This B&B is set in the shores of the Paradise Bay Beach, 15 minutes’ drive from Exuma International Airport. It features a sun terrace, an extensive garden and a golf course. Free private parking and free WiFi is available. The rooms offer garden views or ocean views, air conditioning, a desk, fan, TV and DVD player and iPod dock. The bathrooms have bath or shower. Paradise Bay Bahamas serves free Continental breakfast. There is a restaurant on site named La Fourchette. There is a liquor store at less than 1 km. Activities like boat tours, Jet Ski, surfing and wakeboard can be arranged at Paradise Bay Bahamas. Car rental, scooter rental and kayak rental are also available. his property is 30 km from Georgetown and Exuma Town.
Pros: The location of Paradise Bay is very ideal to travel from one end to the other end of the island. Our cottage was very big, clean and modern and it had very a comfortable bed. It had a fridge and enough place to unpack all your clothes. I just wish there was a safe in the room, that was the only thing missing! The restaurant La Fourchette has great options for lunch & dinner as well drinks. Norbert, Sonia and Lee to name a few made our stay unforgettable thanks to their tips and hospitality. There is a parking is you rent a car.
Cons: We got a little bit tired of breakfast after 5 nights there (same scramble eggs and toast with jams every morning) so the variety isn't really there but this is only a small negative to us as we understand the limitations of catering to such a remote island.
Pros: The lodging was clean and for the most part comfortable. The beach is part of a large cove, and is pristine. There was no trash anywhere for as far as I could see in any direction. The aircon worked very well, with no problems. The bed was comfortable, and appeared to be king size. There was a tiny pool in the center of the compound that was 5' deep and slightly larger than a hot tub. Honestly.
Cons: OK... Let's just get this straight right away. The Restaurant and the Lodging are on the same property but are not managed by the same people, and they do not work together. Breakfast sucked, because It was advertised on my booking as $10. I went the first morning to the restaurant, and asked to avail of the $10 breakfast. The man there told me specifically, that he didn't know anything about a $10 breakfast. You can get breakfast here but it is pricey, as is all the food at this location. Beware... This is not a traditional Bed and Breakfast as you would expect it. I have traveled all over the US, Asia, and Europe. Bed and Breakfast has basically the same meaning. And the facilities are either run by the same people or they are so seamlessly integrated that you wouldn't know the difference. At this place, the first thing that I heard when I checked in was the lodging manager telling me that he does not manage the Restaurant and can not give me any guarantees. I really wasn't here for this property anyway, so I just ignored the restaurant. My daughter was getting married at the Sandals resort. I thought Sandals was too pricey, so I stayed at Paradise Bay (and just got day passes for the Sandals). The walk to Sandals Resort is 1 1/4 miles, and should not be made in sandals or flip-flops, since there is broken glass all along the side of the road. Most of my meals were consumed at the Sandals Resort and not at Paradise Bay (especially after the issues with the management, the first morning I went for breakfast). Please note that when you go to Paradise Bay, you are (normally) committed to eating at the restaurant, because there is no alternative close by. I would have rated the lodging higher, if it had not been that the Breakfast part of the Bed and Breakfast sucked big time.
Pros: We absolutely LOVED our stay at Paradise Bay. This was our second time in Exuma and I have to say that this is way better than Sandals. The staff at Paradise Bay and La Fourchette (onsite restaurant) are absolutely wonderful! We had so much fun with the staff there - they felt like family by the end of our stay. Nikka made sure we were not missing out on any fun events on the island and helped us with all of the festivities, car rental and taxis. Ultimately, it was a great vacation and a wonderful place to stay
Pros: View was gorgeous. Staff was nice just nothing out of the ordinary.
Cons: The food was average and over priced. The price was high for the facilities.
Cons: The place is pretty basic, furnished with Ikea furniture. At more than $350 per night, I'd expect at least a bottle of water in my room. The oceanview (as opposed to oceanfront) cottages are next to the main road. All of this would be fine at $100 per night, but at the prices that the property is charging, can't help but feel shortchanged.
