It is a nasty place, and would not advise your customers to go. Plenty of nice reasonably priced options, too bad you did not list them.

Location Quality of the room for $85.00. Some wallpaper coming off, cheap towels and soap, noisy and most of the tenants where construction workers, many of whom sit outside by door drinking beer. They did not have poor behavior, it was just a bit tacky. Also in the morning when I was to check out a maid kept coming by my room as if to say haven't you left yet.
Location, clean, comfy bed, & great breakfast.. A couple easy maintenance issues, like a loose tub water handle (which was fixed after a phone call).
I have stayed in many hotels for both business and pleasure, and never have I been so shocked by a hotel (motel). When we saw the place it was very quickly apparent that there were problems. On a weekend when every other hotel within about a 1 hour vicinity was booked up, they claimed to be booked up as well. Strangely, there were probably two other cars in the lot. Perhaps we were the first to get there?? Then I was told that we MUST pay the entire bill upon arrival. 'So you can check in, but you can't check out?' I asked. The manager seeing that I was unhappy, spoke with the clerk, then said, 'we have a very special room for you.' The special room had the following amenities: it was the closest room to the freeway, it had holes in the walls, cigarette burn holes in the sheets, dirt, dirt and more dirt, a double door going to the next room that we could not lock (they could come into our room as they pleased). The door was lined with scraps of old orange carpet (sound proofing?), the wall paper was literally peeling off and hanging from the walls. Sections were cut out of the paper and the pictures were hung in odd places. Ironically if they move the pictures, they could have hid at least the wall cutouts. I will say the mattress was comfortable. Believe it or not, I'm not a picky person. I just couldn't believe this place. P.S. Very few other cars and people ever arrived, but naturally they put a person next to us so we had to lock our valuables in our trunk during the day.
I have been staying there once or twice a month for the past 6 months. The hotel was built back in the 1960's so it is old but it is clean and everything works. The bed is comfortable no matter which room I have stayed in. The staff is very friendly. I have never had any problem with loudness or inappropriate behavior from other guests. I would recommend to anyone who understands that it is one star and doesn't expect more.

The convenience of restaurants and gas stations. Also the convenience and ease of getting to the Martinsville Speedway. Very roomy rooms. Only complaint is when watching TV, the channel I wanted to watch kept messing up about every two minutes. There wasn't a coffee pot in the room and no continental breakfast. TVchannel I wanted to watch was messing up every two minutes.
