Pros: Best cottage I've ever been to! 2 mins walk to the main beach and there are couple more beaches around the area. Very relaxing. The cottage, paul(owner) place and a total relaxation was more that I expect. Also, there are lots of stores near by like Walmart, Canadian tire, shoppers drug mart, grocery stores and local stores. This is now my new favourite place to be.
Pros: The location and price were perfect for our mini family getaway. Paul and Deandra were kind, helpful and very gracious hosts. Each cabin has its own BBQ, fire pit and parking space. The cabins are very tidy, child friendly and looked exactly like the pictures. We would definitely recommend The Maples and hope to stay here again in the future.

Welcome to your bright room on the main street of Southampton, Ontario. King size bed, luxurious linens, soft and comfy chairs make this room a nice retreat from the beach. The sand and swimming are just a 5 minute walk down the street next to our flag. This 345 square foot space is all about comfort and brightness for a couple. The bedroom has a king size bed and furnishings by Stanley. Your bathroom is large and comfortable with a bath/shower combination. If you feel you really need to stay connected to the outside world, free Wifi and Netflix are there to help you. You will have your own bathroom, below counter fridge, room sink and all the amenities by Lord and Mayfair found in the best hotels. We'll be glad to help make you visit enjoyable. However, you will be a phone call away from staff at night. While in Southampton, enjoy our beach, gaze at the flag, walk the shore and explore the market. There are several great restaurants in town. (Our favourites are on our website.) Ladies there are eight places in town that cater to your clothing desires, come and shop! Your car will be at the back of our building at night. There is lots of free parking in town but no public transit only taxis. This room is above a rural Ontario retail store. Sadly, there is no elevator. We'll gladly help with your luggage but you have to be able to climb 20 steps to get to your room. We set up this room to act as a refuge from your daily routine. We have done everything possible to ensure exclusion from outside noise. That being said, we would ask that you keep other guests' comfort in mind by being as quiet as possible after 11 pm. There is absolutely no smoking on the premises should you decide to ignore this request, a $200 charge will to your bill.
Pros: the personal touch given by the owner. The excellent ambiance and services of the facility. The location in mid town shopping district and yet short walking distance to the amazing beach.
Cons: The rooms are are on the second floor which requires a stair clime to reach. As we are somewhat elderly we thought that this might be a problem but it worked out to be excellent exercise.
Pros: Everything !!!! It was amazing
Pros: All the amenities are top-notch. Location is ideal. When we return we will go straight there!
Pros: Everything! From the contents in the fridge to the comfy bed, 173 High Street lived up to, and beyond, our expectations. Paul was a very welcoming host, and nothing was too much trouble. I wish I could give it 11 out of 10
Cons: Nothing! Maybe that we should have stayed longer!
Pros: We felt welcome before e en arriving, the owner was so helpful and welcomed us upon arrival. It felt like home we had the most relaxing amazing stay! WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND !
Cons: If I had to say one negative thing the air unit was a little noisy.
Pros: The bed was supreme, the sheets so smooth you felt like you were floating. The decor was modern and very soothing. I normally like clutter...but this was great and the whole ambiance was perfect. pictures on the walls were great and suited the place. I was worried about the breakfast which I thought was on site... it is a voucher for a restaurant a few doors down. It looked greasy spoon, but oh boy it was not. I had the best Eggs Benedict I've ever had there. had the same the next morning as well! very good food and very popular. It was fun to be right on the High Street and a short walk to the beach front with glorious sunsets. terrific location.
Cons: Everything was perfect. There are a fairly steep flight of steps so if mobility challenged this would be a problem. We enjoyed the exercise :) the t.v. has a very modern remote. If you want to turn sound down the volume switch is actually also a toggle. We enjoyed the music .. the t.v. only gets netflicks we don't do t.v. so not a problem for us, but if you are sports nut, say, you won't get TSN.
Pros: Located right downtown Southampton, a short walk to everything. Our room was huge, looked very recently renovated and had a super-comfortable bed. There is a huge new back deck that's great for afternoon lounging. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. Miles above any other places to stay in Southampton.
Cons: Just a warning to those with mobility issues, there's a tall, steep set of stairs leading up to the rooms.
Pros: Paul is a very accommodating host. The suite he provided was beautiful, comfortable and incredibly clean. The bed in particular was crazy comfortable. My significant other who never gets a full nights sleep slept uninterrupted for a full 8 hrs. We also loved the little touches provided. There was fresh milk and cream for our coffee and a delicious bottle of wine was provided for us. Even some bottles of water and breakfast vouchers provided for a nice little breakfast spot located a 30 sec walk away from the hotel. We couldn't have asked for a more pleasant and thoughtful stay. The location of this suite can't be beat either. Its literally a 1-2 minute walk away from most restaurants and cafes and about a 4 minute walk from the beach. My significant other and I loved our stay and will definitely be back next Summer.
