Roomy, clean, quiet, close to the dunes, friendly staff Bed was hard.
Close to the beach, nice rooms, very worth the dollar I would have to dig deep to find something I didn't like
Great customer service!
I booked the hotel and wasn't able to stay in it because there wasn't an elevator for my friend that is in a wheelchair. I was charged and wasn't able to get a refund because 72 hr policy. I tried calling all day and phone was busy all day. I was told I wasn't able to cancel It also smelled like Marijuana inside the main office.
Room smelt like urine and there was hair on the pillowcases
The solidity of the building, it had concrete floors and walls which made for a very quiet stay. Our room was clean, beds were comfortable, bathrooms were updated, air conditioner was effective and quiet enough to sleep with while on. Car parking spaces are somewhat limited
Spacious room, next to main route (good for a quick stay, next door to a nice Mex restaurant. The breakfast. Poor choice (toast with jam OR 1biscuit+gravy OR 2 pancakes), small portions, bad coffee. The 'breakfast ticket' is worth 3 dollars and can be used towards a purchase of a better breakfast.
Not too noisy. Staff attentive. Clean .
Given this is a one star hotel, the room had a fridge and was decent. Very nice and cheery front desk. Loved the restaurant across the street. For a one night drive thru at a one star hotel, things were good.
Close proximity to Oceano Dunes

Modern up to date appearance, clean, didnt smell, nice bathroom Strong smell in office, curry idk...office staff should be more presentable...
The room smelled like a bowling alley shoe locker
Central location for area services. Noise, small rooms, table unusable being so closed in. Maid service cleaned only half the room.

Breakfast buffet Too close to highway
We've stayed at the Oxford Suites half a dozen times over the last 5 years while my daughter attended Cal Poly SLO. The rooms are very comfortable and the suites were great for 4 of us. The hot breakfasts and the nightly wine reception is an added bonus. The staff is great and any problems are dealt with promptly. Great value for the money and I would definitley recommend to anyone. nothing
I loved how friendly the staff were and the included accommodations. The room had lots of space and was clean and comfortable. I would definitely want to go back. Couldn't think of something to dislike.
Staff was very friendly. Rooms were comfortable. Nice having something light to eat in the evening. Too close to freeway
I liked there was a bedroom and adjacent living room with a TV in both rooms. Location was good - right off 101. The breakfast was included, but very poor.
good hotel. ..nice room...good price!
Hotel staff was great... rooms where great and the view was amazing
Everything. From l, lovation, cleanliness, staff, view. Everything was amazing. There are a lot of hotels on the same street but this one looks and feels like a resort for a fair price. Defiantly going back!
The view was spectacular, and the hot tubs/pool/patios were excellent. Very relaxing evening by the ocean. The walls were a little thin, could hear the neighboring room's TV at 7am, and I do'n't think it was turned up very loud... So this really depends on who's next to you.
View from our room was fabulous. The outdoor area beautiful with lots of seating and they had fires going morning and evening. Every person who worked there were happy to be of service. Continental breakfast was good and kept replenished. Will definitely stay again. Not really the hotel's fault but when tide is high you can't access beach from their stairs but you are able to walk a couple of streets over to access a public staircase.
Great location...Beautiful ocean views... Get an ocean view room or you room will feel a little bit dark & dreary.
The ocean view also included construction site. Our last visit was in August with my husband, he was ill but he enjoyed the view from our room, it was perfect. He passed away in November. This trip was meant as healing and remembering. I was so very disappointed in my stay.
Rooms were clean, well appointed and recently renovated. I left my phone charger in the room. Staff committed to look into it with housekeeping and get back to me. It has been 6 days and I have not gotten the follow up promised.
Was very disappointed to find out that beach access was restricted due to the addition of hundreds of sharp rocks at base of stairs. No longer felt safe walking to beach with young infant in tow.
Scenery & Wildlife!!! People in general, :)
The view of the ocean was spectacular. Location and beach access was great. The pool and the three hot tubs were very nice. The people staying in the room on top of ours. They woke up around 5 am and made too much noise.
This place was awesome they upgraded me to an oceanfront view. The beach access is very convenient.
location is great checking in was a big problem. rooms were not available and we had to wait awhile for the cleaning staff to finish. front desk people seemed unorganized and confused but friendly.
Location - Fireplace Nothing
close to beach, nice view, pet freindly
The rooms were charming. Location was great. The size of the pool and pool deck is very small.
