Great shower, ideal location for our visit to Caerleon. Manager was friendly, helopful and informative. Our room was warm, spacious and clean. We had been put off beforehand by guest reviews on the internet but it was too late to cancel our trip. Our experience was much better than expected from the reviews. Some of the comments by other guests were helpful and others were unfair. We found TV reception poor.
Very good hotel, cheap with friendly staff Checking out on Sunday was a bit difficult as we had to wait in reception for someone to get to the desk for about 10 minutes
Comfortable room Floor boards exremely noisy- squeaked under every footstep -weird!
Rooms are very nice and beds are very clean too. Staff is very helpful in guiding and travel planning etc Room is very clean, Bathroom is very clean but there is a kind of bad odour in bathroom.
Very welcoming staff, were happy to help and give ideas on what to do in the area. The room was a nice size, great size bathroom and everything was clean and tidy. Beds comfortable, nice big towels. Handy having the spar across the road and easy, convenient parking directly opposite hotel entrance. Some people may think the decor etc is ugly and old, but we thought it just gave it a bit of character.
Staff polite. Beds clean, room tidy Bad smell coming from the bathroom in the room and worse smell from the toilets in the bar
Pleasant host Totally overpriced and exploited clients during the Ryder Cup
I found the management to be extremely nice and helpfull, and in general a very upbeat and frindly attitude None
The friendliness of the staff and they have excellent local knowledge nothing at all it was all perfect
Room was clean, spacious and warm. Restuarant looked great but didnt have chance to eat there Location was a bit off putting
A friendly welcome and great attetiveness from staff and proprietors.Food was excellent as always. Maybe £100 per night is just above international averages.
Excellent room, service and breakfast Not located in a very good part of the city
Great and friendly staff at the reception, had special taxi deals available
The quality of the room anad the helpfulness of the receptionist
Very good food. Very friendly Area surrounding hotel a little basic
terry and bob could not have been more helpful and the main bar and restaurant is an absolute credit to them they have many awards for their hotel and from my stay totally deserve it
Friendly staff, good food, secure parking, good location, and comfortable bed. Nothing comes to mind.
Good size room, nice bed and very nice on suite bathroom. Clean hotel. Breakfast whilst well cooked was basic. Ordered a newspaper but it never appeared. Tv was untuned with on 2 channels visible. Directly opposite Newport Port and main road
Comfortable, warm, pleasant, clean room. Hard to find the entrance from J23a. Not enough seating in the breakfast area - stressful and unpleasant trying to find a table.
The staff and the fitness room The food at breakfast was not great
The location was very convenient being right next to the motorway. The hotel is fairly new so everything was clean and tidy with very well appointed bedrooms. The cost was only 50 pounds for the room including breakfast which was very reasonable. The hotel is situated on a business park which is currently under construction so not ideal. The windwows in the bedrooms do not open so you have to use the air con - something I didn't realise until I woke up at 5am being really hot and having difficulty breathing ! We got the air con working and things improved. My wife also found the bed very uncomfortable - too hard so had to use the spare duvet and pillows to try and make it more comfortable. The breakfast area was chaotic - a very poor design in my mind. Had to wait a long time for toast and cooked breakfast which never came. Made a complaint at check out and they said we wouldn't have to pay for our stay.
Clean and fresh accommodation. All essential equipment present like shower with adjustable hose, iron, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities. Excellent breakfast, comfortable bed. None.
Location was good for m4 motorway but no noise could be heard from motorway nice modern rooms At breakfast not enough tables for diners, no opening windows in bedroon
Excellent new Hotel in very convenient location for m4 Evening meals limited and transport necessary to get to local pubs/restaurants, etc. (don't have the fish!)
Bed was very hard
Thought the hotel and staff were very good. Free breakfast with your booking which is not the best breakfast but certainly gives you something to start the day. Smoking area, because everytime we walked out of the main door people were smoking there. They could put a smoking area to the left of the front door with a roof on so people could smoke in there rather than outside the main entrance. Children running around at 2 in the morning, which was not the hotels fault.
