Cons: The car left a lot to be desired. It was a VW Passat with 45k miles -- more than I usually see on rental cars. It had quite a bit of minor body damage, though it was hard to tell because the car was so dirty. The oil change light on the dash was on and "oil change" was written on the window (indicating they knew about this and just hadn't dealt with it after the last rental ended). The alignment was severely off and the front tires were bald because it had clearly been this way for a long time.

RENTAL CAR AT MSP AIRPORT 12/06 - 12/09/16
Pros: Ease of renting at a reasonable price
Cons: We were promised Camry from the beginning till when we picked up the contract at the MSP airport. Still we received KIA which we did not like at all.

Cons: My flight was delayed a couple of hours and when arrived at the airport (with my family) I found Advantage's counter closed for the day. When called to their customer service line, their answer was that I had to come back the following day or go to another agency. Theirs was the only closed counter @ the airport. Will never book or use their services again.

Cons: I didn't like how hard they pushed for an up-sale for a different car. The agent charged me fees without telling me about them. (I knew there would be a fee for another driver, but she didn't tell me the cost.)
I've never paid so much for a rental car! I didn't upgrade to anything fancy, had it for 4 days and it was about $70 a day. This did not include any insure fee I pre-paid. However, I did pre-pay for the gas.
The car itself was nice. It drove fine and had good gas mileage.
I would definitely go back to the company I've always booked with in the past.

Waited for pickup, great help for dropoff.
Pros: The size of the car - we ordered a compact but basically got a mid-sized.
When we dropped off we mistakenly went to the wrong terminal but fortunately the Advantage employee drove us to correct terminal and helped with the drop off.
Cons: We had to wait almost 30 minutes for the pick up and car had been smoked in.

Cons: Cars always don't have all the bells and whistles, but they are clean and get you where you need to go.

But we found this airport to be confusing We accidentally dropped our rental car at the wrong terminal because the address on the paperwork led us to the wrong terminal . We had to take the city train to our terminal. It would have been nice to Have the drop off address for both terminals on our paperwork.

Easy - Good Value
Pros: Rented a small SUV for 5 days (Ford Escape). Great price and fit my needs perfectly. Check in was fast and easy
Cons: Late night drop off was a little messy - no one to meet cars and had to drop info at Budget counter so I didn't get a final receipt - no instructions that this is what needed to be done.
MSP Car Rental location/setup is a bit confusing - nothing to do with Budget - just need better signs/directions
Pros: The car was fairly easy to rent, even though this was my first experience renting a car on my own in an unfamiliar city. I appreciated they let me choose the car in my price range. Everyone was generally friendly.

A few hiccups
Pros: Customer service was good. But I was a bit shocked when he said that my rental charge would be three times the rate I had paid. Then he fixed the problem.
First car we picked had a light on it it so the gatekeeper stopped us before we took off.
Second car was good but the attendant locked the keys in the car after turning off the alarm. Funny
Cons: It was really late and we had to drive for another two hours before rest so the hiccups were a bit time consuming - even though handled well.
I enjoyed driving the car. It was easy to operate. Heater worked very well and I really appreciated that being from las vegas and visiting duluth.
The option to prepay the gas saved us a good half hour on the trip back.

I'll avoid Alamo next time
Pros: Not much.
Cons: The vehicle was the lowest trim. It didn't even have a USB input for phone charging.
Cons: The car heating and defrost system was messed up and I couldn't see out of the right side of the car a majority of the time, it worked sometimes if the heat was blasted

Great Car. Crappy Experience After.
Pros: Friendly service at pick-up
Cons: Was billed twice. I prepaid for the vehicle, and upon returning the vehicle an employee charged me again. It's been two weeks and I have yet to receive my refund. The follow-up and the process is lengthy and frustrating, and when I called customer service they had no knowledge of the location's submission for the refund, which I was told I had to call the location myself and find out what was going on. Very poor process and I'm unimpressed with being told I would receive a refund within 5-7 days, and when I called to follow up I received no answers. This was an overcharge of $200+. Very disappointing.

