The room was very clean and comfortable.
The motel was near where I needed to visit. The breakfast was good. Staff helpful. It was clean. There was no microwave or sm. Refrigerator. I thought that came with all Best Western motels.
Close to our golf venues...parking in front of door, easy access in & out Ice machine should be in eating/lobby area..
The hotel was clean and relatively up-to-date as far as furnishings and maintenance. Noise from the freeway could be heard at all times. And I had a problem with signing in to the wifi, although it may have been my phone because others did not have the same problem.

Cleanliness and friendly helpful staff The climate control malfunctioned a bit but was corrected by staff
The staff was friendly and helpful. They had an area for the dog. We, unfortunately were assigned an upstairs rooms which wasn't very convenient for us senior citizens with a dog. The breakfast didn't have much healthy choice. I avoid carbs and that was mostly what was offered. I realize that is what people want but I have stayed in places where there was breakfast meat offered.

The hotel was clean as a whistle, the bed very comfortable and everything worked great. The breakfast selections were varied and good too. Great stay.
Staff and complimentary breakfast.
Much nicer than the other places I've stayed in Auburn. If only the price were this competitive all the time.
Friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean and smelled fresh. Accommodates dogs and has a grass area with pick-up bags and seating. During my stay the roof was being repaired and the noise started at 8am. Would have liked it quiet for a couple more hours.
The location is the best part about it. It's right off the 80 freeway so it's a quick overnight stop between Lake Tahoe and San Francisco. It was absolutely filthy. Our towels were badly stained. Our sheets were stained. The carpet was stained. The bathroom could have used a good wipe down. Maybe we got a fluke room but it was definitely not worth even $80/night.
Excellent breakfast, friendly staff, very clean The room faced the freeway and the noise was bad. Also, there were no blankets on the bed. When I went to the front desk to request a blanket they said they were all out and gave me extra sheets instead. It didn't help much.
Free breakfast, clean room
I requested a non-smoking room yet people were smoking right outside my room. It was an ashtray outside my door way it was spilling over with cigarette butts in the parking lot was filled with cigarette butts and obviously had not been cleaned up for weeks and weeks. My room smells very fresh smoke
Good experience, clean rooms. Friendly staff Small pool, aircon loud in room but necesarry it was very hot in Grass Valley
The friendly staff Willingness to satisfy our requests Cleanliness Manicured grounds Safe and enjoyable surroundings Great complimentary breakfast Nothing
I liked the layout and design that allowed me to sit outside my separate entrance room and enjoy the nice weather. Breakfast was crowded. No place to sit.
The facilities met our requirements and the location was excellent for discovering til northern Gold Country no
The staff were really friendly on arrival and moved our room to be one that was much closer to the reception area. Breakfast was complimentary and suited us fine. Room was comfortable and spacious with good visitor information booklet. We liked it and was perfect for our stay.
The breakfast and the cleanliness of the room
I found the staff to be very friendly and very accomodating. I also liked that it was located next to where the police parked their vehicles.
The bed was super cozy! Enough pillows fer sure. Hot tub not working :( No q-tips, box was empty, excellent breakfast!
No problems, free wi-fi, breakfast, nice people
Nice, attractive area with shopping and restaurants nearby. Close to Grass Valley and Nevada City. The breakfast could be expanded slightly: just one hot dish was available.
Old architecture. Listening to people in next room talking.
Historical aspect was interesting, location good but other hotels in town were much better for the money. STAY AWAY!! A/C not turned on unless you request it DAILY. Thermostat outside room controls 3 different rooms and is locked. Room furniture was falling apart and unsafe. Bathroom (claw-foot tub) barely usable - poor water pressure, curtains too small don't close, water leaks everywhere. Tthe dresser-drawers were stuck closed. Bed was a wreck and fancy headboard barely attached. Ceiling had multiple large water stains - thank goodness it was dry during our stay. Breakfast was not free and we had better at a Country Inns. Bar was crowded and understaffed for a wedding. Outside walls are bowed and crumbling, structure felt far beyond worn out. PS - there is no ghost - I think it was a publicity stunt by the hotel.
Comfortable bed. Large room. Small, unlit shower with a low flow shower head. Poor WiFi connection. No coffee availability in the room.
Very great Location! The Staff are wonderful & very friendly! Needs to be upgraded ! Beds are not very comfortable-hard as a rock! Grounds need a lot of work!
The Manager was a nice guy! The place was literally falling apart, T.V didn't work, Shower barely put out water floors were vacuumed but filthy, Definitely a last resort?
None of the above terms describes the motel. That being said, the bed was fairly comfortable. The location was right next to the highway. The facilities were outdated. The ice machine was broken. The free breakfast was minimal at best. The bath soap was tiny. The towels were so old and small that they were like sandpaper. We didn't feel safe because the bathroom window wouldn't lock. The staff was indifferent. We were unhappy with the experience altogether. Either the owner was cheap, the management was lazy or both.
Staff where very friendly. Quite location. Facility was clean. Place needs modernation.bathroom fan sounds like a jet engine, banister to up stairs needs fixing ,very loose. Next time I would stay down stairs.
I'm pretty sure it violated a lot of fire code and the mold on the bathroom ceiling wasn't very pleasant. And for----/night?
Location, price, room amenities (more TV channels than 5-star hotels). Totally out of date; water pressure too much.
No lock on bathroom window. Heating of room was extremely slow with electric baseboard vs. cinder block walls. Shady people hanging around outside. Crazy man screaming in the middle of the night in hallway, taken away by police in the morning.
Hotel was basic No
This place was very minimal. Overall no complaints. The girl who was working the front desk was very nice and helpful. If you just need a place to rest your head, this will do.
Front desk staff was professional and nice. Non smoking room smelled like cigarettes, and loud marijuana party with 10 people next door! We had to sleep in the car. It was horrible.
Extremely comfortable mattress. Very nice bath products. Nice wine and cheese in the evening. Great breckfast in the morning. Staff very accommodating and friendly.
The room was large & the bed comfortable. Easy to walk to downtown. Staff was extremely cooperative & knowledgeable. Everything was great
The lobby was very nice. Also coffee available Not liking is a complaint so here it is The train and not having someone at the desk for check in
friendly staff, clean room. NO coffee machines in room
In short price was cheap for my visit to Fast Fridays Speedway in Auburn the purpose of my visit. Oldtown Auburn clearly has some oldy worldy charm also, though only saw briefly due to lack of time in Auburn. Auburn Alehouse has some nice microbrews. As I came in on Amtrak had no car, you clearly need a car to stay here, only stayed the night but I could not see that you could walk anywhere significant from hotel, you could cross at top of road to come back down to Dennys but not a lot else. Can only recommend if visit combined with a car. This is a motel in every sense of the word.
Close to rafting site. I could not leave my cabin luggage behind for a couple of hours.
Very nice mattress. Nicest Motel 6 I've stayed at (and I've stayed in at least a dozen). Very convenient to freeway, groceries and fast food, but secluded and quiet. Good place to stay on the way to Tahoe, etc.
Hotel was close to the freeway. Rooms were updated. Starbucks and Denny's across the street. Mold growing on the ceiling in bathroom. Phone did not work. Cousins room was missing their smoke detector.
Ceiling in room looked freshly painted Smelled everywhere! Comforter had oil type stains. Shower nasty, bed hard.
The place is listed as 2 Stars, but since I knew it was recently remodeled (Summer 2013), I considered the rate I paid a great bargain. In the middle of the night there was yelling, threats of violence, slamming doors, and eventually police activity that involved police dogs pursuing suspects. How the guests behave are beyond Motel 6's control, but no effort was made to let the guests know that the threat had passed. It took a while to settle down and get back to sleep after all that commotion. In the morning, the young desk attendant wasn't prepared to address the overnight issue with departing guests. There were uncomfortable moments and awkward silences when I inquired about the frequency of such events.
Easy parking, quiet corner room, had a table and 2 chairs. Airconditioning was directed right on the bed. Only 2 pillows on a kingsize bed. Noise from freeway.
Great location, very clean.
The hotel is next to highway so commute was very convenient. I booked for a room with two Queen side beds and I did get it -- only problem was that the room was not cleaned. We had to swap for another room with two double beds. The new room was cleaned for sure, but the general condition was not beat down. There was a microwave and a small refrig which made noise all night. The breakfast was minimal. My kids got one yogurt. All in all this is an 1-star experience.
The very helpful front desk. The facility was clean and very well kept. Breakfast had a large variety of items. Cookies and coffee in the afternoon was a nice treat. The entire facility was in excellent condition .. And felt safe. No
The hotel was very clean and the staff was very nice. The complimentary breakfast was nice, especially the walnuts and raisins for the oatmeal.
The complimentary wine hour is great! The rooms are spartan and in need of a refresh.
The positive attitude of staff; nice breakfast and happy hour selections
Clean, comfortable bed, good breakfast nice selection, 2 comp drinks were a surprise and enjoyable.

