The friendly and helpful reception staff. The room was large and comfortable. No
Great breakfast! Alarm went off in the middle of the night!
the location, it was near City Center Way too expensive for the size of the room.
I liked the quiet rooms, the availability of coffee in your breakfast room at odd times, and the helpful, pleasant staff at the desk--especially the latter. Is your information clear on whether you provide a light supper on week days? I didn't use this service, but I thought I read about it somewhere and told it to someone who was staying with you longer. If you do provide this service, it could be easier to learn about. Also, I had sent the DNT the list of roommates for my group of 10 people, and that list was not followed exactly. DNT's fault?
Our room was upgraded. The location in very center, but quiet
Excellent location, rooms spacious and modern. Breakfast was also great!!
Location (close to Central Station / possible to reach crossing the shopping mall in front) / Modern room / computer available at reception / good breakfast Bathroom needs restoration (bathtube leaks)
The hotel staff was extremely nice and did their best to answer questions. The room was strange. The main bed was ridiculously soft and the fold out bed was not a proper bed at all. It was too short and did not fold out flat. The legs under the sofa bed were broken and so they splayed out when you sat on it. There was only one chair to sit on in a room meant for four people and big dust bunnies underneath the sofa bed which we discovered when we were trying to make a proper place to sit. The toilet paper was mounted on the wall in such a way as to recieve a straight shot from the shower when it was turned on so we had to remove the toilet paper from the holder to keep it dry. The toilet seat was put on wrong so the lid kept falling off. The wood floors were so slippery that all of us almost fell several times
friendly, clean fine room, tasty breakfast with good coffee (!), superb location for tourist, too noisy at street side
Really clean, modern finish. Having warned them there were vegans in our party it would have been nice if they had at least had some soya milk in the kitchen.
the location of the hotel is very good...Besides we had a room at the back so we were not disturbed by any noise.... We arrived at the hotel quite late and paid for the room straight away...When we arrived in the room, it was actually set up for one person, so we had to go down again to the reception and were given an extra duvet...Basically we had to make our own bed at 23.00!!! And we realised the following morning that we only had one towel too, which was very practical... After half an hour we were in the hotel, I remembered that the receptionnist hadn't given me a receipt when I paid for the room...So I went downstairs and asked for it but he could barely remember I had already paid!!! We stayed at a Thon hotel in Bergen and Trondheim too ( and they were very good!) but the Thon Cecil Oslo was by far the most expensive and it was a real disappointment...I hope this was just bad luck...
The staff was very friendly, and made me feel very comfortable, but I did not stay long enough to appreciate all the services the hotel would offer.
The hotel was a brisk 30-min walk from the station but we liked that we could walk through the city streets to get there. The breakfast was fantastic: full of variety and plenty of it. Staff were friendly and efficient. The room was quite small but beautifully furnished and the bed was very comfortable. Would have loved tea-making facilities in the room - but we know this is a British thing!
It's location The beds were on wheels and on a wooden floor, amazing how much they would role around. The room was too small and in general for the price charged I don't think it was worth it. I aslo didn't like that fact that they charged me 6 KR for printing out a boarding card when my total bill was over 6.000 KR. It just doesn't look right in terms of customer service. It's cheap.
My room was small but cheerful, comfortable, quiet and clean. The carpet was looking a little old, but the hotel had a grand feel, especially given its price. The breakfast was very nice.
personel were friendly and helpful the bed was tiny. the chair needed to be replaced. the heater didn't work so they had to bring in a supplemental heater. it was really too expensive for the smallness of the room. the t.v. wasn't particularly modern, but I don't watch t.v.
Location and atmosphere Low value for money
Very clean and welcoming. Great restaurant.
Very friendly, helpful staff. Excellent location. On the bus line, 5 minutes from National Theatre metro stop and connections to airport. Quiet, upscale neighborhood. Short walk to palace, university, and Ibsen museum.
Nice hotel for a good price in a nice and quiet part with a very complete breakfast!
Nice breakfastroom Carpets on the floors in a brand new hotel, cannot see why. Farther to walk from the airport than said in the discription.
Awesome breakfast buffet included
Closeness to the airport. Good restaurant. Sound attenuation
restaurant was incredible! (buffet). Very friend;y and helpful staff. Excellent proximity to the airport (it's practically IN the airport). Very clean, nice rooms. Wonderful sitting nook in the room. Great showers. my room had 2 twin beds, which was odd for a US traveler, but maybe norm for the area?
