It was close to the New Cumberland Depot and places to eat. Right off of highway giving you easy access to the hotel and quickly commute to Carlisle Pike or downtown Harrisburg. You weren't able to call directly to room w/o talking with front desk; this was annoying. Parking was limited.
We were traveling about seven hours prior to arrival and showed up at about 1 am. They were right off if the exit to the highway which was a plus. We were quick to get into our room and get some sleep. They had all the basics needed for a quick overnight stay. Very clean throughout. They had more than just toast and bagels for breakfast which was good for the kids. The parking lot was crowded so we had to park out behind the building and walk around to bring in our bags. I didn't know until the following morning that there were other ways into the building that may have been easier. Only other really minor thing were some of the vending machines seemed to be outdated. One was physically broken so wouldn't take cash. After driving I was hungry and just wanted a snack.
Overall, it was a nice place to stay. The price was right. Enjoyed the continental breakfast.
Staff were polite. One staffer in the breakfast area was particularly friendly and helpful. My room was comfortable. Breakfast was okay, but not great. The carpet in my room appeared not to have been vacuumed. It had lint and a few crumbs on it. Everything else appeared clean. There was no "do not disturb" sign for the door (obviously a very minor issue).
Very comfortable bed, nice sized rooms. Room was neat and very clean. Satellite TV was not working in one of the two rooms we booked. Front Desk Clerk was clueless, so we had no TV. Good thing we only stayed one night.
The location was convenient and easy. The third party rate was the lowest. Room size was adequate for 4. Indoor heated pool. Requires a drive for meals. Mattresses were on the low end. The room hvac was gross-clogged with debris, so I shut it off and opted for stale air. Shower drain excessively slow. You stood in a 2+ inch gross puddle at the end of a shower. Screw on the bathroom floor. Urine at base of toilet. No towels at the pool. Pool was overly foggy, uncomfortable, unkept-moldy, rust, peeling paint. Hair in eggs at continental breakfast. Layout in breakfast area was a logistical nightmare.
The room was clean. The breakfast was nice and had a variety of things. The check out was smooth and the desk staff at check out time was nice and very accommodating with a one hour late check out. The parking lot is poorly set up or inadequate size. I'm not sure which it might be since some very large trucks and service vehicles took up an entire area of parking places. Cars were actually lined up the driveway in the front. We found one in the back after circling three times. When we tried to enter the nearest entrance (with arms loaded) the key card wouldn't work. We walked all the way around the hotel to the front with all of our luggage. Made it to the room and guess what? The key card wouldn't work. Dragged luggage to the front desk and had to have the desk attendant re-key the card.
Had a great evening. Loved the setting with the fireplace and jet tub. Clean and comfortable.
The free breakfast was good. Good location/access to freeway. Great parking. Nice neighborhood/area. Well maintained facilities (didn't check the "extras", if any.) Checkout was fast. strong stale cigarette smell in hallway toward our non-smoking room. Slow elevator if not already on your floor. VERY close to freeway, but not intolerable for noise after hours.
Quiet (on top/3d floor) and comfortable. Spacious rooms, clean bathrooms, good wifi, friendly staff and free breakfast and just off I-83/I-81/I-76 Hard to find fault.
The pool area and the shower in the room were nice. The blanket and the sheets had blood stains on them. It was apparent that the sheets had not been cleaned but tucked away nicely to not see the blood at first site. We had checked into our room in the early evening and went out for the night. We got back late. I went to crawl into bed. When I pulled the sheets back, there was blood not only on the top blanket but also the one underneath along with the sheet! It was too late and I was too tired to wait for housekeeping to come up and exchange the dirty sheets for clean ones, which should have been on the bed when we checked in. I slept without a blanket which made me have a very uncomfortable nights sleep. I was not happy with the cleanliness of the room at all.
It was clean. Nothing.
Great staff. Clean. Locks on doors to the outside didn't work so I didn't need my card to get into almost any door from the parking lot
Nothing That I had to wait 2 hours for a room that had mold all over ac didn't work no coffee in morning never will I go back
Not a bad stay. Good value. Pretty clean with a bar attached and a pretty legit breakfast. Only real complaint is the outlet I used to charge my phone just quit working halfway through the night so I woke up to a nearly dead phone.
