Great location hotel clean and comfortable, staff very helpful and friendly.Best of all though was the restaurant where the food was just fantastic. We will be back!!
Friendly staff, good location and nice view I thought that the room was hugely over priced for the facitlies. The shower was awful - constantly changing temperature and really weak - and the rooms were much more basic than we expected. I can only imagine that you pay for the view because it certainly wasn't the room. We left feeling very deflated!
Friendly attentive staff and fantastic food
The attitude of the staff was excellent
Very relaxed atmosphere, helpful and very friendly staff. The hotel is in a stunning location, yet well placed for access. Good room. Evening meal: only Table d'hote menu offered. While fantastic standard + 4 courses with plenty of choice, at £31 pp works out very expensive!
a relaxing stay in a delightful setting, loved the pool and spa and the food was fabulous, worth another visit.
peaceful and friendly
The staff were brilliant, the evening meal and breakfast were superb and very good value for money.
Staff attitude, good humour and eagerness to help in any way, was superb and made the short stay a memorable experience. None
Spacious room with beautiful design, lovely food, pleasant staff, beautiful setting. OTher than the exceptionally squeaky headboard that we reported during our stay there is nothing I can criticise.
The excellent food and the location and proximity to Keswick town. Bathroom was a bit dated and shower cubicle had seen better days.
The Hotel was and is amzing, food is gorgeous staff are brilliant. i stayed in the woodford suite and enjoyed every minute of it. keswick is such a beautiful place. nothing at all
The accommodations and the food were excellent! It was also nice to have access to a large car park.
Warm welcome.Pleasing location near Lake Derwentwater.Excellent breakfast served by pleasant willing staff. sign of any owners or managers throughout our four day stay!? none at all!
Most of all the friendliness and excellent service given by all the staff & the quality of the food
very freindly staff, excellent food, first class accommodation, every was perfect. nothing
Very clean, good standard of presentation and facilities bedrooms lovely Staff very welcoming, polite and courteous and nothing was too much trouble for the staff Food excellent, well presented and great choice
We love Keswick anyway so of course the location was ideal. We would fully recommend this hotel. The food was excellent. The menu changed daily and every meal was superb. The staff couldn’t do enough for you.
It was my 60th birthday treat from my daughters and we all had an absolutely fabulous time. The hotel and food were excellent and the manner of the staff is very rare to find these days. They were polite and courteous at all times. Normally we wouldn't really be able to afford £80 per person per night but for the experience it was worth every penny. It certainly would be worth saving up to return.
Location , the hotel itself . The service in the dining room was below standard . Wrong orders , food luke warm .
The staff at the Kings Arms were very helpful.
It was on the high street in Keswick, really central. Noise from refridgeration/ air con units
Position was fantastic, car park charges were included, staff were friendly. One bed and pillow was hard, room really needed updating, Staircase quite steep and room access right behind fire door.
Comfortable, warm room - great location Twin bedded room where one bed shorter that the other - not ideal for taller person.
location great .
The noise from outside and the creaking floorboards from the room above
Hotel was excellent value for money. super facilities and the sofa bed was excellent for my 2 year old son. Parking pass was handy and close to lake. Hotel was noisey at night due to centre location
The Hotel was warm and friendly, the room was very nice and very clean and the staff were very helpful. I would certainly use this hotel again when next in Keswick!
Excellent location, well appointed rooms, good value
Peace, tranquility.location, unobtrusive staff Mattresses were hard
The setting is amazing, Views over the lake, drinks in the sunshine infront of the lawn. The spa needs some TLC. Rooms could do with updating.
The hotel is a fabulous very old building set in a wonderful setting. The staff were also very helpful and friendly and the food just out of this world.
Relaxing comfortable but traditional style, good service and great spa.peaceful surroundings, calm and restful
Excellent food, service, grounds, and room. We were seriously disturbed by noisy babies and children both in the room from neighbouring rooms and in the restaurant which was sometimes as bad as a nursery.
Everything about the hotel was brilliant, the quiet surroundings with wonderful views of the lake, the facilities of the Spa, friendly staff, 6 course dinner and not forgetting the TV in the bathroom!
The atmosphere, open fire places, cosy lounge areas. The Spa was amazing especially the open air hottub, loved it! Nothing at all.
New part of the hotel, spa, pool and brasseri restuarant modern and suitable. Main restaurant, stuffy and pretencious, food was poor, veg still hard and meat overcooked, 3 tables sent their main course back. The room had broken tv controls, poor tv reception and cobwebs on the windows, I saw some bad reviews on trip advisor and though I would give it the benefit of the doubt, disappointed with old half of hotel, sommat recovered by the modernised side.
The location was absolutely superb and the room with the balcony was a great view. Lovely building and really nice staff.