I have just completed my 10th night at the Holiday Inn Express, aka Gold Miner's Inn. I have been visiting the area one weekend a month for the last 5 months. On each of these 10 nights, without exception, I was forced to call the front desk to complain about the sound of TVs and conversation in the adjoining room (after 10:30pm). On this last stay I chose the Sierra Suite thinking it would insulate me from the noise. Wrong. Not only did I have the same 'TV' issue with the room to the left but i also was awakened at 1am by a disturbance in the room to the right. The walls in this hotel are paper thin. It is impossible to get a good night's sleep. Time to quit trying a move on.
Free happy hour and breakfast although I didn't use either, nice to have the option. Coupons for local restaurants also nice. Easy to get taxi service. Didn't see tv express check out. Only one person was on staff so check out was a little delayed.
The staff was very courteous and accommodating, I will stay with this hotel for any of my future needs of lodging in the future fantastic experience.
NOISY. excerices room at all hours of night and drunks below our rooms tarting at 6 am.
The staff was excellent, attentive and polite. The addition of a free breakfast and happy hour was a plus that we took advantage of. The downtown location and easy freeway access is another plus. Overall this is a great place to stay! No
good location became really crowded after we got there
I like that it was low key & no pomp. --I Do wish there were a few more lounge areas, even just a sofa to have a bit of private time away from persons and still be out. There's a sofa & chairs on the 3rd floor----it'd be nice to have a few more sitting options around.
Staff was friendly. Room was comfortable. Desk staff responded to my requests. Location was convenient. Onsite laundry mat. Swimming pool looks spacious, but it was the wrong season for swimming. The clothes dryer did not work well. I had trouble starting it and I had to dry my clothes through 2 cycles. The computer in the lobby did not access the internet. I asked for assistance from the lady at the desk. She agreed that it did not work.
