We've stayed at the Oxford Suites half a dozen times over the last 5 years while my daughter attended Cal Poly SLO. The rooms are very comfortable and the suites were great for 4 of us. The hot breakfasts and the nightly wine reception is an added bonus. The staff is great and any problems are dealt with promptly. Great value for the money and I would definitley recommend to anyone. nothing
Breakfast buffet Too close to highway
I liked there was a bedroom and adjacent living room with a TV in both rooms. Location was good - right off 101. The breakfast was included, but very poor.
good hotel. ..nice room...good price!
Staff was very friendly. Rooms were comfortable. Nice having something light to eat in the evening. Too close to freeway
I loved how friendly the staff were and the included accommodations. The room had lots of space and was clean and comfortable. I would definitely want to go back. Couldn't think of something to dislike.
wifi not working. 3 lights not working. dirty towels. shower drain blocked.
I was really impressed with everything. The Staff were helpful in every way.
This is one of the worst hotels I've stayed in over many years. At max, I'd pay $59 a night as it is basically a roof over your head. We paid $189 due to it being Cal Poly move-in weekend but you can't charge that amount for the hotel it is. It hasn't been renovated for over 10 years I'm guessing by the look of the rooms.
My room was clean and staff were friendly. The mattress in the room sagged in the middle, the wifi was very weak, and there were homeless people hanging out by the dumpsters.
It's located adjacent to a Denny's and iHop and other restaurants are a stones throw away. The bed was very hard and the floor carpet looked dingy.
After I left my wallet behind, staff contacted me to let me know and then were very accommodating in making arrangements to have it sent to me.
Actually a nice place to stay for the price you pay. Internet. Kept going in and out. Had to be right by lobby to get a constant connection.
Found a used " Q-tip" on floor next to the bed. Other than that our stay was good
The housekeeper was using our bathroom when we got into our room...so weird. Also, there was not fitted sheet on the bed. That seems really gross to me.
There was a mistake with our reservation and they were very unhelpful in trying to help. The person in front of us even had the same mistake with their reservation and they were unwilling to do anything to try to resolve the situation. On top of a horrible check in experience, we checked into our room and had a giant bug in the room. They were helpful in letting us change rooms after we told them about the bug.
My stay here was very comfortable. It was clean, the staff was hospitable & it was in a great location. The price was very reasonable also. I would definitely stay here again.
Easily accessible from the freeway, clean sheets, and towels. It was the small details that could be better. The bathroom needs some repairs done. Shower was not working properly and water kept dripping from the bathtub faucet.
under $100 and you can walk to the beach! right off 101, but room was quiet at night.
The location. 3 blocks from the beach. The room was dirty, holes in the sheets, WiFi didn't work, week old pastries for breakfast. heat control in the room was unregulated.
I'm not sure I enjoyed myself there, but after a few days on the road and hot shower was nice The walls were so extremely thin, we could hear the couple next door making love. There was no co air climate control. You could hear the highway at night.
The room was booked because it had a refrigerator & microwave & I presumed a coffee maker as all others we have been in had one. There were was no coffee maker & no cups of any sort in the room , even to drink water from, which is the only hotel in 3 weeks on the road to not even supply a plastic cup!
Room was clean and staff were friendly. Don't expect a continental breakfast. Breakfast consisted of muffins and coffee/tea in the Motel reception with nowhere to sit. The Motel served our purpose as a base from which to travel, but do not expect to be near the beach.
Rooms refurnished, clean nothing
Good proximity to restaurants, shops and beach a Little noisy as it is next to 101
It was perfect for what we needed. It's nothing fancy, but suited it's purpose. Quit, low key, and close to downtown, fuel and highway. The owner/manager was friendly and allowed us to check-in early. The bed was double wrapped and clean, which was a concern for my fiancé. Over all we had an Amazing trip. My fiancé is 6'6" and his knees touched the wall when he sat on the toilet. Although, I was amused by it. No clock in room.
Only a short ride from the Grover Beach Amtrak, Arroyo Village Inn puts you in prime position to eat breakfast at the Village Cafe, see the village bridge (which is closed for repairs, but stil viewable), and hear the AG roosters rousing all. The Inn offers well-priced, big rooms that easily accommodate riders, their bikes, and their gear. The Arroyo Village Inn is perfect as a budget pitstop, with very friendly staff -- great on a bike tour, but maybe not enough amenities for an extended/more leisurely stay.