Staff are very friendly and attentive. The restaurant in particular was excellent with local produce on offer. Nice views as hotel is in a lovely setting. There was some from the main road and also whenever anyone walked past the room the bed 'shuddered'.
Excellent location, very friendly staff, good food, nice booze and a hearty breakfast. Even though our room faced the road there was not much noise.
very helpful and friendly staff
breakfasts were very enjoyable with prompt service. rooms cleaned to a high standard bar staff worked hard at serving behind the bar and serving meals, leaving the bar unnattended at times
Everything The mattress....so hard
Staff hospitality & food was very good. Communal areas excellent, especially in the evening for meeting & chatting with other guests. Reception was at times badly manned.
The staff & food were excellent, also the room was kept to a very high standard. This is an excellent hotel to stay at.
Very friendly and good value for money.
Value for money. Comfy clean room. Nice new bar area, good food. Staff friendly and helpful. First impressions dark reception area not inviting. No staff available to greet you were busy in the bar.
In a prime location for walking and generally relaxing. Warm rooms, good food and friendly, withiut overpowering, staff Can't think of anything that we didn't like!
Everything. Hotel superb, location superb. Difficult to fault anything.
Good location and excellent breakfasts. Comfortable bed.
Location and friendly staff. Building which has alot of character and set in lovely garden. The floor of my room slanted badly. Although this is due to the age of the building, sometimes it was not comfortable sleeping on the bed. Decor in general could do with freshing up.
Comfort of large rooms; very good food.
Most staff very pleasant and helpfull a special mention for timothy in the dinning hall always smiling very helpful The room had, no hairdryer facilities, reception not helpful, room decor dull and dated, winows dirty outside, carpet trims loose, towel radiator hanging loose all but one bracket broken. Over all room very poor (309)
Staff were very helpfull ,breakfast was very good , hotel location next to keswick ideal walking distance. We were allocated room 118 on arrival - when going to the room the carpets and floorboards were all ripped up - big health hazard these days ! on on the second day the workmen needed access to the room so we requested a room change and this was done ok - shouldn't have been put in room 118 in 1st place - very inconveniant having to move rooms during our stay.
A comfortable and quiet room together with an excellent menu in the dining room.
The Hotel was very near town centre. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was excellent, bedroom/ensuite were very clean. Ease of booking in/out. Choice of evening meal times. For my person needs it would have been handy to have an ensuite with a walk in shower. Disabled guest.
Very good food; good facilities None
The location Lack of staff in the dining area and lack of english speaking staff, poor front of house, overpriced tariff for the quality of food.
Very relaxing break
It had pleasant surroundings nice walks round the lake large carpark nice garden to relax We felt the prices charged for meals and drinks were very high
The beautiful surroundings and comfortable room Had to wait for food in restraunt, they forgot to get paper on Friday and no mineral water in prestige room
I enjoyed the comfort of the hotel and its location was excellent. The hotel was quite empty most of the time. The clientele present were really really old, I would have preferred a slightly livelier atmophere.
i think the borrowdale hotel was a lovely place to stay the staff was very helpful and the food was great all made to order the only thing i felt that let the hotel down was the fact they put us in the old rooms , when saying we was unhappy the we got a refurbished room which was lovely , so if i was to come back i would ensure i get a refurbished room
close to shepherd's crag for rock climbing
being somewhere I felt made welcome, relaxed and valued throughout my brief stay
food was excellent ,nice log fires and friendly owners nothing
They are very dog friendly
The location was superb, food was excellent, and a great choice of real ales!
All staff were friendly and nice. Food in the restaurant was great and plenty.
dog frendly none
We booked a double room but when we got to check in they had us down for a twin room it was only due to another family cancelling on the very last minute that we got a double room. During our stay we became aware of other offers that would have saved us some cash that were not offered to us on line.
Being in the very heart of such a friendly town, with nice staff, good food and real ale. Would prefer bath to shower for the price.
Very nice room. We were told that is was the best the hotel can offer.Cozy hotel with a nice restaurant and pub. Lively town. Central location. None
Convenient for Keswick town Check the booking rate twice before booking.
the staff were very helpful and they was always some one there to help the lager was fosters and not carling but thats just me been petty.
Plesant bedroom and spacious bathroom. Good food in nice dining room. Friendly staff who cared that customers were happy. No real outdoor space.
Convenience to all Keswick attractions. Old World surroundings. Excellent bar meal and breakfast with prompt service. Staff who checked us in did not recognise we were residents and ushered us out of the bar to lock up.
helpfulness of staff, good food central location
Excellent beers in the bar, comfy room and excellent location slightly awkward parking, some street noise, but no problem really, big portions in restaurant a little over priced.
Excellent location. Friendly staff. Vegetarian breakfast available without having to ask. Room was clean and comfortable. The age of the property and the sloping floors were brilliant!! We would have preferred a room with a bath. Tv reception wasn't very good and it was a bit of a pain not having a remote control
