Pros: Rooms are beautiful. Vanity makeup area to get ready in, and spacious shower. Bed was extremely comfortable, almost the same as my bed from home. Staff had superb customer service skills and went above and beyond to make our stay easier. Rooftop sun deck gives amazing views down the coast from a jacuzzi! Would definitely come back again.
Pros: The staff is amazing and the hotel was very elegant. I was very satisfied with everything I have no complaints. There is nothing I can say bad about this hotel.
Pros: View was AMAZING! Bed and pillows were sooo comfortable! Bathroom was beautiful! Everyone was so friendly and went above and beyond!
Cons: The room came with robes which is a plus, but they were very itchy so I didn't end up using it.
Pros: This place is amazing. Although ostensibly it doesn't look over the top, it is a quietly classy place. Our receptionist, Tiana, helped us throughout our stay and she is the sweetest and most accommodating representative (although everyone we met just went over the top, from the concierge to the bellhops to Ryan the cars concierge). The rooms are huge. They easily fit all of the stuff for our 8 month old with tons of room to spare. His packnplay was no issue at all. Everything is very clean and it was quiet and relaxing. We ordered room service , and it was pricey as expected, but the food was DELICIOUS! I doubt we would have found better food elsewhere - the crab cake Eggs Benny was delicious! We checked out and had our car brought around (valet parking is surprisingly included in the resort fee) and Ryan, our car concierge , told us if sightseeing (we were headed to the aquarium), to feel free to leave the car there, no problem, till 5. That was really nice and we did not have to worry about parking. Overall this is right on the end of cannery row and is apparently about a 10 minute walk from Fisherman's Wharf as well (we didn't have a chance to get down there). You can't beat the location, the customer service, or the amenities here. We would only stay here when coming back. Thank you!!
Pros: Geat ocean view , nice evening music , the staff was helpful , we love the restaurant , we love the valet parking . and the price of the room includes it
Cons: The price of the ocean view rooms is very expensive , and it doesn't include the breakfast
Pros: Beautiful hotel, great location. Comfortable beds.
Cons: Rooms need maintenance. Lock didn't work and needed to be replaced. Phone wasn't working properly.
Cons: The price!
Pros: Very clean & well appointed. Nice live evening music. Convenient peet's coffee on premises. Nice outdoor firepit and beautiful "plaza area" / patio for all to use....very open-air views of the bay.
Cons: Spa facilities did not accomodate the numbers of people using, it very well.
Overall, hotel was a bit over the top for our needs, and I hate always having to figure out tips without feeling like a cheapskate, but I guess that's just part of "high livin".
On the whole ,staff was extremely understanding & accommodating of a few problems that arose and were more than fair in resolving them.
Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa sits right on the bay in the center of town, a 15-minute walk from Fisherman’s Wharf and 2.5 miles (4 km) from Point Pinos Lighthouse. Carmel, Pebble Beach, and 17-Mile Drive are within a 20-minute drive, and golfers can choose from over 20 courses in the county.
Pros: You would think that a place this convenient on Cannery Row would skimp on the amenities but it does not. The rooms are incredibly spacious and lovely. The beds are incredibly comfortable, although the pillows are a tad too soft. The windows open - a rarity now days - letting in the sea breeze. And it's steps away from the Aquarium and plenty of shops / restaurants.
Pros: Location was excellent, Hotel was beautiful. Staff was world class. Will be staying again in the future.
Cons: A bit pricey
Pros: Incredible staff, convenient location
Pros: staff is amazing, the room was perfect and you can't beat the location at one block from the aquarium.
Pros: Lovely location right in the heart of Cannery Row and on the waterfront. This is not an inexpensive hotel but let's face it this is an InterContinental brand not a Motel 6. If you want to splurge this is a good choice however if you don't need a waterfront view and stay in the connected bldg. across the street you can get a room with a fireplace for less. I found this hotel to be relaxing and the staff helpful. Even without a waterfront room they have a large deck area looking out into Monterey Bay where you can sit in front of a fire pit with your friends or by yourself and sip your favorite beverage and enjoy the view and some down time from busy Cannery Row.
Pros: The location
Cons: It was no better than a holiday express, but much more expensive. Beds were miserably uncomfortable.
Pros: Nice rooms, and great restaurant attached to hotel with an extensive wine menu
Pros: Liked how we could purchase 2 day aquarium tickets for the same price. That was very convenient.
