The Hermosa was absolutely delightful! The location is actually close to everything but it feels quiet and secluded. The staff bends over backward to make you feel at home. No, I liked everything about the Hermosa.

The Inn was in a lovely setting with beautiful gardens. It was such a relaxing atmosphere. The rooms were charming and the bed was amazingly comfortable. Staff were extremely accommodating. The warm cookies and flavored water were a lovely treat.

This small boutique hotel was everything my fiance and I could have wanted during our stay in Phoenix. We have some old friends who live in Scottsdale and we wanted to stay away from the crowds at the larger convention hotels like the Phoenician, Royal Palms and Arizona Biltmore but yet be close to our friends. We got lucky with a fabulous room and had the best meal we have had in ages at their restaurant, LON's. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys luxury with peace and quiet.
The silence, serenity, birds chirping, art work in the grounds, lack of crowds, live music at night, easy to navigate around grounds in a minute between pool and room. Fantastic. Nothing.
The hotel offers a beautiful setting with wonderful gardens and sculpures. It's quiet and besides your own personal patio to sit in, there are many more places to enjoy in the gardens. We loved the resturant, Lons. The food was outstanding,so convienent. The bathrooms need to be updated. It was hard to adjust the water temperature and the tub was slippery. Air conditioning is loud, luckly it was cool enough at night that it didn't come on all the time.

