The staff were rude and really unhelpful. No-one around the pool bar to serve drinks. Got charged the wrong price when checking out and the staff never apologised and it took them 30 minutes to sort out!
I liked the location in the town also it's convienence to Verona the standard of accommodation was good I would stay here again The quality of breakfeast was poor
Superb position on lakeside and lots of small shops and alley ways to explore. Easy access to other lakeside villages via inexpensive and comfortable boat service. Would avoid peak holiday time as it would be very busy and not so enjoyable. Best ice cream parlours (and so many) for a small village. Comfortable rooms. Helpful staff. Good value for money. Overall an enjoyable experience. Might try the spa next time though it looked a little pricey. If you dont book half board, the restaurant is really out of bounds. The 50 euro per person set menu was too much for us in terms of the amount of food and a deterrent to occasional diners but maybe that is the policy of the hotel. We were advised there was no a la carte menu. The lighting in the restaurant was very bright and a bit clinical. Candles would have improved the ambiance but there are many excellent restaurants of varying price within easy walking distance of the hotel, so eating out was not a problem. There are many room grades and it is not easy to select what is right for you. We would have liked a balcony. Take a mosquito deterrent with you and dont open the windows when you have lights on at night
Excellent hotel. Clean and luxurious.Good facilities Staff unfriendly and unhelpful. Took one hour to get bags to room! Supposed to get complimentary mini bar then refused because we had only booked a "comfort room"
The setting/location is sensational. My car was not parked by the staff on check in as promised. I got a 38 Euro parking ticket that I do not know how to pay since I am back in Canada. he staff was completely rude and not willing to help.
view of lake tired and old in many respects. no wifi in rooms
The location is wonderful, the area has alot to offer Too noisy and smelled of sulfur in the room.
We have been in this hotel many times. We are always return back to this hotel 3 or 4 times per year. Nice swimming pool, nice place. Thank you.
Beautiful situation in the old town
The location was very convienant to the harbour and for sight seeing
As well as being very well looked after, the staff worked hard to make sure our stay was without any hitch.
It was totally relaxing. Mainly older guests. No children.. Very friendly and helpful staff especially at the reception and pool.
View from the room.
The location of the hotel was ideal, directly on the lake and free parking for hotel guests, as well as free minibar The receptionist (Barbara) put us into a inferior room to the one we had booked and was extremely reluctant to change it - the remainder of the hotel staff were good.
old fashioned but wiyout any special cachet
The exellent location -very close to historical Sirmione, very very beatiful view, thermal pool, not many people, polite and professional staff ... I have great pleasure stayed at this hotel 2 times and i am planing to stay there again.. very convenient to combine business trip to Milan with 2-3 days relaxing on the lake Garda Nothing
Our favorite hotel in the World to date. Wonderful location, room, food, staff. Quiet swimming pool. Wonderful tables for breakfast and dinner, right by the lake. Peaceful. Free minibar and parking. Wonderful town to explore. Food fantastic with good range of local ingredients and wines. Can't wait to go back. Shame it is such a long drive from the UK! ;-)
i loved everything the parking place, which outside of the old city
Good value for money The rooms with the best position (overlooking the lake) were not the best fitted out - seems illogical & the Hotel will be losing out on its room rate because of this.
Great view of the lake and good central location within the town. Room and bathroom was large and clean.
the view on the lake badly functioning facilities
We loved the lake view room ,The decor was really nice and the room itself was warm which was needed as it was the end of november. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
Breakfast was good The bath was too narrow. We were dissappointed with the quality of the room as we paid for a "superior" room. It was small and very basic. The hotel staff said that the only difference between the standard and superior was that superior had a fridge. I would expect all rooms in a 4* hotel to have a fridge.
This is a lovely hotel in a great setting. Ask for a room overlokking th lake. Good breakfast too. Very good value for money.
Lake view room was superb and the location is ideal.
no shower, no lake view which i requested and poor selection for breakfast, the egg machine took to long (about 15 mins to boil an egg)
Very tranquil, relaxing and intimate setting. Close to historic centre. Hotel location makes it challenging to reach by car as it means driving through busy and narrow pedestrian streets.
