Pros: Very beautifully renovated authentic andalusian house hosted by a very kind couple, Angel & Pepa. We had a really nice stay on our way from Cordoba to Sevilla. Delicious breakfast and roof terrace with view on the magnificent castle on the hill!
Cons: A TV in the room would have been nice.
Pros: Friendly staff, delicious breakfast, wonderful views, especially from the roof deck
Cons: Parking was a bit challenging (street parking based on availability in the neighborhood)
Pros: The room was nicely sized, and adjoining bath was spacious and modern. The highlight was the proprietors, Pepa and Angel, semi-retired professionals who were an absolute delight. There's a great tavern/restaurant about 50 meters away. Parking was OK in January, but could be a challenge in high season. Breakfast included freshly squeezed organic orange juice, along with the usual spread. Game of Thrones fans will enjoy the nearby restored castle that was a significant filming location.
Cons: The proprietors supplied slippers to combat the cold tile floors in winter. While it was not an issue for us, a person with mobility issues might have had problems climbing the stairs to the second floor.
Pros: I like that they have restored it to look as it was when it was build room was very nice and cool even in the summer heat
Pros: The hotel was very nice. I enjoyed the town it was located in being small and quiet. The castle was also enchanting. Breakfast was an good continental. I especially liked the fresh orange juice and coffee. The hotel certainly has the feel of an older homey hotel. It is completely modern and comfortable. The hosts are pleasant and helpful. I highly recommend. It was a nice break from the hustle and bustle of places in Sevilla and Granada.
Pros: A beautiful old house in the town square with lots of original features. The owners proudly showed us round. The room had a lovely bathroom with 2 sinks and a comfortable large bed. We had a simple but tasty breakfast and were very well looked after by the hosts. We have friends close by and will go back again.
Pros: It was gem in a small town with beautiful surroundings and an excellent view of the castle The owners Peppa and her partner were extremely friendly and helpful. I would love to stay there again.
Cons: The stairs
Only 1 km from Almodovar del Rio, Hostal San Luis is set between Córdoba and Palma del Río. It offers a grill restaurant and air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi. Rooms are bright and spacious and come with flat-screen satellite TV and a private bathroom. There is a café bar and an outdoor terrace with a garden area and children’s playground. You will find many shops, bars and restaurants in Almodovar del Rio. Breña’s Reservoir is 20 minutes’ drive of the guest house while Córdoba is 22 km away. Sevilla is just over an hour’s drive from Hostal San Luis.
Pros: They placed us in a very clean and newly renovated room. They said they're working on renovating all. The staff was so nice to us. The bartender waited for us since we were the last to check in. You check in at the bar and he shows you the adjacent building which is the inn. You get a set of keys to get into it. Ample parking. A short drive to almodovar del rio and the Castle (which I didn't like but that's a different review). Not too far from Cordoba. The breakfast was great. They brought a huge platter of assorted fruit to choose from. Toast, meat spreads, orange juice, iberian cured ham, regular ham, cheese, coffee. At night there were police and locals at the bar having a snack and non-alcoholic beer. Overall the inn and bar were very charming. Great value too!
Pros: Staff are very kind, helpful and hard-worker. The room is big, comfortable, complete. Nice breakfast (bar-like breakfast) Nice views of the Castle
Cons: You need a car to go to the village. A stain on the pillow. Few dirty towels on the balcony As it's near a main road, it can be noisy because of the cars and trucks
Pros: Spacious room, large beds, nice decoration
Cons: The view from the window of our room was not very nice, there had been some noise above our friends'room at around 2 AM.
Pros: Simple accommodation before Cordoba and Madinat al-Zahra. Very helpful and friendly staff, although we had a problem to find a common language. Clean and quiet room. Breakfast was one of the best in Spain. We didn´t eat lunch or dinner but those could be recommended, at least the restaurant was full of locals. Huge parking place.
Cons: The room was simple. But anyway excellent price-quality ratio.