Cons: I didn't need a mini bar in he room. But would of liked a microwave and mini fridge.
Pros: The location was great. Right in the middle of Cannary Row.
Cons: The pool was small.
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: I thought booking a hotel right next to the water that I could be hearing waves in the tranquility of the evening. Instead I hear cars and foot traffic because our room is all the way back and faces the garage. This hotel was almost three times the cost of any equivalent hotel if it wasn't next to the waves I didn't get to hear.
Pros: Excellent service
Cons: Noisiest hotel in Monterey
Pros: You can't beat the location- just a block away from the Monterrey Bay Aquarium and right on Cannery Row. Staff was all very nice and the facilities were top notch.
Cons: The restaurant was not pricey and not very good. This is a small complaint, as the view was outstanding and there are plenty of better places to eat within easy walking distance. Would have been nice if wifi was included with room.
Overlooking the ocean this Monterey luxury hotel is ideally situated in the heart of John Steinbeck's historic Cannery Row. Explore fashionable boutiques delectable eateries upscale galleries and a vibrant street scene just minutes away. Enjoy unique contemporary style right on Monterey Bay from the Pacific View Courtyard with sunset fires to the tranquil lap pool and suites with private balconies. The area is famous for Vintners so don’t miss wine country or stunning Point Lobos.
Pros: Staff was welcoming from check in to check out.
L Auberge Carmel offers a free airport shuttle (available on request) and puts you within a 10-minute drive of Carmel Beach and Pebble Beach Golf Links. Guests can indulge in massages and enjoy Californian cuisine at Aubergine, which is open for dinner. Rooms at this luxurious hotel offer up nice touches like premium bedding and bathrobes, along with LCD TVs and minibars.
Pros: The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
There was a rooftop hot tub for everyone.
Complimentary breakfast in bed.
Spacious and nice bathroom.
You could see sea otters from your balcony.
Pros: The hotel was fantastic. The view from the forth floor spa was outstanding. The hotel is located just off cannery row to be quiet and comfortable, but we'll witching walking distance to all attractions.
Cons: They need a restruant or step up breakfast.
Pros: Location, nice room, great staff
Cons: Mandatory $10 fee for a five year old to get a $2 crummy breakfast -we ended up paying for a breakfast at the Monterey Inn down the street instead.
The place needs a power washing! Gull excrement all over the place and not enough nets to prevent them from hanging out to poop
Pros: Great location I would definitely stay here again!
Pros: I enjoy staying here...hot tube on top floor where you can see Monterey. Comfortable stay and always clean. Definitely staying here again.
Pros: No crowds at the end of Cannery Row, and close enough to walk to any style restaurant or pub, shopping, etc.
Cons: Very slightly disappointed there weren't Bluetooth speakers to plug into for music, however the soothing sounds of the ocean water washing against the rocks below our balcony was much more enjoyable!
Pros: Hotel was a nice location next to the quieter side of Cannery Rd. So we thought the construction across the street ruined the Bay watching during the day, We were gone most of the day.
But other than that everything was wonderful!
Pros: Location and the seals in the background hiding the bowling alley that was in a room above us.
Cons: Bad plumbing. When a bath was taken, the drain took forever and would occasionally burp up some black junk that stunk. Had to rinse the tub out after it drained because of the smell.
Pros: We enjoyed everything about the Monterey Bay Inn. It was right on the water and was close to all the shops on cannery row. The room was beautiful and very clean. We will stay here again in the future.

Amenities include complimentary wireless Internet access, 47-inch LCD TVs with satellite service, and binoculars. Turndown service features gourmet chocolates. Complimentary cribs/infant beds are available on request. All rooms are non-smoking.
Pros: My wife and I stayed at the Martine Inn during Monterey Car Week and, in spite of the elevated activity level throughout the Monterey area, Don, his Grandson and the staff took great care of us. The Inn was our welcome ocean front retreat when we needed a break. Breakfasts were very good and the afternoon "tea" was extensive and tasty. All in all, a delightful stay.
Cons: Being car week, the room rates were not a bargain but also not totally unreasonable as all area accommodations go up pretty sharply during that time. Also, the rooms are not air conditioned, which is not prominently mentioned. Though the days were pretty warm (August) the ocean front location assured that things cooled down reasonably during the evenings. Sleeping was not at all uncomfortable.
