10.0 Excellent
Pros: I arrived late in the evening ... even so the family were kind enough to send cake to my room so that i had something to have with my hot drink. Sooo thoughtful! The house was beautiful, the accommodation was spacious and inviting. The family were warm and generous.
Cons: Everything was perfect.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Owners were very welcoming and very helpful. delightful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hostess and her son and his cousin were charming and could not have been more helpful. Fabulous room, beautiful food, great ambiance. This is a family home, lovingly decorated and arranged and in best possible taste.
Cons: I cannot think of anything that could be better!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We thoroughly enjoyed our 6 night stay at Villa Hortebise. The house is amazing, beautifully decorated and only a short walk to the centre of the historical village. Our suite included a large bedroom, private sitting room and bathroom (all very spacious) and the bed was the sort you hate to get out of. Added extras included tea making facilities, magazines, writing desk, lovely views, easy car parking and local tourist information. Our hosts could not have been more hospitable. Corrine's cooking is heavenly - better than many restaurants. We looked forward to each breakfast with almost everything home made: jams, breads, cakes and more. At our request Corrine also prepared two evening meals for us. She puts an extraordinary amount of effort into preparation and presentation while on a cooler night husband Cedric prepared a gorgeous wood fire - both provide lovely conversation and speak very good English. We found a range of interesting villages and historical places nearby during our day trips. The area is extremely pretty and easy to get around. All round, this was a real highlight of our 6 week trip.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Charming hosts: home made bread and muffins: fresh fruit and juice and choice of jam. This chambre d’hote is very comfortable, tastefully furnished and with thoughtful touches( bottles of water, tissues, dressing gowns, books, maps and coffee making facilities).
Cons: Had we known we would have to climb two steep flights of stairs with our luggage to our room in the eaves, we would have looked elsewhere- simply due to back problems. This could be a useful tip for future, possibly older, customers.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Corinne's house was delightful. A beautiful property set in a quiet part of town. We had a lovely view or their garden and beyond. This felt very much like their family home which we were staying in. Corinne had kindly bookdd a restaurant for us in a nearby village as Salies-de-Bearn ia currently recovering from summer floods. The restaurant was very good. We slept well - the room was very comfortable. Breakfast the next morning - well! Corinne is obviously a fantastic cook (made us think we should have booked her dinner the night before instead of eating out!) - and so much food. Her home made jams and bread were really excellent.
Cons: Parking was a little tight for turning around. We were okay in a small A1 but a bigger estate car would find it harder if other guests were staying.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners /hosts Corinne & Cedric are very helpful, welcoming & charming. Corinne’s home cooking is fab.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful house run by a lovely hostess. Fabulous breakfast and ideally placed for the local town.
Cons: Nothing.

3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The breakfast was OK, as was the bed, but that was the end of it
Cons: After travelling for 6 hours we got there at 6-o'clock on a cold evening. There had been no attempt to heat our room which was unpleasantly cold. The owner, Mark, said that he would put the heating on and that the room would be warm in an hour. It was not warm throughout our stay. The room was very pretty, but completely unfunctional. It had no chairs, no table, no TV, and no wardrobe. Which meant that you just had to perch, side by side, on the edge of the bed for the evening, and any other time you were in the room, just looking at the wall opposite. To break the evening up you could sit on the other edge of the bed and look at the other wall. Mark told us that we could close the shutters to the windows, as there were no curtains. Unfortunately he didn't tell us how to do that and when we came to do it we were unable to operate the locking system to release the shutters. This meant noise from the road, and the room was flooded with light at day break. The wardrobe was in a corridor outside of the room, and was accessible to anyone who chose to walk past. The bathroom and toilet were at the end of the corridor, and not directly accessible from the room. You had to go into the corridor to get to them. After breakfast the next morning we told the hostess that we were very unhappy with the accommodation and would not be staying for a second night. The woman became very angry and upset, and ran off to tell her husband, Mark. He came in to talk to us and try to make us change our minds. He brought two chairs up to the bedroom and a small table. Unfortunately they were the same sort of chairs that were being used at the breakfast table. As breakfast table chairs they were excellent, as chairs to relax in they were completely inadequate. He also brought in a Calor gas heater for the room, but I thought that was a dangerous thing to do and did not want it. We were still dissatisfied, packed our bags and left.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully refurbished historic property, comfortable and charmingly appointed chambre, gracious hosts. A lovely stay! Close to busy road but the house exudes such calm (and traffic ceases at night) that we were perfectly relaxed. Bountiful breakfast. We would return!
Cons: Our room was not en suite but all others are so simply select carefully
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Superbly restored house, brim full of character with a beautiful garden. The room was spacious, very clean and the facilities were excellent. Breakfast was top quality with a wide variety to choose from, finished off with local and home made delicacies. The best part of our stay were the hosts, Katrin and Mark, who were so welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful. One of the few places I actually extended our stay for. I would recommend the Maison Saffores to everyone for a short or long stay.
Cons: Nothing

