Pros. Room was clean. Had two beds as requested. "Vintage" decor could be interesting? Beds were comfortable enough.
Cons. Had booked this room by mistake, called within 10 minutes, they refused to refund. Hotel is on Market, sketchy as Heck, (and I lived in SF for six years a decade ago,) people smoking pot right by the front door. Manager was just like, "well, its legal now". Asked for a quiet room, was given 2nd floor facing Market street where music was blasting until 1:30 am, then noise began again early in the AM. Being able to sleep is kind of the most important part of getting a room. TV only got a couple of blurry channels. For some reason my iphone refused to connect to the wi-fi, but my wife's older phone and my son's Kindle could, probably not the hotel's fault. Breakfast was the cheapest donuts possible (1 per customer) and really bad coffee. Better than nothing?
Pros. location but not very safe to walk around the streets
Cons. not well maintained ... not worth the money
Cons. They didn't clean my room even when I left on the knock-door the note
Cons. It's a place for homeless people
Pros. Location, and the staff was friendly. There was a slight problem with my reservation and the staff was pretty helpful to fix it.
Cons. Shared bathroom, which is REALLY small (only shower, no sink), you have a separate toilet, which is shitty as well, and a small sink in your room. Two separate faucets, and ry uncomfortable. We were four guys is a double bed room. Really tiny, no room for luggage, small beds. It's an OK place if you're staying for one, maximum two nights. Otherwise most definitely find something with at least a private bathroom, despite the slightly higher price.
Pros. I stayed here for the Dreamforce Conference for a week. The beds were alright. That's about where the compliments stop.
Cons. They explained that I was expected to leave my hotel room key at the front desk every time I left, which I found to be odd. When I came back for the key in the evening, all I needed to say was my room number, and they just handed the key over without verifying my identity (I didn't even give my name). One time, I forgot the key in my room when I locked the handle. I went down to the desk and they handed over the entire master key ring (which works on every door in the building) for me to retrieve my key. NOT OK!! The shower closet, which was shared by the entire floor had a tiny shower stall and felt like standing under a garden hose. The window would not lock, nor would the deadbolt, but at this point my expectations were so low I didn't even bother wasting my time to report it. There were bugs in the room. Oh, and on my way out of the hotel the last morning to catch my early flight, the building was locked from the inside with no way to unlock it without a key - good thing the building never caught on fire. I could not recommend this hotel even to an enemy.
Pros. If you don't mind a hotel with bathrooms and showers down the hall, this place will work for you.
Cons. I travel a lot, so am not used to seeing bugs in a room. Strange policy to turn in keys to the front desk when you go out actually puts hotel employees and others in lobby on notice that you are gone and room is empty which is a bad idea. the neighborhood is on the edge of the Tenderloin, so a lot of street people outside the hotel.
Pros. the location was great
Cons. Staff was slow, incompetent, and unaccommodating. The rules for the hotel were ridiculous. No guests allowed, or a $30 charge for ONE guest every night. You must leave your keys with the front desk every time you leave the hotel. They ran up my total, then when I asked for an itemized receipt, they charged me $5 more because they had totaled it wrong. It also took almost half an hour to get the itemized receipt because some slow idiot was making a half-assed word document from scratch for it. Also the room was tiny, dirty, and the bathroom and shower are seperate closests shared by the entire floor. Don't stay here.
Pros. Great location, great staff, very clean hotel. My mother and I had a lot of fun and thank you guys for the donuts and coffee.
Pros. Love everything
