Metz Hotels near Place d'Armes

Pros: It is a very nice an spacious appartment. We also could use the big garden with our child to play and have food there. It is a very nice an quiet neighbourhood, close to the Centre Pomidou. We also walked have an hour to the city centre, which is a nice walk on the river. Everthing was comfortable and the hosts lovely. Next time in Metz, we will come back there.

Pros: Mathieu and his wife are very friendly and always ready to help!

Pros: Location was good, central for cathedral and main area.

Cons: We found the hotel overpriced for what it was. Average decor, average fittings, nowhere near a 4 star in our experience and twice the price it should have been. No towels or tea provided for our 11yr old (i.e 3 people in room). Extra for parking and breakfast and had I not challenged an extra 20E per night for our dog who was small and didn’t impact anything. Reception staff unfriendly and unhelpful on arrival, thankfully much more polite and helpful on checkout. Would not recommend compared to others available.

Pros: The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful checking in. Several staff spoke English very well. (Something we needed since we didn't speak much French and the trip had been spontaneous so no time to brush up on it.) The location was SUPERB for easily walking to shopping, eating, local venues, and historic tourist attractions. Peaceful and in the middle of things all at the same time.

Cons: Hard to find where to park and then parking was said to be included but wasn't. The shower didn't function as a stand up shower. It was more a sit in tub and spray off.

Pros: Ideally situated, spacious room, huge and very comfortable bed, nice in-house restaurants.

Cons: Maybe the staff could be that bit more attentive, they sometimes made us feel a bit as a disturbance or distraction. I‘ve seen more contemporary bathrooms.

Pros: The breakfast was excellent! The water left in the room daily and the treats and weather forecast in the evening was nice. Pierre at the front desk was very helpful and knowledgeable. He answered our questions daily as he always seemed to be working.

Pros: The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful, location in Metz It’s super, breakfast was one of the best I’ve experienced

Pros: The building is 500 yrs old and was built as part of a military fort. The rehab is very new and has five star furnishings, finishes, accommodations and services. The staff was ultra friendly and could not have been more helpful. Short stroll to town (5 min) and Metz is very cool.

Cons: Nothing to complain about. And I'm normally a grumpy old man about things

Pros: The Reception Desk and Restaurant Manager were very professional, approachable, friendly and helpful. Breakfast and Dinner were very good. And lots of Sports on TV in the bedroom !

Cons: Sorry, but the breakfast selection is a little bit poor ... Unfortunately, this characterises not only this hotel, but characterises all French hotels. There are never any kind of vegetables: no tomatoes, no peppers, no onions, no cucumbers, nothing! There is scrambled egg what made from egg powder... What I hate... This is a fake scrambled egg, what is inedible! You can find cold boiled eggs... I could recommend the French hotel managers to look around at some Italian, Spanish or even Polish, Hungarian or Czech hotels and they will see immediately what a good breakfast is... And in exchange for giving us such weak breakfast, at least they do it very expensive... Never included in the room rate:( This is the truth, once again sorry ...

Pros: The receptionist was particularly helpful and we appreciated the secure parking. The close walking proximity to the Centre Pompidou as well as the centre of the city is very good.

Cons: A shower cap could be provided in the bathroom!

Cons: Well, if you reserve parking spot and you arrive around midnight - nobody around, guy on phone couldn´t explain where to park /in vicinity is just a posibble to park for fee max. for 2 h/ and you have to park a car 2.5 km away from hotel at Lidl´s and then walk it back - this is total mood killer, sorry. Plus like charge me for next day for parking at hotel´s premises, when they messed up liked that? Hard to communicate with them - English basic + German no way - never ever again...

Pros: Location of Hotel (central to everything), Price is very reasonable.

Cons: You get what you pay for. There is a reason why this Hotel also rents to students. This is what it feels like, like a student home. Fairly modern, but cheap, also regarding comfort (i.e. bed+ air conditioning). You can not expect more for this amount of money. Problem was to find it, a couple bigger signs (outside, or road-marks) would be nice. The parking is a nightmare. The architect of the parking garage should be slapped.

Pros: Location is quiet and close to the old city centre. The balcony was a lovely space to look out over the rooftops to the Cathedral. A big bathroom and good shower. Parking 2 mins walk away in place St Vincent is free after 7pm.

Cons: A little hard to find when approaching by car - it’s off a street that looks like it’s only for buses and is set back from the road - Look for a big yellow building set back off the road down a pedestrianised walk way, directly opposite the Pl St Vincent car park) Room was a little smaller than anticipated and a little basic.

Pros: very quite place. In suitable walking distance from the city center. The room is new and the beds are pretty good, although narrow.

Cons: the refrigerator was not very clean

Pros: Metz was a one-night stopover on a road trip to Germany. The town is so beautiful and has a great buzz about it, we wished it could have been longer. The hotel is in a brilliant location only a few minutes walk to the centre and almost next door to several historic buildings. The hotel is nothing fancy and the furnishings are a bit basic, but the room was large, clean and comfortable. We were on a high floor so had a great view from the balcony. Would definitely stay here again.

Cons: We struggled to make ourselves understood when we checked in, but it didn’t cause too much of a problem.

Cons: Room dirty. Really disappointed about parking: we sent several messages a month before for an underground parking. They told us it couldn't be booked in advance, but no problem. 3 hours before our arrival they told us we couldn't have the parking because we were arriving after 8pm, which it wasn't told us before. We ended up looking for another parking 500 meters away

Cons: Despite advertising there was WiFi in the room there was none at all in the two days we were there. We were told it was down but that is how it stayed - down. For anyone relying on WiFi they would be in trouble. We also found the underground car park very difficult to negotiate as the corners were very tight and we had a real difficulty finding our way out as there were was very little signage.

Pros: I asked about parking before we came and got good instructions as to how to reach the hotel and the parking. Otherwise it might have been difficult to find. It is very near the picturesque old part of Metz with the beautiful cathedral and some lovely restaurants. Easy to walk to it.

Cons: We would have liked to be able to leave the car longer than the checkout time of twelve. The car park was empty when we left. We had to find a different car park in Metz. Finding the car parking space in the garage was hard, and the turns were very tight. The breakfast was limited and the woman who put out the food was not very welcoming. She put out minimum amounts - one croissant each, etc, and was busy wrapping it up and putting it away when we arrived at least an hour before it was due to close.

Pros: Very helpful guy helped us with gate to car park which was safe and secure for motorbikes. Access involved wiggling past bollards in the street into pedestrian zone so not sure how easy for cars. Hotel well placed to walk into town and room reasonable for the price paid.

Pros: Location is very central and great for exploring the Cathedral and the old town centre. As the area around the hotel is pedestrianised the location is also quiet.

Cons: No air conditioning, typical for European hotels. Parking is terrible- you have to park in a lot that is 5 minutes away from the hotel and hail your suitcases there.

Pros: The hotel is a little faded glory. Grand perhaps refers to the number of rooms. We were given a spacious triple room at the quiet courtyard for two people. Oldfashioned furniture, but well maintained and clean. Breakfast was simple, but sufficient and everything was replenished quick. Friendly staff.

Cons: Toilet and bathroom were very small so we hurt ourselves several times at all sorts of corners.

Pros: Very quaint and excellent combo of old and new architectural elements. Had great character. Pristenely clean. Beautiful circular staircase. Very helpful staff.