Nice motel very closer great Nope
My friends and I stayed at the Avenue Inn after driving through Big Sur. We arrived after 10 pm and were greeted by Saul, who showed us to our room and gave some excellent dinner recommendations for late at night. The room was in great condition (newly renovated) and very comfortable for 4 adults to sleep in. Saul helped us in the morning by providing additional towels and helped with checkout as well. Overall we were very happy! Nothing - 100% would stay here again.
Great service, location, beds and showers!
Smallish room, but it was quiet, clean and comfy.
close to everything the breakfast
LOCATION Read all reviews. Same bad experience with the owner, room smelled very bad, door lock so old it was inoperable. We checked in and out within 10 minutes, it's that bad
Awesome hotel, been going here for years! It would have been nice if they had more TV channels for kids.
Great location, room was clean with big couch and extra beds, close to beach and walking distance to restaurants and nite club. Close to the famous cinnamon rolls and coffee for the morning. Pool was down but that didn't matter when you have a beautiful beach.
The motel is clean and only a block off the beach in the down town area of Pismo Beach. the motel is dated and the office does not open until 8:00 AM making early check out a little difficult.
Close to everything.....a minute walk to beach, pier, food, and shopping. Pool was out of service due to construction and never noted on any website....needless to say my son was disappointed. Continental breakfast displayed on sign in front of hotel consisted of only regular coffee ( no decaf), orange juice, and mini muffins.
Right near the beach, epic Was no heater and and some outlets didn't work
This hotel is a block for the beach and behind Brads Seafood and across from Splash. The location was great, We arrived 20 minutes early and told we could not check in. The room was ready we were sitting on a bench right in front of the window. The room was tiny the staff unfriendly. The breakfast a joke small muffins and coffee. Room is tiny!!!!
Location Room was hot due to heater pumping hot air (unable to turn off). When I booked the room it was for 2 queen beds, got a queen and a double. Room wasn't very clean.
i really think the price was excellent for location hope they stay like that and the room yes its not motel 6 yet but it was quit nice nope was great
The best thing about this hotel was it was right on the pier other than that was a horrible experience Well let's start off with there was lipstick on my pillowcase pretty gross then there's bedbugs in the bed I took pictures of them disgusting on top of that tried to call the office to the inform them and the phone did not work
The best thing about the Hotel is the location its very close to the beach and the downtown area. The bathroom has be remodeled and very nice. The staff was very nice. What I didn't like was the carpet were very dirty they turned the bottom of your socks black. The front door was very hard to get open due to excess paint, the windows would not lock not very secure. I told the manager said didn't have much crime in area.
The hotel is located in a fantastic spot. The beds are comfortable and very clean. The staff(ed) very helpful.
Bed was comfortable, lots of television channels. Very close to the water- you can walk right down to the beach. Great proximity to restaurants and shopping. Front desk staff was friendly and recommended a good place to eat. Not the most luxurious, but good for a vacation on a budget
Although the property is older it was clean and the location was fantastic. The value was awesome.
It was a great location. No food available arriving after 830.
We really enjoyed our stay. I booked this last minute while we were on a road trip up the coast. I liked how it was so close to the beach and we even considered staying another night. We had to keep going, but this place and the Pismo Beach area was definitely one of the highlights of our entire trip.
Loved the close proximity to the beach! No complaints here! Wifi not working too well
The beach is at walking distance which is great. The wifi was not connecting and very slow when it would, loud neighbors, and the lights would sometimes not turn on.
Room was reasonably clean. Walking distance to the beach. Bathroom needed a fresh coat of paint and better lighting. Neighbors were loud.
Very friendly staff, loved the close walk to the beach as well as the pool and hot tub.
There was no heat for our room..,freezing
We liked the view of the beach from our room and the close proximity to the beach. This hotel is also very close to the pier and main shopping areas. The breakfast was pretty basic. I've stayed at lesser hotels that have a better breakfast than this hotel.
Beautiful view Outdated decorating
The room was very quiet - nice for a light sleeper like me.
No air conditioning. How can you not have air conditioning. Also our phone in the room did not work and they could not fix it. What if there was an emergency. Not okay
The ocean view from our room was great. The rooms were comfortable and there was a restaurant right on the property that made it convenient. There was no continental breakfast included.
The grounds and the location are absolutely gorgeous. Their Oceanview garden is a wonderful place to read a book enjoy a coffee or take a short walk. The entire Oceanview building and much of the grounds are currently under construction and being refurbished. Our unit was totally out of date, smelled like cigarettes, the air mattress they gave us for our son to sleep on deflated in the middle of the night and it was just disappointing compared to the pictures we saw when we booked. The price was too much for what we got.
bait and switch on the room. forced to pay additional to getary something liveable, no beach access contrary to advertising and even directions sinage on the property. Charged 2x what the room was worth
good location, nice view over looking the ocean no air conditioning, room was very hot at night time.
