9.6 Excellent
Pros: No better way of getting to know Namur than staying on a river boat right in the middle of town. And you will never meet nicer hosts than Martine & Bernard. Upon arrival they invite you to have a glass of wine on deck with them and guests already staying there. Instantly makes you feel right at home. And should you by any chance be a foodie and want to explore the gastronomy of the area, they know all there is to know and will guide you perfectly. And Namur has a lot to offer in terms of great restaurants and bars - a lot.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hostess was very helpful and smiley including helping to arrange a restaurant for dinner. Communal areas were well appointed. Good opportunity to meet other residents at meet and greet style drink. Breakfast was a good selection, particularly local cheeses/meats etc. Great for a quirky nights stay, could have happily stayed another couple of nights. Cabin was realistically sized - you are on a boat after all. Parking was right on the quayside.
Cons: Directions for parking could be better described.

Pros: Very private and Madeleine suite was exceptional - like a split level apartment oozing charm

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place, decoration. Helpful hosts.
Cons: Not so central
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a charming b and b in a quiet part of Namur. It's a short walk to a restaurant overlooking the river. The b and b was clean, and we had plenty of space, with a lovely view of the garden. We slept well in the comfy bed. I used my schoolboy French but the owners spoke English - apparently the English "make good guests". There was a local bus if you wanted to venture down into the town.
Cons: Nothing for us.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely flat located on the hill in the surroundings of Namur Citadel. Free parking in front of the flat, with a nice spacious dining room and a lovely bedroom. Great welcome from the landlord and outstanding breakfast, with freshly baked brioches and lovely cheese.
Cons: Maybe a little bit too far from the downtown, you definitely need a car to get around, but it's no big deal.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The nice and very quiet surroundings.
Cons: My length is 1.80 m. I scraped my bald head against the ceiling (aow...) above the bath when I stood erect after showering. Suggested to at least put up a clear warning sign for people above 1.75 m. By the way, I did not like the fact that the shower head cannot be positioned above my head. I also found that, as in many b&b's, the lighting above the mirror is poorly positioned and/or insufficient to have a clean shave.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a little gem . Monique and Alain looked after us from arrival to dep.
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: breakfast simply one of the best of my travelling. flat and garden are amazing, quiet area. the host is very kind .

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Literally on the river cycle path, storage for bikes, large room with king size bed, desk, spacious attic room. Whisper quiet. Very good sleep quality. Hosts were friendly, welcoming, helpful and engaging and they speak perfect English. We pre ordered dinner which was very good and the breakfasts were excellent with the most delicious pastries. There is a small ferry boat a five minute walk from the accommodation which takes you into the centre of the old town or it’s an 8 minute bike ride. Namur was well worth a two or three night stay, a beautiful city with relatively few tourists.
Cons: Nothing. Obviously as it’s an attic room there are two flights of stairs, so be aware of this.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The host is very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and tidy. The breakfast was very good. Parking spot beside the place. Quite neighborhood. The place is actually a single private room (Airbnb like).
Cons: Lack of privacy between the room and the restroom/shower. Narrow stairs to the upper room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Cosy room, with everything you need in it. Friendly, kind hosts that make you feel welcome in their home. Good breakfast with some homemade products.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful (my car was dirty because of travelling and birds, they lent me car cleaning equipment. Parking not a problem on the street. Warm and friendly greeting, good advise for viewing the town. Excellent breakfast included and evening meal (optional extra). Spoke excellent English, and had time to talk and make conversation. Many times they asked what I would like, this made the stay very personal, a nice touch.
Cons: The location is quiet but a long walk into town (10-15 minutes), okay for me but maybe a bit far for some.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely excellent stay. Very helpful owners.. Great location, within 20 minute walk to centre or town.

