Jack and Lakesha at the front desk were extremely helpful and patient with us and all of our questions.
Pros. Bar area is nice, bartender was attentive and pleasant. Room was nice.
Cons. Granted we stayed during a busy time (MN high school boys hockey tourney) the staff at the front desk was overwhelmed. There were between 4-5 people behind the desk, but 2 of them did nothing more than look over the shoulder of the others. I was the third person in line, and waited a good 10 minutes to check in. I was fortunate, as a large group arrived just behind me.
Cons. The breakfast spread in the restaurant.
Pros. The accommodations and decor were upscale and everything was clean. The restaurant attached seemed a popular attraction although we didn't get time to see how it was.
Cons. I would've thought the premium rate by comparison to other area hotels would've included parking n but it was am additional $15. They also put an additional $50 hold on your card for incidentals. Overall, I think it was a little on the costly side.
Cons. Customer service and not good location for other restaurants and the hotel restaurant is so poor customer service
Cons. Smoky room no free breakfast poor service in restaurant bar
Pros. Cookies at check in, comfortable beds and pillows
Cons. Waking up to a call from the front desk at 8:30 in the morning on a Saturday after being out late. Not many restaurants in the immediate area.
Pros. This hotel is in the heart of St. Paul. Walking distance to the Excel Energy Center and many dining options. Room was clean. I would stay here again.
Cons. Temperature control panel in the room did not work. Had to open the window in February to cool down the room.
Pros. Doubletree was wonderfully comfortable and affordable! They even helped us check in several hours early after our red eye, so we could nap. Thanks for a great trip and a much needed sleep.