Price. The distance to the hotel from the airport terminan exit/entrance was much longer than indicated on web page.
Location at the close proximity to the Oslo airport, but at the same time within 19 minutes using Flytoget train allows to reach the Oslo city Relatively low-budget design of the hotel room, no hair conditioner or body lotion in an ordinary toilet, however the lobby is nicely designed.
I was given the accomodation exactly what I requested. The staff was very efficient and friendly. Location is perfect for an overnight stay.
Convenient to airport, clean The shower- there was no real door or curtain, and the shower was just a part of the bathroom, so the bathroom floor got soaked when showering.
I like the kindness of the staff, and their ability to answer questions, also to solve some problems. they were very friendly. it was dirty with chips under the beds, and i would prefer some double bed instead of single beds. They were not the most comfortable bed i ever had in hotels. also, they are a bit short for me, i'm 1m88.
close to the Aker Brygge area of the city no
Friendly helpful staff, good location, excellent breakfast and comfortable room (superior).
Comfortable with pleasant staff and accessible to city centre
Very friendly & kind staff at checkin & indeed at checkout. A very good breakfast. My room was ver noisey, facing the roasd where trams were going by regularly. No air conditioning meant that it was quite uncomfortable.
The hotel is quietly located, although very central. Liked the lay-out and functioning of the breakfast buffet. Not the usual busy feel, tables placed comfortably away.
Being close to the Design Store Building and other shopping areas by the wharf. The hotel staff was unhelpful in almost every respect.
Super location, centrally located but quiet. Very clean. Helpful staff and wonderful breakfast. No
The breakfast, and the location The room was full of dust. Too expensive.
All in one was pretty much ok, except the fact that the bathroom was not cleaned and i had to say that to the staff 2 times in order to get it clean
Spacious rooms, all facilities, including kettle. when I arrived, my room was not ready - towels and bedlinen were on the floor and I had to go to the reception for another key.
Stylish modern hotel. Near Oslo airport in woodland surroundings. Few nearby facilities but the hotel provides everything necessary for the transit passenger. Ideal conference venue.
Friendly, competent staff. Everything is very professional. They went out of their way to be helpful in every way. The food was a truly gourmet experience.
Buffet breakfast was good if you're up early before it's eaten It's a good 50 minutes drive from Oslo at the max speed limit and not 20 minutes as advertised. Hotel lacks soul.
Water is draining on the floor in bathroom (under the shower cabin door) during taking a shower.
It is a well designed and rooms are comfortable It is unfortunate that it is so far away from the airport...
We were exhausted - shower and comfy bed!!
Closeness to the airport Lack of early breakfast arrangements for an airport hotel. Over-priced restaurant. Over-priced bus from airport, I would expect a free courtessy bus for this sort of hoptel.
Very convient and and comfortable but very expensive shuttle Shuttle cost
We liked the layout of the place, and everything looked new and clean. It took a while to get there from the airport, but that can't be helped. It didn't seem to promote itself as a family hotel, though when we got there, it was very up-front about that. This is great for families (though it would be very helpful to know in advance)
Not expensive, in the city center and near the central station. It was easy to get from the hotel to the airport at night. it was not enough light in the room, in my opinion.
proximity to central rail station noise from street side room
Clean, quiet and close to public transport. Shower was tiny, like you might find on an overnight train's ensuite. Area is not terrible, but a little unsafe feeling, unlike other areas of the city.
Was allover a pleasent experience, friendly staff, clean and nice room.
The staff are helpful. The hotel is clean. There's no kettle in the room but coffee and tea at the lounge is complimentary. The breakfast is super-value. Conveniently located (very near to the central railway station). There is no kettle in the room.
The location of the hotel was good, near the main railway station Oslo S. There was also free wireless internet available in the rooms. During my stay (4 nights), on three occations in the morning the breakfast room was so full that I had to wait around 15 minutes before getting a table. One morning I didn't have time to wait and had to get a sandwitch from a shop opposite the hotel. Another morning a big group had conquered half of the breakfast room for some sort of seminar.
Well situated, not far from attractions and no disturbance. Good for business Should be more then one public computer
Excellent facilities in a convenient location for a reasonable price.