Just 4.6 mi (7.4 km) from the airport, Martine Inn puts you just a 5-minute drive from Monterey Bay Aquarium and Maritime Museum. Guests can keep active with onsite hiking/biking trails, and free perks include WiFi, self parking, and full breakfast daily between 8 AM and 10 AM. Nice touches like bathrobes, designer toiletries, and comfy beds with premium linens are offered up in all rooms at this upscale bed & breakfast.
Pros: We often stay in Monterey and we very much like this place. It's location is great if you don't mind walking a little, and the rooms are nice, clean and well-equipped.
Cons: The amenities are small -- workout room, pool, etc... but when in Monterey there isn't a reason to stay at the hotel anyway. During peak season, the rooms are a little pricey here
Pros: Modern room update. Extra sink/ mirror outside of bathroom which is always useful. Very clean. Comfortable bed and bedding. Fireplace which would be lovely in cool weather. Centrally located. The safe in our room would not open and my things were in it. The hotel staff could not fix it although the maintenance guy was able to get it open. The manager gave us a voucher for the restaurant which was appreciated.
Cons: Small room size. No air conditioning which I realize they don't need very often, but it was quite warm when we were there.
Pros: The check in person was helpful and friendly. The check out person was defensive.
Cons: Room is too crowded with stuff. Lack of space for luggage and yourself. We were on first floor where they recommend locking windows plus people could see in. Two small windows on the parking/alley side did not provide enough air considering there was no A/C. Also very noisy in the morning on that side. Add to that was the fact the screens were ripped. TV had a cheap, crappy remote.
The location is only okay. Price too high for the product.
Pros: Staff was fantastic- just very accomodating, friendly and really made an effort to make the stay enjoyable. Can't say enough about the staff. I was sitting reading on their pretty outdoor patio and they offered me a glass of wine, even though the bar wouldn't be open for another few hours. Room was really great- spacious, updated fixtures and hardware (felt like a swanky room), and without any ambient noise at all. Plush soft towels, comfortable bedding- the whole experience just made us both feel like "ok, we're staying at a NICE hotel." We were on the second floor facing the street and really didn't get any street noise at all either. If we're ever back in the area, we will definitely stay here again.
Pros: The location was good not great. Close to stuff but still a bit of a walk. I was happy with the value. Comfortable room and clean. It looks like the place has recently been renovated.
Cons: A bigger pool and hot tub would be nice.
Pros: -We were allowed to check-in early (11am!)
-The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
-The fireplace was very romantic and made the room toasty.
-The outdoor pool was heated and clean.
Pros: Clean. Nice nice room.
Pros: I was looking for the best hotel for the most reasonable price that accepted dogs. This was the one that I found using Hotels.com and Yelp and other resources.
They honored my reservation made late last year and I was able to bring my dog. That was really great.
The rooms were very nice, very clean. It was an excellent value for the money. Some people complained about the noise but I did not notice any problems with that.
Staff was very nice and allowed me to keep my trailer parked in the lot while my boat was on the water. That allowed me flexibility during my visit.
Cons: The front parking lot was very tight and very full. The back lot was not accessible due to construction but I assume that would free help once construction ceased.
They no longer accept dogs. I would go back again if they allowed dogs still. In fact, it would be the only place I would go while staying there.
The fridge is a little small but many food options were nearby so storing food is not really highly necessary.
Pros: Pool, hot tub
Cons: I paid $200 for basically a motel with a cuter looking front. The place seems like it needs a fix up and not just cosmetic. I've NEVER stayed in a hotel with no a/c..you should at least advertise that there's no a/c. We heard every footstep of the guests above us. I'd never stay again
This Monterey hotel is 1 mile from Fisherman's Wharf, Del Monte Beach, and the historic San Carlos Cathedral. The Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row are both about 2 miles away.
Hotel Abrego is entirely smoke-free. An outdoor pool is paired with a spa tub. The Abrego Lounge serves breakfast, small plates, and locally produced wines and beers. Guests can dine indoors by the fireplace or out on the patio. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available throughout the hotel, and guests can make use of a 24-hour business center.
