Dog friendly, excellent location, good quality restaurant.
The staff were all very helpful and welcoming and the hotel was lovely. Our room was very clean and comfortable and their was an excellent full english breakfast in the morning. The restaurant was very nice and serverd wonderful Italian food. I would definitely go again.
The staff were friendly, attentive and made us feel welcome. The food served in the restaurant was of a high standard, and well presented.
Excellent room and friendly staff. Evening meal was very good. None, except some noisy children
It is a beautyful hotel with very friendly stuff. The dartmoor country side over the street is fantastic. We had a great stay.
No bar but you could get a drink at any time even when arriving back at the hotel after midnight :-)
The hotel is very conveniently situated for the moors and within 15 minutes walk from the Lydford Gorge. The room was a good size, clean and very modern. The attached Italian restaurant is excellent. none
Ambiance, excellent caring staff, superb service, excellent resturant. Room wonderfully presented. As good or possibly better than 4* hotels I have used for work. Cant think of any
Peaceful location, good room with excellent bathroom. Friendly, helpful staff. Would have been good to have some good quality bread at breakfast, no sign of any brown bread or even better brown baker style bread.
Hotel is very traditional, with an unexpectedly good Italian chef and restaurant. Some of the paintwork in the public areas is a bit tired.
Peaceful, friendly staff, good breakfast Room a little on the small side, bar and breakfast area a little spartan
Extremely friendly and helpful staff, very good value for money and a lovely breakfast!
The room smelled musty/damp. There was a strong smell of cigarettes in both reception and the breakfast room. I think the staff smoke.
We were made welcome from the start, especially our dog. Nothing was too much trouble.
Friendly and helpful staff Nothing
Staff were friendly, food excellent, room comfortable
This was our second stay at Fairway. The room was spacious, clean and plenty of hot water for the shower. The staff were friendly and helpful.A good breakfast was provided each morning.
Outstanding! Accommodation was first rate, hospitality of owners was exceptional. The breakfast was the best we've had in England. The room was clean, comfortable and very pleasant.
Walking It was a bit distant rom the nearest civilisation. Resulting in having to drive everywhere.
lovely old country house, comfortable, warm and welcoming. Lovely gardens though weather prevented exploration!
Wonderful hotel rooms very clean food extreamly good and the staff very friendly and helpful, delightful setting and very quiet. We would certainly visit this hotel again. No bad points only slight problem setting the shower but its a very old building and this would not stop us making a return visit any way it adds to the charm.
The staff were amazing and the food was incredible. Will visit again for sure. N/A
Very friendly people. Clean hotel with very good facilities. Breakfast was very good with good choices
Comfortable bed.Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Good parking. Easy to reach from A30.Attractive grounds around hotel.
The Hotel was very comfortable and relaxing, the owners were very friendly and the bedroom was well equiped and clean
Area and outlook The smoking facility did not exist, very misleading on booking form
Walking and exploring the area however the staff were so genial and the food so good we ate in each evening. Really splending time.
It was very quite they had a comfortable bar and lounge area where you could have a quiet drink in peace. The hotel itself was fine, but we were greeted by a lady who was quite rude and abrupt with us, as we had unwittingly arrived 40 minutes early in fact we felt quite unwelcome had we not booked on the internet we would have looked for another hotel to book into. The rest of the staff were fine and very polite,
The hotel is a delightful old building set in beautiful gardens. I arrived late the first night and was made very welcome. The food on the second night was very nice and 3 real ales on offer in bottles was a treat. Why don't other hotels do this? I would recommend the local Jail Ale. suggestion for improvement. Have a word with a local plumber to see if the cold water tank can be raised to increase the head or a pump fitted to improve the flow of hot water to the shower.
Beautiful location and exceptionally quiet country retreat. Charming building & excellent service from all the staff. We also enjoyed the tour of the hotel's vegetable garden by the Head Gardener, who is a great credit to this special hotel. The bedroom furnishings and bathroom are starting to look tired in places. The breakfast lacked a "wow" factor. However, neither of these disappointments spoilt a great stay. Thank you to all the team.
Convenience for my meetings in the area. N/A
easy going atmosphere
Hospitality and location. Meal service was slow and eggs for breakfast were too salty.
Everything, it was a lovely experience. The staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating and the location a delight with Dartmoor on the doorstep. Fabulous. No
Traditional pub/inn no frills but ok food and large rooms
Comfortable well-appointed room upstairs and wholesome food and ales downstairs. The perfect end point after a walk across the moors.
Food was excellent, location for Lydford Gorge was perfect. Long wait for delivery of food (however it was a Saturday night and a large party was in)
Friendly staff, good home cooked food.
Good attentive staff. Flies in restaurant . Possibly hazardous steps down to bathroom. Non working shower.
My room had some sort of generator/AC unit outside the window which was on until 5am. Worst nights sleep in a hotel for a very long time...