Food was adequate. Really enjoyed the pool all day Saturday, with the sunburn to prove it. I purchased a rate for a room that offered 1 king or 2 queens, seeing as I was staying the night with my friend and my girlfriend we were going to need 2 queen beds, I was never prompt to choose between the two options so I assumed we would sort the matter out at the front desk. I checked in with both my guest present with me, even put their names on it for 3 room keys. At this point obviously I was under the impression the woman behind the counter would think "oh maybe he needs 2 queens" not the case, we received the king bed but only found out after we had made our way to the 7th floor. After all is said and done we get downgraded to fit our accommodations, promised a refund for the difference over the phone from the room once we received our room keys the woman at the front desk had no awareness of our situation and did not refund me anything. Hardly apologized for the inconvenience, blamed the woman over the phone for being new so that they didn't have to offer a refund. No carry-in policy? Never saw a sign for that, pretty sure everyone and their grandmother bring alcohol from home? I brought my beverage to the casino floor and needed it to be popped open so I asked the bartender for a bar keep and he "confiscated" my drink from me due to their no carry-in rule. Unbelievable.
Room design is great! Room is very comfortable. Fort Knox ... the process for getting into the pool was ridiculous. 4 stages of security... worse than TSA
My room had a fabulous view and was very clean besides the two huge bugs that were flying around next to the bedside lamp. The check in process was a headache. They gave terrible directions from the check in counter to the elevator and I had to ask several employees where and how to get to my room. Not to mention I was on the 13th floor and the elevator didn't even have a button for "13", so again I had to go down to the 1st level and ask the security person at the hotel entry. The valet guys left a lot to be desired too.
Loved everything about my stay except the spa. I received 2 services at the spa which were stellar and the service providers equally fantastic. The front desk staff and attendant however, were in a rush to close over a half hour so they closed parts of the spa facilities early and wouldn't accommodate a later appointment time. There are MANY spas to choose from in Scottsdale and this used to be one of my favorites.
We loved our room being upgraded, The balcony was awesome! Great view, Good staff. The facility was beautiful and very clean. Only 1 chair, 1 robe, 1 slippers, and one soap even though there were 2 of us. Would be better for me as a first timer to have had better instructions from the check in counter on everything from what we can and can't take to our room to how to work the heater.
The smoking- the young people and lack of good restaurants
Our girls weekend was horrible. First it was 50.00$ to get into the pool with 2,000 other people. So we had to find another resort to relax at. And then our plumbing went out and was not accommodated until we called and complained. We were told to use the bathroom in the casino and we had no place to shower. The only bright spot was the front desk manager upon check out who was completely embarrassed about how we were treated.
The entire facility was very clean, very nice staff, the text messaging for room status was great especially since I was messaging a real person and not a computer The price was a little high but that could have been because of the near holiday weekend
This was a great location for our AZ getaway. We loved the amenities, enjoying several of the restaurants on location, every pool and hot tub option, and really loved the gym with a view. While we knew there would be smoking on the casino level, since neither of us smoke, the fact that the entire floor, including the check in desk, reeked of smoke, was offensive. I think the resort would be better if the check in area was relocated away from the stench of smoke.
The rooms were nice, beds comfy, and food was good. The pool and facilities were clean and well kept. The noise was outrageous. Me and my girlfriend went to get away from the kids and have a relaxing "staycation." People were partying so loudly on our floor we could feel the base coming from the music in their room. Alerted hotel staff multiple times regarding this issue and it was not taken care off. We were also promised a call back from the security manager and never received one. The music and yelling lasted until about 3 am (our first complaint was about 1030pm.) will never stay hear again due to the lack of concern by staff regarding the problem we encountered.
We loved our comfortable room. We loved the waterpark. We loved being able to check in a little early. We didn't love not being able to bring a few snacks into the waterpark. They make sure you have to buy them there.
We went for the water park & got more than we expected for the holiday with extended hours & activities for the children. For an additional amount we could check out later & enjoy the park more. Staff were very courteous. No microwave
We really enjoyed the Oasis Water Park they had different events going on which made it super fun for the kids. The room was clean, great location close to shops restaurants and more. Plenty of things to do at resort.
The water park is so fun ! There are so many fun things to do there the water slides are awesome! The beds are super comfy too!! There's a resort fee that should just be included in the price but it's for a good reason and the room service is a bit high .
As always the Weather during Spring Break is wonderful. The general layout of the resort is wonderful. This is my 3rd trip here since 2009 and we want to make it a annual thing for myself and my kids, This trip we experienced a lot of horrible service, missed room services, not being attended to while at one of their restaurants. the exception was the last night we were there. I spent $5000 over a course of 6 nights we stayed..I would expect way better service when ones pays this much. Im considering not coming back due to the service not matching the price I paid. I also feel the resort could use a bit of updating and repair. Eep in the room when we had burnout light bulbs and once again they were never replaced on our stay.
Enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere... we celebrated our first year anniversary here and the staff was very courteous that we had an upgrade on our room and a bottle of wine given to us for free at your arrival! Excellent location! Restaurant had good quality food just a little overpriced.
This isn't a very romantic resort. Too many places for families and not enough places for romance DO NOT LIKE THE EXTRA CHARGE AT THE DESK OF $49 FOR WHATEVER. I WAS CHARGED AN ADDITIONAL $110 WHICH $55 IS REIMBRUSED AFTER SO MUCH TIME. CHARGE WHAT YOU WILL AND LEAVE IT AT THAT. WE COME FOR THE SLIDES & LAZY RIVER LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. BUSINESS MAYBE DIFFERENT.
The waterpark was supposed to open on February 18th per the website and a phone call to the hotel - so we booked from February 20th to 24th. What they failed to inform us was that the Waterpark was only open the weekend before and the weekend afterwards. When we arrived on the Monday the person who greeted us and showed us to our room talked about the Waterpark being great and only later did we find out it was closed. We got 2 nights of the facility fee refunded, however the other 2 nights were not refunded and we chose this hotel especially because of the waterpark. Very disappointing.
Comfortable suites with good beds; lush vegetation; wonderful little swimming pool right across from our suite; restaurant patio dining; a great water park for kids; good gift shop. Furniture somewhat dated; very small bathroom; stained carpet in living room (except for that, the suite was very clean).

Staff.Staff and Staff is the resorts strength... Luz was great; fast and friendly. She got us checked in and on our way quickly with limited swim time available......that was important. Dan escorted us to our room and set us up quick and easy. Room service was awesome Resort fee seems over the top considering daily rate being charged

The setting at the base of Camelback Mt in Scottsdale was breathtaking. Every staff member was extremely courteous and professional. The highlight was sitting outside each night by a fire pit overlooking the property and all of Phoenix. The other highlight was in teh lobby bar, they have a trumpet jass singer named Jerry McGuire who was a combination of Chri Botti and George Benson....amazing that added to the sexy ambiance of the hotel, bar and outdoor patio. Not a thing that I didn't like!