Pros: It was quick at the desk to get my keys and check out.
Cons: I was in a hurry to get to a client or I would have gone back in to complain. The car was filthy, the inside was disgusting, the outside had mud splattered all the way the side! Even the girl that checked us out at the security gate made the comment the car obviously hadn't been cleaned! There was also a crack in the window that as I pointed it out at the check out booth, the girl said she was aware, the last customer pointed it out as well!
I was so embarrassed that I ended up stopping and getting it washed and vacuumed before my appointment!

Terrible car rental company
Cons: We reserved our car for 8 days and paid for it all online, and upon arrival the person behind the counter told us to keep our reservation for the number of days we paid for would be an additional $60. When we refused, we were told we would have to bring the car back a day early, which created huge problems getting a ride back to the airport. When we returned the car, we were told we still owed an additional $40. We will absolutely never use Hertz again as a car rental company, and will make sure nobody we know has the displeasure of using them either.

Hard to Find
Pros: We had a hard time finding the location because there are 2 Union Depots in St Paul. Agents we talked to didn’t tell us that. We had to get the wiper blades replaced while on the road, not good.
Pros: Nicely equipped car. Built in free GPS was nice
Cons: Stood in line for over an hour to pick up car. Only half of the counter positions were staffed. Wish they would give a true price, not add on charges and fees at the time of rental.

Not a bad experience
Cons: Agent who checked me in was not clear about pricing of upgraded options and made it seem like you had your pick of vehicles. I had to specifically ask if there would be a higher rate for some of the vehicles that were being offered. I felt they were purposely non-transparent about upgrade charges in an effort to get the upsell. When turning the vehicle in there was no one there to direct you on the return process

Cons: The people I talked on the phone at MSP airport gave me misleading and incorrect information regarding my return. I went to one terminal to return me car, they told me it was the incorrect location for my flight, and sent me to the other terminal. When I returned my car, there was no attendant, so I left it there. It turns out I was charge extra for returning the car at the wrong location. Thankfully, when I call Avis, they refunded the fee, but it all could have been avoided.

No Cars Available
Cons: Upon arriving for a confirmed 10AM pickup, we were told that there would be no cars available for two hours. Our first meeting was less than an hour away from beginning, so we were forced to cancel the car and use Uber for the duration of our trip. This was very disappointing.

Rented two large vans from Avis for a trip

Pros: The car was clean and a joy to drive.
Cons: The people at the counter were slow. Check-in should be easy and quick, but had to go all the way into the terminal to the counter to hand in forms, and the guy really didn't know what he needed to do and what options I had selected. Hope I didn't pay too much.

Did not accept my driver license!
Cons: Manager refused my temporary driver license from California although I provided official DMV documentation that it has been renewed. I rented at many places which had no issues except this one particular manager. She even went around different counters at rental center with different companies to tell them not to allow me to rent a car. I had a 2 hour drive from the airport for an important work related appointment. There was no way I could get there.

Cons: 1) Not an easy location to reach.
2) Customer service at pick-up was awful. I was the only person in line, and had to wait 15min to get my car. Especially frustrating as I saw multiple associates sit down and talk with each other while I waited.
3) The following was said to me as I waiting in-line, "Hey Gyp, has someone helped you?" First, calling someone "Gyp" is beyond unprofessional. Second, after asking that and saying "well someone will be by to help" and then sit 20ft away as I waited an additional 10 min is frustrating.
4) The cost was ridiculous. >$250 for a one-way trip, less than 24hr rental for an "intermediate" size car is a bit excessive. I could (should) have got a one way flight for similar price.

Pros: vehicle had good power
Cons: vehicle was very dirty, rental agreement was supposed to include taxes and fees but ended up with an additional $146.00 in taxes when i dropped off the vehicle at the airport in Denver. Original price was 307.00 ended up being over 530.00 with 2 additional driver fees and taxes
