Friendly, all foreign, staff. Booked the Manisses but got the 1661 Inn which was up the road. Not the same property. The bed was old, hard and uncomfortable. Buyer beware, at least if booking online.
The staff was lovely, and the food was great we loved the included champagne brunch and the happy hour. It was $185 a night with no a/c in a hot attic room, a shared bathroom that was old, tiny, with peeling wallpaper and cracked broken tiles. We shared the little bathroom with 3 or 4 other rooms and it was inevitably occupied.
More like a comfortable old inn, nice public spaces. The newer outdoor space on the rear terrace was a lovely spot to relax in front of the fire pit with a drink and conversation. The food is good. Bed very comfortable. fake maple syrup for the pancakes! nothing much else to dislike.
Convenient location. quiet at night. Very clean. Great Breakfast.
The location and history. The lack of Air conditioning on a stifling night... and then rampaging drunks outside until 2am... REALLY hard to sleep at this hotel.
Awesome location seems a bit outdated but it is considered a historic place.
Location very near ferry, as we brought only our bikes. They had gas fires outside in the evening and people sat around to chat. Like many hotels, lights for reading were in short supply, fortunately it was nice enough so that we did our reading out of doors.
Great location, ocean view, friendly staff All good!