Guestrooms feature Italian linens, 37-inch flat-panel TVs, and iHome clock radios with iPod docking stations. In-room safes can accommodate laptops. Desks come with ergonomic chairs. Other amenities include minibars, cordless phones, waffle-weave bathrobes, and individual pod-style coffeemakers. Most rooms include a fireplace and a chaise longue.
Pros: All the employees I've met were super nice and helpful. The toliets and bathrooms were extremely clean at all times. The beds are comfy, you get towels for free, they have a very nice hangout area.
Cons: Not much going on, very quiet after ten, maybe not optimal for solo travelers.
Just 4.2 mi (6.7 km) from the airport, HI Monterey puts you just a 5-minute drive from Monterey Bay Aquarium and Maritime Museum. Guests looking to stay active can check out the nearby kayaking and scuba diving, and free perks include WiFi, self parking, and continental breakfast daily. Other highlights include a terrace and a garden.
Cons: Looks like a beautiful hotel, but they cancelled while I was halfway through a long drive to the hotel for a wedding. Had to turn around and come home and miss the event.
Pros: We love this place! We came here last year and fell in love! Pet Friendly, right on the water, you get your own golf cart, and a decent restaurant with full bar right there! The rooms and view are the show stoppers! Wish it was a little more reasonable in the price but location location location!
Cons: Thing have changed since our last visit. The hotel and restaurant are undergoing a change of ownership and they have made some strange decisions. First they no longer offer golf carts for each room, complete bummer. It really was fun and a total selling point. They are still on site but just not in use. If they change it we would come back. Also the hot tub was out of service, by the sign for quite a while. For a chill coast a hot tub is key. The restaurant leaved much to be desired. Although we love the outdoor fire pit tables the menu was haphazardly blocked out by falling taped pieces of paper abs the food was not great. Don't really see the point of the sushi, it seems like if you did pizza, steaks, and a few fun Hawaii dishes you would make your life and food a little easier. Little things but it makes a difference when you are spending a $1000 for 2 nights stay.
Pros: Location was fantastic. Very short walk on a private path to the beach. Close enough to town for shopping and running errands.
Cons: Room is incredibly small, even for just 2 people. Walls are PAPER thin! Not worth $1,000 for 3 nights!
Pros: Pool, location, room, atmosphere
Cons: Golf cart did not work on second day, reception area should be bigger.

Pros: Super friendly staff, Barbara was incredible! Easy parking, great location. Walking distance to everything you want to see in downtown Carmel. The room was very clean and comfortable, and very well stocked as well. Complimentary breakfast, chimney in the room, sunny and nice decor. I would come back.
Cons: Unfortunately, wifi didn't work. But they are supposed to be looking at changing providers, hopefully this won't be an issue much longer.
When you stay at Adobe Inn, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Fisherman's Wharf and Carmel Beach. Guests can enjoy the outdoor pool, along with onsite horse riding/rentals. Rooms offer up nice touches like fireplaces and bathrobes, along with balconies and flat-screen TVs.
Pros: This little hotel was clean, neat, stylish, family and pet friendly. The staff was very nice and incredibly accommodating. The restaurant wasn't half bad either. Its a drive to Carmel-by-the Sea, but only steps away from the shops and restaurants that locals actually frequent.
Cons: It's right off of a major road, which is convenient but not as quaint and quiet as the rest of Carmel. Still a great value!
Pros: Great Inn with a nice staff and comfortable facilities. Location is great, we really enjoyed our stay here. The staff was wonderful as well.
Cons: Don't get the breakfast buffet, the food served was the only downside of an otherwise great stay.
Pros: Pretty room with nice balcony, free wifi, & good location.
Cons: Heater was on full blast on arrival, thermostat issues, TV needed to warm up before working properly, very poor customer service, & there was suspicious "stain" on comforter. They did end up giving us a 20% discount off room rate for the thermostat inconvenience at time of checkout.
Pros: Close to a lot of shopping and restaurants.
Cons: Parking difficult later in the evening.
Pros: nice , clean hotel,, no charge to park,, room was easily accessible from car,, quiet and comfortable overall
Cons: not in Carmel proper, had to drive and park, too far to walk to town,

The hotel is overpriced for what it offers. It's out dated. The rooms are at best a 2star
Pros: The hotel has a nice view
Cons: The room had no air conditioning. The windows had to be opened to get any cool air. The problem was it was very warm when we were there. We had to leave our room and go to the hotel lobby to get get fooled down. It has an old look. The room is outdated.