Château De Namur - Namur - Building
6
8.7 Excellent (1,515 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Namur, Château de Namur is within a 15-minute walk of Citadelle (Citadel) and Terra Nova. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. Free self parking is available onsite.
7.1 Good
Pros: The spacious room The bed Easy parking Hotel setting - in parkland Namur and riversides are interesting to walk around. But best to drive down from the hotel
Cons: Breakfast was OK although random tables within the breakfast area turned out to be set for dinner, not breakfast. We and 2 following couples were politely removed from these "wrong" tables. A sign saying "not for breakfast", or even setting them for breakfast would have been better. Enquiry at reception about the whereabouts of the Citadel - arguably the main tourist interest - merely resulted in "this is the citadel". But after extensive walking it turned out that the Citadel, in terms of the defensive structures (v impressive) were at the opposite end of the citadel parkland, where the hotel is situated. In fact more practical to drive from the hotel to the Citadel fort. But well worth the effort to locate. The hotel is difficult to find, limited signage. Namur parking - not easy but free once you have managed it (riverside)
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bed, clean and comfortable room.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very comfotable & quiet room with a unique design. Convenient location in a calm & relaxing environment. All in all it was a great experience.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice location
Cons: Funny mood lights Food way too expensive
9.2 Excellent
Cons: the bathroom floor looked like it had not been cleaned
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Clean and impressive building
Cons: We were not allowed to select our meal, even though we were a lacarte because we were 8 people
7.5 Good
Pros: Most staff very pleasant. Room ok but just awful lighting system as other reviewers have mentioned. Gimmicky and terrible to use and not pleasant at all.Comfortable bed, quiet at night and bathroom with normal lighting and good walk in shower. The room was at the back of the hotel. Evening meal was excellent but breakfast was mediocre. My husband is gluten intolerant and they made a mistake with dinner despite having advised the restaurant a few times and reception on check in, -- however they rectified this and reduced the restaurant bill which was a nice gesture and appreciated by us. However, due to the lighting problems we we probably would not return.
Cons: The entrance hall was uninspiring and off putting as one entered. The Bar area was very scruffy and again not inviting. The bar staff were appalling, not helpful or friendly or attentive. We speak enough French to communicate well but they pretended not to understand. The whole of the ground floor looks like it is used for conferences etc. Not the ambiance one would expect from a 4 star Chateau Hotel.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: best location in town, easy parking, beautiful building, perhaps Namur/ Namen is not the most vibrant city, this hotel makes the entire city proud and makes your visit worthwhile
Cons: minor detail: took me for ever to run a bath
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were comfortable and spacious. The bed is super comfy. The hotel is quiet. The restaurant is especially good.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The building, location, comfort
Cons: Too many inexperienced staff

8.8 Excellent
Pros: A fascinating old villa with river view. Very friendly and charming staff. Very good breakfast. Clean room and comfortable bed. There’s a nice restaurant just across the street where we had dinner.
Cons: The decor of the room is a bit dated and there’s only a bathtub with hand shower (no walk in shower). On the other hand the rooms were very large and clean and we had a pleasant stay so overall we were happy with the rooms.

Pros: Could be amazing. Beautiful building with quality annex design. Now needs a little ‘touching up’ following initial conversion. Within walking distance of Namur centre but route is mixed.
Cons: Late check in. Wi-fi - I could not get it to work. No eating places nearby. Shared bathroom (although this was clearly stated)

Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
7.9 Good
Pros: Host is nice and forthcoming. The rooms are set up nicely with attention to detail and the facilities are clean.
Cons: Just to say something. It can be difficult to find. But thats all.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great Place, owners were friendly and helpful , we had plenty of room to park our 5 motorbikes . The rooms were tidy and all facilities were there . Overall i would definitely recommend . Breakfast was basic but nice with fresh bread and coffee etc.
Cons: Location is a half hour walk to town although we didn't find it a problem i would recommend walking there and taxi back
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Secluded, peaceful, lovely building, furnishings are clean and we'll looked after. The owner is very warm and friendly.
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The peace and quiet and breakfast was nice but a typical continental one. You were able to use the coffee machine and kettle in the kitchen if you wanted a drink.
Cons: The hotel is tucked away at the top of a very narrow twisting lane but the room we had was right at the top of the building and it was virtually impossible to stand upright due to the sloping ceilings. The bathroom was shared but I knew that before booking.
5.0 Okay
Cons: I couldn't pay by card, just in cash.
7.9 Good
Pros: Although basic it served our needs perfectly. Very comfortable bed. Very quiet location. Good night's sleep. Self service breakfast was adequate. Proprietor organised taxi into town for evening meal.
Cons: Obviously this is new project with some work still to do i.e electric lighting and plug sockets and some plaster boarding. This didn't worry me but might affect some guests.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Peaceful. Owner very friendly.
6.7 Good
Pros: The location and style if the house. Nice kitchen and sitting room. Friendly host.
Cons: Rooms are quite dusty and a little bit of painting...
Les Tanneurs de Namur - Namur - Building
9
8.4 Excellent (1,513 reviews)