Excellent hotel. The staff were fantastic & couldn't have been more helpful. 5 stars for the standard of rooms & the cleanliness of the whole hotel. Would fully recommend this hotel. The location suited my needs but the hotel is in an area that is currently having building work done, but this did not cause any problems or inconvenience during my stay.
new, clean comfortable with close access to motorway (could be better signposted). Staff very pleasant and keen to make sure everything OK.
The stairs were damp and smelt damp
Excellent staff at the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble and they should all be commended from the coffee point staff to the excellent receptionists Bathroom was dreadful! Needs total overhaul
The room was really nice and spacious and the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast's were really good. We stayed in room 275, the bathroom could do with a bit of updating considering it's a Hilton Hotel.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful The hotel needs a complete re-furbishment in my opinion
me and my parter stayed at the hilton but would never stay angin kids running up and down the hall ways load music late at night rowing in the hall ways to would never stay there angin in all the hotel we stayed in we have never had that.
Friendly staff, comfortable room and very enjoyable breakfast.
Room clean good excellant carvery evening meal Variety of price and choice for breakfast
The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Not a great selection for breakfast but the cooked breakfast was good. The hotel is in desperate need of a refurb. Our room whilst large had a very out of date bathroom, stained carpet, not particulary clean and no inroom safe or minbar .Our stay in this hotel was for my Husbands birthday present to attend the Welsh Golf Open so I was extremely disappointed with the room. We had a meal on the 1st evening and we ended up not paying due to the quality of the food.We didn't eat in the dining room again.I Have stayed in 3 Hilton hotels recently Kensington, Swindon and Islington all of which were excellent standard
The rooms were spacious. It took a long time to get served at the bar in the afternoon/evening
Nothing The whole experiance was awful. The Room was filthy Light in Bathroom was not working. Overall the hotel was very disappointing
Restricted bar menu but food good. Nice open log fire. Pool and leisure facilities very good.
really enjoyed stay and the pool area was the highlight. Brilliant pool and sauna area. The fact that nearly all the desserts were bought in except trifle and crumble.Very surprised that 4 star hotel should serve these. Steak etc lovely.
Bar staff were very friendly and helpful, as were the housekeeping staff in the morning. Check-in was very efficient.
Every member of staff was friendly, helpful and positive, from reception staff to housekeeping. The rooms were well appointed, the food was extremely tasty and plentiful and the leisure centre was excellent - our children particularly enjoyed the indoor pool. The hotel even had a couple of singers in the bar on Saturday evening! We wished we could have stayed for longer!
Very nice pool and spa area. Restaurant offers value for money. Spacious reception area where you can spend a rainy morning with the kids and play a boardgame. However, focus of the hotel rests with pensioners - not with families. The music in the restaurant was a bit outdated. Facilities (lounge, rooms) are a bit dated.
Swimming poole and staff at the leisure dept. Was brilliant. When checked in I was asked if I wanted a newspaper. I said Sunday Times but never received it. We hadd breakfast room service and it is the first time that I have been charged £5 for this service. My daugther was given a very poor bed and I complained. The duty manager was useless and I had to almost beg for a replacement. This was sort of ok but very thin mattress. The pillows were also poor. Also, it was very noisy during the night a couple of times with poeple chatting and laughing outside our room.
The staff were all first class, friendly and efficient. The tv was getting on a bit.
Very modern clean well kept very plush nothing too much trouble will come back made to feel like a vip cwmbran here we come very soon wales is great this hotel made it better None
Clean and tidy Food service stopped at 10pm, and only sandwiches until 10.30pm!
The rooms are nicely appointed, easy parking, a decent breakfast and use of the pool/sauna/etc facilities Price of drinks, not much a facility for smokers, poor booking process and staff that had no authority or access to it.
It was very good value for money. It was very good value for money. It was very good value for money.
