The Hualapai Lodge offered a pleasant stay with a well maintained facility that was clean, inviting and mirrored Holiday Inn Express or other similar hotels. The staff were really welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our room was on the road side and we never heard the hourly train others wrote about. The small gift shop was adequate including snacks and typical travel needs. The Lodge resteraunt offered excellent meals and the service was mostly outstanding. Our single complaint was that breakfast in the resteraunt was a bit of pandemonium with the heavy transition of visitors arriving for the varied excursions - the wait staff seemed unprepaired, the wait time for service was exceedingly long and only came with repeated prodding. Loved the Hualapai Lodge. Very clean, quiet and good food! Lobby was wonderful with the large fireplace and gift shop.
Easy pick up for Grand Canyons 1 Day Rafting tour, super convenient. Next to noisy train tracks. Seems to run every 10-15 min at night. They do provide free ear plugs at the reception desk but it doesn't really drown out the noise. There was a black out when we checked in, which per the receptionist, occurs often in the summer. They should provide more than 1 flashlight per room if this is a known frequent occurrence.
The hike and the falls are the best! The facility is filthy! Does not open on time! The staff does not say much and are not helpful! In a nut shell, it seems that the people only deal with visitors because the have to and because they want to!!! The entire experience is overshadowed by the eagle eye of its inhabitants!