Facilities The resort comprises a total of 249 rooms. Services and facilities at the hotel include a restaurant, a dining area, a bar, room service and a conference room. The complex offers tennis (for a fee) to travellers. Additional services include an entertainment programme for children, offering numerous activities.
Pros: The staff were all very professional and helpful. Room was clean with basic amenities in bathroom.
Breakfast choices were good with protein offerings and not just carbohydrates.
Cons: We have stayed here before and continue to find It is impossible to read the directory for the television, it is printed in a tiny font that defies even the most acute eye exam. We understand the need to conserve paper but this is ridiculous. Understand that this is an issue with Direct TV and the Corporate offices, they need to enlarge the room TV channel directories!
Pros: Generally nice and clean with good breakfast buffet. Check-out was at 12 noon so great for sleeping late, except you could not close the curtains completely (dark ones) and the California sunlight made it too bright for sleep.

Cons: Facilities not to standard expected for four star rating
Cons: Hotel receptionist at the front lobby. Upon checking in, he literally gave keys and handed it over. Didn't explain anything else, parking, amenities, etc
Pros: My wife and I live on east coast and celebrated our 25th anniversary in California. We stayed at a Hyatt in 3 out of the 4 cities we spent time in. We started with the Hyatt Regency in San Francisco for 4 nights which was fantastic! We then stayed here at the Hyatt Regency in Monterey which was not what we expected. We upgraded to a room facing the golf course. The view decent. The staff were very friendly. The location is good if you're a golfer. Otherwise, I would rather be closer to the beach.
Cons: My primary complaint was the lack of central AC. I don't know if all rooms are setup this way but our room had a portable air conditioner. It does the job to cool the room but it is extremely loud and the compressor kicked on and off all night. If you can sleep in 72 degrees, you won't have a problem. If you are like my wife and I and like it 67-69 degrees, you may want to consider another hotel. It has a huge impact on a good night's sleep which is the main purpose for renting a hotel in the first place.
Pros: Very nice grounds. Facility and staff were very nice.
Cons: Rooms look nice but not very functional. Modern hand shower makes a mess and not easy to use. Indoor free standing A.C. unit is needed but is as loud as a train. Closet door won't stay shut. Ceiling fan wobbles and makes noise. Soda machines were down. Stupid small things that could be easily fixed.
Pros: Beautiful room, beautiful view and very convenient to all of down town
Cons: It seems the nicer the hotel, the less accommodations.
No free coffee or breakfast, business center computers needed to have browsers updated, too many kids in the spa
Cons: There was very little water pressure from the shower. Also the heater thermostat did not work. We set it at 80 we were freezing and went to bed, when we woke up the heater never kicked on but the ceiling fan did? So weird
Pros: I liked the outdoor area. There is a large pool, hot tub, games, and communal fire pit that was a lot of fun.
Cons: I really dislike the bed covers. You are either way too hot or freezing. What happened to old-fashioned blankets?
Pros: Loved that they had live music. Restaurant had good service for breakfast and dinner. Food was good as well.
Cons: Did not like carpet in bedrooms. Bathrooms a bit small
Pros: Everyone from the front desk staff, the servers and bartenders, and the housekeepers did an amazing job. I work in the service industry in a casino/resort, and yet I experienced better service and a better experience with the staff at the Hyatt than where I work. A+++.
Cons: The only things I didn't like had nothing to do with the hotel and its staff. It isn't located downtown, so it is a very short trek to the festivities in town. Also, it sounded like a large man was doing burpees in the room above us.
Pros: We enjoyed the recently updated rooms including the very nice bathroom with vanity and open shower. We enjoyed very tasty room service meals (dinner and breakfast). We also used the pool which was pleasantly warm.
Cons: The toilet was a bit of a tight fit with walls on either side. The air conditioner was a standing machine which had an exhaust that was separated form the back and until we reattached it poured hot exhaust over the air-conditioning.
Pros: Super nice staff. The $22 resort fee includes parking and internet. A little farther from the wharf/tourists spots.
With 550 deluxe guestrooms and suites and over 40,000 square feet of newly renovated meeting and event space, the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa is the most complete hotel destination on the Monterey Peninsula. Nestled in 22 acres of Monterey Pines, the Hyatt Regency Monterey provides the quintessential Monterey experience in a location offering guests close proximity to downtown Monterey, Monterey airport and easy access to the Peninsula’s top attractions.