If you are going to pay with cash, you have to pay 200NKK more. This will be return to you when you check-out. But the location is good. It would be more nicer if the price was included breakfast.
The location is excellent: five minutes walking from the railway station and very close to shopping centres and lots of restaurants and pubs. The hotel room was really modern designed and large. The hotel staff at the reception was not very talkative. The bathroom in the room was quite small and particularly the shower was at the same level of the floor.
The hotel is good location. Very good price for the value. It is not suitable for friends to share the rooms. Because the bathroom has glass windows where you can see directly through! Also they messed up our rates. I booked 2 standard double rooms, 1 for 2 people 1 for 1 person. The room for 1 person has cheaper rate. They gave us a single room for the 1 person and wanted to charge double room's rate!
rooms are a bit small
Room comfort Maybe reception staff came across as a bit curt
Breakfast was fresh and good and served in a nice room. Free hot drinks 24h. Free Internet point and printer. The room was not properly clean. Noise coming from the courtyard (air conditioning equipment?)
Liked the room for its design, also great breakfast and free coffee, tea and apples at the reception
Easy access to public transport - trams outside the door and T-bahn a few hundred metres away. We had asked for twin beds. We did not notice we had been given a double bed (with two duvets) until we had unpacked and to move then to another room would have been too tiresome. Twin beds means twin beds.
the breakfast was very good, the position good the noice of conditioners
This Hotel is located in a very pleasant street, lot of shop's, easy access to public transportation. The design of this hotel is up to date in a Scandinavian style. The lock of my door seems damaged and I'm not sure it was very efficient... No safety box in rooms.
Very clean comfortable and friendly
clean, good breakfast, slept well the receptionist could not even explain properly where the hotel was located. I was already in bogstadveien, and she made me turn twice because she didn't know where I was, even though I was naming all the names of the stores.
Staff very friendly
I received a warm welcome from real people who seemed interested in being professional and looking after me rather than, I so often find these days, people who have learned all the words of welcome but are not able to convey that feeling. Very nice - thank you A more comprehensive food offer for example a lunch menu.
Location was good for getting in and out of Oslo.Nearto train ,tram and bus .Breakfast was very good. Restaurant and bar do not open Friday Saturday and Sunday nights.
To be honest, just the breakfast buffet was good. The first room I was given to did not have an operating panel for the key card. I was not able to turn on the light. Opposite of the hotel there was a construction site, so I did not have to worry of oversleeping because the pneumatic-hammer was doing this job at 07.00 am. The whole room was shabbily. The floor, the bathroom, the locker was dusty, this pricey "hotel" was a nightmare. I did take a lot of pictures. I can mail them if you like. The hotel staff was cockily: I asked why my room was not cleaned up at 08.00 pm and the man answered "I don' t know, it is not my job ". I did not asked him to clean up or whose job it was but his statement was typical to complete my impression about this run-down sleazy hotel.
Nice location out of the center. Easy walk to Frogner and other charming neighborhoods, and good public transport to the city. Comfortable, well designed room. Nice breakfast. Expensive parking, but maybe that's the case everywhere in Oslo.
Very nice experience. People are nice and treat us friendly. The location is very good.
breakfast was ok, helpfull staff room was rather small and interior looked very "cheap"
The wery soft and comfortable beds.
It offers reasonable price and is located next to the tram station. I booked the double room, however, they gave me the twin room instead. Let's imagine how uncomfortable with two separated beds put together which they always tends to separate, and with two small blankets for a couple. I don't like the receptionist answer as well: "The double room here is like that"
The staff were very friendly and the location was good. It was very difficult to find and no one seemed to know the street it was on. It would be much simpler if the website simply told people to get the tram 17 or 18 from Oslo city centre and get off at the last stop.
Hotel's breakfast had more variety than most. Good transportation to city centre. Good price compared to other similar hotels. Reasonable priced parking nearby. We knew the hotel is near a hospital but we were somewhat surprised to find the hotel in the middle of the hospital.
I dont think this is a place to spend once vacation. I was very surprised that the hotel is located in an hospitel, I don't want to spend my vacation this way, we left after one night. You should make known the spechel location of the hotel so one can choose.
Well, it's a quite decent hotel. Very good breakfast, modern rooms. Just near the final stop of trams 17 and 18 (Rikshospitalitet). Very polite and helpful personnel. There is an elevator and air-conditioners. Of course, it could be less expensive. About 80 euros per night - it's a lot. Yes, it's Norway, but still. But anyway, I would recommend this hotel.
