We also didn't have bath robes as I read before booking. I was deciding between 2 places at the same price and went with the one with fluffy bathrobes and breakfast... and didn't get either. Pros (+) The house is a period piece, and that is fun. We enjoyed the room access to the patio, the gas fireplace in our room, and the historic structure - tall ceilings, big windows, exposed brick. Also, the tea&pastries and wine&appetizers were delicious! It's hard not to eat so much you find yourself wondering why you have that dinner reservation. The food is wonderful, and it is a very nice opportunity...
Cons (-) A couple of little things. The background music - ok, I've been called a musical snob more than once. But string quartets, Bach or traditional holiday music would seem more inline with the genteel ambience than Alvan and the Chipmunks singing carols.
