I absolutely thought the staff was great. From the receptionist(s) - like Miryim to Susanne, to the Morning Breakfast staff - like Zsofia. There were all very helpful, and kind. The roads to get there are still being built out, as such, you seemed to have to drive a circular course to get there. Regardless, it was easy if you have GPS.
The atmosphere was very comfortable, and the dining was pleasant. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Staff Slow internet, no laundry, house keeping doesn't clean everyday
Close to Leiden with parking facilites, check in 24h, very calm even if it is near a high way. Practical for bussiness trip. Room big enough for baby stuff.
Staff in reception very good, staff in dining room poor. The surroundings are terrible. Common area too cramped, not nice and difficult to find. Breakfast boring - not up to expected standard for that price.
small size and convenient location on busline my husband called and had trouble reaching me. A message was not left for me which he had requested (alles goed thuis). Granted he spoke broken Dutch so the desk person may have thought this a crank phone call but he could have checked with me first( it was early in the morning and I was there) My husband called to make sure I had arrived safely
Smoking rooms and safety parking zone To take care in cleaning the smoking rooms, and to improve its client service abilities, bad wireless internet connection
yes. breakfast not included in the rate, extra pay
Sorry, nothing much. Acting manager did not know where nearest atm was, and had very little information on buses. This hotel caters for a business person, who drives, and not really suitable for tourists. No bbc/sky news tv.
We asked for a non-smoking room, but the hotel was overcrowded, and we had to stay in a smoking one, which was horrible. Sleeping with an open window was very noisy.
The staff were friendly and very helpful
Very convienent location
It's well-suated to visit several towns - coastline is nice - with walks through the dunes- cycling breakfast too expensive 18 euros - I think it would be better to have everything included- pay a bit more - but if you have breakfast supper and a night it costs the same as in a five-star
Friendlyness and helpfull personnel Lack of airco. On warm days with THE flat roof, THE rooms are to warm
Used this hotel as sleepover to catch the next day a schphol flight for which it is a good price/quality alternative.
Room was very nice, new, and clean. The room has modern style. And there are many activities: blowling, swimming pool .... There was a problem of computer so many guestes including my group had to wait for hour to check in.
Breakfast was served every day in the other rooms. Last day we were walking arround the hotel at least 10 minutes to find the right lounge. Nothing to do after 9PM, when pool is closed. No connections to the city (bus or train).
The room was exactly what we wanted. Very comfortable, great staff, close to everything.
Very helpful staff, good facilities, we liked that although it was a business hotel, families were also welcome. The restaurant menus did not offer a great choice and were not suitable for young families, the €18 breakfast was excessive for what was on offer.
Cleanliness of room good but inside toilet was not clean. No comfortable easy chairs in room - although plenty of space. Should have been 2 large chairs with small table. Breakfast should have been included.
room and toilet/ shower like a backpackers' hotel, not a 4start hotel!
Modern, lovely, clean rooms. An incredibly helpful staff, gave great information and suggestions. Their swimming center was quite a treat. Many amenities. Breakfast seemed quite expensive, so we didn't even bother.
It was indeed buffet breakfast, swimming pool There is no possibility to open window to take fresh air from outside.
total relaxation in superb enviroment
Great hotel for families with children. The hotel is a little bit far away from the Leiden, however it is easy to reach the city center for car travellers.
We really enjoyed our stay here, the rooms were great, very clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was sumptuous with lots of choices. All in all, the hotel is perfect for families with young children.
Sauna and great rooms -
The hotel is very kid friendly. The buffet breakfast and dinner were very over priced for the quality of the food.
It was perfect with young children. They could run around safely and had the playground and the swimming pool. We also liked the fact that we could hire bicycles at the hotel.
The breakfast was wonderful no
Room was nice and clean and breakfast was good Lack of supervision in pool and kids running around in sauna
The atmosphere, the quiet rooms, and the large bathtub.
Service Rooms need re-furbishing/renovation
Fabulous terrace looking out to the sea that gives a resort feeling. The personnel were all extremely friendly, efficient and helpful. A great beach hotel especially for a weekend get-away. Close to restaurants and shops if needed. It is not from my experience in todays standards a 5 star hotel, but certainly well above a 4 star. However for the price paid it is in line. Needs some modernising.
One of the three restaurants, Breakers, is right on the beach -- quite a nice experience! Also, the rooms are nicely furnished and the bed is a deligfht!
It's great to see a hotel of it's size and age keeping up service and standards. Great pool and the room service breakfast is exquisite. The car park is bit ugly.
