Nothing. It was close to where I wanted to be which is why I booked it. I checked in to the hotel and then left because it was smelly and the place and staff were creepy and scared me and my son. There was no one at the desk when I arrived except a cockatoo. I called around for 5 minutes or so before anyone showed up.
Cottage was moldy smelling. The bed sheets appeared as if They had been slept on. The bed spread was dirty and had something stuck to it.
It was conveniently located. The door to the cabin and the bathroom windows were missing curtains, no privacy. The bed spread and carpet has seen better days. They looked dirty. The bath shower curtain was too small and it was only for decoration, water went out. No bathroom rugs.
Convenient fairly priced Starbucks is on the other side of hotel. Need security escort for children to go eat or Starbucks being casino is in the middle and also the restaurant are there as well. I just went to the outside to eat during my stay.
Much more than expected. Casino is top notch. Have been to casino on many occasions. Our first time to the resort/ hotel side. We will return. Met or beat our expectation.
The restaurants are fabulous ... combined, you can find a simple grilled cheese to a uniquely prepared top choice veal porterhouse and a lot of choices in-between. Excellent service from all the staff and plenty around to help you with anything you want. The casino is well maintained. Can't come up with anything I didn't like.
The entire staff was very kind, friendly, professional, helpful and efficient. We enjoyed our stay and hope to be back
The rooms could use more bath towels. While it was purported to be a smoke free hotel room, there was the smell of cigarette smoke in the casino areas that was off-putting.
Nothing at all My room was dirty and had bed bugs ! plus I had a very unpleasant time it was boring nothing to do unless you go there to gamble or play gulf .Not suitable for a family with small children you have to be escorted everywhere the restaurants are located in the casino and you can't enter unless someone escorts you to and from,so that becomes very annoying
We loved the facilities and restaurants. Casino allows smoking but rest of the hotel is smoke free. The hidden resort fees at check out. Close to $100 extra
When we checked in we were given a choice, wait for a room a few hours or accept one on a lower floor. As my 4 year old couldn't wait to get started we took the room. The room had a putrid smell, I thought like old gym socks, we later learned actually sewer / cesspool smell. Room was a little sticky as well. After coming back to room from water park, rm still smelled, toilet started to act up. At 10;30 PM we finally complained, took over an hour and 2 calls to get maintenance in. He fixed it , but broke again after 2 uses. Lunchtime we came back to rm to find the toilet in the bath tub and workers in & out of room. Although all staff apologized and were nice, they gave us late checkout & a coupon for Starbucs, they did not make us feel better or give us a satisfactory resolution. I am sure this does not happen to all, but it did to us and our experience to Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos was not a good one.
The lines went quick and water rides rocked! The beds are too soft.
Villas are separate little units that aren't connected so no worries of being kept up by loud neighbors. Themed rooms are a nice change from the usual bed and bath hotels that are everywhere. Mold for days in the shower and jacuzzi. Bring your own cleaning supplies if you want a little peace of mind for your own personal hygiene. Each restock of towels seems to be riddled with mystery stains of all colors. Highly recommend checking towels before grabbing one to wrap or dry yourself with.
The location Do not go by the website pictures. The room's interior was old and in desperate need of new carpeting, wallpaper, furniture. The exterior of the buildings were just plain unattractive. Felt like a concrete roadside motel that wasn't updated since 1975 that charges way too much. Definitely not "Romantic"....
It was 1 minute close to horseback riding; which was great! The breakfast food was good. The rooms were clean. There was plenty of activity to do free in the resort. There's a $120 hold on top of an $83 fee. We was informed about a $75 fee not $83 which was ok. The $120 hold would have been ok had we been informed! Also the resort can be all inclusive as far as the meals but we weren't given the option; which sucked.
The quite peaceful relaxing mood
The room was nice. It was secluded and had a romantic vibe to it. The staff tried to make up for the room not being ready. We arrived at 3:30, check in was at 3:30 but we did not receive a room until 7:30pm. We continued to get the run around for why our room was not ready timely.
i loved this place. clean. friendly staff. very adorable. nothing like the chain hotels. had to go outside for cell service. wifi worked great though.
Overall no complaints The shower temp it was hot one second and cold the next. Not consistent and cell service was not that great. But what can you do
Staff was very friendly/helpful. The room was very clean w/ fridge and microwave & had everything I needed. I've been in 5 star hotels that don't have little things like shower caps available. Breakfast was good. Forgot something there and they immediately located it and held it for me. All in all great standard more than I expected!