The hotel is in a brilliant position, close to shops, nightlife, lots of parking spaces, the hotel wasnt full and was very quiet with no noise from the pubs and clubs which are within a 5 minute walk The manager/owner switched on the boiler when we were booking in and paying for the rooms so therefore the rooms and the corridors were absolutely freezing until about 11pm, we booked in at 4pm. if the heating had of been on when we arrived the hotel would have got a brill review
It was convenient to be so close to the city centre and be able to park the car Unfortunately we were given Room 13 which turned out to be ominous because it overlooked the street. At 3am we were woken up by drunks who were exceedingly noisy until 4am after which we never got back to sleep!
Staff were very helpful, polite and friendly, very accommodating to our needs. There was also a great selection of food at breakfast. N/A
Very helpful manager Extremely small rooms
close to center, free WiFi, friendly staff
Welcoming and extremely helpful staff. Easy parking. opposite a bar where people stand outside and talk until very late.
Proximity for city centre The room was booked as a double but it was far too small for a double and the bed was 3/4 size only. For £65 this was overpriced. If the room had been £30-£40 it would have been fair. It was clean and tidy. Fittings were low cost but ok when new but they won't last. For single occupancy the room would be adequate.
Rooms were spacious and comfortable and clean, and the buffet breakfast was lovely, with plenty of choice. car park was spacious and free! Swimming Pool was on the small side, as was the gym, and unmanned, but ok for a quick swim, not to relax, but definately would stay again
paid £63.00 and did not get breakfast.
Quality of room, range of facilities and quality of breakfast
1) Strategic location close to M4 junction. 2) Friendly staff. 3) Ample space in our executive room. Very unflexible timetable of meals!
Friendliness of staff Room not replenished with tea & coffee
General help of staff
Little Staff were perfunctory and unsmiling...Dinner buffet was poor; although breakfast was better. Letter of complaint sent.
The room was plenty large for the family. Pool was small. Nice lounge area.
The hotel is a lot better than it looks !! Breakfast was excellent. The standard rooms are very small and so is the doulble bed. The bathroom was generally very tired looking
staff were very helpful i would have liked more information in the room about the hotel itself - eg how to work the TV etc and what is charged. The website did not give details about what the room included. I was under the impression that the basic room had a Dvd player. this was not the case.
Excellent welcome, beautiful room and wonderful breakfast Tad too close to the M4, some road noise as a result
The friendly attitude of staff along with super food nothing particular
Accommodation was well appointed and newly decorated to a very high standard. Staff very helpful and efficient. Ate in the adjoining restaurant both nights and meal was excellent & good value (worth booking a table in the restaurant as the bar area gets very busy at weekends). None
Pleasant and helpful staff, good facilities and food, enjoyed our overnight stay Wash basin tap in our room difficult to operate - needs silica grease to make easier to control. Bathroom extract fan noisy and long running - suggest shorten timer run time
We thought it was good value for money, well located for touring Newport/Cardiff area, with particularly meals Nothing to say
Warm welcome, good quality room with freeview tv and very comfortable bed.Welsh cakes[biscuits] a nice touch. Ground floor rooms directly by car park so had to pull curtains for privacy - no nets/blinds for screening. No greeting in the restaurant so had to wait to attract attention to order.Restaurant "system" for ordering not explained ie order drinks at the bar and food at the table.
Very clean and tidy Room was very warm even with the fan on
Very friendly staff & comfortable surroundings - would recommend
The modern room was warm, the bed comfortable, the bathroom facilities were good too and the staff pleasant The pub/restaurant area seemed like a different place, unimaginative decor and a breakfast chef that liked cooking on a dirty griddle.
Secure room access, good decore, good food on site, helpful staff No internet or tv first night. was fixed by morning. Related to electricity work possibly.
The receptionist was extremely helpful getting me directions and printed off a route map for me. When I got back she enquired if I found it all right. Excellent pr. The coffee in the morning was week and tastless. I like my coffee!
