Our legendary St. Regis Butlers deliver bespoke service day or night.
Pros: The hospitality was great as well as the villa and cleanliness. In addition, the spa was amazing. However, the Island was very empty and quite which could be an advantage or a disadvantage.
Cons: The food was terrible and overpriced. Also there weren't much water sports options available. Whenever my sister and I wanted to jet-ski, there was always one jet-ski available and so we didn't get to jet-ski together.
Pros: Over-water villa was superb in every way and housekeeping staff was outstanding.
Cons: Good prices are absurdly high, even after taking into account that everything has to be shipped in to this remote private island. Our butler was missing-in-action at times and was not as honest & forthcoming as I would have expected about seaplane departures and late checkout for Bonvoy Platinum Elite members.
Pros: The most luxurious hotel in the Maldives
Cons: No complaints.
Pros: only think they need change is change end of breakfest from 10.30 to 11.00
Cons: main beech is not perfect, but ours in from of BEACH villa was best, with full moon, magic!!!!!!!! cool jet ski and bicycles
Begin a love affair with Velavaru or Turtle Island. Accessible by a 40-minute seaplane ride from Velana International Airport, this 113-villa resort is located in the pristine South Nilandhe Atoll.
Pros: Great place for relaxion with amazing landscapes and sea life. Resort is clean, villas are in well mantained, staff very kind and helpfull. A great plus for us having two kids was the small kids club and playground and Tini who makes a lot of efort to entertain the children. Angsana villa offers very good space and is strategically placed at the end of the island. The shallow waters around, though not ideal for snorkeling, were again great for our small kids. With regards to the snorkelling, it is worth mentioning we had for the first time (at our third Maldives trip) close underwater encounters with rays and turtles!
Cons: Food is a bit too much on the Chinese / Indian side (70% of the resort clients are from China), however we got whatever we asked for the kids. On our trip back we had a two hour flight on the hidro-plane to Male as it wandered around to pick pasengers from other resorts
Pros: Service of waiters and staffs in the water sports center
Cons: Reservation and sales stuffs didn’t show any understanding and were not cooperative
Pros: I was traveling alone and very skeptical of going to a place where 90% where couples, however, I had a blast!!!! I meet so many great people from all around the world that I hope will be my friend for life. The room was great, loved the shower outside and my bed was perfect. The breakfast was great and the staff learned what I like and made easy to arrive and have all how I liked. I went snorkeling every day the Dive center people are amazing, I'm not listing everybody because I'm scared of forgetting someone!!! A special note for Ageel who made me swim in the open ocean without life jacket after 25 years since I did last, due to an almost drowning when I was 11 year old, Ageel was super patient and whiling to help. They have a bunch of cool snorkeling trips, I still need to return and try the dive. Bakuru, who took such of great care of my room leaving everything spotless, also an awesome dancer, you can't miss the Maldivian night I had a blast dancing with them all. The Birdman, every day at 10:30am and 4:30pm, there was him calling the colorful birds to eat on my hands. About the bar, fun spot! The guys at the bar made all they could to make me feel comfortable and welcome, even dough I was alone, I never felt alone. Special thanks to Ajmal and Ishmael for the fun night with the fire entertaining drinks and for being so attentive. Nittu for sharing the Maldivian culture and history. OMG there are so many things that I could be writing here forever. The singer and guitarist playing at the sunset were super great, they rock! I tried the restaurant on the villas side (forgot the name) the salmon was delicious. I also need to go back there to try the spa, as I have heard they are incredible. I can't list everyone but I'm thankful for my time there and for all the smiles the staff shared with me. This stay will be in my heart and I will remember it forever. I hope I can be back there soon!!!! :)
Cons: The only 2 things I didn't like was having to leave and to find some plastic caps and other plastics pieces in the sand (I believe left by other guests) Not the hotel fault, but wish people were a little bit more conscious about preserving such of paradise.
Pros: Everything except food variety
Cons: Food options could have been more in buffet and ala cart
Pros: People in the restaurants very nice and helpful
Cons: Compulsory 500$ (250$ pp) new year ev diner (without alcohol included) for a buffet diner (like the daily buffet but a bit better than the daily one, lobsters included)! I made a reclamation and the staff threats me of not allowing me in the plane for the way back to the airport if I would not pay! They offer me 100$ discount at the end. Les than half of the activities available, football, volley running were not for example.
Pros: The staff were very kind, the evening activities were unique and brought us together. We made many friends during those evenings.
Cons: The compulsory dinner. I have never heard of it anywhere. I felt like a hostage on holiday.