The food here is amazing. All the food in old town was amazing as well. We ate at the pool two days and it was gormet delishious! We also ate breakfast in the resturant down stairs and it was also fantastic. Pricey but very good. Hotel is beautiful when you walk in and is a really nice place to stay but is very dated. The pool and the rooms need updated to make this hotel worth the money.

Women wearing skimpy bikinis in the lobby and elevators with no coverups - Such a DISAPPOINTMENT from six years ago when this resort was the utimate getaway!!

Nice pool and gym. Great drinks at the hotel bar. Beautiful hotel. They seemed to be incredibly short staffed in terms of housekeeping. On our first night, our room wasn't ready for check-in at 6:30pm -- 2.5 hours after the hotel's check-in time of 4pm. It seemed like it would work out in our favor because we got a room upgrade since our assigned room wasn't ready. But then on our second day our room wasn't cleaned until 4:30pm and on our third day, they didn't clean the room at all -- and we were out of the room from 10am until 9pm! When we called the front desk, they offered to send someone to clean the room, but it took 40 minutes for someone to show up.

Mountain biking and guide (Chip) were excellent. Wright's was outstanding dining all around. Food, service, presentation, ambiance, price. If the entire resort were run like Wrights, this would be a five star resort. Spa services, attendants were great. Megan O. at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The lobby is beautiful. A Maintanence engineering employee whose name I did not get. The bicycle room service provided a bit of whimsy and were a delight to watch them ride through the resort. The swim up bar is a nice touch, but perhaps should not be immediately next to the kids water slide. Was billed as a five star resort when I booked it. Don't get me wrong, this is a nice place with a lot of history. However, a five star resort implies attention to little details that separate you from other resorts. Those little details were missing. While I understand the main entrance is under renovation, the concrete blocks holding down the umbrellas for the valets looked cheap and haphazard. Not a good first impression. Upon arrival, no one offered to help with my bags, merely pointing me to the direction of the temporary main entrance. At that entrance, there is a small lip in the doorway, making it difficult to maneuver a roller bag. While the front desk did ask if I needed assistance with my bags, no bellhops were around if I did, and given the room location, they should have been more readily available, as my room in the garden wing is on the second floor accessible only by stairs. Upon check-in, I searched for ice (which with a bellhop could have been a non-issue at least for the first day). I could not locate the ice machine, or anything in the in-room literature to direct me. I found a housekeeper and asked her. She did not seem to know either. A maintenance engineering department employee coming out of a guest room overhead the conversation and immediately led me to the nearest ice machine himself. Unfortunately it was broken. Not only that, there was a bus cart full of dirty dishes stowed in front of it. Again, this is the kind of little detail a five-star resort takes care of. The ice machine in the adjacent paradise wing seemed more designed for "back of the house" rather than for a guest to be accessing it. Service at Frank and Albert's was very nonchalant. It did not seem as is they cared if we stayed to eat or not, or enjoyed our meal. Everything seemed to be under construction at once, causing noise throughout the day, from early in the morning until afternoon. When I asked about this, several, employees' response was "well, it's the slow season...." as if I should have lower expectations because it's August. Again, a little detail a five-star resort should nail. Guests should not notice a difference in staff attention regardless of "season." A few other "little details": In the lobby bar, the cords for the TVs and speakers were haphazardly hanging, not neatly along the wall. There was visible water damage on one of the corner speakers. A large cobweb was hanging in the corner and blowing with the AC. There were several areas where grout or paint had dripped onto the pressed concrete blocks from recent renovations but were left there, not removed. The pool desk was open and appeared to be staffed, but was unmanned for five minutes, leading me to walk behind the desk to help myself to clean towels as no one was around. Ultimately, we cut our stay a day short and moved to a different area five star resort, where we did not experience any negative issues.
My room was nicely renovated but bathroom much to small. The shower when in use would soak the bathroom floor. The property is getting tired looking, time for a face lift. I returned after 10 years and was disappointed to find gym still to small, spa uninspiring, exercise studio and bike/tennis area a throw back to 1980. I would return to the front portico each morning from a long run and was never greeted by bell staff or offered bottled water as i stood there recovering from the run and sweating from the desert heat. I have become so accustomed to being greeted by staff with bottled water and towel upon returning from jogging at all great hotels that i really resented having to ask for it. The main lobby is beautiful and I enjoyed evening cocktails on the patio adjacent to the lobby. The bar staff was lovely. Lunch and breakfast in Frank and Albert's was painful to endure. Breakfast was so delayed with mistakes to the order and lunch was mediocre. The cafe also disappointed. One meal at each was one too many. Best meals were all off property. My daughter and I walked thru the shops and found once again we were back in the 80's. We love to shop so it was hard to believe there was almost next to nothing to buy. Housekeeping was a bit lacking of management, it seemed. Dirty dessert dishes lingered in my room for two days. The Scottsdale - Phoenix area has so many fabulous resorts, it's to bad The Biltmore doesn't seem to be one of them anymore.
We celebrated our anniversary and were upgraded to a beautiful suite, and the front desk staff sent a beverage, chocolates and fruit to our room when they learned. Loved the room, the grounds are amazing and enjoyed the amazing amenities. We're planning to return every year.