Location and facilities No tea & coffe facilities in the room.
luxury hotel on the beach
Personal attention of staff / excellent bed/quietness furnishing and 'emptyness' of the floors
All staff, whether at reception, marketing, restaurants and bar, room service, housekeeping, cleaning staff, were professional, polite, cheerful and efficient. Room armchairs upholstery needs renewal or professional cleaning.
The sea nearby
The Spa and the friendly personnel
The breakfast was good , but a little expensive on top of the room rate... The AC was very noisy, but since we were having a room on the street side, it was even more noise to sleep with the window open.
Great sauna and pool facilities. Hotel staff not overly helpful regarding dinner recommendations or sights in and around the area.
Very luxurious hotel, gorgeous pool. Well situated. Friendly staff. Sunday nights, the pool is for bathing in the nude only.
the location directly to the beach and the flexibility of the staff.
Friendly staff. Good facilities. Night room service should be improved. Limited menu and food served cold.
Possibly one of the best hotels in the Netherlands - our stay was absolutely perfect! Staff is extremely helpful and ensures that clients are happy at all times. Spa, bars, restaurants and all other facilities are fantastic.
The position of the hotel is of course fantastic, right on the sea! The staff is pretty friendly even if some of them looks slightly arrogant... Three things were really not good: under the bed you could find everything! They did not clean at all there. Second the forniture looks old and very "kitsch". Last but not least the the room did not have any terrace and the window was too small and too high, so from the bed u could not sea anything else than the radiator!
Excellent, high standing hotel The eur 28 charge for the parking of one night!!!
Easy access to the beach and village f Noordwijk. Loading/Unloading did not went smooth. Breakfast is very expensive especially for young kids.
The beds, the cleaning the balcony and the seaside. expensive parking, not so nice staff, expensive breakfast
Excellent deck by the canal, perfect for a glass of wine any time of the day. Good and friendly staff. Very spacious rooms and bathrooms. Free parking. Expensive internet if you don't have your own provider.
Nice hotel, big comfi room and beds, guy on the desk was extra helpfull and friendly. Outside of the city, makes sense only if you have a car.Heating didnt work at night- was crazy cold in the room when we arrived-around 11 pm. And they switched it on in the morning only.
A lot of the hotel has been massively refurbishefd since I last stopped there and it certainly has made a big difference for the better. The reastaurant is nothing short of excellent. Clearly someone had been smoking in my room - housekeeping should take care of this prior to rooms being released to guests
no bar .coffee area
Proper size beds, even though a bit on the soft side. Nice, big, clean room & bathroom. Good breakfast. The reception staff a bit condescending, but they answered all the questions asked.
a comfortable and very pleasant hotel .I really appreciated welcome of staff and restaurant
We asked for a pot of tea to take to our room and was given a drty jug containing water and the cups were not very clean.
Super nice terrace, on a river.
The ease of touring the area from this location. Not having a mimi bar, since the bar was closed for condstruction
The staff were very helpful in giving advice about what to see and which places to visit. Although the hotel are refurbishing their dinning rooms, we found the temporary facilities more than adequate, but the dinner menu rather limited.
Location. Good size room. Comfortable bed.
Nothing special to comment It is by no means a 4 star hotel - 2 at best
The breakfast was good and plenty of choice Building works - noise and dust - no air conditioning
Car parking was ample and place easy to find. Rooms light and airy The photo on the website does not represent a building that looks like a monstrous 1960's toilet block. There is no warning of the significant construction and the noise that starts early in the morning. The barman uses his bare fingers to retrieve a piece of lemon from it's jar and when I asked him if he could use tongs, he just said "no". After that experience, we ate out and skipped breakfast the next day. Not going back.
For the moment of my stay it was reconstruction at the hotel. Very noisy.
The position of this hotel is excellent for visiting Den Haag and Amsterdam (by car). Efficient service at the reception desk. Not a 4 stars at all! At least the triple room were we stayed. They were worn/old furnitures in it. Also, the internet connection is expensive, too!
Huge rooms - with very easy access to the car park
Location of hotel is perfect for travelers come with car. Great breakfast. Not 4 stars at all! At least the room we stayed. They were worn/old furnitures in it.
close business area problem pre payment and locking up my debit card until I returned home
easy reach for towns To much cigarette smoke, No tea/coffee making facilities
very helpful staff, good car parking, and very nice modern bar. Vegtable soup (for a vegatarian!) contained meatballs !!!! - otherwise great food & good service... Lighting in rooms (the older block) is poor, seems to be energy saving, BUT lighting is dim and takes a while to 'warm up'
Staff were very friendly and welcoming We unexpectedly receiveda package when we returned to our room on the Saturday evening (our second night) including a voucher for free dinner for two in their restaurant. This was a lovely thought, but arrived too late in our stay to make use of it as we had already eaten on the Saturday evening before we received it and their restaurant isn't open on Sundays.