The staff - they were excellent - professional and friendly - I felt as though I had stayed there numerous times and not that this was my first visit children running around
location and excellent service fire alarm system needs a better method of false alarm[ie smoking in non-smoking room, staff need more time to source and rectify!!] also surprised at lack of aircon in a new hotel,at least there was a fan in room
The cleanliness was very impressive. Also very impressed with the cleanliness/decor/size of the room Drink prices at the bar were on the high side. £1 difference for a pint of Guinness between you and Newport pubs.
The room was comfortable, and the pub next door was great, felt very safe here on my own and would definitely stay here again Lack of free internet access in the room
Everything in room was neat tidy and easy usable
excellent service price was a little expensive
Effective and efficient staff at check in and check out. Easy parking. comfortable bed and good room.
clean and comfortable good service no
Very large comfy bed, nice buffet breakfast, very friendly staff
Room design, friendly staff, good breakfast, service on arrival was excellent.
All of it! Perfect accomodation.
space, heating archaic very noisy
Excellent standard of hotel Price!!!!!!!!
The hotel is huge. Wonderful lounge areas with great service. Only used the pool(not Spa) but our kids loved it. Highly reccomend for families. Great location for Millenium Stadium (20 min drive).Thank you Celtic Manor for a great weekend. Up Munster!!!!!! Loved everything
The food at the Olive Tree restaurant
Lovely hotel with spectacular views and very comfy beds. Service was excellent apart from one barman and would recommend thoroughly although not cheap.
The quality of thr room and friendliness of staff The escalators leading to the exhibition hall were not in operation on Tuesday morning.
We thought we were royalty
Staff very friendly I would class this as a Bed & Breakfast not a hotel. I paid a high rate for my room as it was during the Ryder Cup, normally I'm sure the room rate is mush lower in line with the standard of the hotel.
I stayed for 3 nights and liked the warm hospitality of the hotel staff. Instead of a welcome drink, I had a welcome tea reception, with hot tea on a cold day and biscuits and cakes. The hotel was brand new and nice. We had a cooked breakfast instead of the continental breakfast as mentioned in the booking sheet which came as a nice surprise and definitely a bonus. The hotel is only about 10min walk from the Newport Railway station, There are also nice kebab and fish and chip shops within 5 min walk away. Newport also has the largest sainsbury in whole of Wales and a taxi ride cost 5pounds from sainsbury back to hotel. None
All the staff were so very friendly and accommodated the needs of my disabled father perfectly. Nothin g was too much trouble.
Good service and gave us breakfast the morning we arrived None
Nadia was a superstar in sorting our our room once we'd got to the hotel. There had been a minor mix up in the booking but Nadia provided exemplary customer service and that was very much appreciated. The room was comfy and adequately appointed. The postcode takes you to somewhere else on Chepstow Road! so we drove along the road for ages trying to find the hotel. A phone call to the hotel quickly got us parked up in the car park. This isn't a chain hotel but a family run hotel that is growing by good service and reputation.
Pleasant modern room, efficient & friendly staff, central location No complaints. Minor improvements possible: e.g. clearer signage, optimise parking area, reception area, cooked breakfast content (may not be represenative due to staff problems on day)
The hotel rooms as are well equipped as any, much more expensive, hotel would be. The excellent cooked breakfast is cooked to order. There is also a small side table from which you can select juice, fruit, cereal, yoghurt etc. If you are looking for value, rather than plush furnishings, then this is great. Dining room is for breakfast only. A short walk into town for dinner / drink.
Good parking. Pleasant staff. Very clean.
room very comfortable and warm. Very handy to centre and railway station. Friendly staff and handy car parking
Good service, and breakfast Bed to small and uncomfortable
Value for money for the rate I pay. The wifi internet was free, despite the hotel website stating there's a cost to it. Nice hot breakfast to start the day. The room's heater was not turned on till evening, which was unbearable on the cold raining day that I checked in. The hotel is located in a not very nice neighbourhood, and I do not encourage wandering around at night ..