The room wasn't as clean as I would have liked. Breakfast food was not ideal.
Good breakfast rooms were spacious and nice pool area
The manager working that night was very helpful and friendly. The room was big and airy. The bed and pillows were comfortable. We slept well. The pool and hot tub were nice. The pool was on the small side.
Room was very comfortable and the staff very helpful and friendly. And 24 hour coffee was awesome! Hot items at breakfast were lacking.
The location was great. Everthying was very clean and neat. The room was quiet and the breakfast choices better than most.
Modern feel for star rating, great potential. Hair in sink and tub. Dirty shower curtain. Front desk staff not very professional. (One example: Tried to check out only to find front desk worker out front smoking with some guests. Had to wait for her to finish her cigarette.)
I loved the breakfast that was included and how clean we found the facilities. I feel as if the room should have cost 75 versus 100. Also the bed was really firm and I prefer a softer bed.
Location Hotel was not la Quinta quality. Room smelled of mold and we saw spiders on wall.
Room was remodeled and looked very nice. The tub was disgusting! The grout was nasty. The bathroom should have been remodeled with the room. I will not stay here again.
Booked a non-smoking room a month in advance but arrived at 11pm after a long day and were assigned to a room that wreaked of cigarette smoke...the hotel hallway also smelled like strong chemical cleaners masking smoke smells. After complaining, we were moved to the only room left...the handicap accessible room next to the lobby and elevator. There, we were subject to loud guests until about 2am, and could hear every word through the thin door and walls.
rooms are microscopic, bathrooms smaller. A/C didn't work in my room, it was 82 and I had to try to sleep with the windows open. Repeated requests for an engineer were never answered. The ''health room was a discrace. The equipment was so out of date it was downright dangerous. Would never stay here again
I went there with my wife because I wanted to combine some business and pleasure. We had a very good attention from the staff at every moment of our stay. the location is perfect. The room was excellent for the taste of my wife for me, I just missed a more business touch. Considering all the aspects of my stay I would consider value for the money between good and excellent, would definitely stay there again if I need to find a hotel in Hershey
this was the best hotel i have ever stayed at staff, rooms, area is the best in all of my experience
Big room for the low price, modern, clean, and very friendly staff! I will be back here!
Clerk who checked us in was in great, cheery mood. Never had a better welcome at a hotel.
Hotel itself was clean, but they charge extra for everything and it's expensive. Not worth the money.
My husband and I recently stayed at the Crown Plaza. We were disappointed as the rooms were very small and the noise level was unacceptable. If you stay here, ask for a room in the back of the hotel. Parking was valet only and costly but all other parking in the area runs about the same price. The air conditioner was very loud and went on and off all night. Between the noise outside and the air conditioner we did not sleep at all. The rooms were clean but again, very small. I used the Entertainment card and received 50% off the regular rate and I still feel that it was not worth the money we paid. On a positive note, we were able to walk around downtown Harrisburg and enjoy the restaurants, pubs, and sights.
Discover all that downtown Harrisburg has to offer! You are at the heart of everything, including shopping, dining, entertainment and the arts. You are within easy walking distance of Restaurant Row, Harrisburg's Capitol Complex, the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts and the Susquehanna River's picturesque waterfront and the wonderful Hershey Park.
Heater did not work in both rooms/TV remote did not work/Bathroom is small/Linens not cleaned/Room Service was horrible/Parking is VERY small/For a Crowne Plaza Hotel this was very disappointing
The parking facility for the hotel was always booked and I had to park across the street from the hotel during half of my visit. Mind you the main parking area is dismal and extremely confining so this was not a loss. The room I stayed in was pitiful and tiny for myself, my husband and two children. I made sure to stay outside as much as possible, so as not to remain in that tiny space.