Pros: Very nice welcoming staff. Had an issue with the remote for the TV and had immediate attention to reset and program it. Nice breakfast area with sufficient variety of food, coffee, tea, orang juice, milk, fresh fruit, cereals (hot n cold), variety of breads to toast, make it yourself waffles, and boiled eggs. Just a short walk to the beach.
Cons: Mildew in the shower, peeling wallpaper in the bathroom, dirty remote control, filthy doors, bugs (e.g. tick) in the room.
Pros: The Rosedale Inn is understated when looking at it from the outside but the interior is all very modern and high quality. The rooms look as if they've just been upgraded because the bathroom has a Jacuzzi tub and all contemporary features. The setting is also great--wonderful wooded area.
At Rosedale Inn, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Monterey Bay Aquarium and Point Pinos Lighthouse. Free perks include WiFi, self parking, and continental breakfast available daily. Rooms offer upscale touches like fireplaces and jetted tubs, along with kitchenettes and LCD TVs.
Situated by the ocean, Rio Sands Hotel is a great choice for a stay in Aptos. You can get a morning swim in at the outdoor pool, and the spa tub makes for a relaxing end to the day. Rooms feature bonuses like refrigerators and microwaves, along with free WiFi and free wired Internet.
Pros: staff was super friendly and the bed comfortable. location is close to the main street. breakfast in the room was nice (but only to the fact that there was no lounge or lobby, more pragmatic than anything else).
Cons: Walls paper thin, breakfast itself was nothing really, noise in the streets, bed quite small for a queen sized, curtains didn't close entirely, bathroom super small! Way too expensive for what you get. Pool was drained and looked horrible.
Pros: Our only complaint is that the noise of the village and the parking lot found its way into our room.
Pros: Perfect location in the heart Carmel. Center of all shops and restaurants. Slight ocean view in our room and could hear the waved when it was quiet at night. Great service, free breakfast delivered to your room, tremendously clean, cozy and comfortable.
Cons: The structure is outdated and the bathrooms feel very outdated, but you'll never really notice or care due to the 5 star cleanliness, service, location and value. Breakfast could be better, but right next to plenty of great places to eat that you can walk to.
Pros: Great location and very clean.
Cons: Very noisy, walls are very thin. Street noise is very loud. Did not sleep well during my stay.
Pros: The rooms were very clean and quaint. Balcony was a nice amenity. Wasn't very expensive at all and was perfect for a golf trip on a budget or just to have a centralized location to enjoy the town and beach--which was within walking distance.
Cons: Room could have had a little more space in it and a refrigerator and/or fireplace (like some of the others have) would have been nice but no complaints.
Pros: Location, staff, free parking, comfortable and clean.
Cons: Decor a bit dated but attractive.
Cons: Old and musty smell
Pros: Location, comfortable bed, nice shower
Cons: No AC, internet slow and frequently drops out, old TV
Pros: Room was clean and staff was friendly.
Cons: Breakfast- said continental breakfast but it was more like a morning snack. Don't say breakfast included if it is not breakfast.
Bathroom sink is just that a sink, no counter space for toiletries. Made it difficult to brush teeth, put on make-up, etc.
Pros: Perfect location to walk to shops, restaurants, and the beach. Great restaurants. We loved the nice touch of delivery to our room for the mornings coffee or tea with croissants and fresh fruit and juice.
Rooms were older, not updated. However, the bedding was a pure delight.
When you stay at Carmel Lodge, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Fisherman's Wharf and Carmel Beach. Freebies like breakfast, WiFi, and self parking are added perks, and guests looking to stay active can check out the nearby hiking/biking trails, kayaking, and mountain biking. Nice touches like designer toiletries and pillowtop beds with premium linens are offered up in all rooms.
Pros: Quick check in, available parking, comfortable bed and complimentary breakfast.
Pros: Good amount of parking and a clean room with inside (hallway) access. Our larger room with a single queen, couch and desk was a good choice and came with a microwave, small fridge and safe. Don't expect views or character here, just a good hotel room with a comfy bed and room to rest/recline after a long day.
Cons: Rooms are not very well insulated, so noisy neighbors are easily heard. This is OK most of the time until their are screaming children or reveling partiers.