Excellent facilities. Quiet.
The resort-like amenities
From the moment we arrived we knew that we had booked the best hotel for the price in town. We drove by 9 other SLO hotels and Quality Suites was quality.

The breakfast was great.

The room set up was a little strange as the bathroom sink was in the bedroom, so if you were brushing your teeth, whomever was in bed would be staring right at you. but, the room was clean and spacious. The staff was welcoming and eager to serve.
Living room and bedroom each with a tv which helps when you have kids. Breakfast is made hot to order. Loved the hotel. Parking was a tad tight.

The great customer service! No.

The fireplace was nice and cozy Doesn't work in the rain.Tv was very poor.Bathroom was tiny.
The room was big, the breakfast was substantial. But the construction was disturbing the peace and quiet of guests. My husband called and complained and they did not stop any construction until past 11:00 am. By that time, we were so fed up & left. They were renovating the hotel. The noise at 9:00 am was very, very, very AWFUL! It was bordering on the ridiculous. I would not have paid $-- for this freaking room.
The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The pool was empty and in disrepair.
The room was clean and the bed was comfy. The restroom too was adequate. Everything was great for a one night stop through San Luis. The location was literally down the street from the freeway, a gas station, the downtown area and two mins away from the mission we were there to see. Sure the exterior is no Hilton resort, but the price is great. The pool is basically a trash or deconstructed pit, but if the owner is smart, he'll just have it filled and have the area made into more parking space. Because a pool is not necessary for the place.
Great little place. Everything was clean. The hotel was right there when i needed it.
When looking for a simple place to rest while traveling, the San Luis inn does that well. While being a short walk to downtown it is also close to the highway without being loud. Breakfast was a little sparse but Jack in the box is across the street.
Stayed the night. The room was large, clean and comfortable for our need. The Inn is not a vacation spot itself but it is cheap and a great place to stay if you have a car and you are passing in the area or would like to viait thia nice town. There isn't much one can expect for such a low cost but 'breakfast' was coffee and orange juice, two types of store cakes and two types of cereal. OK
great breakfast uncomfortable pillows
Convenient location. Booked on Kayak the same night. A Sunday night booking so I think there were available rooms everywhere. For a Budget option it is a great place. Coffee, Juice and Rolls for the breakfast is a nice morning starter.. Parking is very tight. Outside seems run down but the rooms are kept nicely.
Clean room Fridge Microwave Wood floors Shower and tub Pricing No pool(empty) Low budget breakfast(should just not have one) Fridge needed more cleaning Parking (big trucks in small spots) All night people in and out Curtains (need darker ones that fit windows)
All very clean. The room was comfortable and the bed was super comfortable. I loved that the room had a fridge and microwave, most places don't. Everything was great.
The staff was unfriendly. The pool is under construction and this wasn't disclosed before booking. The room had an overpowering smell of cleaner. The free breakfast was only cold cereal.
clean room, new quiet heater/air conditioner, great price It's very close to the highway so when there is traffic you hear it. Nothing fancy, but everything in the room worked, including the wifi.
The hotel was very accommodating when I called ahead and requested an early check-in since we had an early afternoon wedding to attend. It also seemed like the bathrooms had been recently updated. However, we were uncomfortable being located in such a cramped, behind the laundry facilities hotel room. There was a hole in the wall near the mini-fridge and we had to park way down the street near someone's home because there was no parking when we got back.
Very nice people at the front desk. Older motel that has been given a fresh coat of paint, but clean inside and out. What I really liked is that it looks like the work is done by the owners themselves, so there is an attention to detail that you don't typically see with work done by professionals.
Registration was brusque and wasn't sure what to do with my credit card returned by the clerk who licked her fingers during sign in.
It was affordable and conveniently located. The bed wasn't terrible and the room contained a mini fridge and microwave. I was able to book a room on short notice. It was a cold night and the heater kept me warm enough. I arrived around 9 pm. First I waited at the desk for several minutes ringing the bell and eventually hollering "hello?" toward the back to find out if there was a live human around. Still nothing. I called them from my cell phone and a woman picked up and apologetically emerged from the back, appearing to have just woken up from a dense, deep sleep. She mentioned nonchalantly that she didn't think the wifi was working and hoped it came back by morning. The room was nothing fancy but had at least the essentials. The wifi was out for most of the night but the cable worked. I immediately found several small ants in the bathroom, which didn't freak me out much because I respect ants for their tenacity and teamwork, but would still much prefer not to have them in my room. I could not get any water to come out of the shower no matter which ways I turned, tilted, and twisted the knob. I didn't expect much from this place, and chose it solely on price and location, but I still left quite disappointed.