Rooms were clean and VERY nice! GREAT setting! Nothing! This is where we will stay next time we come to Pismo!
everything! When we checked in we were given a nice room with a balcony but it was facing a parking lot with the lovely sites and sound of highway 1. We consequently paid 65$ more a night for a gorgeous room that we walked out to a beautiful view.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was neat and very nice. This hotel is not only great for families, but it would be great for a romantic getaway as well. The breakfast was perfect for us to grab and go so we could get our day started at the beach!
Everything Especially little fireplace in the room. Friendly staff Shower pressies is low
Very friendly staff, loved the close walk to the beach as well as the pool and hot tub.
Although the property is older it was clean and the location was fantastic. The value was awesome.
It was a great location. No food available arriving after 830.
We liked the view of the beach from our room and the close proximity to the beach. This hotel is also very close to the pier and main shopping areas. The breakfast was pretty basic. I've stayed at lesser hotels that have a better breakfast than this hotel.
The beach is at walking distance which is great. The wifi was not connecting and very slow when it would, loud neighbors, and the lights would sometimes not turn on.
Loved the close proximity to the beach! No complaints here! Wifi not working too well
There was no heat for our room..,freezing
Bed was comfortable, lots of television channels. Very close to the water- you can walk right down to the beach. Great proximity to restaurants and shopping. Front desk staff was friendly and recommended a good place to eat. Not the most luxurious, but good for a vacation on a budget
We really enjoyed our stay. I booked this last minute while we were on a road trip up the coast. I liked how it was so close to the beach and we even considered staying another night. We had to keep going, but this place and the Pismo Beach area was definitely one of the highlights of our entire trip.
Room was reasonably clean. Walking distance to the beach. Bathroom needed a fresh coat of paint and better lighting. Neighbors were loud.
The location was great. The first room they gave us was not what I consider an ocean view. It was more like the view of the hotel to the south, a palm tree and a sliver of an ocean view. I paid for a room with an ocean view. The second room was great. Full ocean view. Yay!
My wife and I really enjoyed our room and the oceanfront view! We were so close to the ocean we left the sliding glass door open all night and fell asleep to the sound of the waves crashing and seeing the moonlight reflect off the ocean. The staff where very friendly and accommodating, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for great customer service and great views of the ocean without breaking your wallet! The seagulls can get pretty loud but that comes with the territory of being next to the ocean!
The views were amazing. the grounds were very clean and well kept. staff was very nice and accommodating. it was a perfect get-away from the city. I booked the trip through Kayak but the hotel staff charged me for the stay when i checked in. i am still waiting for my refund from the hotel.
Great complimentary breakfast. Terrific outdoor games (badminton, putting green, ping pong, etc). Easy access to the beach.
Very nice hotel, on a cliff top over beautiful Pismo beach.... The beach is easily accesible via a wooden stair structure shared by a couple more hotels... ( Lighthouse Suites is at the end of the line of hotels, so no neighbours wondering in front of your hotel rooms!) Great and helpful staff, in general a very joyful and relaxed atmosphere! Rooms are large (very much so) and clean, beds are comfy. Breakfast is, howeve,r not up to par.... Not bad to be honest, but just a few bread rolls, jam, butter, 3 types of fruit and yoghurt (coffee and orange juice too), are way far away from the promised "Continental breakfast"!! Plastic cuttlery and cups further support this case.
My husband and I stayed at the suite for his birthday weekend. The suite was very nice, clean and comfortable. Bigger than what I expected....breakfast was amazing I will return the summer with my kids next time because it was very kid friendly. I requested partial view of the ocean but that may be misleading since I really didn't see the ocean view from my window
Shower head was pretty weak and old looking, but everything else was perfect.
Nothing worth mentioning. Almost non existence service, rude staffs other than the couple at the registration counter. The room has no curtains or shades, except stained glass window. The lights are so bright outside, making it impossible to sleep at night! The heater in the room is extremely loud. The place is so poorly insulated and drafty, that you don't have any choice but to turn it on in winter. This place is a over priced motel coated in pink.
Everywhere you look you find amazement at the decor Fun and entertaining. The staff are most accommodating! Great getaway!
Unique character , nice location, friendly staff.. Having Mount Madonna so close by to be able to hike or jog up in the morning was great. Also very nice pool area. Restaurant and café very good. All in all a good value. A little dated
Exceptional spa service by Melissa and an overall state of mind that is total relaxation. Absolutely loved it. Nothing to dislike
There are li me 200+ rooms to stay in and each one has a different theme to them! The foods is great and the overall feel of this place is comfort! The staff were very nice and helpful. The breakfast was a little burnt but that is the first time eating breakfast there...I just hope it was a fluke!