Beautiful setting. Very attentive and polite staff throughout the hotel - valet, front desk, restaurant staff/servers, housekeeping - everyone was great. The people make a huge difference in creating a pleasant guest experience, and they were all very nice and accommodating. The room was very nice, and we really liked the large bathroom, kitchenette, and desk/office space.

The wonderful friendly staff made this resort really stand out! Grandpa Frank in the Prado was the best. What nice people and a beautiful resort. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. We stayed three days and I didn't want to leave! I looked for movie channels or movies on demand on the television but none were available.
The views of Camelback mountain were incredible. The staff were the most friendly and helpful staff I have ever come in contact with. I especially enjoyed the walk out patios on the first floor. The layout of the bathroom in the our room was so large and luxurious. I highly would recommend The Montelucia to anyone visiting Paradise Valley.
The grounds are beautiful, the staff is very friendly and the amenities are all fantastic. They really did think of everything when they made this hotel. We wanted to have a relaxing weekend and that's what we had. Can't stress enough how the staff does any amazing job of making sure you are well taken care of. The only issue we had was that we wanted to take a bath in our room and the water was not hot at all.
I don't usually right reviews, but I felt compelled to recommend our experience. We were in awe of the hotel from the moment we arrived. Marissa and Michael at the front desk were professional, engaged and most important they were personal. Hotel grounds are reminiscent of Tuscany with lots of stone and massive wooden gates/entryway. The room exceeded our expectation of cleanliness and style. The onsite restaurant was also delicious. We decided to stay after my wife shot a wedding on sight and vowed to be back. We will return in the near future.
Location is good, restaurants and pool is good, atmosphere is nice, staff are friendly, has good amenities. Fridge didn't work, had expired juices and a bad smell, no space for your own groceries / wine ( one of those sensor fridges). Toilet chain broke twice. Notified front desk, gave us a $50 credit and apologized. Overall handled it well. Despite the negatives, still a good place however would not return and prefer another location over this one.
Breakfast. $10 voucher for the in-house restaurant. Rooms & beds were clean and sharp. I booked a Sunday night stay. Apparently they were all-booked for the night before, and after I arrived 30 minutes before normal check in time on Sunday, and they couldn't accommodate me for those 30 minutes and made me wait until the normal check in time.
Restaurant was good. Junior suite was spacious. No hot water so cold showers all weekend. Towels were old and not very soft. Combo shower/bath was old/cheap. Blinds wouldn't close completely in living room area so privacy was an issue - especially since you could see through to the bedroom. Overall impression is that they took an old, run down 2 star hotel and tried to updated it with hipster accents. I've seen it done well elsewhere but here they fall short.

Staff was very nice and the restaurant was good. Beds were comfortable and room was a pretty good size. Rooms were a little run down and carpet was a little dirty, some things in the bathroom were broken and bathroom was really small.
Staff is great location is great and I love the pool! My room was over the restaurant and had a smell to it but it wasn't unbearable.

Old meets new was fun. Learning more about Don being blown-up in his crappy, small, yellow forgien sports car gave a fun dangerous vibe. Fitness room worked. Loation is great. Covered parking rules. One beat House music is hard to take by the pool trying to read or on the roof watching a beatuful sunset. That music requires the listener to be on lots of really good drugs in a club to be appriciated. However, I dare to say most people thing that music sucks anytime, anywhere while on any drug(s). Clubbing, stockholm syndrome nonsense, sholdn't be forced on everyone in the name of pseudo cool.
I like the amenities that were offered. I would definitely stay there again.