Hotel is in perfect location to the railway and the city center. Nice Restaurant / bar area , beautiful rooms, complete breakfast selection. room is very noisy , doors do not close very tight.
Convenience for business meetings in the Leiden area and efficiency of checking in and out, Beakfast seems expensive
The fact that you could open your window was brilliant! The bed was very comfortable and the staff were courteous. The location was great and the food in their restaurant was very nice. The cost of the internet was exorbitant. At 22 Euro per device was the most expensive we have ever paid. At breakfast the restaurant was full and there was not much left. I was surprised that they didn't replenish. We did get down there half an hour before it closed but other people arrived as well. We had to pay for a full breakfast when we really only had a continental! The eggs were cold and the bacon was very hard and in little bits. The staff were courteous but not helpful, they didn't clear our dishes which was messy and in the end I cleared them.
the brakfast menu was excellent, lots of choice and variety for every taste, very near the train and bus station ,also near the city, walking distance, near many beautiful parts of the city such as the wind mill and many canals.
The location near Leiden town centre The depressing and dreadful lighting in both the rooms and the public ares as the bulbs are of a low wattage
Cleanliness and pleasant staff
good location and attached to a 4-star hotel This was advertised as the 4-star Golden tulip Inn but was actually a room in the attached 3-star tulip Inn. The Tulip Inn had very few amenities and was a very basic room.
close to city center, breakfast The bathrooms are in nede of renovation, In my room the shower was broken and the sink stopper didn't work.
This was a chance booking because our usual hotel in the area was full: however, this hotel impressed and we shall certainly stay there again. The hotel is conveniently located (if a little loud at times due to traffic noise) and very comfortable. Breakfast was good (though specific items were not replenished from about 30 min before advertised end of the breakfast period) and the hotel restaurant was also good. The major plus for this hotel, though, is the excellent staff: very friendly and very helpful.
The location was very good and the room comfortable and clean That I had to pay 17 euros for 24 hours internet access. For this kind of hotel this should be complimentary
The shower was large with a good flow of water, the bathroom was modern, large, and clean, the bed was comfortable and clean, the desk was adequate for actually doing some work.
comfortable bed. double sink and 2 tvs. liked the atomosphere. expensive breakfast. no free wifi. spa facility is rather small side and no dry/changing space inside.
Really good rooms and service Price of the parking and the breakfast was very expensive
The staff were under pressure due to the large numbers of people in residence over the Easter holiday, but they coped really well with caring for everyone.
Ambience of the building 19.50€ for continental breakfast?
The room was comfortable
The staff was nice & helpful. The hotel was very clean, the breakfast buffet was good, our room was spacious & comfortable. They had the International Herald Tribune available to read every morning. It is a 5 minute walk at most to the beach. The hotel was quiet in the evening for sleeping. They had bicycles available to use for the day.
Very high comfort Noordwijk weather :-)
being in a 5 stat hotel for a very good price (value for money) he fact that it is very nicely located, near the beach
Friendly staff with impecable English, excellent (albeit expensive at 22 euro) breakfast. Bright and spacious feel. TV in bedroom was not flat screen and was fairly small.
Nice location next to the train station where you can buy breakfast for a far more reasonable price. Curtains didn't cover the windows, so I woke up the moment the sun rose. Hotel isn't finished yet.
Near to the train station. Clean room. Nothing else worthy to say here. No water heater, and no free drinking water provided. This hotel expects you buy everything from their bar.The room price is not expensive, but if count in the expense on breakfast and drink you need to buy here, which is usually included in room rate for other hotels, this hotel is not cheap at all. The locker of our room was not working, we waited half an hour and finally got some staff come to help... Very bad experience here. Will never come to this hotel again.
very noisy the morning from 7h00 with the chambermaids in the corridor!very old furnitures in the room, and bathroom needs to be renovated. do not have the quality features for a 4* hotel, needs to be renovated.
the turkish evening barman: he is really kind and enjoyable no minibar in the room no italian channel on the tv the waitresses of the breakfast: bothering you while eating to know your room number
Efficient , clean, good price to quality and gives a country -side feeling (animals in the morning) , close enough to city center, but far enought to have easy parkig and calm Internet is charged for ridiculosly high price (vs Bastion grp - free of charge)
good food noisey heating system
i requested an iron at c10.00pm and one was not available. this was annoying as i had a very early meeting the next day
Top hotel. Top restaurant. No tea/coffee making facilities in room.
Buffet breakfast fancy bathroom armatures. No tissues
The size, comfort and cleanliness of the room compared to the very competitve cost.