Access to walking to all areas downtown. Easy access in parking. Quiet.
My friends and I stayed at the Avenue Inn after driving through Big Sur. We arrived after 10 pm and were greeted by Saul, who showed us to our room and gave some excellent dinner recommendations for late at night. The room was in great condition (newly renovated) and very comfortable for 4 adults to sleep in. Saul helped us in the morning by providing additional towels and helped with checkout as well. Overall we were very happy! Nothing - 100% would stay here again.
close to everything the breakfast
Great service, location, beds and showers!
Smallish room, but it was quiet, clean and comfy.
You rarely see properties that are this well maintained for such a great price. Perfect place to stay for access to Pismo Beach and surrounding areas.
This was just an overnight stay while we were on our way to Napa Valley. The room was clean and comfortable and the FREE breakfast they offered was an adequate start to the day (waffles, yogurt, fruit, cereal, boiled eggs). The location is conveniently off the freeway and only 2 miles to Pismo Beach. I would recommend this hotel. Pillows on the king size bed were very small. Refrigerator made a gurgling sound in the quiet of night but I simply unplugged it to resolve that problem.
The beds were comfortable and the rooms were very clean. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The AC did not work in my room and the elevators were EXTREMELY dangerous. The breakfast was not that good either.
The heated pool was nicely heated. The Breakfast was good--they even had bacon. This Best Western was really decorated with a western theme. Nothing. No problems. No issues. Only stayed one night.
Very charming for a Best Western. Lots of character to the price. Nice pool and spa. Adequate breakfast.
The room was very clean and had everything we needed. It was very quiet there. The continental breakfast was sufficient. The staff was very helpful and kind. The location was within close driving distance to many attractions: Pismo Beach, Arroyo Grande Village, convenient shopping nearby, and the wine country areas. I would stay there again based on the location and price.
Receptionist very nice elderly man I liked the decorations inside the hotel Swimming Pool wasn't open, but it didn't matter that much cause we were only staying for one night.
No air conditioning. How can you not have air conditioning. Also our phone in the room did not work and they could not fix it. What if there was an emergency. Not okay
The grounds and the location are absolutely gorgeous. Their Oceanview garden is a wonderful place to read a book enjoy a coffee or take a short walk. The entire Oceanview building and much of the grounds are currently under construction and being refurbished. Our unit was totally out of date, smelled like cigarettes, the air mattress they gave us for our son to sleep on deflated in the middle of the night and it was just disappointing compared to the pictures we saw when we booked. The price was too much for what we got.
Excellent facilities. Quiet.
My daughter and had a great stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We loved the beds. Pillow could have been better. The hotel was very quire which made it easy to sleep. Check in and out was very smooth. Very friendly staff. The only down fall was the price. Our room was expensive with a ocean view, but there were many rooms with ocean frontage that were double the price. Beautiful facility, but I'm not sure if we'd stay again because of the price.
Beautiful view Outdated decorating
good location, nice view over looking the ocean no air conditioning, room was very hot at night time.
The ocean view from our room was great. The rooms were comfortable and there was a restaurant right on the property that made it convenient. There was no continental breakfast included.
bait and switch on the room. forced to pay additional to getary something liveable, no beach access contrary to advertising and even directions sinage on the property. Charged 2x what the room was worth
The room was very quiet - nice for a light sleeper like me.
Breakfast and happy hour were great The air conditioner was poor, carpets were dirty
The hotel was under construction & I was not advised prior to my stay
Extremely friendly and helpful staff! Also rooms are impressive as are the amenities the hotel offers (included cocktail hour and excellent made-to-order breakfast included!)
- breakfast - free happy hour - AC didn't work - was given a queen instead of king room - was charged the wrong rate (booking.com rate was $200/nt, theirs was $290) - front desk didn't care that the AC didn't work or that I was given the wrong room, instead told me to book through their site and not booking.com, had to spend 15m getting them to agree on the originally booked price
Carpets seemed to be worn in lounge area
Why I booked the room, the site said WiFi access for free. But the hotel said there was fee and usually website other than theirs do not give correct info. I argued with them finally they gave me the access for free. Not a good experience. Very old hotel.
large rooms, suite hotel which is great for families complimentary breakfast and reception staff friendly and helpful location parking hotel is looking a bit dumpy in terms of cleanliness carpets were dirty and very worn overall interior was dark and needs freshening up first time i've stayed in the hotel where i've had to call housekeeping for cleaning/service
Great free breakfast clean quiet comfortable. Good beds. No
Loved the location! So close to everything I wanted to do and can't beat the amazing view! Will definitely be staying here again! N/A
Nice room great location
Location Kids in the hot tub after sunset
Its a great location- it's right on the beach, and it had a nice area to relax with a beer and take in the sunset. It was a perfect place to stop while driving down route-1. Nothing
Not much The hotel is run-of-the-mill commonplace. The design, decor, finishes and appointments are mediocre. There is substantial deferred maintenance that needs to be done. All aspects of the hotel are average-such a pity considering the cliffside location.