Pros: Good location to the beach
Cons: The beds were hard Sheets were scratchy Power went out a few times If you book thru booking the continental breakfast is not included Tons of sand fleas
Pros: The staff was excellent!!! They went out of their way to accommodate us. Friendly and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the hospitality. Beach was beautiful. The owners were delightful. Angelo, restaurant manager/owner was wonderful. The receptionist/concierge was so helpful and went above and beyond helping with arrangements.
Cons: Nothing. Everything was perfect
Pros: Beautiful, quiet, restaurant on site was great. Loved our cottage and the staff is very helpful and warm!
Cons: The pool is very small, but warm and not crowded. There is not much around to do so you definitely need to rent a car.
With a stay at Grand Isle Resort and Spa in Rokers Point, you'll be on the beach and 4 minutes by foot from Emerald Bay Beach. Featured amenities include a business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Nice large villa and well equipped kitchen. New beach restaurant and lunch shack were great. Generally friendly staff.
Cons: Poolside restaurant is overpriced and disappointing quality. We also had one rude waitress who tried to put extra drinks on our bil. Manager eventually resolved the issue.
Pros: Emerald Bay is an excellent and beautiful beach, rooms are large and very comfortable.
Cons: Staff could be friendlier, a smile on the face doesn’t hurt. Specially at Palapa and reception. Even though the hotel says that it hosts many different nationalities it seems the hotel is prepared for Americans only. The 23 North restaurant’s last seating is at 8:30pm and Papala 9pm (even though it closes at 10pm). If you don’t make reservations you might be in trouble (there is nothing around the hotel). So don’t get hungry after 8pm and be prepared to follow the restaurants’ very rigid rules (not flexible not even to make a salad!)
Pros: A gorgeous place to relax and enjoy Emerald Bay and the rest of Exuma. Right on the beach, with a good pool and staff that will help you with anything you need. We had a one bedroom property which is big enough easily for a couple, with kitchen, bathroom, living area and bedroom. Their new ‘beach club’ called 23 Degree North is a great place to catch sun in the day, and also eat out at, especially for lunch.
Cons: Food options weren’t great at their main onsite restaurant, for lunch especially, and the shop on site is limited. This makes eating options tricky when staying for more than a couple of days if you’re a fan of variety. The beach shack is great, but with the hotel being quite remote, once the beach shack closes before the sun goes down, there’s nowhere for a social drink after 7/8pm. So it makes it a little too quiet in the evenings if you are stopping there for more than a few days and you like having a night cap before heading back to your villa.
Pros: This is a beautiful resort! Everything from the service to accommodations were excellent. Will definitely stay again.
Pros: Villas were amazing. Beach was beautiful. Golf course was fantastic.
Cons: The food was good but not great. Service a little slow but very friendly. The pool area was nice but not epic. Tough to find things for teens to do.
Pros: Beach setting, high quality rooms, friendly staff and locals, nice beach in front of hotel, full kitchen
Cons: Out of town, limited activities (just 3 nights if live music), limited food options, moderate value for money
Pros: Location. Convenient. Clean.
Cons: Takes a long time to get food in the restaurant. No convenience store near by
Pros: Beaches are gorgeous Staff is so friendly Villas are spacious
Cons: Wish there was a more variety of food
Pros: The most amazing holiday we have ever had started with a warm welcome from the ladies at the reception desk. The whole staff will make you feel like home by giving their best in serving you in a professional way, while always showing a real smile on their faces. The spacious villas are equipped with everything you might need so you can just relax and enjoy the view to the sea, or to the astonishing garden (what I especially loved about it was the permanent smell of the fresh-cut grass, combined with the ocean breeze). The beds are really comfortable. The concierge team is always ready to give you the best advices on what you can and you should do while on the Exumas. This place is really quiet, so you will find the way to truly relax and “feel” the peace! Great wi-fi!
Cons: They should definitely work on their only restaurant. The food is really bad, I’m pretty sure even the pizza we’ve ordered from their menu was frozen. Their beach is nice, but not the best. They will however guide you to a more authentic one, which is like 10 min away of walking from the resort.