Cons: The stairs leading up to the suite are quite steep so fine for younger people but probably not suitable for elderly or children. The stairs also creak quite a bit and this can be heard inside the suites. While this noise didn't bother us, it might bother other people who are sentitive to sounds while sleeping. Just step lightly in order to be mindful of anyone else staying there. People from the city should also be aware that most restaurants in South Hampton close around 9PM. Some open until latest 11PM. Most offer takeout if you ask, and there is no food delivery.
Pros: Excellent location, clean and specious place, nice host
Pros: This small boutique accommodation was delightful -- on the main street of Southampton and within walking distance of all attractions.
Cons: There were 20 stairs from the front door up to the rooms: not an impediment for us, but it might be for some.
With a stay at Windspire Inn in Saugeen Shores, you'll be within a 5-minute walk of Lake Huron and Port Elgin Beach. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and coffee/tea in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The location was within walking distance of restaurants and beach.
Pros: The location, breakfast room, garden in the back.
Cons: The room had the bath tub and the shower IN THE ROOM WITH A PLASTIC CURTAIN, the bottom piece of ventilation fan was hanging by two electrical wires, AC was in the window and LOUD, room was the size of a small walk-in-closet, the man at the reception told me , when asked if I can have some ice, " I have ice but I can't give it to you because you may get sick", did I land in Cuba ? and the toilet blocked, which they did fix when told.
Pros: Location is excellent - close to downtown and a brief 5 minute walk to the beach. Continental breakfast was excellent - coffee or tea, bagels, bread, choice of cereals, freshly cooked hard-boiled eggs(still warm), yogurts, juice and fruit. Use of a guest frig to store food, use of bbq.
Cons: Room was on the small size, but adequate for our needs.
Pros: Quietness and quaintness. Staff was more than accommodating.
Cons: Could have had more items for a hot breakfast. (Waffles, scrambled eggs.)
Pros: Location to the beach was the only good thing about this property Person who checked us in was nice but not very knowledgeable.
Cons: Room was cramped, dated and bed was uncomfortable. Breakfast was a serve yourself mess with horrible food selection...all sugary cereals, bread left out in bags that were open, no fruit available. We had to ask for yogurt
Pros: Cute property and very clean. Lots of seating areas in and out for a relaxing glass of wine!
Cons: Bathtub in the bedroom is a little odd, a walk in shower might be a better idea.
Pros: location is walking distance to the beach. The breakfast was simple but perfect for what we wanted. They provided cereals, toast, boiled eggs and fruit. Enough to get you started. A nice touch was that they provided bottled water and pop at no additional cost. The rooms are small but the property has lots of common spaces for you to relax in and stretch out.
Pros: Owners were fabulous
Pros: Staff very helpful with our check in & check out. New owners, plans for further upgrades over the winter. Great hot water, nice thick bathroom towels. Fair, self serve continental breakfast, all you need to start your day.
Cons: Could have better quality sheets on the beds. Sheets were fine, just not a good quality.
Pros: Good breakfast and ideally located near the beach.
Cons: The air con was noisy and either too cold or useless.

Pros: Coffee bar, the paper. The pool and hot tub was nice. Friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant on site.Comfortable rooms.
Cons: Nothing, really.
Cons: Bed was not that comfy. Everything else okay.
Pros: The room is ok, clean and updated
Cons: The people from other rooms talked loud loud till 2 in the morning. Called front desk from 11pm, and again and again finally they scattered back to their room 2 in the morning .those guests had no respect to other people at all. Started 8 in morning don’t know what kind of creature they are doesn’t seem they need to sleep. I barely got any sleep , the purpose to get a room is I can have rest then drive back . It’s horrible and almost fell sleep when drove home
Pros: The staff were peasant and curious. The owner was exceptional, and helpful!!! We would recommend this place to anyone. If you are looking for the best bang for your buck then this is the place. You are only 25 minutes from suabal beach ont. Excellent budget hotel!!
Cons: The only real downside was not having a continental breakfast included.
Pros: The property was in a great location. Staff were all very nice and friendly also. Bed was comfortable also.
Cons: Property is very old and outdated. The pool was very dirty, so I did not swim in it. Trying to watch TV, the picture is zoomed in too much, so you can’t even watch any programs properly. The room had a musty smell to it, there were ants (or some sort of small crawling bug) on the dresser/desk, and despite us never opening a window, there was flies in the room. For $185 per night, not worth the value at all.