I was not satisfied with my stay at all. The rooms were small and tight as well as the bathrooms. It felt like I was at a motel. The rooms need to be remodeled as well as the bathrooms. Everything about the hotel is tight and to be located downtown, it should have looked better than it did.
I knew my room hadn't been cleaned when I found money on the floor from previous guest. No towels in room. AC/Heat didn't work. No shampoo, coffee. Front desk unresponsive.
Location- service and cleanliness I don't understand why I can stay at a hotel 6 and have a microwave in my room but a hilton does not- So my biggest disappointment was not finding a microwave when I wanted to reheat a leftover meal-
Clean, safe, and a very nice restaurant is what I liked. I also liked the clean fluffy towels and workout room. My suggestions would be to have bathrobes in the rooms. Also, I would've liked to see an extra blanket in the closet. At this time, the pool was closed for repairs. Parking was $10 a day.
The paid Wi-Fi is fast. I am OK with paying a little extra for solid internet. The hotel has recently undergone renovation and is much cleaner than even a year ago. The new restaurant and bar on the first floor is fantastic.
Liked the location. Restaurants. Room facilities.bathroom cleanliness. There was dust on tables so housekeeping staff not careful.
I came with my service dog and the staff could not have been kinder or more helpful! I will definitely be back!!
Staff, outside seating, upbeat decor, engaging design. ATM too far off. No email receipt.
Really enjoyed the stay here. Everything was clean, friendly staff, great breakfast spread.
very good serve yourself breakfast tile floor had a slippery soapy film even when dry. Wet it a little when getting out of the shower, and it was super slippery.
Cool decor and comfy beds Allowing dogs. I will not stay at Laquinta again. Dogs barking at 3 and 5am.
Nice rooms, complimentary breakfast. The elevator did not appear to be in good working condition and the hotel was much further out of Harrisburg than anticipated.
Everything Couldn't close the blinds
I loved the service, the room, the cleanliness, the ambiance. Everything was well worth the price I paid. It was very nice and everyone, even the other customers, seemed to be smiling at all times. I found myself smiling for majority of the time there. Can't say I have a single complaint.
Great bed. Love the big tv. Beautiful hotel. Excellent value!! Would love HBO! Would like a stand for suitcase.
I like how nice the hotel is. The lobby is big and very inviting. I like they have sections with sofas so people can sit and chat. The room is spacious and clean. The staff were friendly and courteous. The decor is surprisingly nice for a best western, but again my friend told me it is their Premier class. We would stay there again when we go to Hershey. I didn't like the bed. It is too soft to my preference but it is probably just me because I like harder bed in general. Our kids swam in the pool but couldn't last long because the pool was too cold. Wishing that the pool was warmer to enjoy.
The beds were very uncomfortable and the pool water was ice cold.
The convenient location was a definite plus, including easy on/off the Interstate and a good assortment of restaurants and services nearby. The facility was surprisingly modern and very well maintained, in sharp contrast to experience with other Best Westerns. It also was a good value for the money. I'd stay again. It is noisy next to the freeway, but the room was reasonably well insulated and more than quiet enough to sleep soundly.
Great hotel! Very friendly staff!! Food in O'Reilly's Pub was very good too!
The front desk was very nice and accomidating. One of our pillow cases looked to have some sort of red mark on it... Looked like dried blood. Also our room was next to the pool and until 10pm we could hear everyone in it. The glass is not thick enough to block the pool noise.
Wifi was very poor. my stay was miserable
It was kind of clean There were no microwave or refrigerator
New, clean, and east location Smelled so strongly of Marijuana that it was Nauseating
Location Needs a good military style scrubbing
Room was cleaner than expected, quiet and a great basic room. Staff seemed professional, and I got the room at a great rate.