Location was good for what I needed. Other than that, stay away. Bedding was clean, staff was attentive and polite, but the place has not been maintained. At all. The property may have ranked a 4 star rating long ago, but it honestly looks like that was the last time they even spent a dime on upkeep of the structure. Again, the employees were great, but the place is a dump. Room had carpet that was withered and frayed, looked like it had been installed in the 80's. As if that wasn't enough of a tip off, there were several huge stains that literally looked like a donkey had urinated a few times - again, quite a while ago. Air vents have not been cleaned since the last century, so if you are into breathing spores, other people's skin cells, and bacteria - this place is for you. I also had the pleasure of sharing the suite with a loud buzzing noise every 55-60 seconds. Sounded like a cell phone on a table vibrating. After a few nights of putting up with this, I decided to investigate. Really with I had not... first I found a huge 36" x 16" hole hacked out of the wall behind a mirror hanging in the connecting hallway to the front room. This had some other mismatching hunk of drywall dangling in it, not really doing much to seal the hole. Emergency plumbing repair unfinished? Maybe the source of the camel pee stains, don't know. Finally, I found the item responsible for the 55 second interval alarm... behind the vent in the ceiling, a cheap recirculation pump was mounted with no thought for vibration dampening. Seriously, this thing was absurdly annoying. Honestly, I've seem far better maintained rooms in a Motel 6 or Super 8, I expected much better from a hotel of this supposed caliber.
We were allowed to stay at the pool and to use the spa facilities to shower after we had checked out and before our evening flight. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.

The Royal Palms offered the perfect oasis for my boyfriend and I to completely relax and enjoy one another. We had the best vacation drinking Mai Tai's, Miami Vice's and Woo Woo's by the pool while catching some rays and laughing with each other in complete bliss. The room was perfect for romance, drinking wine on the balcony while over looking Camelback mountain and boning in the huge king size bed, tub and shower. Thank you Royal Palms and see you in 2015...Woo Woo

The resort is beautiful. The wait staff at the restaurant was fantastic. Check in was delayed until after the check in time and there was no apology for this. Staff at pool were not very friendly and very slow.

The personnel were outstanding, taking real pride in their duties. I was there for a very large dinner (800+), and the food/service were excellent. My filet was just the way I like it, even tho I wasn't asked. It was so large, I couldn't finish it - and wish I had it right now!! Not applicable.

This "hotel" felt more like a motel at luxury resort rates
The main pool was nice. The bed were extremely uncomfortable, the room smelled very strong like it was painted, not good with kids. The interior of the room was not luxurious at all. Flat panel hollow core doors, basic trim. The putting green was not kept up all, it had weeds everywhere, the cups were not trimmed, the ball could barely get in the whole it was so overgrown. It was an extremely dated property. It appeared they tried to update some things like bathroom sinks and shower tile but severely missed the mark with everything else. I received a discounted rate and it still was not worth near the money I paid. I left a day early even though I was paid for 3 days. I didn't get a refund as wasn't offered any compensation of any form. Very disappointed and will never stay there again.

Swimming pool was great.... Room was modern and very clean. Location to Downtown Scottsdale is perfect. The only thing that needed updating was the mattress. It felt soggy lumpy . Woke up with a sore back. Girlfriend also Complained about soreness.
Location location location... For the purpose of my trip and the price(60/night) the hotel was central to everything I planned to do which made it a great choice. The rooms initially appeared to be nice but their attention to detail is severely lacking. The sheets on the beds are white so it's very easy to see the black or reddish brown(hoping not blood) spots and lines on the comforters. The desk is black granite which made it a bit difficult to see the ants crawling on it but my daughter saw them and killed them with my boot. I thought she was kidding since I never saw any, u til our checkout date when I went to grab the phone chargers put of the wall and all the ants were on the wall socket. And last but certainly not least is the staff not being honest. Now this was 100% my mistake I left some articles of clothing on a hanger in the closet (kicking myself for not double checking before leaving) next day I call to inform them that I forgot it and told them exactly what and where it was located, but it can't be found by their staff. Two sweaters should not be worth their staff's integrity. In conclusion I personally will not be staying here again but if you choose to please remember to double check all of your belonging prior to leaving and keep a close eye for stains on your bedding and bugs in your room.