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful and the pool was clean and good temperature. Breakfast was good and the waitress was great.
Pros: Extremely clean and right across the street from Giant Tiger and LCBO and Walmart down the street. Not far from the beach and markets.
Cons: The breakfast was cheap but honestly not that tasty.
Pros: Outside grounds are not appealing, curb appeal is not good, rooms are fine , get new comforter's
Cons: Cleaning products are have a unpleasant smell
Pros: When we needed something fixed (the television) some one came right away
Cons: A continental breakfast would have been nice. Most places have them now. The pool was in another building. It was okay because we stayed there in the warm weather, but I can't imagine what it would be like in the winter.
Pros: Check in was smooth & the staff was friendly.. the room was basic, but fine. The bed was firm, but comfy.. personal preference.. I like a firmer mattress. There was a fridge & microwave.. always a welcome plus! There were guests in the rooms on either side, couldn’t hear anything.. that was really nice. The attached cafe was convenient & the wait staff was friendly & accommodating. Our breakfast selections were great! They also serve lunch but we did not have lunch there during our stay.
Cons: While the bathroom seemed to have been recently updated, they didn’t have any door hooks for towels. Also, an exhaust fan is a must.. very hot & steamy. We were unable to open the bathroom window. A suitcase rack would have been a nice touch too.. I don’t like to store my suitcases on the floor. The air conditioner unit was very loud, some people find that bothersome. There was a spot of dried (what looked like) blood on the underside of the dated comforter.
Pros: That it was in Port Elgin
Cons: Except for our first day, the front desk staff weren't overly friendly. Bed was hard as a rock. Pillows too soft. Remote dvd control didn't work. Just not the same since new owners took over.

With a stay at Stop 21 Motel in Saugeen Shores, you'll be steps from Lake Huron and Georgian Bay. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Room was clean , AC and Fridge working well . The restaurant on the property is worth checking out , good food and reasonable prices. Great location 2 min to Tim Horton and 5 min to Downtown Southampton .
Cons: We had two separate bedrooms and the mattress in the second one was not very comfortable , the washrooms facilities , specially shower not working very well.
Pros: good space
Cons: no reception
Pros: Everything was nice n clean. Very cozy place. I love that is family owned!
Cons: Dirty and dark.the linen was stinky.we left it at 3 A.m because we couldnt sleep there.the food we purchased from the restaurant was terrible. Waste of money.
Cons: Location was not great. The units are very old but kept fairly clean. Only 2 other units were occupied and there were strange comings and goings all night long in the unit next to mine. Ordered from restaurant and it was gross. The sweet and sour chicken looked like it was run through a washing machine. Threw most of it in the trash.
Pros: Clean Overall Good Price
Pros: Staff did not check regularly if we needed personal higine stuff. We had to go fetch the toilet paper and garbage bags.
Pros: Bed was comfy and accessories were as advised while booking
Cons: Needs to be refreshed
Cons: Perfect for family with kids... staff responded without delay ... very close to the beach. Couldn't ask for more. Wifi was very poor and washroom could be just a little tidy. Overall was good indeed
Pros: Access to my Netflix and aircon.
Cons: New linen is needed desperately. Bed protectors were taped together
With a stay at Manor Motel in Saugeen Shores, just steps from Lake Huron and Georgian Bay. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Great location, clean.
Cons: Not enough parking
Pros: Near to everything
Pros: Staff was polite. Nice pool and comfortable bed. TV and WiFi and Mini fridge.
Cons: No space to sit on toilet in one of the bathrooms Needed dusting of ceiling (cobwebs) and curtain rods. The toilet needed cleaning (stained) in the other room.
Pros: The location is perfect. Tim hortons and restaurants and gas station is right beside the motel.
Cons: The washroom is very conjusted. The bath tub is very small only a child can take bath in that tub. Room was okay. No service.
Pros: We weren’t expecting five star, so it met our expectations!
Cons: Pillows, or choice of pillows would have been nice.
Pros: Bed was comfy and large and clean
Cons: The AC was on the floor. Not a window unit.
Pros: Love the comfort and cleanliness here and its always the same. The Chinese family that owns this place is unbelievably friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.
Cons: No dislikes here.
Cons: Everything! Dirty, disgusting! Smells. Had to call office to get converters for tv. 1 hr wait. Watched maid remake the bed after check out, sweeps the floor with broom, no vacuum, cleans bathroom with used towels we left in tub, used! I forgot my phone and had to go back 10 minutes after check out.
Pros: No breakfast available with this package Good location
Cons: Motel is older, and could a little "freshening up" would have made the room we were in, a little more attractive. However, this was far outweighed by the positive feelings we had about the motel
