Location can't be beat, and the room itself was just fine. However, hot water was almost nonexistent. You'd start a shower with hot water, and a minute later it would be gone. We called the front desk and they sent someone up who told us we had to run the hot water for four minutes to make sure. Well, that didn't work either. The TV remote also barely worked. You had to be a couple inches away from the TV. Then, it would change channels, but the TV itself was incredibly slow to respond. We weren't really there for that, however, so we weren't bothered enough to try to do something about it. For us, the proximity to Broadway was the main draw, and the room was otherwise very comfortable and clean.
Pros. The bed was fairly comfortable
Cons. The hotel could have been updated
Cons. No breakfast but had a Cafe downstairs we could buy snacks, coffee and dessert. However, it closed early. If it stayed a little later, we would prefer to buy from the Cafe than order room service.
Pros. The location
Cons. The room was disgusting. There was mold all over the bathroom and what appeared to be blood on the bathroom wall
Pros. The beds were super comfortable, the location was very convenient.
Cons. I didn't realize there was a hidden resort fee. It was disappointing to have to pay an extra $40 per night. The temperature in the shower kept fluctuating from super hot to cold. Sometimes it was just a cold shower.
Pros. Large rooms AMAZING staff. Tons of outlets in room
Cons. Room was tired and worn. AC unit noisy and ran constantly without much impact on temperature. Wallpaper peeling and old. Just didn't feel like I had spent 200$ a night for the place. $30 per day "resort fee" really should have been disclosed at booking. Since I wasn't going to use any of the facilities, I basically spent that money of WIFI access.
Pros. The location was good. The people we interacted with were nice.
Cons. While the staff was nice, they didn't do a darn thing. A smile and a kind word does not make a bed. I know this because one day we came back to a room that hadn't been serviced, reasons still unclear. We became quite close to Terrance, the front desk agent at night. Pleasant as can be, but it took 3 calls to get some towels delivered. We asked for tissues, and no joke- were handed a wad of tissues. Guess the boxes are for special people? Shampoo is also held in the vault. The fan in the bathroom didn't work so everything just steamed up. The shower was broken and given it's a wall of glass, it's a serious safety hazard. It also meant the water just poured out of the shower and puddled on the floor. A real problem when you can't get an extra towel. The wallpaper is peeling up and there was mold, likely do to the broken vent. The window in the room was broken. We figured it was safe with our son cause it really wouldn't open, but it also didn't quite close. The black out curtains were the dirtiest thing I've ever seen and had large (obvious) rips in them. Oh, and to top it all off they did maintenance on the plumbing and shut off the hot water. Guess how I found that out? Nope, not through a phone call or a note slipped under the door. But only once I was in the shower and the water just wouldn't get hot. I paid over $300 a night for this. I will literally never return to this location, nor will I stay in another Crown Plaza.