Great accommodates for a great price. I was unable to swim though that was due to families with small children staying that weekend so I let them enjoy. Maybe next time :)
Tons to do and a beautiful setting. The lake could not be more beautiful and the activities will keep you busy from morning till night. The decor is dated and the food is horrible.
Skytop Lodge is historic and filled with class. The grounds are beautiful, there are a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, the staff is courteous, and the overall operations of the establishment are smoothly run. The main lodge has a lot of history so don't expect a modern building with contemporary decor. That said, we found our standard room elegantly decorated, comfortable, very clean, and equipped with a spacious bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. We visited during the week at a relatively less crowded time I presume, and we really enjoyed having fewer guests around. One front desk staff member seemed newer and not very knowledgeable with a few of our questions, but he tried to help and was courteous nonetheless. That's a minor point. Also, the front desk made a significant billing error upon my checkout...but quickly corrected it after I noticed and pointed it out. I didn't have a perfect experience with the staff, but they were friendly and willing to help which were overall positive points and outweighed the shortcomings for me.
Organized, clean, beautiful, many activities. All restaurants were not open during stay. Host at Windsor restaurant was a bit rude when setting us and toward me when I asked him a question.
Beautiful hotel, luckily was able to upgrade our very small room to a larger one which made a big difference. Nature walk with Rick was a definite highlight. Plan on going back in the summer. Our initial room was claustrophobic.
Beautiful setting. The king bed was 2 twin mattress pushed together with a 2 inch height difference, making rolling in bed difficult. The place is highly overpriced for the overall stay. Very disappointed and will never return.
The resort was clean and offered many enjoyable activities. The location is beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful. There are lots of quiet places inside and out where one can sit for a few moments to recharge. The surrounding area includes a lot of shopping options, including a Walmart for any forgotten items. The room left a lot to be desired. The AC system was so loud you couldn't hear the TV when running and it jolts you awake. The bed was positioned under a slanted ceiling and I bumped my head getting up. Water pressure was so low that it was barely able to keep the shower on. We arrived at 4:30 and didn't get a room until 6:00. The breakfast buffet was a little pricey at $18 per person, but there is a Perkins nearby. There was no coffee maker in the room, although the complimentary coffee in the lobby was ready by 5:00 a.m. Worst of all, I had to drive a mile for ice cream :)
I wish we could have stayed longer. Next time we stay it will be an extended stay. Great place for the price..
The staff members were very accommodating. Felt very comfortable just staying with myself and toddler. Other reviews commented on the decor but I didn't find it distasteful at all, nor will it defer me from staying again. The only thing bad I can say about our stay was the slamming doors throughout the night. I'm a light sleeper so I was up all night. My daughter slept right through it though.
100 year old hotel that has been very carefully preserved in the old fashion furnishings, yet everything was clean and well appointed. Stayed for a Friday night, wanted something different than the usual cinder block hotel overnight stay - this is the place. The staff was extremely friendly and eager to assist, even the night facilities manager was kind enough to open the indoor pool and walk us down the into the pool and recreation area later at night just so we could see it. There were kids in the arcade and pool table area having fun and the hotel in-house movie theatre was showing a movie about 11pm. Lots going on! The bed was one of the most comfortable beds that I have ever slept in at a hotel, and the room despite being over 100 years old was up to date, clean and very pleasant. The morning was great with the beautiful mountain views. This is a hard property to maintain because of the age of the hotel and they have worked really hard to keep in up and it shows! We will definitely stay again, and the next time try the spa, it looked wonderful. There wasn't any thing that was negative, except that we were coming in after dark and the hotel signage on the roads and lighting to get to the property could be a little better for those not familiar with the country roads.
Beautiful location in the Poconos Historic, rustic feel Green initiatives Comfortable bed Golf course Room wasn't well cleaned(Laurel Lodge) Service in the bar wasn't attentive Front desk at spa had no interest in giving us a tour or explaining services Need larger/better staffed counter selling personal items (didn't have a toothbrush) Wedding was going on during our stay and we were very clearly not a priority of the hotel
Breakfast buffet for $13.99. 2 rounds make it worth the money. Freshly made mix n match omelettes were fantastic! The king sized bed was comfortable. Front desk staff were accommodating. Parking was easy. Amenities were available. Didn't expect the place to have such an "old" vibe. Cant blame them since the place was founded in the 1900s or something. Seemed a bit too rustic for my taste. Hot water took minutes to come out the faucet. Shower water pressure was too low. Update the rooms. Everything just seemed so outdated, except for the flat screen TV in the room. Renovate the place. It looks very old and outdated.