The view was amazing room was beautiful very good service
The fireplace in the room is a nice touch. And the bed was extremely comfortable. I felt the price was a little too high, compared to a beautiful hotel we stayed in after this in San Francisco, which was a lot cheaper.
location, view no hooks for robes, towels etc., no vanity mirror, all paper, plastic, styrofoam materials instead of reusable!
The views No easy system to acces wifi at room; it looks kind old and some furnitures and the chairs at the terrace were broken.
The Location and the pool area are beatifull The rooms facing the parking lot are noise
The beach, sea views, restaurant, location, room.
Top location, large rooms great facilities
beautiful room and helpful staff, everything was top class, highly recommended nothing
Beach location, pool, restaurant. Not really.
proximity to highway and beach The pillows were like Rocks. Bring your own!
The room we booked was better than we expected, lovely views, the bathroom was big with a his & hers sink. The staff were very nice too.
Beach and facility itself Nothing
Great location, with private beach access. Every room is facing the water and has a balcony so you have the most relaxing and amazing sunset/sunrise views. You're a short drive to the shell beach restaurants and to grover beach's downtown area with more great bars and restaurants. 10 minutes to the dunes. Highly suggested, we will definitely be back :)
everything was wonderful from the rooms to the staff. excellent service, clean rooms with everything working, a lot to do in around the Motel.......our first of many stays.
We always have a great stay at this hotel. We will definitely be back the next time we are in San Luis Obispo.
Clean bathrooms, great staff!
Other than loud neighbor it was s berry comfortable stay. Will stay there again.
The hotel was comfortable, the room clean, well arranged with an excellent bed; something we've had every time we stayed at a Great Western. Decent price. Good, helpful staff. We'll use this chain as our default hotel.
Extremely helpful staff
Quiet and clean No elevator
This basic room provided comfortable beds, a clean room and bathroom, a good breakfast, and updated furniture and electronics. Plenty of outlets. Couldn't hear anything from adjacent rooms. We just needed a place to rest during our road trip and this place was by far the most expensive we stayed at. If you have to make a last minute reservation be prepared to pay at least a 50% hike up.
My room was clean, quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was very helpful and polite. The hotel is in a great location, close to SLO, shopping and the beach areas. I would stay again.
was clean, quiet, convenient location, nice staff breakfast was free but not very good.
Price and all other aspects of the hotel were good. Nothing fancy, but the hotel satisfied what I wanted for this trip. Wine and cheese benefit could be improved or dropped, minimal effort was done on the cheap.
walking distance to cerro (the big mountain in town) trails. Far from the downtown corridor. , you have to drive or bike into town.
We enjoyed the feeling if privacy. The 11am check out felt rushed and not up to the relaxed vibe standards.
Hot springs water No baby crib available No additional movable bed. No breakfast included with expensive room price (over $300) dirty and old room and deck, jaccuzi No matches or lighters. Not very friendly staffs. We were disappointed with this resort. NOTHING GOOD
The gardens by the road. That whole area was beautiful. I liked my own hot tub. Comfy beds. The bridge to the bike path was awesome. The employees were very nice. The front area and gift shop were beautiful. A bit run down and stained (bathroom, table in room, old chair at hot tub). Put some hooks on the walls and people will be more inclined to reuse their towels and not throw them on the floor. Also, it was loud and creaky because of the old building. We were below in "Harmony" and when the people above us walked, it was very loud. And it was very dark to enter the hallway and get to our room...kinda ghetto. Also, it would've been nice to know ahead of time how steep the hillside was with inadequate parking (I am temporarily handicapped, post surgery.), and how strong the sulfur smell would be with the hot tub. Plus, they are really NOT hot tubs...that stay hot. They are just large tubs. You have to fill them to use them every time. Clarity on all that would've been so much better.
