Difficulty checking in through our lack of German and their lack of English. Artex that could cause injury if fallen against. No internet. Not geared up for English tourists.
Cozy rooms, very friendly stuff at a breakfast time on the 26th and 27th of July The intensive smell of a secretion from the neighbourhood farm
The food was very good. The toilette was not cleaned after the last person had taken a dump in it. And besides that we had ants all over our room. It was ridiculously loud. You could hear people showering, flushing their toilette and even just peeing in the toilette. Ergo, the walls were very thin.
Great atmosphere about the hotel. Staff really friendly & helpful. Hotel and facilities spotless & everything in good working order. We only had 1 evening meal in the restaurant. It was probably the best meal of our 2 week holiday. Wished we could have had a longer stay to enjoy the facilities more. Only bad point was that the hotel ran out of the local beer on tap on our last night! Probably my fault as I drank too much of it!!!! Not really a problem as the alternative beer went down just as easily!
Friendly staff, good meal. No internet.
Attentiveness of staff. When we asked in the morning for more pillows for the evening the girl got them immediately.
Really helpful staff, good car parking and quietness Nothing
The position is extraordinary. One has to park on the other side of the Elbe and catch a rope ferry to the hotel - therefore, very quiet. Food excellent. Worth paying the extra for a room facing the Elbe. Reception was not staffed sufficiently.
Staff very discrete and professioal and genuinely committed to their job. Location very good as near cycleways, walks and the town of Rathen. Town picturesque, area similiar and hotelprovided luxury after a days cycling. The pool and sauna were very cean and accessible at all times. Location to Dresden is 20 minutes or so from train. It would be helpful if the menu and the signage in the hotel were written in English. Rathen and the hotel close down at 9 pm or so so dont come lookin nite life as it aint here.
The staff were exceptionally helpful and polite. The hotel is perfectly located for exploring the area - we did not use our car once during the whole stay, instead travelling on foot (hiking the trails) or by paddle steamer on the Elber river. The train station is also very close and easy to find, with regular trains to and from Dresden. Overall, an outstanding quality hotel! Highly recommended.
Hotel was clean & offered a large room with balcony & flower boxes. Breakfast was decent, including eggs, fruit, good breads etc. Pool was small but pristine. Front desk staff was friendly & helpful. Front desk & hotel close around 10pm, so a late-arriving guest would have to ring proprietor's bell after that to check in. Some parking spots were quite tight.
Very friendly staff, super room with balcony, great breakfast, good bar. Ideal location for hiking, walking (us), visiting Bastei area. Walk to Elbe and ferries. Excellent parking spot. No other English speaking guests, nice change. Didn't have time to check reviews, reserved night before we needed a room.
The hotel is ideally situated for exploring the surrounding area. Nice restaurant. It is important that the hotel has parking. not all staff understood English, so your written request, the hotel can be ignored.
the location of the hotel they didn't speak english ...
The hotel is ideally placed for a visit to the Bastei. There are lots of lovely walks in the vicinity. It is very easy to get to Dresden. There is an S train every 30 minutes and the trip takes 40 minutes.
nice Sauna, friendly staff, hiking trails nearby the hotel
nice clean room, friendly service, good restaurant
Location and good dinners in the hotel no
helpful staff, clean and convenient location, nice view no
The staff were friendly and thoughtful; the included breakfast was very good, people at reception were pleased to assist tourists size of room was a bit tight for three people
On the day prior to my leaving a British couple were told that the hotel did not accept visa and they had to use travellers cheques. I was told that the hotel did not accept mastercard. Luckily I had a Maestro card with me. What would have happened if I had not. A visit to a bank for cash. anotherwise excellent stay (you need to speak German to enjoy the hotel properly