Proximity to work Dirty rooms. Need upgrading
It was close to everything and cheap. The bed was comfortable the room was very clean. Everything worked and the staff was very helpful.
Close to everything tourists want to see Cleaning Room service knocked hard on door at 8am and then just opens the door without warning. Husband and wife have no privacy
My son threw up all over the bed and the staff was very friendly and addressed the issues immediately. Everyday the staff was nice to my family and son.
We loved the convienient location. All we had to do was walk a block up to get to a bunch of bars and shops. It was about 10-20 min drive from many outdoor activities. We enjoyed that breakfast was included. While not a luxury hotel, it was very clean and the staff at the front desk was always very friendly and eager to help. None of the Tvs were working during our stay due to a cable issue so that was a huge problem. Also the woman who worked the breakfast buffet was extremely rude and made us feel very uncomfortable while trying to eat. She would stand next to us and stare as we got out food. The one day we got there about half hour before breakfast was supposed to end and she started aggressively yanking out all the plugs of the appliances right out from under us as we were trying to use them. Last, I felt that the pricing was a little high for the quality of the stay. Overall We would definitely stay here again though!
We chose this inn because past reviews stated it was "clean". We found this to be true. Walkable distance to downtown stroudberg with plenty of restaurants, pubs, shops. Smoking outside the main entrance. Stinky.
This Hampton Inn is one of our favorites. Great staff, clean comfortable accommodations, nice pool and exercise room, and the best Hampton Inn breakfast in PA. Our thanks to them for being such a reliable stopover on our trips from NY to Ohio and back!
Nothing Disappointed in room for cost. Paper thin walls had to change rooms for noise. Continental breakfast was horrible. Ammenedies poor
Rooms should have individual thermostats. Was up most of the night adjusting temperature as it was either too hot or too cold
The only positive is the hotel is part of Wyndham and I will get points for my stay which justify my one star. This hotel is the worst hotel I've stayed at in all my years of traveling. (1) I called to add a room to my reservation and was told by the representative the hotel would love to take my money but is sold out. I found that weird but ok ... (2) I arrived at the hotel a hour and 15 minutes early than the standard 3pm checkin. I was quickly informed that if I wanted to checkin I had to pay a $20 early checkin fee...WHAT?!?! No thank you (3) at 2:30 I was Iike uhm can I checkin .. It's only a 30 minutes ...I was finally told yes .. However, I was only able to get one key as the other two rooms on my reservation was still being clean. If I paid the $20 extra as stated in point 2 ... I still won't have had access to my room. (4) I got back from my event and my keys didn't work .. Walked to the front desk and got a new key. The new key didn't work either... Called from another room and was told they had to find the maintenance guy and will send someone up eventually... What? ... Walked down as the maintenance guy arrived and he let me in. (5) free breakfast includes bread (white, wheat and cinnamon) , watery scrambled eggs, hard corn muffin, and cereal. It did not look appetizing at all. Additional notes: hotel and room smells... Decor and furniture are outdated...
Nothing The room smelled like mildew. There was a door to the next room that for safety shouldn't,t have been there. It was loud and noisy outside with screeching tires and beeping horns in the middle of the night.
It was quiet/relatively empty It was dirty & staff was both unpleasant & difficult to understand
The location is excellent, the staff was friendly. We have been going there for 5 years And they have always treated us well.
There is nothing to report likable with the exception of the young girl working the counter. The place is a hundred year old, debilitated shamble. The carpets are disgustingly filthy dirty and the showers were covered with mold. The place reeked with a horrible odor and I would not eat there even if the food was free all day. The parking lot and external appearance look like a brothel/crack house in Detroit. bathroom floor had smeared poop on the floor. That was when I ran for my health. Do not ever go here.
Location worked well for us as we attended event at Wolf Hollow Country Club in Delaware Water Gap. Breakfast was much better than we had expected. Staff very nice and helpful. Facilities are a bit outdated. The staff seem to work hard to keep facility clean. Important to note, NO LONGER pet friendly as advertised.
Noises kids running around on 2 ND floor.
