Pros: Owners we tank w and beyond. Love the quaint cottages. Much nicer than hotels. Establishment has a lot of history.
Pros: Staying at the oldest continually operating motel in Texas--you feel like you are almost a time-traveler....this could be in Mayberry!
Various styles of units on acres of lawn, shaded adirondack chairs, bird houses, a couple of resident cats. Imagine your grandparents as newlyweds pulling in and staying a few days. It is modest and totally refreshing. Coffee pot in the room but a 30 second walk to the office for complimentaryKeurig coffee, a newspaper, muffins, apples, and the proprietors even provide some nuts, power bars, and biscotti to take in the car or nibble with the bottle of wine you brought with you. A grocery store is 5 minutes down the road.
Tasteful antiques, Pottery Barn linens, curiosities and conversation--or solitude. Tennessee Williams stayed here in 1939 and he could have done some work---it's an hour and a half northeast of Austin on a secondary but easy highway. Great place to explore small town real Texas. Drove to Calvert,TX for antiques and people watching.
This place is not for you if you need a pool, room service, a flat screen TV or a minibar. OK for well behaved kids.
I had a comfy queen bed in a cozy room and a fabulous shower head in the real bathtub---and the A/C kept me comfy in the middle of June.
0h and did I mention $59 a night?
Cons: Neighborhood lacks charm but is quiet. Internet access seemed too challenging to bother with.
Pros: THE STAFF THE STAFF THE STAFF! Best in the business. If you need anything they are on it! 2nd time staying at this hotel and if the family has another event in Rockdale we will definately stay here again for the excellent customer service!
Pros: Beds comfortable
Cons: The guy at front desk didnt have a clue what he was doing took almost 2hrs to check us in then gave our room away
Pros: The bed was very comfortable and fast check in.
Pros: Friendly service. The room was fine.
Cons: The internet did not work and there was not cell service signal in the building for either Verizon or Sprint. Out by the street I could get Sprint.
Pros: The staff was outstanding! Rooms were clean and the breakfast bar was kept stocked.
Enjoy your visit to Cameron with a stay at Budget Host Inn & Suites. Guests can take a dip in the outdoor pool or visit the fitness center for a workout. A spa tub and a garden are offered, and in-room conveniences include refrigerators and microwaves.
Cons: The breakfast was not good at all. Eggs tasted bad, milk was expired, kids and us barely ate anything. Room was OK but not the greatest. There aren't many choices in Rockdale to begin with, so 2.5 stars was the highest available and it was pretty bad.
Cons: Do not go there, it is filthy---bugs and breakfast was not served at all ... it's says it has a pool and it does not. Very dirty hotel for the price.
Pros: Room was fairly clean.
Cons: Front desk young man was extremely rude when checking in. He was trying to get more money for two beds in the room though I called few days earlier and they confirmed me to have two bed room in my reservation. They also lied how full the hotel was.
Pros: Hotel staff was great.
Cons: The room had a stale smell to it, there was a visible extension cord running from the plug by the sink to the microwave, really tacky. Also the cover on my bed was dirty, full of visible spots.
Pros: The beds were good and the shower had great water pressure.
Cons: The milk in the breakfast area was out of date and spoiled. Not much room for seating in the breakfast area
Pros: Clean and quite
Pros: The manager was so accommodating. I needed to stay during one day instead of over night and he let me into a room at 9am and let me check out at 5 pm with my one night stay reservation. He asked if I needed anything and how I liked the room.
Cons: The restaurant next door was closed.
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful
Cons: Not enough towels
Pros: Affordable rates
Pros: Great location and very quiet.
Cons: Breakfast was fair at best.
Pros: The hotel was clean and the owner's son was great. Breakfast was good and he was very friendly to make me more when it ran out.
Cons: TV didn't work well and when we asked the girl (at check-in) for a new room, she lied and told us they were full for the night. I went out and counted LESS than 10 rooms occupied. She also knew little about the city the Hotel was located in.
Pros: Location Manager was extremely helpful
Cons: Coffee pot in room did not work but coffee was available in the lobby.
it's not a bad drive from Waco or College Station, and not a bad place to lay your head on the way. Not 4 star for sure, but clean enough.
Pros: Price and availability
Cons: it was pretty dingy, but seemed clean enough
Took 15 minutes to get the shower to work properly. TV had no reception...I mean ZERO channels. I also think there was a drug dealer in the room above us. Major traffic in and out of his room at all hours of the night. On the bright side, the air conditioner worked great.
Pros: Air conditioner worked good
Cons: Took 15 minutes to get the shower to work properly. TV had no reception...I mean ZERO channels. I also think there was a drug dealer in the room above us. Major traffic in and out of his room at all hours of the night.
Right off of highway. Rv set up in back. Close to Cameron park.
Pros: Close to park.
Cons: No do not disturb tag for door. No peep home in door. Housekeeping banging on door 8:40am Bathroom door not close. Move sheets and find dead cockroaches.