I had a relaxing time in Sycamore Springs. My boyfriend & I spent a few days & even had a romantic candlelit dinner at the hotel restaurant. We really enjoyed the convenience of our very own hot tub. The decor in the rooms was outdated, and I saw some stains in the bathroom when we arrived.
Private hot tub Exterior building and hall way need to update make them new.
Well, where do I start? We showed up at 3pm and were told that the room was not ready yet and that they would all us when it was ready. We sat out on the beach and had not heard from them by 4pm. We walked back to the hotel only to find out that they had just checked in the wrong ppl into our room, asked them to leave and then gave us the slightly used room with sand on the bed. Our room was not an ocean view, instead it was directly over an extremely dilapidated residence with a large barking dog and noisy residents. We are used to traveling a lot and would also say that the rooms are fairly small for a family. We most likely would not return here, but if you want to try it out I wouldn't stay in anything other than an ocean view. Throughout the trip the elevator was not working. My husband has a knee injury and carrying stuff up and down stairs was not helpful. I decided to relax in the tub, only to find no bathtub, only a shower. Yes, there is a hot tub on the balcony if you don't mind the dog barking at you. Then we decided to watch a movie, only to find that the movie channel wasn't working and no repairman was around to fix it. The following morning a breakfast basket was delivered, which was pleasant, and shortly thereafter the repair man showed up and fixed the TV. We returned to our room after dinner only to find out it wasn't working again. The front desk said they would reset it and call us.....no return call again, no movie channel, no surprise.
I just stayed for one night on a weekday during a trip up the coast, and the SeaVenture was by far the most relaxing experience. The feather bed was divine, the view unmatchable, and the hot tub made the gloomy weather enjoyable. I would reccommend calling in to book an oceanview room, and to stay on a weekday or off season to avoid the noise and crowds. Loved the soaps too!
I thought by choosing the most expensive room on your site was paying for a beach view. I found out you can only reserve beach view rooms by calling directly the hotel. The rooms are extremely small, especially for the price. I would not stay there again.
Exchanged room to a room with a view, and extended stay by one night. A good getaway and convenient to pier and restaurants.
Amenities include private hot tub on each balcony; fireplace in every room; excellent beds and linens; right on Pismo Beach. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the bottle of Pinot Noir on arrival was a nice touch. There is a good gift shop area in the lobby with reasonable prices. The breakfast basket delivered to the door (order placed the night before) was fabulous, very well done, and what was supposed to be hot, was hot - for $5.00 - REALLY!
My husband made the reservations for my birthday. The room was nice I enjoyed the jucuzzi and the nice location. The only problem I encountered was the dining room was not available the weekend we stay at the SeaVenture. We had to leave the room when I had anticipated in staying in and enjoying a nice quiet evening. One positive thing occured from this inconvenience we had dinner at the 'CRACKED CRAB' which was totally satisfying. Good atmosphere, good food, excellent service, and a wonderful time!
We love staying at the SeaVenture. It was our honeymoon hotel back in 1998, and we've been back several times. Being close to the beach is great, except when there's an event happening in downtown Pismo (get's noisy). Rooms are great for couples. Get a little cramped with families. Recommend the Lighthouse in that case...although you lose some convenience walking to the beach. The hot tub balconies are great. Ocean view is spectacular. Rooms are comfortable and quiet. Breakfast in a basket is quite good. Great place to get away.
Stayed for a few days in October 2008. Can't wait to come back. We liked that the resort was in walking distance to the pier, shops and restaurants. Staff was very pleasant and was able to answer questions about the local area.
Loved it! Private spa is clean and well maintained
A wonderful experience at the SeaVenture is always a guarantee. The spa deluxe room has everything a couple needs to have the most romantic vacation ever!! This is a favorite of my and my husband for our anniversary. The wonderful service and food is incomparable in the area. Not to mention the beautiful view of the pacific ocean. In room jacuzzi, plush robes, and the daily continental breakfast delivered to our door! It really doesn't get better than this for your dollar. We would recommend the SeaVenture to any couple young or old for the best romantic stay on the Central Coast.
The hotel was wonderful. We enjoyed the hot tub on our balcony and the fireplace in the room. The continental breakfast at our door was ok, I think the hotel could make it a little nicer by making it more 'home made'. Our only complaint would be on the second morning we had to call and ask when our breakfast would be delivered as it was almost noon when we called. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I am looking forward to coming again soon!
This is our favorite beach hotel so far!!! The hotel is small and cozy with the closest proximity to the ocean. Step out your door and your literally on the beach. Ocean view rooms are amazing, spent most of our time out on the balcony with the hot tub. Would recommend 100%!!!