The staff and the hotel were both excellent and the location was ideal, being in a quieter part of Sirmione, yet only 5 minutes walk from the centre.Service was both polite and friendly and the rooms were always spotless. The food was good and the wine list extensive, though a little on the expensive side.No complaints No
very pleasant staff the breakfast was very limited in choice
location just outside the hustle and bustle Though is was overpriced
The scenery at Lake Garda was stunning the drive to the hotel was not easy. You have to drive through a heavily pedestrianised area to get to the hotel
Very peaceful and excellent service
Friendliness of staff, nice rooom (although not truly a suite), great location and view
the welcoming of the staff and the design of the hotel
within the walls of an old medieval town but away from all the noise left with several mosquito btes.i
Breakfast, friendly personal Air Condition
location is excellent.staff very helpful
The location of the hotel, inside the old town, on the waterfront
Wonderful view of the bay Parking is difficult
The Hotel Eden is in an excellent location right next to the ferry port and with easy access to the restraunts and shops. The Breakfast was fantastic. The walls were very thin and the decor dated.
The location of the hotel is very good The room is small
Location. Staff were friendly. There are no facilities apart from breakfast. The restaurant attached runs as a seperate establishment and it's not always possible to get a table. The room was hot with no view. Evening maid service was sporadic.
We like hotels location, staff, comfort, food. Everything was great.
Very good location, and parking (if you travel by car)
Staff were attentive and helpfull. The breakfasts were very good, much more than average "continental". The steeing of the hotel was wonderfull - couldn't have been nearer to the lake! There was no wireless internet connection at all in the hotel. The rooms did not have drink making facilities.
Very convenient--within the walls, just by the castle, and it's right near the boat to other towns on Lake Garda. Nothing! It was great.
Room was ok. The attitude of the staff was extremely unfriendly and at times very rude. So much so that we cut short our stay from 7 nights to 2! The elderly lady who appeared to be in charge seemed to be looking for an excuse to criticise and remostrate with the guests. Breakfast was poor accompanied by poor service. Terrible, absolutely terrible. Aircon in room did not work properly. There was a power cut one night, when this was reported to staff they intimated it was our fault ? they then pointed out that there was a power cut to every room in the hotel - this was not right - all other rooms had their lights on ?
The location was very nice to watch the sunset over lake Garda. This hotel is not a 4* hotel as advertised on bookings.com and also claimed by the hotel. The hotels staff were very rude on arrival and there was certainly no 'service with a smile' as you would expect from a 4* hotel. The decor of the hotel was also very dated.
The views are amazing. Pool lovely though cold. Once there good location to explore Sirmione. Good selection of eating places. Very friendly English speaking receptionist. Very quiet, no lack of space by pool etc. The drive through the castle and narrow streets is a bit daunting and would be anoying if you wanted to drive out regularly. Pillows very hard but were changed on request. No one eats in the hotel lunch or evening which is a shame as reduces the atmosphere. Very quiet.
Great location with wonderful lake view, very friendy staff, very clean room, cleaned twice a day, great coffee for breakfast. Very quite. great swimming pool. The room was not spacious enough for 4 ppl, there was no fridge in the room, but brought on request. Breakfast was ok: cold buffet ok for short stay but not for 8 days, missing hot dishes and vegatables.
The staff were freindly and helpful.the hotel was very clean and had all the basic hotel facilities. The swimming pool and poolside area were lovely to relax by. The hotel is located beside a stunning viewing point. The breakfast had a poor selection and there were many many wasps in the fruit salad.
It is the furthest hotel out on the peninsula, so you have a nice view of the lake and olive grooves from the balcony without too many buildings in the way. There was a fan noice at daytime, thankfully not at night, possibly from a restaurant, that was irritating and sounded like being in a boat. To get to hotels in sirmione by car you need to navigate through the narrow old town treets filled with pedestrians. Cars are not allowed to drive 21 - 23. In hindsight would recomend people to take a nice B&B in some litle village, and just visit Sirmione for an hour or so.
The staff The breakfast was very poor there was no eggs ...
Very friendly staff and clean rooms. Very accomodating to special wishes. Good service. Excellent and relaxing outdoor area for sitting, swimming, cocktails, etc. The staff was great with our children and our lingustic deficiencies. The air conditioning was not functioning and the rooms were simply too hot (this was remedied during our stay). The breakfast (included) was a bit sparse.
Beautiful hotel gardens and pool with fantastic views over the lake.
We stayed in a junior suite which on the whole was very nice. The gourmet restaurant was very good, if expensive. The hotel was very peaceful and staff very friendly. Main drawback was the bed being hard and uncomfortable which we were not expecting from a luxury hotel. The bathroom was large with both a shower and a bath, but only one sink so you could not both get ready together which I might have expected from a junior suite. Be careful that this hotel is on the top of a steep hill which may be difficult for some people to access.
Hotel setting and grounds beautiful. Staff very helpful and friendly.