Cons: Can hear next room neighbors
Pros: The staff was so awesome. Every little thing we needed, they seemed actually happy to supply. It was clean. Breakfast was good. The pool and hot tub are small but totally adequate. We will definitely be back!
Cons: It isn't down at Cannery Row but once you know where you're going it only takes 10 minutes to get to and from.
Pros: Easy access and parking. Breakfast was nice but not great. Clean and fine for families.
Cons: Pool was cold. Noise from road.
Pros: Very friendly environment for sure! Great staff ! And Great service have nothing bad to say and next time I go to monterey I will book here again no problem
Pros: This hotel is in keeping with Best Westerns standard for clean, well kept facilities with accommodating staff.
Cons: The only complaint I have is we could hear the conversations in the adjoining room as if there was no door.

Pros: I meant to click 4 stars. It was great overall.
Cons: My pillows were kind of lumpy. It took several hours to bring the temperature of the room down from 79 to 72. I discovered there is mercury in the thermostat when I accidentally removed the cover trying to adjust the temperature.

Pros: Beautiful Downtown, close to Fisherman's Wharf, and well-preserved and maintained building and rooms. Rooms are older and bathroom fixtures & layout could use updating, but the furnishings are antique, the bed was comfy, and the room was clean and neat throughout, and the place was quiet. It is located conveniently close to many differing restaurants, and of course the real touristy hotspots are only a few blocks away. Bring your walking shoes!
Cons: So the closest parking they refer you to is 4-blocks away and there is no guarantee that you'll park closer even at check-in as they have no "dedicated" on-street parking/loading nearby. There are stairs everywhere, so even if you ride the elevator up, once you get to your floor it's the old-fashioned "wandering" hotel with weirdly set up hallways and you go out of one building into others, and there are stairs everywhere! Only 3-5 stairs but railings are only on one side if at all, and there's no forewarning of that fact.
Pros: Good location, in heart of downtown. Parking can be an issue. Hotel could use an update.
Cons: A bit noisy due to street area
Pros: The hotel had an excellent location only a short walk from Monterey Bay and the wharf. Although a bit shabby, the hotel has a charming feel. The staff was helpful and friendly.
Cons: Both the room and bathroom were uncomfortably small. Other than the bed, there was only one small uncomfortable wooden chair to sit on. No microwave or refrigerator was provided. The worst problem was the noise, both day and night, which made it impossible to get a good night's sleep. Between the trash trucks, the squawking sea gulls, the late night party goers, and street construction peace was not to be had. And, because the room was not air conditioned, the windows could not be closed.
Pros: Location was a block away from the wharf with restaurants and shopping nearby everywhere. Hotel was beautiful with historic architecture and vintage furniture
Cons: Walls were thin and you could hear your neighbors' movements
Pros: The staff were very courteous.
The hotel decor and history. There was a farmers market on the street in front of the hotel.
Cons: There was some minor damage on the bathroom counter. Just an eyesore, nothing major.
The tv was old but it worked fine.
Pros: The most polite, friendly, and helpful staff I have encountered at a hotel in awhile. The hotel itself was located in a perfect spot in town with lots of food places and stores close by. The fact the this hotel has such a historic history, being that it is 112 years old, made it all the more fascinating.
Cons: Loved everything!
Pros: The customer service was amazing and the room I picked was smaller than I thought and they upgraded me for free and the new room was amazing and we had a great time there!!! It was close to lots of sites we visited and we had a great trip!!!!
Cons: I didn't like the stairs and the elevators were far from the room due to the fact that we have to pack a lot because we have a baby but the bell hop helped us and they accommodated our every need!!!
Cons: It appeared the valet used my car for personal use. Found papers in the front seat of my car not belonging to me when I picked up my car after my stay. Very concerning.
Pros: Absolutely charming historic hotel located in the heart of downtown Monterey! 5 minute drive to the aquarium and a five minute walk to the beach and Fisherman's Wharf. Stayed two nights with our young family with 3 kids, and they loved every bit down to how they folded the napkins and toilet paper prior to our stay. Breakfast was overflowing with ripe strawberries and Boyd's coffee, and the staff dug up a corkscrew to keep and some wine glasses so we could enjoy our bottle from wine country. All in all, wish we could have stayed longer, and very pleased with its prime location and roaring 20's charm.