Pros: Most bungalows are right on the beach. There is choice of restaurants and activities. A-la-carte food, especially fish, is fabulous, buffet less so. In-villa dining does not come with additional charges (though prices are already extortionate i.e. 15$ for ice cream)
Cons: Not a family friendly service for a 5-star resort with 5-star bill. Endless journey on both ways and unable to provide exact schedule. Even though this is not strictly resort's fault, they could manage this better by allowing guests to check-out closer to the arrival of the seaplane. We waited 3 hrs in between the lobby (not air conditioned) and bar, and not one single soft drink offered - in sharp contrast with the arrival, when you are offered welcome cocktails and greetings (not in our case given that we arrived late due to late departure of the seaplane). We were refused access to their kids playroom during this wait because it was "break time" (in this kids play room you need to supervise your kids at all times so there ins't any need for a staff member to be there really). Breakfast was below expectation - it is said to be open until 10.30am but in fact food is not replenished after 9.30/45am. A few days we went at 10.00am because our baby slept until late and several items including bacon, sausages and even fruit and juices had finished and no longer replenished. Finally, housekeeping was unreliable despite generous tips. Not recommended for families with small kids.
When you stay at Sun Aqua Vilu Reef in Vilu Reef, you'll be on the beach and minutes from Meedhuffushi Island Beach and Meedhuffushi Island Pier. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a business center, and dry cleaning/laundry services. A roundtrip airport shuttle is available for a surcharge.
Pros: Initial impression of this beautiful island comes together to make perfect sense of the “getaway” theme, life there is peacefulhe and so quiet. Villa with private pool, was charmed by the design of the pool; infinity. Staff was very friendly and supportive for every step from check in to check out. The location and the view was amazing. The resort’s manageable size, no need to keep calling for a buggy.
Cons: No variety of restaurants and food quality is normal as they could do more. All inclusive sometimes is headache as there are certain items not included such as milkshake and others . It is better to sdandrdize the menu for more customer comfort as we are talking about little things.
Pros: Very nice staff and worm welcoming and good service. Clean rooms and quite island good for relaxing. Family friendly
Cons: No much food choices
Pros: Brilliant staff
Cons: Nothing it was amazing!
Pros: We couldn't ask for a better place for our honeymoon! The location is a real paradise on earth! The resort was full of any kind of comforts and facilities! The staff was super friendly and always ready to help! They were always smiling and greeting us! We will come back for sure!
Pros: Food was very diverse and of good quality. Some items ran out quite early during the meal periods though. Management should look into proper dosing of the items provided.
Cons: Being a 5 star provider, I found the beach villas not as well equipped as other resorts in the Maldives; only one sink in bathroom, rather simple bath with no spa facility (contrary to the brochure is implying), poor storage facilities (locker was just some shelving without any doors) Furthermore, there were quite some amenities broken or depreciated. Especially in our first villa (140); One electrical socket was not working 2 lightbulbs broken fridge not cooling at all and door in front of fridge gone one of the bed lights was broken; the cap was provisionally glued onto its stand with silicone kit but that had come apart again. The warm water was orange. We thought it was a common problem on the island but after relocating to 144 it turned out that this was a local problem Service of housekeeping was excellent (Nafil was very good and polite) but waiters were (initially) not very pro-active. Examples; They did not properly deck the table when we sat down (no desert cutlery, no napkins...) Did regularly not come to the table to ask whether we would like to drink something, both in restaurants as in bars. They were even biased against Asians... I wrote “initially” since when drawing their attention and requesting something, they were always kind and responded properly (except for the cook named Rob, who I personally saw acting very impolite to various Asian people)
Pros: Varied and tasty breakfast
Pros: The most amazing paradise on earth! Will be returning! Thank you!
Pros: Friendly , smiling & cooperative staff, Clean rooms Maintained facilities
Cons: The airport staff are not as good as the hotel staff, but it was ok
When you stay at aaaVeee Nature's Paradise in Dhoores, you'll be on the beach and convenient to Vommuli Pier. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary during limited hours.
Pros: Amazing place ...great location..friendly staff
Pros: The staff was nice & the resort is at a very good location & well maintained.
Cons: They cheated us when they said that we will get Airport transfers. It is just a scam. First on our way to the resort, we were left by the speed boat at a nearby island & there was no one from the resort to pick us up. We were at the island with no idea on what to do, then we called the resort reception & only then they send someone to pick us up. This experience was not the only one. During checkout we were told that a resort representative will be picking us up from the speed boat drop of point & when we reached after a tiring 5 hour journey, again there was no one to pick us up & when we called the reception they said that they cannot provide us an airport drop. Pathetic service by the resort.
Pros: Very nice, friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: The pick-up service at airport didn’t work well, if we didn’t do everything by ourselves we would miss the sea plane. Also the time of return flight was too tight, we arrived at airport too close of boarding time, although I asked them to book an earlier flight.
Pros: Relatively well preserved island with no sprawling sea villas destroying the reefs - a far cry from the typical over-developed Maldivian resorts. Low guest density so it does feel like you have the island to yourself at times. Fantastic beach - lack of man-made structures out to sea means you get a great stretch of fine sand, clear water, and great view. It's nature-based - you can walk barefoot everywhere. Overall, it was a very relaxing trip on a beautiful island - we were satisfied.