It was good overall , the only problem I had was that the AC went out in the morning and we couldn't get it back on , then we had to put it on cold fan and eventually it started working again, later in it happened again
Cheap. If you couldn't sleep either you slept in too late or weren't drunk enough
The room was a good price. The beds were well made and linens in good condition. The TV worked without any problems. The beds were relatively comfortable, although firmer pillows would have been nice. The heat in the room also worked well (we stayed in January). It was nice to have a mini-fridge and microwave in the room; I am a breastfeeding mother, and having somewhere to put a bottle of pumped milk was extremely helpful. I'm fine with a room being Spartan if I'm not spending a lot of money. But it MUST be completely clean. The toilet was not. Around the top of the toilet bowl (under the seat) had definitely not been cleaned. Any hotel that can't adequately clean a toilet is definitely not going to be on my list of places to return.
Decent room for the price
We needed a place to sleep for a few hours before getting back on the road so we weren't looking to spend a lot of money, so this meet that need. I always check the bed and pillows to be sure they are clean and these were so that was a plus. After seeing how "clean" the bathroom floor was, I made sure to wear my shoes. We didn't plan on showering so that didn't persuade me not too, but I am glad I didn't need to.
The staff wasn't very friendly
Rooms are clean, nicely equipped with coffee, refrigerator, microwave. Facility was clean and quiet. Breakfast was decent.
Enjoyed the free wifi. Room and bathroom clean. Enjoyed the natural light from the large window even though it was right over a parking lot. Quiet. Literally stones through from 4 chain steakhouses. And a bunch of fast food. Easy location off highway. So much chlorine in the hot tub my eyes stung just walking by it. Maybe that's a good thing though? Only ice machine was on first floor.
Simple. Everything you need. Friendly staff.
The hotel was close to a shopping center, so if you forgot to pack something you were in walking distance of the a shop to purchase what you needed. The best looking portion of the whole hotel was the pool area and the lobby. The rest of the hotel needed serious remodeling. The flooring was very outdated and became sticky and soggy if you didn't keep the A/C on at 65'ish degrees. The restrooms were incredibly small and outdated for the price. Any more than one person at a time in the restroom and you would be quickly overwhelmed with the lack of space.
We liked the activities available to us to enjoy while we were there. The food was good. Didn't like the small bathroom and the thin mattress on the pull out sofa. The staff at the front desk were friendly and great but the staff in the restaurant in the morning were not friendly at all. The hostess walked you by the table and kept going without saying anything.
We chose this location because it was close to Hershey park. We did the park for a day and like the amenities here for the following day, sadly Mother Nature didn't allow tuna to enjoy the outdoor area but the kids had fun in the indoor pool, arcade and game room. Would definitely recommend to others.
Staff was very professional not overly bothersome.
The woman at the desk in the morning was quite helpful in helping us find our way back to the interstate highway and printing up directions on the computer. The breakfast was adequate but not great.
Everything we needed for a one night stay in a hotel with my 2 sons. Carlisle auto show by day and Savannah's on Hanna by night. See you next year! Nothing
T.J. was great help. 24" of snow. They plowed the lot but cars where still stuck.
Clean room, personable staff, great breakfast setup and wonderful view of Susquehanna River.
This hotel offered a pool and game room for the kids! We found bed bugs in our room, no trash cans, no iron!
Stayed here one night for a job interview. Room was mostly clean, if a bit old. I really enjoyed the netflix included on the tv. Performed a sweep for bugs. One stinkbug and a dead spider in the bathroom, but nothing else. Refrigerator was so loud I had to unplug it. Not as loud as the highway noise, though.
The first room I was given was not cleaned. The bed was slept in and there was a cup with cigarette butts in it and towels all over the floor. The second room did not have a microwave so someone opened the kitchen for me to use that microwave and there was uncovered sausage and egg patties on a counter, and the the sink was piled with dirty dishes and breakfast stuff. The floor had dirt all over it. It was more like a storage closet than a kitchen. I took pictures of everything.
The staff was very courteous and helpful. The room was clean, however, the shower changed from freezing cold to scalding hot on it's own and it would not hold a steady temperature.
Close to interstate Walls thin, water too hot or too cold
Easy to find location, friendly staff, great value, good for a short stay. Small pool, better than no pool. Small room, smelled a little smokey. Not the cleanest. Very simplistic room and amenities. Easy to hear people in neighboring rooms.