We liked the Concierge, the grounds, the history, the natural beauty, location, The hotel was rundown, antiquated infrastructure ( not 5 Star!!!) -plumbing, electrical, telephone, .. This does deserve a five star rating based on services and facilities. It has a very depressing feel to it as though it was an dowdy relic of the past not suited to modern travelers'needs.
Fantastic garden and situation of the property outside on Sirmione
Lovely hotel with first class location. a real experience.
Access to the hotel is difficult with many pedestrians on your way
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Very helpful staff at reception desk. Wonderful location overlooking Lake Garda and just a few minutes walk into the hustle and bustle of Sirmione. A lovely place to stay. Can't understand all the complaints on Booking.com about the sparrows - it's not hard to share a crumb or two with them! Personally, we found women/men walking round the hotel carrying their lap dogs more of a concern !!
Position was fantastic. staff very attentive. Good food. Walls slightly too thin. Can hear noisy neighbours at night
Very nice room, beautiful lake and mountain view, the staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful but not intrusive.
Lovely, friendly staff and so helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and the breakfasts were fantastic! The rooms were nice although maybe a little bland!
Everything was wonderfull, magical hotel in the most beutifull town.
We really enjoyed our time at the Hotel Continental. The location was great a 2 minute walk to the town. So not as noisey as the hotels in the centre. The service and staff were friendly and very helpful. Would go back again.
The hotel staff were absolutely fantastic and more than helpful. I am coeliac and had brought food for my breakfast and they were very happy to prepare this every morning for me. The pool area and loungers and view of the lake from the sitting out area was beautiful. We really had a relaxing stay. The only thing was the drinks in the hotel were a bit expensive but we partly guessed that they would be as we were not booking it as a backpackers stopover.
This is surely not a 4 star hotel by any standard.Furniture a bit out-dated, hotel could need a freshing-up though. Lake view only from the top floor. It was difficult to drive through the pedestrian zone !
Set in an amazing location, through the busselling, winding, narrow medieval streets of the old town. Lake Garda two minutes walk together with the restaurants, shops and ice cream parlours of old Sirmione. Hotel staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The Hotel decor is a little tired and could do with some new decoration.
The crew was really kind to us.
The location in the middle of the citadel, very romantic surroundings, nice swimming pool. The room was quite small and the furniture quite old (old like in degraded, not vintage).
Very traditional hotel, old fashioned in positive way, excellent staff, it felt like going back to sixties, very refreshing experience, outstanding location
The breakfast, the very nice and helpful receptionist, the room's terrace The inadequate four star standard, the uncomfortable and awkward bathroom, the shabby decor of the room. Total makeover with regard to hotel rooms and other parts of the hotel interior is needed.
perfect location! staff is nice and tries to help, parking space available
Location... and only this does not make a hotel 4 star EVERYTHING, more precisely is the unfriendly staff on breakfast, The hotel is NOT a 4 star hotel, The price is not clear.and ended up paying more than the internet booked price..
Its central location in Sirmione The hotel lobby was "tired", to use a current expression and detracted from the general appearance of the hotel. The hotel had a bar and restaurant but they were generally empty/unused.
The staff were very friendly and helpful In need of some TLC
Good variety for breakfast. It was nice to have a pool although it was nothing special. Location was good. The room, particularly the bathroom desparately needed modernising. The quality of the furnishings and bathroom equipment was very cheap and it was like something from the 1960s. The bathroom was also tiny. I could not use my own hairdryer as when I did it tripped the electricity! The staff were also on the whole really grumpy and unfriendly with the exception of one or two people. In general I would not recommend this hotel and it certainly was not a 3*!
the staff couldnt be nicer very helpful in all the departments. the siting and dining areas were beautifully done out. I would like ro have had tea making facilities in the room
I highly recommend the hotel. We stayed for 3 nights. The hotel is small and rather charming; the non-suite rooms are in pastel colours - there is some charm in it. The service is professional and kind.We found the price to be good value for money.
The hotel location is good, easy walking distance to the old town. The reception staff were not very friendly, the room was small and not clean. We asked for an iron, which took forever to find, there was no ironing board. The iron was very old and the lead had been repaired 4 times and was held together with tape. I felt it was very expensive for a 3 star hotel, 95 euros per night.
Location good, staff very helpful.
The location was perfect, just a short walk into town. The management were great and couldnt help enough. The breakfast was well worth getting up for with an amazng view of the lake. The selection was excellent and hot breakfast cooked on request, will definately book again. Nothing
Very nice and plesant hotel. very kind staff
Fabulous hotel with marvelous garden and lovely swimming pool, amazing lake view and surrounding. It is on the short walk distance to the very nice Old town Sirmione. Buffet breakfast is delicious and stuff is very helpful. Shortly, this is probably the best 3-star hotel in the Europe! We will come again, for sure!
