It's difficult to find the location to return the rental car to Alamo at MXP (Milan malpensa Airport). On your return to the airport, once you get into the airport proper here are two sets of signs - the first set has Alamo and an arrow, the second set of signs does not mention Alamo and so you have a decision to make - do I go left or do I go right. We went left - which was wrong, ended up at SIXT. They gave us directions back to Alamo.
At 9am on 25.04 Kayak and Sixt accepted a reservation for 10:00. Upon arrival I was told a car wouldn’t be ready for 3 hours. Terrible terrible terrible service.

Upon arriving in Milan Italy, we had to change our plans at the last minute, and went to the SIXT counter at the airport. I booked online while standing at the terminal and when we got there, it would’ve been a delay with the car I reserved. Fortunately, they were able to get us a better car at a similar price which was immediately available. The experience and service went above and beyond. Special thanks to Sara Faize who worked at making the process very easy and satisfying.. Sara gave us her contact information and followed up with emails throughout our stay. I would definitely recommend SIXT.

Lots of fees that were not transparent. The taxes were 800 euro and we got stuck with a large SUV when we booked a sedan. Plan on paying 2-3 times the amount quoted.

fill up the tank before returning !!! I got charged 130 euro for the empty tank (I rented a compact hybrid with a 9 gallon tank - approx 30 euro to fill it up)

The car type I had reserved (premium hybrid, estate wagon) wasn’t available. Instead I was given a large conventional SUV and told they were same cost because it was an “upgrade”

Hertz is okay. The online booking is a rip-off. I specifically declined the collision protection because I had my own protection but it deliberately added that charged me more, there was no need of it. I asked the agent at kiosk to remove it but he could not do it. There were other similar charges which were not explained and felt like a rip-off. The renting started as cheap and ended quite expensive.

We arrived during a snow storm and were heading to the mountains for skiing. The staff said that there were chains in the trunk, but when we got to the place where we need to put on chains, the chains were not there. Drop-off in Messina is quite difficult. The staff were not there during open hours and there is not even a place to pull over in front of the Budget office.

At the counter, I was told that no cars are available, and then that the only available car is at a much higher price. Once I did the booking via Kayak, a few moments later, the car was suddenly available and at a better price. Otherwise, everything else was probably fine

Car broke down. Had to wait 1.5 hours in the rain for a tow truck to come get it, then take a bus to get back to our apartment. The next day, I was told I would need to travel over an hour via taxi to Bergamo airport to get a replacement car. I have yet to be reimbursed for this trip, despite sending the receipt to Budget as per their instructions. Once in Bergamo, I was told they did not have a similar vehicle and would have to downgrade me to a smaller vehicle, but after a while of haggling with them, finally got a similar vehicle with an automatic transmission. Finally, I was charged over US$2500 for this rental by Budget when I was supposed to be charged US$750. They have yet to reply to my email sent several days ago to their customer service email address inquiring about the discrepancy. At least pick-up and drop-off were fairly easy.

Drivalia offers cars with letter "e" in description. You don't know-it is full electric. To me it is economy. In Italy the infrastructure for electric cars is poor. Also,Drivalia uses Chinese MG small suv hybrid. This is really weird hybrid you don't want to drive. Eats lot of gas and you have to change this hybrid like full electric car. Milano int. Airport does not have good signs to get to rent garage to drop your car.

At pickup we realized the company has a long record of being a scam. There was another customer at the counter with us who was already upset and getting extra fees since his flight was as delayed even though cars were still available. It’s a trap as by the time you get to the car rental location, youre far away from the airport and most people have travel plans and a schedule they need to keep, therefore they’re desperate. After seeing how the other customer was treated including terrible attitudes from employees, and then reading reviews about deposits not being returned and so forth, we decided to not rent the car and pay more than rental price for an Uber in order to avoid working with this company. It made me realize i must think twice when booking anything through KAYAK.

Had to pay for insurance because an international driver license was required according to them it was twice the cost. When I went to drop off the system was down and had to leave without a receipt which I haven’t received yet. International license was not required when I booked it,

Impossible to locate their number or to know where the pickup point will be. This was a problem of KAYAK though, as no such info was anywhere in the voucher. Took us 90min since the time we got out of the airport until we finally got the car. The car was fine, an SUV (MG ZS) instead of an estate we had booked. Although this was an upgrade, we didn't get the length of space we needed (we were carrying skis). They didn't have another car available, not even at a higher price. The car wasn't washed, and although the rental agreement was full-to-full we got the car so empty that even the km left had dashes flashing. The staff were very polite though, and the queue was medium (15min wait)

The car pickup location is in a remote area, about a 15-minute drive from the airport. Once you get there, you’re essentially a captive customer — completely at the mercy of the rental company and its tactics. In my case, they claimed that since I didn’t have an international driving permit (something I’ve never been asked for before anywhere in Europe), they couldn’t rent me the car unless I purchased their full insurance package, which cost €115. With no real choice — stranded in a remote location with my wife and 3-year-old daughter — I had to accept their demand, as the alternative was to take the shuttle back to the airport and try to arrange a car elsewhere.

Rental was not with Locauto like advertised. Rental was with budget rental service B-Rent which is not what I choose. I will never rent with them or go through kayak again for car rental. Not what adv. off site, difficult staff. Kids were devoured by mosquitos while they had to wait outside for over an hour at off site rental site with tiny office.