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Grill Restaurant / Breakfast / General ambience
Cons: Too many steps on slippery marble floors within the building and the bedroom
9.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is so nice. The bed was amazing, the whole place looks really good (my girlfriend got jealous when I showed the the pictures so we have to got there together now). Reasonably priced.
Cons: The location wasn't nicest but ok, literally a 2 min walk to town, the sauna in the room was standing room only so a bit pointless.
7.5 Good
Pros: Central location in Namur with good parking which was easy to drive to. Very good reception staff. Interesting historic building. The room was a good size with a large comfortable bed and a balcony. We paid a discounted price which made it good value for money.
Cons: The hotel is not in the best part of town so there are some dodgy looking bars close by. The layout of the room was constrained by the nature of the building, so not everything was as convenient as it would be in a purpose built building, but obviously you can't have the charm and quirkiness without sacrificing some mod cons. Also, not the hotel's fault, but August (when we went this time ) is not the right time to visit Namur - it was very hot, with lots of crowds and mosquitoes. The previous time we were here it was autumn; no mozzies, much quieter, and the city looked very romantic with the river and streets glistening in the rain.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfy beds
Cons: No tea and coffee making facilities
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location,good restaurant,close to bars,restaurants,river.
Cons: No lift to actual floors so you have to carry cases up and down a narrow winding staircase
6.7 Good
Pros: The room was okay. The staff was friendly.
Cons: It was REALLY loud. I could not sleep without noise cancelling headphones. Not worth it to me.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food absolutely fantastic
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing hotel, it is like a labyrinth though, with lots of tiny and crazy staircases. Each time we left our third floor room we ended up going a different way to the reception (and once was though the kitchen!!). Bot wow what a room, more a suite really, it was quirky, comfortable and beautiful with a fabulous spa bath. The best room we have stayed in! The hotel is also only a short walk into the city centre.
Cons: It has a minibar - but not tea or coffee making facilities. The breakfast was a bit disappointing for the size and quality of the hotel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Directly at the center of Namur with really short ways to restaurants and more.

Reception staff very helpful. 24 hour carpark fee is €9.00 if prepaid with hotel. Soft drinks and snacks from vending machine beside hotel reception. Good shopping areas behind hotel block.
Cons: Area outside hotel front door looked a bit grotty with some people loitering at times. Hotel entrance on first floor via a old-fashioned lift or stairs from lobby behnd remote-operated front door. No restaurant or common room to relax out of bedroom
9.6 Excellent

Pros: The building is lovely and there are great facilities onsite, including table football, a BBQ, a bar and a nice terrace.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Service clean food location
Cons: Bed not comfortable
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hostel is clean and even in shared rooms, there is a private shower and sink. At the reception the man is very helpful. Everything seemed clean and breakfasts are fine with food/drinks getting replenished if they run out. It is approximately 15 minutes of waking to the centre.
Cons: If you travel by train, it is almost 30 minutes walking to the station, however, you can go through the city centre and do some sightseeing on the way. Therefore, my only objection is to missing personal shelves at the bedside in the shared dormitory. Also, despite being a "youth hostel", most of the clientelle are older couples or families with children.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a beautiful, clean hostel with lots of amenities. A short, lovely walk along the river to town. The staff were delightful, particularly Rémy, without whose recommendations and good conversation my quiet trip would have been completely uneventful!
Cons: Not a thing to improve in my opinion.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very clean place. Good breakfast. A little bit far from the city center but it’s so close to the river. So it’s calm and picturesque
7.1 Good
Pros: Nice riverside location offering a nice walk into and from town. Friendly staff and hostel in a fair condition.
Cons: Sadly the locking system on our dorm door did not work which meant we had to get a member of staff to let us in each time which was an inconvenience. Breakfast was on the basic side.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good brekfast i dont eat normaly but you can choose what to eat.
Cons: I like it all the hostel has a great view next to canal. Parking was free. Quite place. Casino is not very far from there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I enjoyed the location near the river and the quiet area.Good breakfast and friendly helpful staff . I liked the traditional building of this hostel.
Cons: -
7.9 Good
Cons: The kitchen needs a freshening up, I think. And I didn't like that other guests smoked on the balcony with door open. The smoke filled all the corridor. I think smoking should only be allowed outdoors.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: good surrounding by river with good breakfast included

