I loved the breakfast that was included and how clean we found the facilities. I feel as if the room should have cost 75 versus 100. Also the bed was really firm and I prefer a softer bed.
Booked a non-smoking room a month in advance but arrived at 11pm after a long day and were assigned to a room that wreaked of cigarette smoke...the hotel hallway also smelled like strong chemical cleaners masking smoke smells. After complaining, we were moved to the only room left...the handicap accessible room next to the lobby and elevator. There, we were subject to loud guests until about 2am, and could hear every word through the thin door and walls.
Location Hotel was not la Quinta quality. Room smelled of mold and we saw spiders on wall.
Room was remodeled and looked very nice. The tub was disgusting! The grout was nasty. The bathroom should have been remodeled with the room. I will not stay here again.
Big room for the low price, modern, clean, and very friendly staff! I will be back here!
Heater did not work in both rooms/TV remote did not work/Bathroom is small/Linens not cleaned/Room Service was horrible/Parking is VERY small/For a Crowne Plaza Hotel this was very disappointing
Discover all that downtown Harrisburg has to offer! You are at the heart of everything, including shopping, dining, entertainment and the arts. You are within easy walking distance of Restaurant Row, Harrisburg's Capitol Complex, the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts and the Susquehanna River's picturesque waterfront and the wonderful Hershey Park.
Hotel itself was clean, but they charge extra for everything and it's expensive. Not worth the money.
this was the best hotel i have ever stayed at staff, rooms, area is the best in all of my experience
Clerk who checked us in was in great, cheery mood. Never had a better welcome at a hotel.
I knew my room hadn't been cleaned when I found money on the floor from previous guest. No towels in room. AC/Heat didn't work. No shampoo, coffee. Front desk unresponsive.
My husband and I recently stayed at the Crown Plaza. We were disappointed as the rooms were very small and the noise level was unacceptable. If you stay here, ask for a room in the back of the hotel. Parking was valet only and costly but all other parking in the area runs about the same price. The air conditioner was very loud and went on and off all night. Between the noise outside and the air conditioner we did not sleep at all. The rooms were clean but again, very small. I used the Entertainment card and received 50% off the regular rate and I still feel that it was not worth the money we paid. On a positive note, we were able to walk around downtown Harrisburg and enjoy the restaurants, pubs, and sights.
I went there with my wife because I wanted to combine some business and pleasure. We had a very good attention from the staff at every moment of our stay. the location is perfect. The room was excellent for the taste of my wife for me, I just missed a more business touch. Considering all the aspects of my stay I would consider value for the money between good and excellent, would definitely stay there again if I need to find a hotel in Hershey
The parking facility for the hotel was always booked and I had to park across the street from the hotel during half of my visit. Mind you the main parking area is dismal and extremely confining so this was not a loss. The room I stayed in was pitiful and tiny for myself, my husband and two children. I made sure to stay outside as much as possible, so as not to remain in that tiny space.
I was not satisfied with my stay at all. The rooms were small and tight as well as the bathrooms. It felt like I was at a motel. The rooms need to be remodeled as well as the bathrooms. Everything about the hotel is tight and to be located downtown, it should have looked better than it did.
rooms are microscopic, bathrooms smaller. A/C didn't work in my room, it was 82 and I had to try to sleep with the windows open. Repeated requests for an engineer were never answered. The ''health room was a discrace. The equipment was so out of date it was downright dangerous. Would never stay here again
I like how nice the hotel is. The lobby is big and very inviting. I like they have sections with sofas so people can sit and chat. The room is spacious and clean. The staff were friendly and courteous. The decor is surprisingly nice for a best western, but again my friend told me it is their Premier class. We would stay there again when we go to Hershey. I didn't like the bed. It is too soft to my preference but it is probably just me because I like harder bed in general. Our kids swam in the pool but couldn't last long because the pool was too cold. Wishing that the pool was warmer to enjoy.