Pros: Nice pool, lovely villa, good breakfast.
Cons: Dirty floors in the room.
Pros: Property was stunning. Beach was wide with white sand and turquoise blue water. Food was mostly excellent, only a couple of average meals.
Cons: Check in was frustrating- some staff not very welcoming at check in. Otherwise all staff was good to excellent.
Pros: The food in all of the restaurants was incredible.
Cons: The hallways could have been more up to date.
Pros: This is obviously not a cheap resort, but Sandals comfortably defend the price. The resort in itself is great, with beautiful gardens and pools. The rooms are large and very comfortable. We felt they captured the feeling of visiting a small and luxurious coastal town, avoiding that assembly line-feeling you sometimes get at large resorts. The restaurants are overall very good. Our favorite was the sushi restaurant Soy. Joel, who runs the restaurant, is a star. The cluster of Asian restaurants is generally very good, and it has the best bar of the resort. We also had a remarkably good risotto at the Italian restaurant. If there's anything to improve, it could be more of a healthy selection throughout the day. Fresh fruit smoothies, rather than syrups, would be nice. It's not exactly difficult to find healthy food at this resort, but we'd love more of a healthy selection in snacks and drinks. The hotel beach is not the nicest we've seen in the Caribbean, but it is by all means a very nice one. If you want calm waters and water sports, it might be a good idea to choose a time of year with little wind. Regardless, we highly recommend a boat trip offered by the hotel as it adds that "remote island" vibe. All in all we had a near perfect vacation. Definitely not the last time we visit a Sandals resort.
Pros: The service was impeccable, special shoutout to Wayne at the onsite pizzeria, and Galicia at the onsite Italian restaurant. You two made our trip so memorable, thank you for being so warm and welcoming.
Cons: My only "complaint" is there is like an hour midday where you can't find food unless its room service but we got through it, with drinks of course :)
Pros: Angela terissa and Ashton were amazing and the best water we have seen!
Pros: The property is absolutely beautiful!
Cons: Some of the wait staff members did not meet our expectations for this type of resorts. Also, they should have bottled water available at the bars and restaurants, not just in the rooms
Pros: The smiling attentive and helpful staff and the location was outstanding! The food was way better than most all inclusives and the piano bar at night was so fun! The “jerk shak” had fabulous food during the day. Fun activities during the day poolside were enjoyable.
Cons: The heavy comforters on the beds were AWFUL!!! Why would you have such heavy bedding in a tropical location? Had to turn the AC way down to make up for it. If they had tropical weight bedding they could probably save a lot of electricity, SUCH a waste. I get wanting fluffy comforters, BUT these were SO heavy. All 6 people in our party agred
Cons: The beds are to hard.
Pros: The resort is beautiful and lovely! The tours Sandals offered are awesome. The service attitude was great!
Cons: The beach in front of the hotel was not as good as the beaches we've seen on the tour to the pig island. However: when walking on the beach to the right, there is a beautiful corner at the end. We were at the Bahamas Bay, Soy, Kimono and pizza restaurant and the food was okay, but not awesome. The cocktails can also be improved. Sometimes the service was a bit slow and unorganized. E.g. we called the reception two times to order new water to our room, but it took them half a day to deliver.
Pros: It is a quiet, gorgeous place with an amazing staff and a perfect beach. We could not have picked a better place in the Bahamas, the only problem there is not being able to stay forever!! We were assigned two amazing butlers, Samson and Henry, who were there for anything we might need. Food is surprisingly good considering it is a rustic island - we did not expect such elaborated menus .
Cons: Breakfast was not up to the overall standards. We expected fresher fruit and better coffee.
Sunlight Apts features accommodation in Mount Thompson. Both private parking and free WiFi are accessible at the guest house. At Sunlight Apts the rooms include air conditioning, a seating area, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a kitchen, a dining area and a private bathroom with free toiletries and a bath. All rooms will provide guests with a wardrobe and a coffee machine.
Pros: Nice one bedroom apartment. A/C in bedroom for nice nights rest. Very good for what we needed.