The hotel was perfectly clean like in a hospital! Staff was very helpful!
Clean, rooms are ok, breakfast too. Rooms do have air-con. senior and disabled-friendly hotel! Free internet only in the lobby - not available in the rooms (2nd floor). Parking only possible at public parking lot (130NOK per night).
Nice attitude, possibility to drink coffee when ever I want to do this, silence Internet access was not able in rooms, only near to reception. Floor not always in my room was cleen. Very small bathroom.
I liked to be located in a quite area of Oslo. I did not like the distance to reach the center. It is a bit far away in that matter. There is not problems using the Tram as it stop just at the hotel which is really easy and practical but there is not so early public transport from there to the center on weekends if you plan to reach the center very early.
I liked the comfort of the bed and the fact we had our own bathroom. Also the breakfast was good. There was no possibility to use a computer, although it was in the advertisement on the webpage. We wanted to use internet, but you had to bring your own computer and we did not have our own.
I liked that it takes just ca 10 min by subway to reach city centre, villa surroundings were also very pleasant. It is a hospital hotel so you can see there people that are following some kind of treatment or are recovering from surgeries.
quitness It is an Hospital,
Friendliness of staff! In particular, the young lady working in the kitchen made sure I had something to eat since I arrived just after the kitchen closed. It is associated with the Radium Hospital . . . perfect for business at the Radium. Isolated from city activities.
friendliness and helpfulness of staff despite best efforts of all concerned, could not get TV to work !!!!
Very clean hotel, good value for money Even if it's out of the city, there was no free car park. I had to pay a private garage reasonable price 130NOK)
Ease of transport into town Check out took too long, only one person on the desk at 8am
It was outside of the city of Oslo, which means that you ought to have a car or a taxi for your transportion.
very frendly personel
Very kind and helpful staff and free internet service lack of information about public transports, too small showeroom with basin beside bed. *. There is difficulty to find the hotel from the underground station (T-bane) because of no sign post. And there is no information about the nearby station in the hotel website.
It's a new hotel and a lcd tv. 60 bus just outside to the city centre. Or using the underground to Linderud(Vestlibanen). Then to walk 10 minutes. Good breakfast(fried egg/boiled egg) and tables with white table cloths. Floor carpets on stairs and in the rooms. A modern glass washer in the room and shower in the room as well. A good chair. Phone. Quiet district was the reason why I choosed this hotel.
Very nice rooms. Free wireless internet. Excellent breakfast. The hotel was difficult to find, located in a residential area of run-down apartments.
The hotel was clean and staff were friendly. It is a little way out of the city centre but great if you are arriving late and just need a place to get a few hours sleep.
excellent comfort - excellent breakfast
free parking, wireless Internet, good situation
Good food, room service, quiet location Lack of knowledge of some staff of the Oslo and foreigners duty - like paying toll
it is in the centrum of Oslo
Location(distanc from station). Price. Hotel Manager was a very nice lady. A cafe downstairs (offers veriety of food & remains open till late night). It is a hostel not a hotel. Shared bathrooms. Worst place (hotel) I have ever stayed in:)
Excelent cooking facilities. Very central to trains and the centre so no need for expensive taxis
The staff were helpful and there was an interesting international group of residents. it was also good value for money The worst feature was the totally inadequate washing facilities. The wash room on my floor was a converted kitchen without a door. It didnt have a mirror so shaving was difficult. The communal shower room was three floors below my floor. This is more a youth hostel than a hotel.
In short words this accommodation is backpackers hostel and nothing else. In hotel star classification this was zero star hotel, but this is a hostel with a lot of young people from all around of world. Rooms are very worn-out and with used simple furniture. Necessary repairs are done anyhow and for example in one shared toilet there was only cavity where basin had been in someday. Location of this hostel is excellent in middle off all. Hotel staff were very frienly and spoke good english. Overall if you like become familiar with young people around of world then this is for you. If you are finding more sophisticate accommodation then you have to check some other places.
location near train station and bus stop room too far from toilette, no water in room
Please write at least 15 words
It's housed in a beautiful old building, and there is a nice breakfast/lunch/dinner-place below. We had a two-person room, with two beds, one of them even big enough to act as a double.