5.8 Okay
Pros: Views over the golf course, quiet at night, comfy bed, friendly Staff, and as we were only staying one night, it was adequate for our purpose. Great tapas restaurant just down the road too ☺
Cons: We just stayed overnight, so although a little basic, it was ok. One small pillow provided each - would be good to have extras in the wardrobe. Very limited space in the bathroom. Breakfast was a croissant, yogurt, orange juice, tea or coffee, and bread with selection of preserves. This may be because we went in October, so out of summer season, but when you are booking and see reviews of a good breakfast, you would expect more, unless you knew otherwise before hand.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Large balcony great view of golf course. Quiet location.
Cons: Lack of tea making facilities and no evening restaurant.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean comfortable room in a standard hotel. Ideal for a one night stay. Friendly staff and good breakfast.
Cons: Nothing.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The gentleman who greeted us was very welcoming and friendly. We had a pleasant room with a nice view over the golf course. The bathroom was very nice, warm and spacious.(though the toilet was in a separate room, which had no heat). Breakfast was good. We knew that there was no evening meal facility, but we were able to get a carafe of house wine from the bar to take to our room and enjoy with our evening 'picnic'. We had a relaxing and comfortable night's stay. Would use again.
Cons: Did not realise toilet would be separate to bathroom, though for one night it was not important.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff were excellent. Beautiful grounds. Big comfortable rooms.
Cons: The bathroom was a little chilly at night.

Pros: The owners Lily and her mum were very friendly. Rooms are nicely decorated and bathroom was clean.
Cons: Unfortunately the bar/restaurant was closed the night we stayed, which means we had to bicycle 3 km to the nearest restaurant that was open. 9.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean, easy going, great location
Cons: No t towel of dishcloth , no loo roll or tissues - but managed to get loo roll from reception
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff in reception were so friendly and helpful at all time.
Cons: The furniture or specific lyrics the bed was cheap quality, every now and then the legs full of, but the reception staff were always ready to help when needed.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Nice enough swimming pool, plenty of free, very accessible parking. Most customers were French and very polite. Local town is quite charming, despite recovering from recent flood.
Cons: 1 x bed plus 1 x fold out bed not very comfy, information when booking as regards toilet roll / towels / linen is slightly misleading/contradictory, no air conditioning makes life very hot in July, only get wireless in reception area and then not very reliable, reception staff only there for limited hours during the day, most of reception staff have limited to non existent skills in English (not really a criticism, just pointing out), local town recently devastated by flooding (sad, but town was obviously much less vibrant as a result - most shops bars etc. closed down), local restaurants are pricey and their food is average to mediocre, very little to do for kids in the area, but we had a car so got around still, just one English channel on the TV (again, not a criticism, but just pointing out as regards things to keep you occupied for an hour or two when weather is poor etc.). 'Fully equipped kitchen' did not have an oven. Apartment is cramped if you want to keep the sofa bed in bed mode. Disposal of garbage area is not very well managed - over spill / not collected from site frequently enough. Gym room contained just an exercise bike and broken/out of service treadmill. You just detect a bit of complacency around the place as regards its functioning.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean little apartment on the edge of town. Quiet and pretty location. Nice pool. Good welcome and friendly.
Cons: Wi-FI in all areas
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very nice.
Cons: Shower weak. Uncomfortable beds.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service, very helpful staff. Rooms good and amazingly peaceful.
Cons: The area it's in doesn't do it justice.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room was clean and comfortable with a balcony, everything provided. Basic but excellent for value for money. We enjoyed our staff. Staff were very kind and patient with the little broken French we speak but we managed. For English travellers who don’t speak any English please do brush up before you go.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location