The location in Sirmione is perfect and the hotel grounds are beautiful. The rooms are a little dated with old furniture and some bizarre "artwork," but clean and somewhat charming. Overall the hotel is in good shape with a lovely pool area, nice private balconies and magnificent views of the lake. The breakfast was delicious. The owners. I think they have simply been in the business too long and forgotten customer service. They are rude and unfriendly. They should sell the place to someone who actually likes people. Despite the great location, facitilites, views, pool, etc., I would not return simply because there are other great hotels where the owners treat the guests like they are welcome and not a burden.
The nquiet, beautiful surroundings. the bright and cheery breakfat room,
This beautiful family hotel is in the old centre of Sirmione, with the free parking directly near by the hotel. The owners and staff are so pleasant, smilling, homy and friendly! So nice people! Gorgeous rooms have a lake view. Breakfasts are in the ground floor in a veranda and in a patio directly by the lake. Breakfast was excellent! Very big choice of food and drinks, fresh home-made cakes, everything was delicious! I really felt like at home. When we was leaving, they gave us their home-made cake, like a present. I really love this hotel and I can heartily recommend it! Thanks for all!
Hotel Marconi is set in a central location in the old town of Sirmione. It faces west onto Lake Garda with it's own smaill private desk. The room was clean and well presented, although not overly large. The buffet breakfast was excellent, with a good selection of choices, including an impresive selection of home made cakes and pastries. But the best part of the hotel is the staff. We had problems getting to the hotel, having got off at the wrong train stop and we left our booking and flight paperwork on the train. The receptionost was fantastic and very accomodating, helping us to straighten everything out. We really enjoyed our stay due to the staff and the good location.
The management and staff were wonderful. From suggestions about Lake Garda to thoughts on nearby restaurants. Simione is a lovely place to visit and this hotel was equally as lovely. It was the best breakfast of my 2 week stay in Italy. They go above and beyond for their guests.
nice quiet atmosphere no problems
excellant location in the city center, however room was off the street and there was alot of noise through out the entire night(s) bathroom had a urine smell that never went away
Most welcome greeting, helpful on information about the town. the view in the morning across the lake as the sun came up, just spectacular. only stayed one night
it was easy to find.it was very central.we loved the sun terrace.
Everyone was friendly and informative. Great location. Breakfast was fine.
Advice on special wines from the area from one girl in the staff. Otherwise the hotel was not as expected from the reviews on booking.com. Too little info on what to do in the area. Small and dark rooms, and noisy (from other rooms, water pipes and street). Room 11 had a bad smell at the bathroom too. No international TV. No minibar. No checkout before 9.00 a.m. if staff is not notified a day in advance. Checkout at 10.00 a.m at the latest.
The friendliness and ability of the staff, and their willingness to help in any way needed. The view from our room was breathtaking. Breakfasts were good and included everything anyone could need (unless they insisted on bacon and fried eggs). No comfortable chairs in room or lounge: there were two armchairs in the reception area, but we couldn't really occupy them for long. The shower cubicle was very small, and the presence of a bidet in the bathroom meant that toilet space was very cramped. The Booking.com site said there were airport transfers, but these were not straight from airport to hotel. We used public transport, but 'proper' transfers would have been preferable. The hotel helpfully offered to arrange some sort of transfer, but it would have been very expensive. As it was, public transport was relatively cheap and easy, but very lengthy, and worked for us because we were already familiar with the area.
Cleanliness of room, good sized shower cubicle and power of shower, friendliness of staff, closeness to the centre of Sirmione. Rubbish collection at 5-6 am every morning, noise form room adjacent and above (tv and chairs scraping on floor). Cannot blame the hotel for this and next time need earplugs!
The hotel is in the center of Sirmione, it is a nice, clean and pleasant place to stay. Vicinity of the church (next to it) is a problem, since it rings the bells every half an hour, and that can be annoying. So if you have planned to sleep late, forget it. Parking is a little bit far, about 10 minute walk, which is OK since the hotel is in the very center. Everything else is fine.
The hotel is perfectly located in the (pedestrian) center of Sirmione; it's wonderful. You can arrive with your car to drop/pick up your luggage. The parking (outside of the town) is free; you have only to walk 5 minutes in this wonderful city. The room is not good isolated against the noise. So we have been disturbed by the neighbours when they take their showers in the morning.
The staff were really helpful and friendly. The breakfast was really nice, lots of choice. The location was good, right by the edge of the lake, and located in the heart of the small town.