The hotel was inviting and cosy and offered a nice restaurant and bar. The rooms were large and comfortable and the decor made me feel I was in a hunting lodge. A little bit in the middle of nowhere. Difficult to get a taxi at the train station meaning we had to walk 20 min to get to the hotel. Next door to a property with some farm animals which meant being woken up from 5am by a cockerel.
The Hotel is well located for someone who wants to be in a green surrounding, not far away from the Hague or the beach. Really recommendable is a luch or dinner at the "Upstairs" restaurant. Nice terrace, inspired decoration, professional service, good food. One seems to be in another world, not really part of the hotel. Room decoration not very inspired but ok. The staff was fairly young and unexperienced and seemed to be overwhelmed by the crowds of people invading the place on that particular weekend. Neither the hotel, nor the staff were able to cope. I was told that it was an exceptional weekend. I had an aperitif on the downstairs terrace and the table was dirty, the waiter did not care to clean it and the terrace floor was full of garbage that had not been cleaned for some time. Not really what you expect from a 4 star rated hotel.
very friendly staff, great breakfast
The breakfast was very nice and the staff very friendly. The wireless internet works well The shower looks very cheap and not well maintain. There is not free car park in the hotel
breakfast there was too little water out of the shower
Lovely hotel in a convenient area to beach, bars and restaurants. lovely decor in lounge area/breakfast room, nice breakfast. all round a nice hotel for a romantic getaway,if it had coffee/tea making facilities in the room would give it 10/10 thank you hogerhuys
Friendly and helpful staff No
The range and quality of the food available for breakfast was excellent
Nice view from top-floor! Pleasant people.
The efficiency and friendliness of the staff
Breakfast was very nice. Parking is located 3min walk from the Hotel.
Location and quality of accomodation Not having any tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms
Restaurant description inaccurate. No choice - only one main course. Limited room service. Facilities marked down for these reasons.
Friendly staff, location of hotel. A beautiful and immaculate hotel. Breakfast excellent. Nothing. Would certainly recommend and stay there again.
Nice bar, including the chats with the barmen; excellent breakfast including a newspaper; very good location as well as for estec as for visiting the beach.
Convenient location A little noisy at night
Good breakfast; comfortable room (although withour air-conditioning will be hot in summer) I had telephone calls put through to my room with very bad grace by the person on the front desk in the evening! I should not be made to feel that I am imposing by receiving calls at the hotel - not for the price of the hotel - won't go back there for this reason!
The staff are very friendly and helpful and are keen to maintain a pleasant ambience. A very attractivr dining area. no
The hotel claims four stars, we got exactly that. Good and helpful (but not excellent stuff). The biggest selling point in this hotel is the access to the wellness center located nearby.
The cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in - everything looked brand new even though last renovation was 2 years ago Noise does travel between rooms a little, soundproofing would have been good.
a good quality hotel, with excellent quality of service from staff. Enjoyed the standard of both the hotel communal rooms, and the bedroom itself. Would definitely stay there again.
Good facility, close to the beach, have their own beach restaurant/cafe when weather permits, good breakfast, very competent and willing staff Though there is plenty of parking, it was in the back and we got no help with bags. The access to the front door is often blocked by cars. We'll know better next time.
Good value for money The food is very expensive so we were compelled to eat out
Ease and helpfulness of the staff N/A
Very helpful staff.
rooms were plenty big. all new. comfortable beds and seating. staff is very friendly and helpful. great breakfast. perfect location for me. quality provided exceeds cost. great value!!! one of the rooms smelled slightly of cigarette smoke. they offered to switch rooms.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was nice and modern but still had a homely feel. The location of the hotel means that once you are there its not easy to say go to a shop or to a different place to eat. There were no coffee or tea making facilities so had to resort to a vending machine to avoid paying a lot for room service.
the location is briljant. good value for money in terms of food, drinks and room clearly not catering for somebody who stays there for a week: no gym or pool or facility to quietly work as a businessman
My room was comfortable and clean. The staff were courteous and the food was of a good quality and well cooked.
Great area. right next to the bus stop to get you into the Hague in 5 minutes. Free parking!!!
Walking through the woods into Den Haag to explore the city or travel further afield. So easy from the Hotel all good
I had the worst welcomeing in my life. I had a recial abuse by receptionist and I did not get the room that i have booked even i called thme before 3 times to comfirm about our arrival. but the recetionist called manan she was very unhelpfull and she is not suitable for front office to serve guest.so I will write to you a complain letter and also to the hotel managment. I had my worst check in of my life and its so shame for that hotel to employ some one like her ..but I will do further complain if you can guid me where and how..
easy and quick to check in and out of the hotel there was no coffee/tea in the room