Bed was comfortable, and the location was ideal for us The plumbing in the bath/shower combo didn't work properly. The tub faucet would still be running at the same time as the shower head, so the it was a race to see if the tub would be filled by the time you were showered.
The staff was amazingly helpful, polite, and friendly. The property is beautiful, location is excellent, and rooms are top of the line for the money. Nothing!!! :)
Loved the whirlpool tube, the bed was 2 die for and having microwave and refrigerator was the best ever I don't think we had a bad experience at all

This hotel is Nice and clean. The interior design is modern. The location is perfect if you want to take a stroll around downtown. From the front entrance, you can see the US Airways stadium, the Chase stadium or arena (sorry, not a sports fan) and just a few minutes walk away. Also it about a five to ten minutes walk to Heritage Square. One minus is the room we stayed in had only one chair and a long sofa for seating. Having just one chair made it tough for two of us to enjoy food or coffee in our room. I recommend friends to stay there, but because it's downtown, don't be surprised about how expensive parking can be, $23/night. None

Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly, courteous and professional. Only guests can enter the guest room floors. Our room's thermostat was not working right. Our room at the lowest temperature was freezing but at any higher temperature our room would be way too hot. There was no door on the shower which caused water from the shower to get on the bathroom floor, making it slick and a fall hazard. Our bed had no sheet, just the comforter and a small throw blanket. We had to request a sheet and add it to the bed ourselves. We had a very difficult time getting comfortable enough to sleep.
Nice place No smoking. $140+ rooms but $27 just to park in garage. And no the hotel doesn't pay for it dicount it or validate parking. This was a bummer.
I liked the location, the décor, and the amenities and perks included with the hotel room stay. Overall, a great hotel. :) I did not like the design of the shower, where it was only partially enclosed with a glass wall, where water could spray out onto the bathroom floor. The mattress was a little hard, and the pillows were a little flat.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Love the location - easy walk to arena and convention center and light rail. Plenty of restaurants, clubs, live music choices nearby as well. While I didn't mind, some may be put off by the need to leave the hotel and cross the plaza to access fitness center and breakfast. Both are well worth the "inconvenience"
Awesome Labor Day weekend stay at Sanctuary. Stayed at Mountain Vista suite which was very roomy and comfortable.
My sister and I booked a two night stay at the Sanctuary because we had heard good things about the spa. We got a great deal from online travel website (especially since we went off-season) and the pictures of the room online looked great. When we arrived we were very surprised--our room looked nothing like the pictures online. The furniture and carpet were worn, it was small, the bed was uncomfortable and we couldn't regulate the temperature (something that is very important in Arizona in the summer). The brochure for the Sanctuary says the rooms are sleek, modern and comfortable. Not our room! We had to wonder if we got placed in the 'bad rooms' because we booked online with online travel website ? Would we have received a better room if we had paid more money? I will say that other parts of our stay were nice---the spin class was good and the body srub and Thai massage in the spa were fantastic. Not good enough though to go back. Next time we will be staying at the Boulders in Phoenix or going back to Canyon Ranch in Tucson.
We were met at the front by a friendly assistant who took me to the front desk to check in. He then guided us to or room with a golf cart. He noticed the cat in the car and waited for us to cage her before helping with the luggage. Sanctuary is a series of small buildings, some with oneunit, others with three or four. Most had balconies. Landscaping is terrific. Dining room was excellent. Pool is a beautiful setting and open 24 hours ( with a room key for security). Great place for a romantic weekend.
This was a last minute trip and we did not want to go home. Be sure to rent a car as it is not close to town. The casita was like a large apartment, private and very nice. Private pool was a plus for no noise relaxation. Great spa, tennis and fitness center. Keep this a secret!
We returned to The Sanctuary to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Everything from arrival to departure was top notch. The grounds and rooms are lovingly cared for. The staff is warm and attentive. The size of the resort is just right--not too huge and not too small. We prefer the Mountain Casitas to the Spa Casitas. They tend to be quieter, in our opinion. We enjoyed the outdoor seating/bar area for Happy Hour a couple of times; if you have 1-2 of the small bites and drinks from the menu it's a great value. Hiking Camelback Mountain: don't go on a weekend--too crowded.