The location was convenient and easy. The third party rate was the lowest. Room size was adequate for 4. Indoor heated pool. Requires a drive for meals. Mattresses were on the low end. The room hvac was gross-clogged with debris, so I shut it off and opted for stale air. Shower drain excessively slow. You stood in a 2+ inch gross puddle at the end of a shower. Screw on the bathroom floor. Urine at base of toilet. No towels at the pool. Pool was overly foggy, uncomfortable, unkept-moldy, rust, peeling paint. Hair in eggs at continental breakfast. Layout in breakfast area was a logistical nightmare.
Staff were polite. One staffer in the breakfast area was particularly friendly and helpful. My room was comfortable. Breakfast was okay, but not great. The carpet in my room appeared not to have been vacuumed. It had lint and a few crumbs on it. Everything else appeared clean. There was no "do not disturb" sign for the door (obviously a very minor issue).
I came with my service dog and the staff could not have been kinder or more helpful! I will definitely be back!!
Liked the location. Restaurants. Room facilities.bathroom cleanliness. There was dust on tables so housekeeping staff not careful.
The paid Wi-Fi is fast. I am OK with paying a little extra for solid internet. The hotel has recently undergone renovation and is much cleaner than even a year ago. The new restaurant and bar on the first floor is fantastic.
Clean, safe, and a very nice restaurant is what I liked. I also liked the clean fluffy towels and workout room. My suggestions would be to have bathrobes in the rooms. Also, I would've liked to see an extra blanket in the closet. At this time, the pool was closed for repairs. Parking was $10 a day.
Location- service and cleanliness I don't understand why I can stay at a hotel 6 and have a microwave in my room but a hilton does not- So my biggest disappointment was not finding a microwave when I wanted to reheat a leftover meal-
Staff, outside seating, upbeat decor, engaging design. ATM too far off. No email receipt.
I loved the service, the room, the cleanliness, the ambiance. Everything was well worth the price I paid. It was very nice and everyone, even the other customers, seemed to be smiling at all times. I found myself smiling for majority of the time there. Can't say I have a single complaint.
Cool decor and comfy beds Allowing dogs. I will not stay at Laquinta again. Dogs barking at 3 and 5am.
very good serve yourself breakfast tile floor had a slippery soapy film even when dry. Wet it a little when getting out of the shower, and it was super slippery.
Nice rooms, complimentary breakfast. The elevator did not appear to be in good working condition and the hotel was much further out of Harrisburg than anticipated.
Really enjoyed the stay here. Everything was clean, friendly staff, great breakfast spread.
Everything Couldn't close the blinds
It was good overall , the only problem I had was that the AC went out in the morning and we couldn't get it back on , then we had to put it on cold fan and eventually it started working again, later in it happened again
New, clean, and east location Smelled so strongly of Marijuana that it was Nauseating
Wifi was very poor. my stay was miserable
Location Needs a good military style scrubbing
Decent room for the price
We needed a place to sleep for a few hours before getting back on the road so we weren't looking to spend a lot of money, so this meet that need. I always check the bed and pillows to be sure they are clean and these were so that was a plus. After seeing how "clean" the bathroom floor was, I made sure to wear my shoes. We didn't plan on showering so that didn't persuade me not too, but I am glad I didn't need to.
It was kind of clean There were no microwave or refrigerator
The room was a good price. The beds were well made and linens in good condition. The TV worked without any problems. The beds were relatively comfortable, although firmer pillows would have been nice. The heat in the room also worked well (we stayed in January). It was nice to have a mini-fridge and microwave in the room; I am a breastfeeding mother, and having somewhere to put a bottle of pumped milk was extremely helpful. I'm fine with a room being Spartan if I'm not spending a lot of money. But it MUST be completely clean. The toilet was not. Around the top of the toilet bowl (under the seat) had definitely not been cleaned. Any hotel that can't adequately clean a toilet is definitely not going to be on my list of places to return.
Room was cleaner than expected, quiet and a great basic room. Staff seemed professional, and I got the room at a great rate.
