I liked the location, cleanliness, and that there is a restaurant/bar on site. The airport shuttle is a plus.
The shuttle services only takes you to the airport, the restaurant/bar is expensive, and the layout is confusing if you stay in building 6. To get to building 6 you have to go up stairs unless you can park in the parking garage.the doors have gaps under them so small critters can get underneath.
Location was great
This is a beautiful Hotel above San diego's Old Town with rooms in different buildings set on the hill, The look is old Spanish style with open patios and fountains and an amazing view all the way to the bay. There is a very good Mexican restaurant on the premises with breakfast included that is much better than your average included breakfast. The staff was courteous and helpful and they seemed to like working there. I was there 4 days on business and very much enjoyed my stay.
The only issue might be for those who are challenged with stairs.
The View and the Restaraunt
Some of the staff were less than gracious, but not too bad.
Everyone from the belmen that picked us up at the airport till the moment we checked out fantastic. The breakfast buffet was a wonderful way to start your day before sit seeing San Deagio. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.
My only con was the rooms were still dated and I would like to see them more updated.
Unique design, vaulted ceilings make the space feel open, great location to explore Old Town for a day, check in staff was friendly and helpful., reasonable rate.
Rooms can be noisy, there are tables outside the rooms and a loud group was seated right outside our room till after 1:30am. Check out staff was not friendly or helpful. Restaurant wasn't great.
Stepping out door to the outdoors was refreshing as compared to other hotels that open to a hallway. Clean, friendly staff, convenient location
Nice clean hotel with great views and short walking distance to lots of restaurants/shopping. Quick drive to Coronado Island or Mission Bay.
Parking can be challenging.
We had a great time at the BestWestern I will stay there again not only for 2 days but for a while week,I will recommend it to all my friends & family.
Room was clean and the staff was great.
I had requested a room with a view but instead my view was of parking lot.
The outdated Decour. Did not like the complementary breakfast.
I loved the location and the rooms were very nice!
I loved the proximity of the hotel to Old Town San Diego.
The people at the front desk were always in an awful mood. The girl at check in was very rude and did not make us feel welcomed at all. Also $14 a night for parking? No thank you!
The staff was welcoming and friendly, but that could not make up for the distance and elevation from the front desk to the upper, back rooms of the property. No good way to drive close so we were forced to trek up several flights of stairs with heavy suitcases. There was no help offered. Even the free margaritas will not bring me back.
