Pros: Our 2nd stay at the Overlook Mansion. It reminds me of staying in castles in England and Scotland.
Pros: Hard to say what I liked best: the breakfasts were incredible. I also loved the house, a gilded-era Upstate NY mansion.
Pros: The building and grounds are beautiful. The staff was more than accommodating and the breakfast was very nice. Everything was extremely clean and well appointed.
Cons: The shower head was short. I am 6'2' and the shower head was about chest level. The hot water was not steady.
We were greeted by Joseph the asst. innkeeper. He was very cordial and eager to please. He also gave us a great dinner recommendation in Little Falls. As for Jim the 'Omlet King' ---well he is a real character. He was very personable and also ready to provide anything you needed.
Pros: It was the closet I think I will ever get to the 'Downton Abbey ' experience. It was like rooming in a castle. Don't be fooled by the outside appearance as it could do with some sprucing up a bit. I still cannot believe how clean the floors were.
Cons: The wate pressue can be a little iffy when taking a shower.
This is a wonderful place to stay. Jim is an excellent innkeeper who cooks a great breakfast.
Pros: Qwerkiness, the style and setting. The welcoming staff.
Cons: No but it would be nice to have a comfortable sitting area in the reception area .
A place like no other - charm, character, history and beauty rolled into a delightful experience by a truly great intelligent and gracious team with care and competence! Jamie, Steve, Jim, Smitty, Sherry & Bellagio are magical. They convey a feeling of welcome that is hard to explain - from custom made breakfast by a talented chef to casual cocktails in the tavern. The mansion was lovingly and carefully restored by a solid four years of hard work - sitting on the huge wrap around porch is like sitting on top of the world - Little Falls looks like a fairy tale hamlet - soothing to the soul in it's peacefulness as it nestles in the valley below the aptly named Overlook Mansion. When the team restored the mansion they imbued it by their hard work with a feeling of pride and warmth that permeates every corner of this huge home. This is a destination not to be missed.
Pros: Absolutely spectacular. Service, service, service - a lost art in too many places - the team at the Overlook Mansion - Jamie, Steve, Jim, Sherry and Bellagio from the moment we arrived - from the best breakfast to the last evening cocktail wonderful!!
Cons: We couldn't stay longer - we already miss the grandeur and comfort of our room overlooking Little Falls and the thoughtful dining recommendations - one great unexpected experience after another!!
A great choice for a stay in Little Falls, Overlook Mansion features an airport shuttle. You can unwind with a drink at the bar/lounge, and free full breakfast is available daily. Room service and free WiFi are offered in all rooms.
Pros: The hotel is definitely worth it for the cost! It has a clean gym, a fridge/microwave in the room, and the bathroom was clean and the entire hotel was well kept.
Cons: The bed was not extremely comfortable.

Pros: Staff was very friendly and the helpful. The restaurant has excellent food! Would totally go back there! A great experience!
Cons: There was a bad smell when we first walked in the lobby, but it went away later. Also, the bar is right off the lobby and it didn't have a very private feel. There was no music playing either, which takes away from the 'bar feel'.
Pros: Great people at the front desk. Very friendly and professional. I love that u get free breakfast, real breakfast not that continental crap.
Cons: The room was slightly smaller than I would have liked. It's very compact. But it's nice and clean.
Pros: Clean, comfortable, helpful
Cons: The room was very dry. We were constantly getting up in the middle of the night to drink water. Pretty uncomfortable
Pros: What I've come to expect from Holiday Inn. A comfortable room and high end accommodations.
Cons: Staff was a bit immature. Girl at check in was not interested in anything I was saying or asking. Waitress in restaurant had no clue what a Balsamic vinaigrette was...or even what a vinaigrette dressing was. They were young and clueless.
Pros: Staff was very friendly when checking in and out
Cons: We got back from a party very late and housekeeping woke us up at 9am, and again at 10am. Not sure why since we were checking out at 11.
It was ok. The resturant was nice.
Pros: The beds and bathrooms were very nice, the TV was full HD, a nice closet and microwave, and fridge. The heating/colling unit was very quiet.
Cons: There should be another plug by the bed. The toilet seat was loose, needs tightening. The shower head is not adjustable, I'm used to a shower head attached to a hose. There was a problem getting into the internet on Sunday night, it didn't work.
the picture of the hotel is misleading.
Cons: we didn't stay. the minute we walked in it smelled funny and we were too early to check in....so they said they would try to expedite cleaning the room and would call us, but they didn't
The staff was friendly. The amenities were nice and the proximity to restaurants and movie theaters was a plus.
Pros: Location, restaurant and pool.
Cons: I arrived 10 minutes before check-in and was told they had been booked solid the night before and didn't have any rooms ready-could I come back in a couple of hours. I had something to put in the refrigerator. I dealt with it, but it was inconvenient

Pros: Our primary criteria were low cost and comfortable beds. Based on reviews this hotel was a match. The rate ($85 with breakfast) was great and the beds were indeed comfortable, as I had seen them described on Trip Advisor. Laughably small, thin pillows, though. I am tall with broad shoulders so beds and pillows matter a lot. Staff were all very nice and very helpful.
Cons: Breakfast was very limited, but sufficient to get the day going. My major complaint, which has been my complaint for every Super 8 I have stayed in, was the overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke, even in our so-called non-smoking room and non-smoking floor hallways (and with many burn marks in our room to refute the N/S designation). Given how many hotels have gone fully non-smoking I suspect Super 8 has become a "go-to" brand for smokers. In any case, we got what we paid for, and what we expected, and it was fine for a quick overnight on a long drive.
Any season is a good season here. All four seasons are packed with engaging activities. Skiing, horse racing, car racing, gambling, sight-seeing and many more pursuits are happening all year round. Whatever your call, the Super 8 Johnstown is conveniently located to even the Adirondack Mountains. Lake Caroga, Saratoga Race Track, FMCC, Baseball Hall Of Fame at Cooperstown, Howe Caverns, Saratoga Springs, Lapland Ski Areas are in the vicinity of Super 8 Johnstown. NYS Thruway is 6 miles from our location. In all our rooms we have high speed wireless internet access. Hair dryers, micro-fridge, iron and ironing boards, alarm clocks, HBO, free local calls are some of the many amenities available for our guests.
Cons: Rooms smelled like smoke everywhere, even though I had specifically asked for a non-smoking room. The shower ran all night as the water could not be properly shut off. My room had cheesy 70's style paneling on the wall, even though I saw in some other rooms through the window and they were nicer. The desk clerk had given me a line of bull about mine being the room he would choose to live in if he was going to live on premesis, and obvious fabrication just to get me into the worst room. The rug needed vacuuming. I just kept the lights low because I didn't want to see any more.
