We enjoyed the breakfast out on the patio with views of the old town all around. We were there during the James Bond 007 movie shoot and watched them film a scene right in front of our room. Cons: Only breakfast was a little disappointing - a voucher for a cafe a couple of doors away which gave us an orange juice, small croissant and a cuppa. This is also common in Italy but we were leaving and had a long day ahead so it meant we had to go looking for a restaurant - which proved impossible as nobody was serving food at that time. Eventually found a place serving pizza slices and that had to do!

Cons: GPS doesn't recognize the address, so finding the place can be challenging, especially if you don't speak Italian (which I do). I got close, then asked help from local shopkeepers, none of whom spoke English. Property should give better details on how to find the place. Bathroom is in a loft area, up a flight of metal stairs, which can be an issue in the night. Shower is challenging for anyone over my height (6') due to the arched ceiling.

The guest house is just inside the Matera ZTL so arriving by car and parking could have been problematic. However, as I'm a disabled driver, Francesco had pulled out all the stops to get me a parking pass. We were able to park 50 metres from the front door. Thanks Francesco - brilliant service!!!

Pros: This bnb is really amazing!! And perfect is the only rightful word to describe it. Brand new, brand clean and beautiful designed!! The best bed I slept in during my trip, everything perfect functioning, the most beautiful romantically lit bathroom with a hairdryer that I want to go buy myself! All the spaces were very big and comfortable. The kitchen has a coffee machine with excellent coffee pads. The fridge was filled up with yoghurt, fresh juice etc.. This place is like a 5 star hotel, but so much better. On top of that the location is perfect. 5 min walking from the historical center and Giuseppe has everything prepared to give all the information you need to visit the wonderful cultural old city. We even got a map. No need to go to a touristic information center. Giuseppe speaks perfect English and French, and got in touch with us via whatsapp shortly after booking. We felt very well cared for and helped. I recommend this place to everybody interested in visiting Matera, and I will for sure come back!

Pros: I really recommend this place. First of all Giuseppe from stuff picked us up from train station - it is really close to station and old town as well, so it wasn’t necessary. Than we received maps of Matera and instruction what to see + small welcome gift, so lovely. Apartment is very nice, specious and clean. They provided us with breakfast, water, juice, coffe etc. We will definitely back there :)

Pros: This bnb is really amazing!! And perfect is the only rightful word to describe it. Brand new, brand clean and beautiful designed!! The best bed I slept in during my trip, everything perfect functioning, the most beautiful romantically lit bathroom with a hairdryer that I want to go buy myself! All the spaces were very big and comfortable. The kitchen has a coffee machine with excellent coffee pads. The fridge was filled up with yoghurt, fresh juice etc.. This place is like a 5 star hotel, but so much better. On top of that the location is perfect. 5 min walking from the historical center and Giuseppe has everything prepared to give all the information you need to visit the wonderful cultural old city. We even got a map. No need to go to a touristic information center. Giuseppe speaks perfect English and French, and got in touch with us via whatsapp shortly after booking. We felt very well cared for and helped. I recommend this place to everybody interested in visiting Matera, and I will for sure come back!

Pros: I really recommend this place. First of all Giuseppe from stuff picked us up from train station - it is really close to station and old town as well, so it wasn’t necessary. Than we received maps of Matera and instruction what to see + small welcome gift, so lovely. Apartment is very nice, specious and clean. Cons: Highly unprofessional and smug housekeeper: sending a video how to get the keys out from a small locker with so-called self-check-in only after I had eventually entered (via a needless expensive phonecall). Her poor English and level of understanding didn't make things better. Furthermore, a handful silly remarks ("I am doing my work better as the rules" (sic!) ) , sending vulgar emoticons to me, making arrogant remarks like "My English is good enough for myself" and "Your Italian is worst (sic) than my English" (of which I am not sure about actually), together with hilarious excuses that she couldn't come over to do the check-in because her son had taken her car (...), that she couldn't send an sms and being too idle to send an e-mail... all this is definitely not a recommendation. She only wanted to use whatsapp and she could simply not understand that there are still people in this world who don't have this application or who can, like me, only use it when wifi is available. When I asked her whether I could meet the owner her answer was that he was in England looking after his other properties. Well, well, well... However, one can come over all kinds of shortcomings including a broken liftdoor at the ground floor (a bit of a hassle, the flat being on the 3d floor) or a door to the bathroom that couldn't be locked (and caused an unexpected surprise...). But this housekeeper was the kind of person who blames the other for her own mistakes, shortcomings and lack of education. Conclusion: rather look for another place to stay in gorgeous Matera. There are plenty of them!

Pros: The host, Assunta was very friendly and helpful. She made great recommendations, which saved us quite some money, that we used towards shopping! I would recommend the place for anyone on a travel budget!

Pros: Excellent location! Near the main bus station and near the old town. The best price in Matera for sure. Very kind landlady. Supermarkets and coffee shops (serving pastry as well) near the stay. Flixbus lines available (the stop is about a kilometer away from the main station). Shared bathroom is quite large and very clean. The description of the property is accurate. Refrigerator! I was very satisfied with the stay.
Cons: I have no dislikes of this property.

Pros: We were met by the host who didnt speak English but was very friendly and explained what we needed.Room was very clean and comfortable. We could use electric kettle and other kitchen staff if needed.breakfast was not included but just next door is nice cafe with excellent staff and super cheap but good coffee and kornettos.location just perfect 15mins max walking to Sassi.thank you very much we enjoyed our stay.
