All was good with the rental, only two real complaints. Firstly, we really didn’t need to rent a car in Copenhagen. Obviously that was on me. Second complaint was there was two garage entrances and we went into the wrong one so I had to pay to get out and go into the correct one. I feel it could have been explained to me.
Excellent car, great price. Terribly slow service on pick-up in Copenhagen, easy drop-off before hours in Aarhus.
Pro: The price was low and the people were great. Con: they need a much clearer set of directions to find the car pickup location in the nearby parking garage. I used the wrong door, and lost nearly an hour trying find my car. It drove even the employees crazy, since it wasnt where it should have been parked. This is temporary.
Unfriendly customer service, price falsely advertised
Pros:The car I received was as expected. The young man ts the check-out counter was exceptionally helpful when I had problems with my American credit card. (Unfortunately, I didn't catch his name, but he appeared to be of immigrant background, and I hope the company knows what a great employee they have!) .
Cons:When I returned the car, the employee in charge of returns was exceptionally diligent in going over the car which had a number of minor scratches when I received it. I ought to have checked these more carefully before departing with the car, but after 20+ years of renting cars during visits to Denmark, I have never had any issues, so I didn't do so. When I returned the car, I was informed that the car had two additional minor scratches that I would be held responsible for. I honestly do not believe that these scratches happened while I was using the car, but of course I have no proof. Given the fact that a number of other scratches remained on the car, the company obviously do not fix these, so it seems extravagant that my insurance company will be charged for repairing these. Besides, the windshield wipers were not working correctly (which I only discovered in a rain storm), but when I mentioned this to the employee upon return, I was given not even an apology. Next time around, I will llok for another car rental company.
The person at the service desk at Copenhagen Airport Sixt rental, Sebastian, was very friendly and helpful. The fact that we weren't offered the choice of automatic and manual on Kayak's website, kind of created a bit of confusion when picking up the car. But he was able to take care of everything, but at a higher rate. So anybody renting on a 3rd party website should be careful. However, the worst experience was when returning the car, they charged me for a damage that was there already. I had taken a photo/video when picking up the car like Sebastian suggested, but after 2-3 weeks of waiting for a response to the complain I had lodged with customer service, I received no response. Renter beware, be sure to document the damage and probably bring it up at the service desk. No one accompanied us to get the car, so we weren't able to show that there was prior damage to the car already.
Sixt website is awful. Very user-unfriendly.
Pros:Best prices as low as 10$us a day with unlimited km
Cons:the car is too intelligent and there is a noise for everything
It was easy to pick up and drop off the car. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It ended up being more expensive than we had planned due to tolls and prepaid gas. My one feedback would be to give renters the card that is necessary to use the electric charging stations, because it is difficult for a foreigner to figure out where to get this card.
Awful service. Was refused a rental after having prepaid because I had received a parking ticket when I last rented from Sixt, which I was unaware of. Refused to let me speak to a manager and only given an email to clear up the matter. Ruined my vacation plans since I was unable to rent a car.