If you are under the age of 40 you will be treated like a kid. We are mid 20's and the waiter at the Element Restaurant was extremely rude. He was the nicest waiter to the table behind us ( who was all older money) and came to my husband and I maybe 3 times during our whole dining experience there. They had their friendly people, but to some you will be treated like dirt. Even though we are young we have money and the guy underestimated us. Even if we didn't have money I would hope they would have a rule saying all guests should be treated equally. It was our 1st wedding anniversary, and there was nothing special about that dinner besides being with my husband. Would never go again.
I have been going to the spa for some time now and decided to take my husband along for a special treat. We stayed in one of the Spa Casita rooms and it was far more beautiful than on their website. Very comfortable, spacious and beautifully appointed and designed. All of The Sanctuary is of exceptional design. The location on Camelback Mountain is picture perfect and close to everything. The staff is one of the most helpful I have encountered. The spa therapists are of the highest level. I have had most of the treatments and I prefer to fly out and have my treatments here than have anything at home in Boston! I was drawn to the spa for their Watsu treatments and make sure that I have at least one every time I come. My husband throughly enjoyed relaxing with his massages, too. We both can't wait to return. It was a perfect!
The Sancuary on Camelback Mountain is a wonderful place to stay. The mountain and city views from the property are breathtaking. The property is beautifully landscaped and maintained. The pool, spa and fitness center are top of the line. The room was spectacular, tastefully decorated and spacious with a lovely balcony with a great view. It appeared a mostly adult oriented place and I did not see any children in my four days there. The bar and restaurant are first class. The most amazing aspect of the resort was the staff. They were the most friendly, customer service oriented people I have ever encountered, from the front desk, to the bellman to the pool attendants to the room maintenance staff....everyone was absolutely the best. I would highly recommend a stay at this resort...you won't be disappointed. This was my first time staying here and I plan to return again and again.
The resort's location was fantastic, nestled right up against Cambelback Mountain and fairly close to almost everything in Scottsdale. The staff was helpful, thoughtful, courteous and seemed genuinely interested in making our visit perfect. We loved the privacy of our mountainside casita and the small pool nearby made us feel like it was 'our very own'. Our view from the room was beautiful-the only thing better would have been to have had a balcony to enjoy the breath-taking views. The cleanliness of our room and the grounds maintenance were both excellent. The one thing we found rather disconsorting/disappointing was how extremely contemporary the decor of the room was-very, very low furniture with severe lines (the sofa was quite strange looking and totally uncomfortable). The room lighting was odd as well, lots of different lighting fixtures but none of them ever succeeded in giving the room a comfortable, inviting glow. We even tried lighting the small candles from the bathroom but even they couldn't warm up this room's cold furnishings. We were here to celebrate an anniversary and were hoping the room would have been more romantic in feel. We got some great views but the room itself felt very cold and unwelcoming.
This was a wonderful hotel. The suite we had was beautiful and spacious. The turndown service was very nice. The view was incredible. The location was good for everything we wanted to do. The only complaint we had was the service at the pool left a lot to be desired. Apparently if you want good pool service you need to be young and skinny, which we're not. However, that was not enough to ruin our time. We would highly recommend this as a place to stay to anyone.
This hotel made me feel very comfortable while I was visiting Scotttsdale the SPA treatment was the best ever!!
We have stayed multiple years. The pool, exercise, tennis, food, service, rooms and scenery are great. There is no entertainment, unless you count the conversation and ambience of the bar. The food is outstanding.
The staff were really nice to us and it was a very relaxing stay. I don't think they should charge people for the extra each day for use of the fitness center etc. unless they are interested. I did not mind but the customer ahead of me was not happy and I did not use any of the extra things except the pool.
We had an excellent stay. Very comfortable and easy to get in and out of. Well run. And we paid less than half of what similar Scottsdale properties were charging.
The sewer odor was very alarming in the room. The hotel moved me to another room when I called about the odor but the same smell permeated that one also. This problem needs serious and immediate attention to correct. I spoke with several other guests and they experienced the same issue so it appears to be pretty widespread. If This facility belonged to me, I would get it corrected fast.
Clean. Sufficient and close to where I was going. We were given a room very far away from check in and parking when they had many available rooms closer.