Cons: - Housekeeping could have been better - we had to request for body wash multiple times but it never showed up. - Food was average - not bad, but not great either. - One minus, but it's more to do with the nature-based resort, so in a way, not really their fault - there are wild roaches in the bathroom, so if you have a fear of roaches, you should be prepared to see multiple in the bathroom on a given night. Insect spray is provided in the room. - WiFi/internet speed was average - it was hard to even backup photos to cloud, but if you're not concerned about that and only want the internet for messaging, emails, and light web surfing, it's fine.
Pros: The island itself, the food was very good, and the whole stay on such an island was amazing experience
Pros: The STAFF - are very dedicated, attentive and educated, but they need to be more trained to raise them and the hotel to a higher level.
Cons: Little variety of food, overpriced food and drink.
Pros: aaaVeee was like a dream happened to us , We couldn’t believe that we were there . it was the core of our HoneyMoon trip although we visited 4 Countries in that Trip But we couldn’t forget it . We even thought of Naming our first Girl as aaaVeee
Cons: Nothing , Literally Nothing
Pros: This is one of the best island we have ever seen ( and we had been in many islands in Caribbean). Aaaveee resort is very calm place, not overcrowded with magical sand, amazing blue water. If you like snorkeling you will see there great coral reef with a lot of colorful fish, starfishes, tourtles, manatee etc. You are surrounded by a very tall and thin palms with coconut. We definitely came back there!!
Cons: Mosquitos. I assume that they are come from small pond in front of spa area.
You'll be on the beach with a stay at Filitheyo Island Resort in Filitheyo. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available on request).
Pros: Staff were friendly, great service. House Reef is beautiful, snorkeling and diving were fantastic. Delicious food, perfect weather and honestly the best holiday I've had!
Pros: The resort and all the staff are great. Attentive and very friendly. Everybody knows your name... Loved my villa, it really had that very close to the beach feeling. Because it was. Waking up in the morning was never anything but sweet. Snorkeling was great, right at my beach. Perhaps 20m to the wonderful house reef It has been affected by the climate (in 2016?) but it is beautiful. And the beauty of the recovery is so fascinating. All the fish are still there working on it. There is life absolutely everywhere. The personal cleaning staff of my place did a wonderful job. The sand is kinda challenging, but that it is swiftly cleaned away twice a day. Thought I had my friend Seifu in Whatsapp. But have changed SIM cards. Will try to change back. Whatsapp?
Cons: Internet is mostly lacking work. You can get internet at the service center, the bar and restaurant, but not very many bars. If you go here and want to keep connection with the rest of the world, buy a local SIM card with data. I missed that behind me while queuing for TMA there were big signes with Ooredoo that I really would have needes. Dont understand why the internet is so bad as the mobile network works so god.
Pros: - Location of our bungalow (number 93) - half board - food was amazing - awesome view of life underwater
Cons: - charging this much for using wifi is not fair when you pay a large amounts of money to stay here (we didn't need internet so we didnt pay but still..)
Pros: Breakfast was ok and the location was ok.
Cons: They charge you for wifi 125.00 US for 1 week and it sucked. The only food is the 2 restaurant if supper is not in your package. The buffet starts at 60.00 US each to 300.00 US each it way overpriced for what you get. The diving costs 110.00 US a dive. We where there only a week
Pros: It was our 5th times in this resort. We go regularly to filitheyo mainly for the beauty of the island. It's not an artificial island, but a very natural one with a large place for the jungle which is great. No cars, no noise…The beach is fabulous and the snorkeling incredible : we managed to see turtles, eagle rays, sharks and myriad of magical fishes like napoleon, titans, parot fishes, box fishes, etc.… You feel totally disconnected from the crazy world and this is exactly why you go to the Maldives. Staff was friendly and food good. The spa is very good too, located Inside the jungle in a very nice natural garden. As we are repeaters we had a free diner under the milky way, just magical. The staff and management have to be thanked sincerely for that :) The seaplane transfer is Always such a great experience.
Cons: The rooms are vintage and basic but it's not so important. Some places of the islands are kept hidden from view but are loaded with débris. They should do something about this. Also after several years in Filitheyo, I wish they would start to improve and Promote eco-friendly practices. We are in the age of responsibility for our planet and animals : stop the absurd crab race it's not respectful for animals ! and stop the fishing. We need to educate people to protect the nature not to kill it. On the same topic, more vegeterian options would be appreciated. Also we wish they would give more days off to the staff. You can stay 7 days or more and you'll see the same persons working days in a row for you. Not good.
Pros: a lovely breakfast with everything for everyone
Pros: I liked the reef, sand, restaurant.
Cons: There are so sweety skinny cats in the island, the are left to die without food, they have to feed them! They have also to improve clean of the room and island (some plastic on the sand and in the sea) I dont' like excursions.
Pros: Loved the house reef. We could walk out the door of our cabin and start snorkeling.
Cons: Nothing. We really enjoyed our stay.
Pros: Amazing location
Cons: Charge of still water
Pros: Very nice and helpfull owner!
Pros: People in the Guest House are awesome. Food very good and good excurtions! Raccommanded!
Cons: The position wasn't confortable for the harbor in order to take part everyday to the exurtions. The beatch and see in the island weren't good for being a Maldives place.

Cons: Nothing there to not like
