Clean, modern room with smart design (power outlets, lights). Very good breakfast. 5 minutes to subway, easy to reach.
Open space bathroom, not very polite reception for 4-star hotel (nutpicking here). For local people prices of drinks are furious. Empty minibar at arrival.
I like the LED light strips above the bed.
Parking space is too small.
Nice breakfast (different kind of bread, smoothies, pancakes etc.), English as well as Mediterranean Options. Room was comfortable, shower inside the room. Staff was nice.
Unfortunately during our 3 days stay, the room has not been cleaned! We have put the sign and also communicated with the staff, the cleaning lady simply never came. This is the main reason for my bad review.
Everything was brilliant for our week's stay.It is situated on a bus route to both the metro and a tram stop into Prague centre and short walking distance to a comprehensive shopping mall, restaurants and metro. The Podoli Lido is walking distance or short bus ride in the other direction. The air-conditioning system is extremely efficient and made the Hotel a haven for us on the heatwave temperature s of 36 - 39C. The beds are huge and the comfiest we've ever slept in. Cleaning was super-efficient but completely non- intrusive. The room and bathroom facilities were very modern with two types of showers. Breakfast was wonderful, with a choice of over 80 items and a complimentary glass of Prosecco on Sunday. The restaurant was very relaxing and the food excellent and value for money. All the staff were very helpful, friendly and professional. We stayed there with other members of our family to attend our son's wedding that week and we all agreed that we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
Room maybe could have done with a bit more storage and countertop space but as it's mainly a conference hotel and one night stop for coach parties can understand why the rooms are minimalist.
The big bed
The location and the automatic light in the bathroom because i have to move to turn it on
The Occidental Praha hotel (member of the Barceló Hotel Group and formerly Barceló Praha) is ideally located near the Congress Centre in the financial district. It has good links to the Vaclav Havel International Airport and is very close to tourist attractions such as Vyšehrad, Wenceslas Square and Prague Castle, making it a great option both for business trips and holidays.