Cons: Parking was slightly challenging but we were always able to find some spots on the street.
Pros: Great location and easy walking to all things Monterey.
Cons: Old boutique hotel with no provided parking.
Pros: clean & quite. great central location!
Cons: less bulkier furniture in the room so a small table & chair can be accommodated. one can't sit on the bed at all times!!
Located 3.2 mi (5.1 km) from the airport, The Monterey Hotel offers a great location, putting you within just a 10-minute walk of Maritime Museum and Fisherman's Wharf. Guests can visit the spa to be pampered with deep-tissue massages, body wraps, or facials. A fitness center and a spa tub are other highlights, and rooms at this Victorian hotel offer up nice touches like pillowtop beds with premium linens.
Pros: Very roomy, clean and close to fisherman's wharf. Walking distance to several restaurants.
Pros: It was pretty spacious and the front desk girl was really nice.
Cons: Room wasn't the cleanest, and the walls were really thin, you could hear everything going on next door.
Pros: Location was perfect. Close to all restaurants.
Cons: Noise level from above room and street noise. Also, pictures on website make this hotel look amazing when it's not.
Pros: We were pleasantly surprised with the gorgeous room that featured high vaulted wooden cross-hatched ceilings, a romantic fireplace and balcony, two showers, a comfy couch with huge wall mounted tv, and a cute little kitchenette/dining area. It was super close to the wharf which is a huge plus.
Cons: They charged me for the bottle of water I took in the fridge so be careful. It's a trap!
Pros: Great location, friendly staff. We stayed as a family and our daughter loved all the beautiful flowers. Easy walking distance to the beach and Downtown Monterey.
Pros: booked the suite and hence was quite spacious for a family of three.
breakfast was continental but had some hot stuff like oatmeals and was ok to take back to room and eat with the family.
Cons: Parking was extra which was not revealed till we checked in.
a stiff $20 per day per car.
which given other hotels were not charging, felt like nickel and diming
Pros: my boyfriend and i loved the shower.. water got hot really fast and amazing water pressure. Our room was a lot larger than we had anticipated, which was great. It almost felt like a tiny home during our 4 night stay. We also loved how close it was to the downtown area and lots of good restaurants. Only 1 mile from the aquarium, we walked there and back. overall had a wonderful time at this hotel, we even stayed an extra night.
Cons: I didn't like the continental breakfast. the first morning was ok, bagels muffins and fruit with coffee and juice was nice. But by the second morning i was over it. More variety would have been nice for the price per night at the hotel.
Pros: it was a very nice room and very spacious.
Cons: It was expensive and did not have air conditioning.
Pros: Rooms are very warm, inviting, and comfortable.
Cons: Would appreciate it if you would install a Tesla charger (electric car) in your garage during your renovations. Tesla will give the wall charger to you upon request, you just have to install.
Pros: The grounds are very unique and allow for areas to relax outside. It is also close to Fisherman's Warf and the downtown area.
Cons: I didn't like the fact that I kept finding items left by the previous guest in to room (i.e. wrappers, tags, debris, etc.). For what was charged, I would have expected more for breakfast. A Holiday Inn Express has a more comprehensive breakfast.
Pros: the property was nice, and appearance above average. The location was excellent, and adjacent to the historical downtown and the wharf. A mile to the aquarium.
Cons: My concerns were with continental breakfast, which was included, and very inferior, with stale croissants, etc. also stingy with towels and linens in room. Silly.
Cons: noise from street was awful

Cons: Paid LOTS of money for a room with a king size bed. This place is NOISY. The sound of people flushing their toilets or running their showers is incredible. The banged up used furniture in our room needs replacing. Knobs were missing from the end tables and chest. The upholstery on the two chairs were pathetic.
We parked on the street because this hotel does not have enough parking spaces to accommodate guests.
WILL NOT STAY HERE AGAIN.
Pros: The location is perfect!
Cons: The filth and beat up furniture...scummy place!
Pros: Located right as you get downtown, it is walking distance to everything. This makes finding parking a nonissue. Yay. The breakfasts were homemade and nice. Quiche, fresh fruit slices, muffins in addition to the usual fare. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable.
Cons: The furniture was scuffed and worn which made a poor first impression.
Pros: Good location.
Cons: grossly overpriced motel.