The Hotel Is very nice The only thing that I didn't like is that I had to pay 16 $ on top of the price of the Hotel, for services that I didn't use, but overall was so convinient that it doens't matter.
The hotel is in a nice environement. There is an Extra charge of $16 a day from the hotel that does not appear from the site.
All you need is on site and transportation is readily available

The property and grounds are beautiful. The hospitality staff in the restaurant are first-rate. We reserved a "king" room for a 3-night stay. After a full day of traveling we arrived at the property after midnight and entered a room with twin beds and a baby crib! There were exactly 3 hangars in our closet. On the final night we were awakened at 4 a.m. by water dripping from the ceiling (where the crib had been!). I moved the furniture and put waste baskets to collect the water. Upon checkout, we were offered a free breakfast for our inconvenience. Really???
Close to family. The resort is tired and it shows.
Lounge view awesome went for the sunset and ended up going back for night cap and view of Phoenix at night from the mountain every night. Plenty to do golf, great hiking trails, tennis and great pool area. Since you are literally on top of a mountain restaurants off property are not walk to but a quick 10 minute cab or car ride.

Nice room nice pools I stayed on a Monday until Wednesday and it wasn't very busy at all. I was put in the farthest room from the main pool so it wasn't walking distance, did receive shuttle service but would of been nicer to be closer.
as we frequent several valley hotels, we especially loved the adult pool area.................... our room had absolutely no view front or back

Based upon the first impression of the front desk service, along with the room, I was expecting a perfectly fine stay. Especially, considering, the stay was only for one night. The room was spotless, and super cute! (We got one with a jacuzzi, which is definitely a bonus of this hotel.) there was even a little note from the maid, ensuring we knew it had been cleaned 100%, for our satisfaction. That being said, I was required to call a 1-800 line, for room service? I was directed to an obscure representative, who was way beyond unprofessional, who then, transferred me to the kitchen of, what I found out later, was Streets of New York. Sure, but then why is it called OrderInn, on the room service menu? I just want to know where the food I'm paying stupid amounts of money for, is coming from. Along with several, basic food items, such as, plain old, Garlic bread, that they had, extensively, labeled as "Passion bread", and was being way overcharged for.
My girlfriend and I stayed here for the fourth of July weekend. I will never stay here again ever. The room was dated. The room looked like a road side motel. The pictures and smoke dectors were falling off the wall. The refrigerator door had a hole like some one kicked it. I went to four different ice machines four different times and not one of them worked. I had to drive to the store it was very inconvenient. For the amount we paid for each nigh it was not worth it. We didn't even go to the water park portion of the resort because we were so disappointed with our room
Beautiful location and amenities. We expected great services and top-notch amenities, but the staff and our room were just mediocre. First, we had to wait for 10 minutes to sign in. The check-in agent was tied up with a time-consuming transaction but didn't even bother to apologise for the wait, much less attempt to summon a colleague to help us. Bad form. Next, we paid for queen-sized beds, but our room was outfitted with full-size beds. Wah wah. It was late and we weren't in the mood for making a fuss, but it was just...shabby. Nothing horrible, just not good.
Resort was pretty and acommodations acceptable for price. Narrow roadways and endless views of cars. I was unable to find a way to navigate through the resort without walking through the parking lots. Only room service ordered was a caesar salad with a total cost of over $20. Lettuce had just been washed, but not dried so it was watery with cold cut type chicken placed on top. Very poor especially for a Hilton.
Housekeeping was superb-not too early and not too late! The staff is friendly and helpful. The 24 hour pool and gym was awesome! The grounds are beautiful! The room could've had a freshen up. Peeling wall paper; banged up furniture; fluffier and softer robes and towels. Little things but those little thing definitely will not hinder me for another visit!

The atmosphere. Sun and pools. Indoor/outdoor living. Food was average. Room service food was below average. Drinks were not good. You really need to step up your menu on food and train all your bartenders how to make a decent drink. Expected a lot better for the money!
Amazing pools and great relaxation spot. 2 year old loved the sand beach pool. You definitely need a rental car.