It was newly refurbished with new laminate flooring, so no stinky motel carpet. Very clean. Nice front desk staff. Located in a quiet area. Has laundry unit on site. Really felt it was a great value for something so cheap. Ay least in our unit, there was no tub, only a shower stall. I was kind of looking forward to a nice soak after all that driving. So I just took a warm shower instead. Certainly not a dealbreaker.
Staff was really friendly and helpful. Outdoor swimming pool for family. Rooms were suprisingly clean for reviews. Stand up shower in all rooms only. Not alot of space in room.
the room was exactly what we expected for a super budget-friendly price. It was clean, layed out well for the space, had updated laminated wood floors and comfy beds. The staff was EXCEPTIONAL! Super helpful and friendly. They made an older "tired" exterior motel into a great place! Our one and only problem was the regulation of the water in the shower. There was barely a feather-breath between really hot and really cold. But once you found the "sweet spot", it worked well.
The floors were a bit dirty. But overall it was clean.
The location and price The service. They have horrible customer service. Someone in my group had an expired ID. One of the rooms was under her name. Clearly then ID had her name, picture and credentials. The room was paid in advance and they had a credit card on file for the company we work for so it wasn't a monetary issue. They made us call our administrator at 11pm, had her wake up after work hours, look thru her emails, call hotel.com and change the reservation to someone else in the party who's ID wasn't expired. We had to wait for hours for this to get resolved after being tired, dirty and on the road all day!! We will never stay there again!!
Breakfast was ok and the rooms were clean. The heat didn't work properly. It was a very cold night. But we were too tired to deal with it. We set it to 85 on low heat and finally got some heat. If we put the fan on high or automatic the fan blew cold air even on the heat setting it was very interesting. We were fine. Sue room 109
Close to interstate, police and fire station it is a 3rd party billing only, if you want to change rooms, you cant do so at the front desk, I had a smoking room which I don't smoke and the smell was terrible, you csn smell smoke from the front door to hallways. The TV is old school and is more fuzzy then anything.
Decently priced, staff was helpful and attentive... Room was clean and pleasant. Located near necessities. Would definitely go again. Feeling harassed by housekeeping before check out
No eggs or bacon for breakfast. Just biscuits and gravy. Not enough seating and the food kept running out. A/C was very loud as was nearby highway.
accessabilty minor repairs needed, overall updating. machines broken, lights not working (several)
Propertg was a pleasant surprise. Close but not next to I81. No road noise. Very clean..tv not hd.perdonel friendly anx responsive. Had t. Isshe that was resolved in ten minutes. Overall a very good value.
Our room was a smoking room and it seemed like that was the default. Room smelled terrible. Front desk was unable to accommodate at all.
We booked this stay due to a death in the family and we needed last minute accommodations for several people. I made a mistake when booking online and upon contacting the hotel, the staff immediately accommodated us for the correct night, searched out the best available price and truly went above and beyond to be kind and hospitable. The staff's professional hospitality didn't end there. Everyone met us with a smile the following day at the breakfast buffet, which was a good selection for a free breakfast. Most importantly, one of the wonderful women who cleans the rooms named Mercedes, went out of her way to help my disabled mother while the rest of us were at the buffet. She offered my mother her cell phone and assisted her when nobody was around. This hotel is a great value for the money, nothing fancy but clean, well taken care of and fantastic people all around!! Highly reccommend.
Great for the AACA Hershey week. Good variety at breakfast. Room with fridge & microwave & coffee pot . Clean & comfortable. This is the third year.
Room was great fridge was a great amenity. Breakfast was awesome had a great variety. Mattress was a little to firm but alright.
The room had trash in the draws and someone's bra hanging in the bathroom. The front end was rude and didn't care. Room was not ready at check in time.
Staff were outstanding and friendly at the front desk. Lodging is average and you get what you pay for. It was clean and quiet, so I was happy
the staff was very help full ,clean rooms, good food not enough hot water first thing in morning, (should shower at night plenty of hot water)
Location to farm show complex. The breakfast bar was great to someone who was so far from home and alone and trying to find decent places to eat.
