Cons: N/A (we liked everything).
Gorgeous setting. A little older. Rather expensive.
Pros: View of the lake
Cons: Lady working at breakfast was crabby
Staff very friendly as well as very friendly to our dog. Dogs were allowed on the out door patio with you for breakfast which was very important. Room was very clean and was what we asked for, romantic on lower floor so we could take the dog for a swim. Could not complain about anything, great value.
Pros: That it's dog friendly, located on the lake continental breakfast as well
Pros: Great location
Cons: The room had a funk. That funk that old rooms get somewhat febreeze cover up coupled with carpet shampoo and smoke . Used to manage an older hotel call Purlife.ca, can't remember phone # but they can get the funk out for sure, they did for us.

Wonderful staff. Great location if catching the ferry to Vancouver. The room was more like a little apartment with all the comforts of home. Staff were very helpful in suggesting where to go for our one night there. Walked the entire sea wall to catch a ferry to Protection Island and the Dinghy Dock Pub for some Cod and Fries, Molson Canadian and an incredible sunset. Next morning took our time getting ready, headed to a Tim Horton's for brekkie and off to Vancouver. Will definitely stay at the Buccaneer Inn next time in Nanaimo.
Pros: Loved the family owned environment.
Cons: There was nothing.
A great choice for a stay in Nanaimo, Buccaneer Inn is just 1.6 mi (2.6 km) from the airport. Freebies like WiFi and self parking are added perks, and guests looking to stay active can check out the nearby hiking/biking trails, kayaking, and mountain biking. Cons: Location isn't bad, but just in a suburban shopping area. Still the hotel is much nicer inside than star level would indicate.
Pros: Good service and location vary clean
Cons: Every thing good
Pros: Staff are friendly and the newly renovated premises are definitely a Plus! However it is quite remote from downtown. If location is not an issue, then it is definitely worth a Visit!
Pros: Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Newly remodeled breakfast room. Remodeling of hotel in progress, but unobtrusive to guests.
Pros: This hotel was clean and all the staff very friendly.
Pros: 'Continental' breakfast included eggs and sausage and food was better than expected. Provided gluten-free bagels upon request.

Cons: The location was further from town than we would have preferred.
Pros: looks like a bachelor party suite!
Cons: wasn't seeking a bachelor party suite. 2 rooms, only 1 bathroom?! 3 beds, only 2 guests (clearly we had more than that)?! older building showing its age.
Pros: Best breakfast ever!
Pros: Everything!! Hotel employee service was excellent. She really made us feel welcomed, and her referrals to the area was superb!

Pros: The painted turtle had some of the comfiest, fluffier and cleanest bedding I've seen in a hostel. Very good beds!
Cons: Although the hostel was very tidy and lovely it did lack a bit of character for an old building. Everything was white, a little hotel-ish.

Pros: Loved the sun deck, had our breakfast and coffee in the sunshine. Room was spacious and well appointed. The owners were lovely and very accommodating.
Cons: The decor could be a little less Asian.
Pros: IT WAS VERY CLEAN AND RIGHT ACROSS FROM THE BEACH THE ROOM WAS A NICE SIZE NOT CROWDED
Cons: THERE WAS NO SENSE OF COLOR CORDINATION WHICH WOULD HAVE ADDED A NICE ANBIENCE TO THE ROOM. ALSO I MISSED HAVING A MICROWAVE IN IT
Pros: Close to everything we wanted to see.
Cons: Bed's were not very soft.
Pros: Clean and bright even in the rain. Although I did feel cold and needed an extra blanket.
Great value hotel ! Nice staff with clean room
Pros: Clean and quiet
Pros: We were surprised to be honest. With the star rating, we weren't quite sure, but when we arrived we were at ease. The place was very clean and had it's own little kitchenette. The location was perfect. Short walk to the beach and local pub. Very quiet.
Everything looked new. Getting new a/c even though ours worked fine. House keeper gave us good information on restaurants. Very friendly. The price is right for this great little motel. I would highly recommend it.
Pros: Clean and friendly.
To say that this hotel is a no-frills hotel would be the understatement of the year. The accommodations are very basic. You will not find shampoo in the room, but you will find a tiny bar of soap. The pictures are accurate: it is an old-school motel typical of the 60's to 80's. All that protects your privacy from the world is the curtain. Unfortunately, some people feel very comfortable leaving their curtains open! There is no elevator, and you will only find stairs. The stairs sounded like they were going to collapse when I took my suitcase to the room. My whining aside, the place is decent. It was very quiet at night, and I was able to get some good sleep. The room was very clean. So, while I don't really like the old-school motels, I was comfortable because it was clean and well-preserved. The location is pretty good as far as Qualicum Beach goes. It is convenient to the beach and the few restaurants along the beach. Would I stay here again? If I had to. I probably would opt to stay in Parksville where there are many more dining and lodging options.
Pros: The hotel was quiet and was close to the ocean.
Cons: No elevators. No modern phone system.
Quiet location, close to beach and shops.
Pros: staff very helpful and accomodating.

Mini-golf (one round free with room booking) and bumper boats were fun. Short walk to beach, nice walk, good area for skim boarding.
Nice to have continental breakfast.
Cons: No air conditioning so room got warm, the provided fans helped.
Decor a bit dated.
Would have liked hard boiled eggs, yogourt as breakfast options.
Didn't like hearing Manager berating staff in reception area next to breakfast room in the mornings. Would recommend some staff motivation and anger management courses for the manager.
Paradise Sea Shell Motel is a great choice for a stay in Parksville. Free perks include WiFi, self parking, and continental breakfast available daily.
Pros: Large rooms, nice property and nice facilities.
Cons: Not worth the money. A super dark room, paper thin walls, unvaccummed floor and an overgrown patio. Coffee Whitner is something I would expect to find at a budget motel, not in a "resort" @175 a night. Also No complimentary coffee or tea in the main lobby...lame. When I came 10 years ago, I was very impressed, however this time I wasn't itching to go home and tell all of my friends about my weekend getaway.
Pros: Beautiful view
Amazing rooms. Large. Clean
Pros: The rooms, although a little dated, were large, cozy and had a beautiful waterfront view. The proximity to the beach, pool, spa and hottubs is fantastic!
Cons: The restaurant, Fire and Ice, used to be a great draw with its large fish tank and tasty menu, however they have removed the fish tank (huge draw for kids) and the food and atmosphere are mediocre at best.
Pros: Great sized room, heated bathroom floors, nice setting
Cons: Very bad sound proofing between rooms.
Poorly lit pathway and suite number signage.
