No beach, very old. Room small
great food. great pool. great view. great location
no spa services
Villa was awesome, clean and stocked accordingly. Amazing view of La Jolla Cove. The pool was quaint with comfy loungers. Staff was super accommodating, nice, attentive. The service at the Med was on point. Room service was terrific and quick!
The ONLY thing I would suggest is the in room coffee... the French roast selection is terrible. We ordered coffee to the room (MUCH better) or went to Starbucks down the street.
Beautiful historic property . Great location for walking around town and going to the cove.
Air conditioning in room was very loud and annoying. People saved loungers by the pool and then didn’t use them
Escape the ordinary at San Diego Hotels’ La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla. The Mediterranean retreat overlooks La Jolla Cove and wears its dramatic history that dates back to its opening in 1926. The Pink Lady of La Jolla survived through the Depression and World War II before being acquired by La Valencia and becoming a hideaway for names like Gregory Peck and Charlton Heston.
The lavish lifestyle of the hotel’s early years is captured in the Vintage, Classic, Villa, and ICON Collection accommodations. From chic comforts that embody the spirit of La Valencia’s history to the panoramic views of La Jolla Cove and lush gardens, there is something for all travelers at this Southern California retreat.
The glamour of Hollywood is captured in each room through deluxe amenities including a flatscreen TV, imported linens, Euro-style bathrooms, branded robes, dual shower heads, mini-bar, and complimentary WiFi. The extravagance continues with the hotel’s signature spa and Mediterranean essential oils, mineral-inspired treatments, and calming lounge with fireplace. Just outside the spa are the hotel’s freshwater pool and saltwater spa that look out onto the Pacific.
La Valencia hotel is conveniently located 20 minutes from San Diego International Airport and is a short drive away from Torrey Pines Golf Course, Del Mar Racetrack, and Fairgrounds and the heart of the city. Along with getting a taste of the high life, guests can enjoy a relaxing walk along the shore with nearby access to beaches.
La Valencia immerses its guests in an opulent lifestyle on the outskirts of San Diego along the sandy shores of Southern California.