Cheap. If you couldn't sleep either you slept in too late or weren't drunk enough
Not a bad stay. Good value. Pretty clean with a bar attached and a pretty legit breakfast. Only real complaint is the outlet I used to charge my phone just quit working halfway through the night so I woke up to a nearly dead phone.
Great staff. Clean. Locks on doors to the outside didn't work so I didn't need my card to get into almost any door from the parking lot
Modern feel for star rating, great potential. Hair in sink and tub. Dirty shower curtain. Front desk staff not very professional. (One example: Tried to check out only to find front desk worker out front smoking with some guests. Had to wait for her to finish her cigarette.)
The manager working that night was very helpful and friendly. The room was big and airy. The bed and pillows were comfortable. We slept well. The pool and hot tub were nice. The pool was on the small side.
Room was very comfortable and the staff very helpful and friendly. And 24 hour coffee was awesome! Hot items at breakfast were lacking.
The location was great. Everthying was very clean and neat. The room was quiet and the breakfast choices better than most.
Enjoyed the free wifi. Room and bathroom clean. Enjoyed the natural light from the large window even though it was right over a parking lot. Quiet. Literally stones through from 4 chain steakhouses. And a bunch of fast food. Easy location off highway. So much chlorine in the hot tub my eyes stung just walking by it. Maybe that's a good thing though? Only ice machine was on first floor.
Simple. Everything you need. Friendly staff.
The staff wasn't very friendly
Rooms are clean, nicely equipped with coffee, refrigerator, microwave. Facility was clean and quiet. Breakfast was decent.
I liked the continental breakfast. I didn't like the fact that they left half bottles of shampoo and conditioners instead of replacing them with full bottles.
Breakfast was great, balcony view was amazing, and pool will come bac when it opens A bit outdated some things were broken should be updated
Where do I start? The original charge was doubled on Weekend. I received my original rate ONLY the first night. There was no printer available to print off my confirmation sheet but I had a photo on my phone. Staff refused to accept anything but a paper copy that indicated the rates were to be for the entire weekend. Once at the room, which was at the back of the hotel complex, my child and I found what appeared to be efficiency apartments below us. The group gathered outside was a bit scary and stared at us as we unloaded our luggage. No smoking room had stains on carpets and sheets with ashtrays. No phone, phone book or internet. no towels, curtains were broken and hanging off the rod. No toilet paper. The room overlooking the pool...well...you could no taccess the balcony due to a broken saftey bar. The pool was closed due to health issues. The bed I slept in had a spring poking to the top of the "queen mattress". The entire night the party beside us argued and slammed doors. At 3 am I would need to load my child and drive to teh front office to report the issues. Breakfast... well... there was absolutely nothing but carbs. No peanut butter packet or fruit. Cereal and waffles and doughnuts. I AM A DIABETIC. I do not require a special meal but a tablespoon of peanut butter was all I needed. A very rude non English speaking man mumbled he could no help me..... I get older.... I do not get rude For an additional 80.00 we stayed down the road for the next 2 nights. With all of the items the hotel had advertised and not provided.
The best part of our trip was meeting the house keeping staff !! They were so very kind and outgoing. They went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. Especially Bonnie and her Mother they were so kind . I did not like the fact that the pool was not the cleanest, and the small kiddie pool was not usable ( no Water in it).
The first room I was given was not cleaned. The bed was slept in and there was a cup with cigarette butts in it and towels all over the floor. The second room did not have a microwave so someone opened the kitchen for me to use that microwave and there was uncovered sausage and egg patties on a counter, and the the sink was piled with dirty dishes and breakfast stuff. The floor had dirt all over it. It was more like a storage closet than a kitchen. I took pictures of everything.
We liked the activities available to us to enjoy while we were there. The food was good. Didn't like the small bathroom and the thin mattress on the pull out sofa. The staff at the front desk were friendly and great but the staff in the restaurant in the morning were not friendly at all. The hostess walked you by the table and kept going without saying anything.
