would be good if direction arrows to car park were on the roundabout
Pros: room was warm, clean, quiet. Bathroom excellant, even had a proper hairdryer. Staff helpfeul, efficient and smart.
Cons: Could have been more tea bags and milk in hospitality tray, but on mentioning at reception were told they would have been happy to deliver more. As it was past one am didn't think it worth it.
Pros: Nice pleasant clean hotel. Very close to Southend airport! No problems with noise. Car park fairly cramped and you might end up a fair walk away from the hotel. Staff were very friendly. The room was fairly small but as I expected.
Cons: I'd be very upset if I'd paid the full room rate! always look around for a discounted price!
Walking distance from train/airport terminal, which was ideal for our early morning flight. Need a key card to access room's electricity.
Pros: The peace, the surprise cooked breakfast and it being just across the road to the beer festival..
Cons: No soft door closers
Pros: The hotel was in a lovely location. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were spacious and very comfortable. The cooked breakfast the following morning was a welcome surprise as we thought we were only having continental! I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Pros: Staff very helpful. Some of the moans in the reviews have been rectified. Very good value for money. The widest bed I have ever slept in, in an hotel.
Cons: Being alongside a main road, the room suffered from from the passing traffic.
Pros: Very nice room, large double bed and the food
Cons: the fitness centre was very small only three pieces of equipment to use.
Pros: The room - very nicely styled, lovely sized & comfortable bed
Cons: The wait in the restaurant - very slow to serve food (waited 20minutes for apple pie!) and there was only five other diners, so being too busy was not an excuse
Pros: The bedding was in two parts and so soft....i was travelling with my female (just friend) sharing the costs so the two part bedding was superb!
Cons: Spider in the bath, the paint work by the headboard could be touched up....the window latches were a bit loose.
Cons: the road next to our room was noisy .
Pros: We had a executive room, The bed was very comfortable
Cons: No air con in bedroom night temp was about 26 degrees, Extractor fan in bathroom not working, No tea/coffee facilities in room these were in the corridor so if you wanted a drink you had to get dressed to get it. Restaurant not open on saturday night,
Pros: Warm welcome, friendly atmosphere made me feel very at ease.
Pros: The room was clean and well stocked with tea and coffee, the staff were friendly.
Pros: Very friendly owner and freshly decorated.
Pros: Very friendly owners
Pros: Location. Breakfast. Owners.
Cons: Almost booked a nearby place at half the price, but was swung by the prospect of an 'Executive Room'. The Waverley has some really lovely rooms... but not all of them it seems, & unfortunately the room we got was a disappointing one - duvet had cigarette burn; carpet was most stained I've ever seen; room was cramped; had to stand on the bed to operate tv from the top (no remote). It's a shame as some rooms looked great, but that just makes it even more disappointing when you pay the same money for one of the poorer ones. We asked if there was another room - but they were all reserved, which shows that people in the know, do return. For a lovely stay ask for one of the more recently refurbished rooms, otherwise you might be disappointed
Pros: Lovely styled room, nice suprise. loved the sofa. loads of tea, sugar and milk always an asset
Cons: Heating didnt work. toilet was heavily stained and smelt, holes in the sheets blinds didnt close at the bottom, had to stand on sofa to draw the curtain. fire alarm sounds 'fire in zone 1. there wasnt any members of staff on site so I dealt with it, muting the alarm and calling a number. My guess is a smoker but if it hadnt been we could have been in trouble
Pros: Good clean family run hotel. Pleasant staff, good facilities and close to attractions. a great bar/bistro with a seaside outlook was situated on the beach a few yards away.
All in all, I'd stay here again - The price was good, the location was great, and hotel staff was quick to assist when we needed to change rooms. Ask for a sea-view room, as the rear rooms overlook either a cemetery or car park
Pros: To say the room was large would be an understatement - it was big by American standards, let alone English standards. The location was great as well. Very easy to access.
Cons: The furniture was cheaply made. One of the legs of our bed snapped off while climbing into it. Not terribly clean (soapscum on showerhead/in bathroom). Toiletries were wall-mounted, not individual.
Oyster Fleet Hotel is a great choice for a stay in Canvey Island. For a bite to eat, guests can check out Lighthouse Restaurant, which serves British cuisine and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Other features include a bar/lounge, a terrace, and a garden.