Price, clean, parking. Poor internet wifi in my room which was far from lobby.
The location was concient however it in no way made staying at that hotel worth it. The hotel was dirty, old and run down. All which would have been fine if the price was right. However upon checking in the front desk staff insisted we owed more money then Kayak said and tried to hassle us into paying more. They did no provide a print out of the costs and we we finally did get an itemized recipt it was clear they were gouging us.
The proximity of the motel to the places we were visiting. the carpet was not as clean as I would have liked it to be. There was also a significant noise incident with drunk men pounding on doors, yelling, and generally acting obnoxious between 1 AM and 3:30 AM within the motel complex. If there was security at the site, this incident could have been cut much shorter.
location-quiet even though next to the freeway no hoghway noice-nice size room decebt parking very clean overpricded=hoildau weekend
lots of great food within walking distance. And about a 10 minute walk to Downtown SLO. N/A
We needed a cheap hotel to sleep at while visiting friends in San Luis and winetasting in Paso. For how cheap the hotel was, we were worried what the hotel would be like- but it was just fine. It had a good location- only a $5 cab ride from downtown bars and its right across the street from a Jack in the Box and Taco Bell, for late night snacks.
Good size room. The bed is too soft. The pillow too small. The so-called "continental breakfast" is very symbolic and cheap. I would rather they don't offer that so we don't count on their breakfast.
Nothing Rooms were very old and felt dirty and dingy. The rooms stunk horribly. I'd expect a hotel like this to be $45/night at the most.
Convenient for travelers, just out of highway The carpeted floor of the hotel is very dirty, rather disgusting. The room was fair.
A peaceful and quiet hotel with everything in order. Friendly and helpful staff.
This is literally the cheapest hotel in the area, literally. There were at least 3 other hotels within spitting distance, but this one is the least expensive. It was fine for a quick stopover in SLO but I wouldn't recommend spending your vacation here. It's definitely a budget hotel but it was clean, warm and safe. As long as you have a decent buzz and a good sense of humor this place will do just fine. The bed was firm, the pillows were soft and the water was hot. Contrary to other reviews, the heater worked. The remote however, did not. We were placed in a handicapped equipped room, though neither of us have a disability. Overall it was ok but the shower was laughable at about 4 ft high and poor drainage. The bathroom was practically flooded by the time I finished splashing water on myself. But the water was hot.
location is convenient, breakfast was acceptable even it was small portions a 1/4 of a muffin, cereal, milk, oj, and coffee. room has a smell, poor maintenance, handicapped room when we are not in that need.
It was cheap and located close to the college and downtown San Luis Obispo. It needs some TLC, missing light bulbs, slightly torn curtain, bathtub tiling done very poorly.
It was within walking distant of downtown in a safe area with a gorgeous view of the mountains. For the price we paid I wasn't expecting much, but was very pleased to get a clean room, free wifi and breakfast in the morning! That's more than some nicer hotels I've stayed in. Highly recommend staying here if you're not looking for a luxury experience, just quiet, clean rooms.
Top shower probably borrowed from a strip mining company. Short walk into town where there are plenty of bars and resturaunts. Very mean breakfast (coffee and a cake). No double glazing, and right next to the freeway, so no need for a morning call. Cold with a very small and noisy heater.
not much --it took 3 tries to get a key that worked. the room dan opened shampoo bottles in the shower, cigarette burns in the sink. see above.
Liked that we were within walking distance of most attractions we wanted to visit. No pet area(per se) for curbing pets.
Its location near the city center and cleanliness.
It was quiet the night I stayed. The shower curtain rod was broken.
Comfortable. Had wi fi, iron, hair dryer etc. affordable for the location.
Good value for the money. Clean, comfortable. No noisy guests. Convenient location. Morning buffet could have a few more choices.
Friendly staff. Hotel room was quite. very small pool, cold. Good breakfast. Overall good amenities for room price.
It's a lovely town and the hotel just being up the hill is very convenient to everything, very good value
Just a decent clean hotel for a quick nights stay while on the road for business. No complaints.
Was just off the freeway & close to town. Room was good size & clean.
Clean, comfortable, good wifi. No elevator
The staff, the poor quality of breakfast