Pros: The location is perfect! About a 10 min walk to the train station and you can see the Citadel from the window. Close walk to lots of restaurants and museums too. The top-floor room is so cute and has an amazing view.
Cons: Not really a problem, but the single room’s bathroom is a floor down from the room.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good location, very nice gesign, window view, comfortable bad
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very cozy room with a nice view. A lot of small details like mirrors, good shower gel, teapot. Helpful host, she solved all my problems, thank you!
Cons: Couldn’t find how to turn on the light in the toilet, the switch there is used to turn on the shower light.
6.3 Good
Pros: good location. near a big parking building. right in the center of the city. friendly receptionist
Cons: the matrass is to thin and shallow. the staircase is very difficult if you have a heavy luggage
7.5 Good
Pros: Very clean
Cons: No door on the toilet
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I enjoyed my room for adventurers, its wooden floor and tasteful decorations. Lots of windows gave space and air, and I also appreciated that the curtains kept light out in the night.
Cons: There were many restaurants at the street next to house and it was a bit noicy, as people stayed out in the bars both nights until 3 am. But the host had given some ear plugs to use, and that helped a bit.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: clean, comfortable, warmed
Cons: reception not available on Sunday = no possibility to keep the baggage after departure and collect it when needed as it could be usually done in most standart hotels (however, in our case the staff suggested one time but unfortunately it was not possible for us)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Well located and nicely decorated, BnB city offers cosy rooms in the center of Namur, 10 min walk from the train station. Tea and coffee are available in the room, as well ad TV and AC. The street below is lively, but the windows offer good sound proofing. Ear plugs were available as well just in case.
Cons: There is no door between the toilet and the bedroom (!!!). While the toilet is at an angle and you can't see anything from the bed (thankfully), it's still very odd and disconcerting. You definitely need to share with someone you have a vey high level of level of intimacy with.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Central and beside all the bars and restaurants
Cons: A bit dirty and extremely noisy at night.

7.9 Good
Pros: the lobby, breakfast room very stylish, dog friendly, spacious room and bathroom, friendly staff, near the city center.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: More than a little miffed at being charged EUR5 for a bottle of water when I asked your receptionist for a glass of tap water. The temperature outside was 35 degrees and my wife and I had arrived just by motorcycle so were wearing protective gear and crash helmets. Surely a glass of water each was not beyond the remit of your receptionist?
7.5 Good
Pros: A good breakfast. Very clean hotel. Helpful staff.
Cons: Only one chair was provided. View from window was a car-park.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Convenient to stay for the night!
Cons: Not very wheelchair accessible but it was sorted out by the night manager!
7.5 Good
Pros: Comfortable and convenient for my purposes.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: The receptionist asked my friend to pay their bill but it was already paid by me. When he found out that as I told him and he checked, I would expect him to say sorry but he did not apologise at all.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast with very good coffee. Good location near the centre of Namur. Underground car park with easy access to the hotel.
Cons: The air conditioning in our room wasn't working, but we were given another room. The toilet cistern in this room was overflowing. The hotel seems to need some maintenance.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Breakfast could have been better. Coffee was great. The location is great as Namur is not big.
Cons: Variety of food for vegetarians. When I checked out, I was required to pay city tax, which I have actually paid with my main bill. This is more than annoying: watch out.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location, location, location
Cons: Bathroom a little larger

Pros: Close to the River with wonderful views yet close to town.Comfortable room. We would use again.
Cons: We Thought that the Breakfast was overpriced for what was available.Next time we would opt out of the Breakfast.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It was comfortable, quiet and relaxing as a stopping iff point on the long journey from Italy. It was also excellent for an evening trip into the old town of Namur.
Cons: As a disabled person, it was a long walk to the room.
5.7 Okay
Pros: The hotel has a nice feel, good for children, excelent location. Very price/ value.
Cons: I booked the hotel because it has a swimming pool, we had 2 children with us. De pool water was simply ice cold. I complaint about it at the front desk and the manager but with no result , they said the water was always 28 ° I have a pool myself in LA but this temp. was way lower than 28. Everything else was nice, I go back to Dinant regulary but will be hasitating to believe the heathed pool story so I dont know if I will book this hotel.
5.3 Okay
Pros: Hotel comfortable. Spacious rooms. Location is quiet and by the river. Ideal for travel by car.
Cons: Hotel 25 minutes away from city centre by bus. I was there on business so we were provided with transport every morning and evening. Last bus is at 9.22. If you miss this, You have to phone a taxi - walking from city to hotel is out of the question - too far away.

