This is a fantastic place to stop and watch the world go by. You’ll need a good walk after your fabulous homemade breakfast with a view out on the terrace overlooking the fjord. Then you’ll feel like fishing after the stories about fishing on the fjord. Ask about the ice fishing too. The rooms are beautifully setup and comfortable. They look almost like a museum when you enter but don’t be fooled it is a great place to stay. Love the story behind the name too. Make a few days and look around La Biae, Chicoutumi and Lac St Jean. Your hosts, Yvon & Maude, will take you feel like family on a visit not just guests.

The breakfast were fantastic, like 5 stars restaurant (chappeau Maude!). Yvon & Maude were very helpful on the sightseeing tips. The is nice little cottage, warm & cozy. The view were fantastic & quiet, relaxing area.

Offering a view of the Saguenay River as well as beach access, Gîte à la Vieille École is located between Chicoutimi and La Baie. All rooms are equipped with a private bathroom.