Cons: Daily power outages but nothing they could do as it was the power company that does it.
Pros: The host is extremely helpful, and drove us around the first day. However, it is recommended to get a car or moped.
Cons: The apartment lies in the middle of nowhere, 30 minutes walk to the nearest Beach and 35 minutes to the nearest convenience store.
Pros: Keila and her husband are super friendly. She picked us up from the airport and there was a BBQ at her place with great food and Kalik. The next day she drove us to the local grocery store, dropped us off at the beach and picked us up again in the evening. On our second day we went on the tour to the Exuma Cays, which is a must do if you want to see the Cays, the pigs on the beach, nurse sharks and iguanas. Following days we rented her car to get around the island and on our last day, she dropped us off at the airport again. Great experience of the outer islands :)
Pros: She offers complimentary rides to the beach. You can rent a car cheaper from her than the airport. Her hospitality is amazing and would definitely book with her again. We felt very safe and now planning to bring our young daughters. You can tell she loves what she does and loves her island by the way her face lights up when talking about it. I cannot wait to go back and eat at her future restaurant.
Cons: The apartment is in a secluded place that you have to take a car to the beach but we knew that when booking.
Pros: Keyla is by far the best host I have ever had in all of my travel experience. She took me right under her wing and was so kind to me like I was her own family. She helped me arrange everything and was a godsend. I am fully convinced that my trip would not have been the same without her help and generosity and I would recommend anyone to stay at Sunlite Apartments 1000x over. If you're on the fence about where to stay whether you're a solo traveler or not - stay here. She has so many connections all throughout the island and is so incredibly nice I could rave about it all day.
Cons: There wasn't a single thing I could complain about.
Pros: Good location (but you need a car), large clean apartment, coffee maker, easy parking, and incredibly nice host. She made our staying special.
Pros: About a 40 min dawdle/walk on a road with hardly any traffic to the beach which was fine with me because I'm a hiker. 2 local people stopped to offer me a ride, but it was a nice day for a walk! If you want a nice quiet inexpensive place in the 'woods', waking up to birds singing rather than party music and traffic, this is the place for you. I'd defenitly go back. Oh yeah, just ask Mrs. Strong a question or two about the area, and she'll talk your ear off! Very friendly. Or she'll leave you alone if that's your preference. She'll also pick you up at the airport and shuttle you around for a nominal charge,
Cons: Having a bike would be really good. They say they're planning on getting a couple of scooters and bicycles soon. Being from the US, people driving on the 'wrong' side of the road convinced me to NEVER RENT A CAR THERE!
Pros: Exuma is a paradise – I returned home two weeks ago and already dreaming to go there again one day. Sunlight apartments are equipped with absolutely everything you might need for your vacation, bed is comfortable, apartments are nice and clean. Surroundings are quiet and sleeping quality is fantastic. Kehla is so friendly, she even did banana bread for her guests one day! Car is needed in Exuma and I really recommend car rental. Island has one of the best beaches I have ever seen and there is so much to explore.
Pros: If you are looking for authentic Bahamian experiance where the host treats you like family then look no further. We needed to change our arrangements last minute and Kehla was so accommodating. She met us at the airport and took our bags so we can jump straight on a bus and start our excursion with Coastline Adventures. She took us to the store and even plan a day full of adventures. She even lent us her car for a day. The appartment has everything you need. The bed was lovey and comfortable. Everything clean and tidy. I cannot recommend enough! Thank you for amazing stay <3
Pros: First, choosing Sunlights apps is making a beautiful meeting. When she welcomes you to the airport, Kehla, straightaway offers you her friendship. She will drive you to her house, ideally situated out of the Queen's highway. It's close to Georgetown and near sumptuous beaches like Coco plum Beach, Hooper's bay beach or Flamingo bay. The owner will explain you everything arriving to the property and she will give you precious advices. You might also rent a car . Sunlight apts is quiet, surrounded by nature and you may watch awesome birds. The apartment is spacious, functional, confortable and cosy. Here, everything is done to make you enjoy your stay