Pros: Location great for the return ferry, room was clean and fresh, biggest bathroom I have ever seen ! Staff friendly and helpful, restaurant on site as well as in Namur which is a short ride away
Cons: The kettle was broken room 6, cup was chipped other wise a great night accomodation
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good and easy acces with safe parking. Friendly staff! Hotel owner was very helpful!
Cons: Breakfast was good, but could be a little bit more.
4.6 Okay
Cons: I had 7 written complaints to the manager. There was no cups or mugs at breakfast. ( they provide them in your room though ). Our room had not been cleaned / tidied after our first night properly. The bed had only had the quilt pulled over. Underneath it was just how we had left it when we got up ! The towels were as we had left them, and not been folded and put straight again. Two mugs had been left on the side dirty. The waste bin hadn't been emptied, and it had a banana skin in it smelling from the day before. The scatter cushions hadn't been put back on the bed, but left on the chairs where I had put them. The drinks cooler did not work, both days our things in there were as hot as if they had not been in . The smell from the bins outside our window was repulsive, and because the weather was so hot and our room was stifling we had to have the windows open! The receptionist came up to our room to see what mess the housekeeper had left, and she brought us a fan because she was surprised as to how hot it was. My husband asked her if it was possible to open the fire door which was at the side of our room, and when both she and my husband tried to open it , they couldn't get it open! Let's hope they never have a fire!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I was here only for a stopover on my way to Spain, so I did not spend a lot of time. When I arrived, I had already had dinner, but (determined by the looks and smell, and the number of what seemed to be local guests) the hotel has a very nice restaurant. The room is really spacious and clean. Beds are a bit too soft for my taste though. Bonus points for the receptionist who speaks fluent Dutch!
Cons: The hotel is situated along a busy road, so you may want to choose a room that does not overlook the road (and the Meuse River). Keep in mind that the hotel in not in a city or town, there seems to be nothing within direct walking distance, except for beautiful nature.
7.1 Good
Pros: The breakfast was good and the restaurant for evening meal was very good
Cons: Smelly drains
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything in the room was perfect for the budget and stars of the hotel. It is clean and the environment is calm. It is far from the center of Namur so if you want to stay there you should have a car.
Cons: The only one thing was the breakfast no bread available only French croissant that I do not like.
7.5 Good
Pros: We only stayed overnight on our way through arriving late and leaving early so perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very easy to find, plenty of free parking. Very good restaurant.

7.1 Good
Pros: Relatively close to the center. Tea/coffee maker. Room is big with a bath. People at the lobby were nice.
Cons: The gentlemen who handled the parking could not help us as he had to go for dinner. Yet parking was free on the street during the night, so after all not a big deal. My friend had a worse experience as his room had no curtain and he couldn't close the window which caused him to sleep only 4 hours because of the heat (no airco) and the noise.
4.2 Okay
Cons: First night we arrived, we were disappointed that we smelled the cigarette smoke that we cannot sleep. My husband went to report at the reception, the nice lady offered to swop to other room that we were pleased. Plus my family and we were not impressed because there is no lift from reception so we had to carry the luggages up the several stairs then to the lift from the first floor to the second floor.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice, quiet, central located , nice view along the Maas river, friendly staff, very good restaurant and delicious dishes
Cons: Air conditioning
4.6 Okay
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Our motorcycles had to be parked on the pavement outside the casino entrance between two cameras as advised to do so by staff! My room looked over a roof with decorative features such as a satellite dish and cigarette butts strewn everywhere, the kettle base was screwed down on the sideboard and the lead would not reach unless you stretched the extension lead that ran the tv and fridge after you had unplugged them first! Oh and the fan also as there is no air con...don’t leave the windows open for fresh air unless you can sleep through sirens and people below. Then you can make your coffee in the paper cup supplied. Bathroom was dirty and dated, carpet had seen better days and was unstuck in places. The bed also seemed to be unlevel with foot end being higher! Also when you are greeted in the foyer by the friendly staff there is a strange aroma which if you stay you can make your own mind up! Budget hotel then yes, it is near the centre so that’s a bonus but in three weeks of travelling Europe we have had breakfast and better amenities for less, this was a mistake for our last night away before heading home and the hotel needs a proper refurb but this will of course cost more for guests in the long run...look elsewhere first to avoid disappointment.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The room was clean and the bed wasn't uncomfortable. Breakfast is also acceptable ! There's buffet with enough choice for anybody. Here also everything was clean. I would say lower middle class. For the rest see what I didn't like.
Cons: I have some trouble climbing stairs and the elevator to the rooms is only reacheable by a lot of stairs. There is no normal room service. You have to fetch a consommation by yourself at the reception. The fact that hotel and Casino are one is not so funny. No parking possibilties in the later evening. The room whas acceptable.
7.9 Good
Pros: Very very kind people (front desk + restaurant + for the parking as well)
Cons: The cleaness into the bathroom.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The view from a very big window is stunning and the room is very spacious. The room was clean and comfortable as well. We came earlier to check in and the guy from reception told the room is ready and gave the keys. Overall very nice experience
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely view of river Merseyside from our room. Very good value for money
Cons: Restaurant was expensive.
7.1 Good
Pros: I had the room 111 and it was super big. Breakfast is good Parking is available for 5€ a day (fair price)
Cons: Hotel is a bit old and would need some renovations No Air condition so it can get HOT
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice view facing the river
Cons: lift can only be used from 1st floor. before that need to climb the stairs with all luggage. no porter to carry your luggage case.
