The rate was high.
fill up the tank before returning !!! I got charged 130 euro for the empty tank (I rented a compact hybrid with a 9 gallon tank - approx 30 euro to fill it up)

Upon arriving in Milan Italy, we had to change our plans at the last minute, and went to the SIXT counter at the airport. I booked online while standing at the terminal and when we got there, it would’ve been a delay with the car I reserved. Fortunately, they were able to get us a better car at a similar price which was immediately available. The experience and service went above and beyond. Special thanks to Sara Faize who worked at making the process very easy and satisfying.. Sara gave us her contact information and followed up with emails throughout our stay. I would definitely recommend SIXT.
Cons:I did not like the return of the rental car at Milan Malpensa airport. There was no one at the return location. I had to leave the car in the return lot. I inspected the car and there was no damage. Then I had to walk to the car rental counter which was inside the terminal about 500 meters from the rental car drop off to leave the keys at the rental car counter. Five days later, I receive an email that the car had damage to the front bumper. If they had someone at the car rental drop off, then they would have seen that I returned the car with no damage. I do not know who used the car and damaged it after I returned it.
Pros:Nothing, from arrival, to seeing other customers' experiences to our own experience, this is no way of doing business.
Cons:The website needs some serious re-designing so that people can make changes to their reservations. Our entrance to the Linate airport was delayed by Passport Control own incompetence (3 officers for 2 flights will make you spend an extra hour and a half before you pick up your luggage). By the time we got to the car rental counter our car was gone and the only thing the could offer was another vehicle for an additional 200 Euros (same thing with the 2 couples ahead of us). We declined, took the train to Verona and rented a car in Verona from another company for a fraction of the price SIXT offered us. Treat customers like that consistency and you might be owned by HERTZ in the future. This is one to avoid in the future.
Cons:The agent at the counter was a 5 star fellow. I would hire home in a heart beat. Give him a raise and promotion.
Giulia was FANTASTIC. she was knowledgeable and gave me good advise on my trip. I think I had a better trip because of her. Also the gentleman who took the vehicle in return was very friendly. Because of them, I will absolutely rent with you again
Pros:Very nice customer service at airport.
Cons:The price jumped up to double what we originally rented it online for because they added the top insurance on the car. Because of this reason we will not rent again with Sixt. We had a Fiat 500 for one week and paid over 1000 euros when the price we agreed on was a little over $500 when we booked it in the US.