We chose this location because it was close to Hershey park. We did the park for a day and like the amenities here for the following day, sadly Mother Nature didn't allow tuna to enjoy the outdoor area but the kids had fun in the indoor pool, arcade and game room. Would definitely recommend to others.
The hotel was close to a shopping center, so if you forgot to pack something you were in walking distance of the a shop to purchase what you needed. The best looking portion of the whole hotel was the pool area and the lobby. The rest of the hotel needed serious remodeling. The flooring was very outdated and became sticky and soggy if you didn't keep the A/C on at 65'ish degrees. The restrooms were incredibly small and outdated for the price. Any more than one person at a time in the restroom and you would be quickly overwhelmed with the lack of space.
Close to interstate, police and fire station it is a 3rd party billing only, if you want to change rooms, you cant do so at the front desk, I had a smoking room which I don't smoke and the smell was terrible, you csn smell smoke from the front door to hallways. The TV is old school and is more fuzzy then anything.
Breakfast was ok and the rooms were clean. The heat didn't work properly. It was a very cold night. But we were too tired to deal with it. We set it to 85 on low heat and finally got some heat. If we put the fan on high or automatic the fan blew cold air even on the heat setting it was very interesting. We were fine. Sue room 109
Easy to find location, friendly staff, great value, good for a short stay. Small pool, better than no pool. Small room, smelled a little smokey. Not the cleanest. Very simplistic room and amenities. Easy to hear people in neighboring rooms.
The floors were a bit dirty. But overall it was clean.
Staff was really friendly and helpful. Outdoor swimming pool for family. Rooms were suprisingly clean for reviews. Stand up shower in all rooms only. Not alot of space in room.
Close to interstate Walls thin, water too hot or too cold
the room was exactly what we expected for a super budget-friendly price. It was clean, layed out well for the space, had updated laminated wood floors and comfy beds. The staff was EXCEPTIONAL! Super helpful and friendly. They made an older "tired" exterior motel into a great place! Our one and only problem was the regulation of the water in the shower. There was barely a feather-breath between really hot and really cold. But once you found the "sweet spot", it worked well.
The staff was very courteous and helpful. The room was clean, however, the shower changed from freezing cold to scalding hot on it's own and it would not hold a steady temperature.
It was newly refurbished with new laminate flooring, so no stinky motel carpet. Very clean. Nice front desk staff. Located in a quiet area. Has laundry unit on site. Really felt it was a great value for something so cheap. Ay least in our unit, there was no tub, only a shower stall. I was kind of looking forward to a nice soak after all that driving. So I just took a warm shower instead. Certainly not a dealbreaker.
The location and price The service. They have horrible customer service. Someone in my group had an expired ID. One of the rooms was under her name. Clearly then ID had her name, picture and credentials. The room was paid in advance and they had a credit card on file for the company we work for so it wasn't a monetary issue. They made us call our administrator at 11pm, had her wake up after work hours, look thru her emails, call hotel.com and change the reservation to someone else in the party who's ID wasn't expired. We had to wait for hours for this to get resolved after being tired, dirty and on the road all day!! We will never stay there again!!
Staff was VERY friendly and helpful Lots and lots of electrical plugs, which is very important when traveling with CPAP machine and multiple electronic devices Really good breakfast Good pool and workout room Moslty travel in the Midwest so not used to the east coast prices
Location with respect to Hershey Park and restaurants and accomoditions None.
Clean room, personable staff, great breakfast setup and wonderful view of Susquehanna River.
T.J. was great help. 24" of snow. They plowed the lot but cars where still stuck.
Everything we needed for a one night stay in a hotel with my 2 sons. Carlisle auto show by day and Savannah's on Hanna by night. See you next year! Nothing
Staff was very professional not overly bothersome.
The woman at the desk in the morning was quite helpful in helping us find our way back to the interstate highway and printing up directions on the computer. The breakfast was adequate but not great.