Nice clean room, generally nice standard Bulbs mising from light fixtures, TV didn't work
breakfast was nice, plenty to choose from, conveniant for the concert.
receptionist was very helpful
A/C in room. Two bars of soap No lift from ground floor. Expensive food.
Great staff, good communal areas, rooms well equipped Some of the bathroom fittings are looking tired / worn out
Location of hotel to Cardiff. Cleanliness of room/hotel. Bar/dining area had a very good atmosphere
The company Since the Ryder Cup they've become over popular and there is a long wait for most things. Waiting for up to 20 minutes to tee off is not acceptable and tee times should reflex this
Food was excellent. Carrying of suitcases up two flights of stairs.(We are OAP's)
Well, priced hotel with good facilities
staff/food @ bistro & desk & concierge/door staff. received an upgrade so was delighted at that. That may have been due to my early arrival and time spent at the bar downstairs while waiting for room
The Spa and Gym It was full of wedding parties even on the Friday Night, who all appeared unable to control their kids.Stayed in the resort part last time, which was alot better.
Great choice of where to eat within this large hotel/resort complex, with prices charged not outrageous Disappointed in the en-suite bathroom facilities - not really up to expected standard. Requires a make-over with upgrade in shower, addition of a bidet, huge waste of water to get hot taps to run even warm. Also some good housekeeping needed in room, cupboard doors not fitting and housing for in-drawer hairdryer broken and could be hazardous - above comments left with hotel reception on departure.
Good experience No rooms that can accommodate 3 people
Attractive main building and grounds; very helpful staff; good food at a reasonable price. Cramped bedroom
Staff were very friendly and room very quiet. Room had everything I wanted / needed. Good Restaurant.
Great Hotel, Fantastic Food, great Staff, all in all a top notch hotel The Bed was too soft
Friendly staff, great location, good food.
Staff very friendly and helpful The door on the allocated room didn't close, so the alternative room I was given in the annexe was in desperate need of a refurb and a new mattress.
Friendly and helpful staff, good food, clean room Room quite small, shower over bath under sloping roof limited headroom.
Excellent value for money. Spacious rooms. Room was over the function room which had a disco on. However staff warned us that it was on and it finished when they said it would.
Friendly welcome and receptionist met my request for a room in main hotel. Young male in restaurant was vey professional and friendly My bedroom was very dusty and hot - decor is dated. Bar area was more like a station waiting room Receptionist on check out was eating her brakfast and did not ask if I had enjoyed my stay Directions to hotel on website could be clearer Your reservations system accepts Amex but hotel does not-this was not made clear at time of booking
Staff very friendly, if problems occured they were there to help straight away. Food in the restaurant was value for money, wide variety. Excellent breakfast. N/A
Very good value for money. Would certainly use it again and recommend it to others. None of note
I liked being able to take food and drink into my room and having a key to the hotel allowed me to have freedom that I didn't expect. Slightly out of the way, however there are buses into town.
what u get is what u pay would I use again no would pay extra to up grade
Can;t really go wrong at £32 for a twin. Sadly the pub was being renovated
excellent facilities and location
rooms very comfortable, staff very helpful. Adjacent pub very good food value for money.
This was my second stay there within a week, and I enjoyed my first one so much that I had no hesitation in rebooking it with you during a return trip. Not at all. I found everything to be exactly as described and the staff are excellent.
I had booked 2 rooms, the hotel only reserved 1. This caused challenges to our group. The hotel didn't apologize or try and make amends in any way.
Comfortable room and very helpful staff. Food at the adjacent restaurant was also of a good standard served by friendly stqaff Nothing
We found it very relaxing, nice to go away and not have any worries.A very comfortable room. Will deffinately do it again, in fact have already booked for April 2011. We were just disappionted that the restaurant and bar was closed, as we would of loved to used these, it was just unfortunate, the weeks clashed, but overall it didn't ruin our weekend with you. In April We hope we can use these facilities and look forward to it.