Pros: The entire team were super-friendly, welcoming and very helpful. They went to a lot of trouble to ensure that, as a coeliac, I could have lovely dinners and breakfasts in their restaurant. The service was attentive without being intrusive, even though they were ultra-busy as it was local feria time. We enjoyed the location, easy parking and pleasant walks into town. Very comfortable beds and effective air-con. Nothing was too much trouble and we will certainly visit again.
Cons: A small bar of soap in the bathroom would have been nice, but we managed with the toiletries we brought with us.
Pros: The staff were very friendly and the food in the restaurant was very good.
Pros: Very welcoming host. Food was good and comfy bed and clean bathroom. Good value for money.
Cons: It's just off a main road so traffic noise was a nuisance.
Located in Almodovar del Rio, Al-mudawar is in the historical district, a 2-minute drive from Almodovar del Rio Castle and 10 minutes from La Sierrezuela. Featured amenities include a computer station, multilingual staff, and luggage storage.
Pros: The room was just what I needed. The wifi was great, good A/c. Breakfast was included. The lady that was there at check in was really helpful, gave me tips on where to eat, how to get to the castle, etc.
Cons: The only issue I had was that they had a sign out in front saying to call them and they'll be there in 2 minutes. I didn't have wifi or any mobile connection. Ended up going to the city hall that was close by and asked to use their phone. That was the only thing I didn't like, but it was most of my fault for not having a capable phone.
Cons: Very difficult to find! We used a Tom Tom which took us to a different location. We spoke to several local people who did not know where it was and it was only through trial and error that we found it. None of the local eating places seemed to open until late evening so ended up with bottle of wine and crisps from a local shop.
Pros: Nice little hotel with a fine breakfirst. Good and basic rooms with everything you need for a good night sleep. There is a flowery inner garden and a terrace with a nice view over the landscape. Nice for a relaxing moment in the sun or shade if you prefer.
Pros: The room was very clean and the bed confortable. The host was really kind
Cons: The B&B is in a village on one side of a hill with very narrow streets and with very poor parking. I risked to damage my rented car many times. The breakfast was really poor The network often had poor quality.
Pros: Parking area.
Cons: Not enough light inside the room.
Pros: Great location, friendly staff, breakfast was limited but good quality, free car park across from the hotel, we had dinner at a couple of the local restaurants during our stay and they were excellent.
Pros: It was in the center of the town, and with good parking close by. Nice patio and roof terrace. Good bathroom.
Pros: It was very attractive, I like the Moroccan touches. Tea and coffee freely available, free parking, simple breakfast for 5E. It was at the bottom of a long steep hill! The nearby castle was well worth a visit. Also it is in next seasons Game of Thrones as Highgarden.
Hotel Maria is located in Posadas, 2 minutes’ drive from Posadas Train Station and 26 km from Córdoba. The hotel has an outdoor terrace. Rooms feature plenty of natural light. Pros: Good warm showers. Though I do not speak Spanish nor the staff English we were able to communicate in French.
Cons: It was just a bit removed from town centre.
Pros: Affordable place to stop-off not far from Cordoba. Sparse but eminently serviceable. Friendly staff.
Pros: Liked hotel but a bit far out of Cordoba but we found a great castle and views when driving into Cordoba. The castle was Castille-De Almodóvar it is worth seeing
Cons: To far out and no bar fridge but good for price
Pros: It was nice...Highly recommended for travellers on cars) quite relax)
Pros: Big room. Nothing special, in the middle of nowhere.
Cons: Address written on booking is not the place where the hotel actually is. We had a bit trouble to find it, cuz noone around speaks English :-D We couldnt have a breakfast. Restaurant was closed. The receptionist had no idea we were arriving that day. Probably the house keeping neither - in the morning entered the room with no knocking and found us naked :-D
Pros: The hotel is reasonable, fine to just stay a night. Staff friendly.
Cons: Although within walking distance of the township, several hundred meters is along the road as there is no footpath. No kind of breakfast served, so needed to walk into the town first thing in the morning.