The staff was friendly and helpful. There was a nice breakfast available and a great restaurant attached to the hotel.
the staff was friendly
Splendid! Game arcade should have been all free, like it was presented in the brochyre
My Husband, mother, infant daughter and I stayed in a 2-bedroom villa over the MLK weekend. We were thrilled to get so much space at such a reasonable price. It was the same price as some of the other area resorts with twice the space for my family. The location was wonderful. In close proximity to many ski areas, restaurants, outlets, etc. Our personal villa was very clean and spacious. It has a working electric fireplace and a backporch, which was nice. All kitchen utensils were included which allowed us to make meals and snacks when we wanted to. Also, there was a washer/ dryer in our unit! We had a great time at the pool and in the lodge area. There are lots of activities there for kids and adults alike. When we and after we checked in, we were then directed to the sales staff who tried to set us up with a timeshare presentation the next day. Despite their best efforts we continuously declined. It was awkward, but we stayed firm and got out of it. Like everyone else, I felt that the decor and bedding were a little outdated. It would have been nice at the very least to see updated comforters in the rooms. It definitely would not prevent me from coming back, it would just be a nice feature. Finally, there was a Jacuzzi in our unit which we wanted to use, but it had not been turned on or serviced for a while and when we turned it on, a bunch of brown and black speckles came out. It was disappointing but not the end of the world. Overall would highly recommend!
The setting of the resort and the location of apartments throughout the woodlands makes it ideal for a peaceful and relaxing break. The apartments do need a little upgrading - acceptable as they are - but could easily generate a wow factor with some attention to detail.
Indoor pool Very dirty and very outdated. Unchaperoned kids running around late at night. Housekeeping knocked on our door 4 times before check out to see when we were leaving and woke the kids and baby up it wasnt even 11 am yet anf we all had a late night
Quiet No continental brekfast for cree.
Good spot for quick layover Furniture outdated and appeared in poor condition
Food prices for breakfast were good. And it's easy access. And centrally located. Friendly staff. The decor. The dark , gloomy and seamingly dirty bar and restaurant. Everything is covered in fake plant material. I do mean the entire ceiling. God only know what kind of dust and grease is on them. Vending machines were either broke or empty.
The resort was beautiful. The pillows were uncomfortable for my taste. It looked like it should be right out of Dirty Dancing. Beautiful and the room was quite large.
It was so secluded, very romantic and well worth the stay! The staff was so friendly and there was even a cr to greet you at the lobby. So cute, will come back!!
The location The restaurant closed at 730PM despite posting hours until 10PM since 'they were slow'??! We had a 10 hour motorcycle ride and chose the location based solely on an onsite restaurant. Unacceptable! Don't post amenities if they are not reliable! Dishonest!

Very nice. Clean and the staff was very helpful. The price is right. I will definitely stay there again in the future. The layout of the hotel and finding places in the hotel is a little confusing even with the map given at the front desk. The description said the room had a microwave but there wasn't one. But the solved the problem very quickly and brought one up.
It was in a nice location near bushkill falls. The room needed maintenance, with peeling paint, and honestly for a premium hotel in the area, it was only at Days Inn level of fit and finish. Common areas, hallways and stairways seemed worn and not really maintained.
Close to area attractions. Restaurant was very good. The room was supposed to have a microwave in it (which we needed) and it didn't. I spoke to the front desk twice and both times was told they would bring one and they never did.

The heated floors and room service with linen and towels. Nothing at all; wonderful, peaceful, comfortable experience.
The bed was comfy and the room had bygone era charm. We loved the porch and grounds. Despite all of the things we didn't like, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I agree with the reviewers who think it needs updating. There were 2 weddings happening on the night we stayed, and the music from each throbbed throughout our room until, which made it difficult to relax. Our room was on the side of the inn where the long walkway to the function rooms was. People's normal talking voices could be heard. Luckily there was no rowdiness.
This is a beautiful country inn. The inn, cottages , and grounds were pristine. Staff was nice. I stayed in cottage #38 which has a porch that looks over a serene wooded area. I arrived near dusk and as I came onto the porch of my cottage, five doe were just below in the open woods. I sat on the porch and watched the sun set. Very peaceful. The cottage I was in had a shared porch with the adjoining cottage, put no one was there most of the evening. The cottage was very nice, impeccably clean, great heater when the evening turned chilly. Wifi worked, but slow. If I went bak I would stay in the cottage again. It would have been nice to have a small coffee/tea maker in the cottage (like hotels have) or a small microwave. Had to go to the main inn to get a cup of tea. Also, as other reviewers mentioned, the walls are paper thin. The couple that had the adjoining cottage came in around 11pm and were only talking to each other but I could just about hear everything. Had they been a rowdy bunch it would have very much detracted from my stay. They finally stopped talking by midnight and it was quiet again.