Cons: Nothing, we only stayed one night.
8.8 Excellent

Cons: All was very good
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place with amazing garden. Super breakfast.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: A quaint old French house. Beautiful garden. The lady owner was extremely helpful and looked after us very well.
Cons: Nothing really, other than it needed a longer stay to appreciate it and the area more
7.0 Good
Pros: Gardens are nice. And they were very welcoming to our dog. They are very kind people. And it is very clean.
Cons: Very very cold. Room not heated on cold October night! And breakfast croissants tasted stale which was disappointing after our previous nights dinner experience. The town is completely shut on a Monday night. That is not unusual in France. But the only place for dinner was a pizza place that refused to serve us outside and refused to have a dog inside. They said no takeaways until 9.30 although several locals were picking up as we spoke to them. Our hostess seemed unaware of what was available and recommended places that locals should have known are not.open. Overall we would not return to this town but the b&b is more than acceptable place to stay if you are visiting.

Pros: Friendly staff, comfy bed, good room. Good cenntral location. Lovely food if a little pricey.
Cons: No private carpark. Had to use a public carpark over the road. Not far, but no security.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect for the purpose of our stay- exploring Salies. We traveled out of season so it was a little quiet. The restaurant food was nice but lacked a bit of atmosphere. Perhaps just needed some background music or something. Rooms clean and had all we needed. Easy walking distance to town and easy parking opposite.
6.3 Good
Pros: Didn’t stay long enough as it was just somewhere to get some sleep
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was lovely
Cons: Cracked tiles on floor
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was very comfortable, the room was very clean. It was great to have a bath. The staff were very helpful and accommodating.
Cons: It would have been great to have tea or coffee making facilities in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a find! In it’s heyday The Hotel du Parc must have been a very expensive top class destination, even now it is a real pleasure to stay. The style is colonial, one can imagine lines of charabancs unloading well heeled gentry, we loved it here. The evening meal was excellent as was the breakfast, the location is perfectly central for the small but beautiful town of Salies-de-Béarn, there is a spa/healing centre adjacent which is well known, although we were only staying one night passing through and didn’t have time to use it.
Cons: Nothing, this was one of the most pleasurable stays we have had in years and will definitely return when possible.
7.5 Good
Pros: The room was spacious and they welcomed our dogs
Cons: The dinner was very tasty but tepid. We asked for it to be warmed up. It it came back still only warm not hot as it should have been.

Pros: Really fun vacation hotel. Lot's of things to do onsite at the property. Kids played ping pong, swam in the pool and played in the park. We hung at the pool bar late into the evening. Close to town and it's a nice walk into the city center.
4.3 Okay
Cons: The elevator reeked of urine. The hotel decor was reminiscent of an old folks home. The pool opening and closing hours were very inconvenient.
7.5 Good
Pros: Loved the interns who were working in all departments. I appreciate this chain helping motivated young people from developing countries achieve their goals. Hot tub and pool were perfect. Sunday dinner salty rabbit was very good, but the Chef's special Sunday Fish Soup was superb.
Cons: We thought we'd be staying in the historic building in their pictures, but we didn't. Didn't like that. Room was not available till 5 and checkout at 10. It felt like a 1/2 day stay. The room was hot and stuffy with no air movement. Fans are needed. A top sheet would be nice for those stuffy evenings. Hours for the bar and pool were too short.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Pleasant hotel with secluded location, but near town. Off road parking.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant atmosphere, lovely pool.
Cons: Nothing
