The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is located in the heart of South Lake Tahoe, NV, just an hour from Reno-Tahoe International Airport and a short walk to all the shopping, restaurants and night life and the Heavenly Gondola in Heavenly Village. The Resort features 539 newly renovated guest rooms and suite, 4 restaurants, and an outdoor (seasonal) swimming pool.
Super confortable bed, nice and spacious room. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Great casino atmosphere, I play craps and enjoyed playing here. Really enjoyable stay, will definitely be back.
The responsiveness of the staff. Park Prime Steakhouse was great.
Cleanliness and facilities left something to be desired: non-functioning bathroom lights, locks, door security, bathroom facilities.
Good location for Tahoe
No coffee maker, no fridge. Our room was missing desk
Clean rooms. Comfortable beds.
AC wasn't working - the temp kept on rising - we ended up turning it off and opening the window to cool the room. Bathroom ceiling was leaking when it started raining Some of the bathroom light fixtures weren't working Room is only goof for sleeping... no mini kitchen (fridge or microwave) - I knew this when I booked the room. I would have picked another hotel if there was one available at the time. Not a good value.
Clean & Comfortable
Not geared towards families. Smokey, blunt staff, attention to detail absent.
Check in was easy, Parking was easy
We have two in the room but only one set of batch towels. We called twice and went to the front desk once but was told "We called house keeping and they are not responding". We spoke with a manager and let them know. Then there was a customer service issue with getting ICE. Apparently, they have pre-packaged small bags of ice that you have to go to the gift shop to get. However, there are rules...they would not give me ice because I didn't bring down my room key so they made me go get it and then told me only one per room.
They didn't have any hot water, no room service after 10PM, and we called the bell boy 2x and he never came after a 30 min wait. We had to wait over 2 hours to actually get into our room, though we checked in after standard check-in time, so we checked in at 3:15PM, and weren't allowed into the room until almost 6PM.
Bang for your buck okay place to stay.
Check-in line was 2 hours long because there was only two people helping guest check in. Bob a manager was very rude when the entire line complained and did nothing to help the situation.
The rooms were clean and beautiful because they were recently renovated. Facilities were all clean. The proximity to places was ideal. The price was also a deal through kayak.
We waited hours to get in our room that was reserved ahead of time and we checked in at 5pm...so we didn't get in our til like 7pm. We waited for our bags for an hour and a half after they said they'll be up in 10 min. We had to come down to get the bags. Also, there were no bath towels in our room and when we called room service, we didn't get them til an hour later. The wait time in general for almost everything was horrible.
Location is really good, close to all the action in Tahoe, and a 2 min drive to heavenly. The rooms are quite large which I like as I have 2 young kids and it helps to have a little room :) Park and prime steakhouse is very good if you want to have a fancy dinner. Surprisingly it's good for kids too :) we actually ended up going there because there was a 1 hr wait at the other restaurant. Overall, it's a good hotel for the price; we'll definitely return.
Location and nice rooms
Similar to others? we arrived and our room was not ready. Checked in at 7 and was told the room would be ready in 20 minutes. After 3 hours it was finally ready. Seems they had an issue with housekeeping. They did give a $30 resort credit which was helpful. Overall it was a typical Tahoe casino experience. Nothing special.
The rock n roll atmosphere the food selection was good yet limited. A good sel
Lighting in bathroom not working well no coffee maker in room.
Location is great and the room seemed to be recently remodeled.
Staff and organization was pretty bad, we arrived at 3:45PM and check in starts at 4:00, we had to wait until at least 4:30 for our room to be ready. When we got to the room there was not toilet paper nor towels. We had to ask and towels where delivered after some time, but toilet paper was never delivered. Then next day, they did not really fix the room, very sloppy, we had to stop one of the staff that we bumped in the floor and ask for help.
Bars,casino's and dining
Bad check in
Nothing special. Not above and beyond. Save some money and stay at another casino property.
Atmosphere. Really quite a ghosttown of a hotel. Inflated prices for less than average fun. Better luck next time!
The oyster bar
The door at 9 o'clock to see if we are ready they need to do something about knocking or something so early in the morning
Clean Room, in Tahoe.
We checked in and the guy/staff barely acknowledged us, did not explain the 'Resort Ammenities" Hotel was very smokey due to a controlled burn in area, not their fault, but had attitude about it. Rooms were heavy smoke as well. Ventilation issues? No Hot Tub, Pool was empty/closed, security iffy in back tower, Resort Fee? for what? its Not a resort, its a Hotel Casino. No Spa. website said $20 per day Resort Fee.. we were charged $22. Not sure what it was supposed to cover. a $50 PER NIGHT deposit was added and will be refunded if there is no room damage... ?! Got no TV signal, Maintenance guy was able to repair it.. He was nice. Ammenities only went to food and drink, should have went towards Casino Play. No in room coffee pot. We put the Do Not Disturb sign on door and we came back that eve to find they entered anyway... All little things.. but added up to we will not stay there again.
The bed was comfortable , the hotel was clean but it's still new so that's probably why.
The bathroom was incredibly small , the hallways were very dark and narrow . The staff was okay not great they all look depressed they had no joy. And it was very understaffed for a huge line they had one young girl working by herself until an older lady decided to come and help her. ( other workers were just sitting in the back they would come in and out but no one would help her) Lastly, we didn't have a balcony !!! LAME! Wouldn't stay again
Great waitresses in casino. Awesome music selection playing in public areas. Comfortable beds, great view of the lake. Good food at Fire Break restaurant.
Hot tub not open due to plumbing issues. Old refurbished hotel does not live up to non-discounted prices. It's only worth it if you get a deep discount from deal websites. This Hard Rock is somehow not affiliated with the other Hard Rocks, or their rewards program. Very irritating.
Please fix the cooling system
The staff was so damn on point in every part of the ladder. From valet to casino servers to late night bar tenders all on point
It should be in crystal bay
Gave us wrong room # at check in, bothering other guests. Turned ac on but blew hot air all night, 84 in our room, was told my the front desk the wall unit goes based off of the temperature outside, so if it is 50 degrees outside and 75 in your room, unfortunately you can not turn the ac on, because it goes based off the outside temperature. We were told "this is an old building so we don't have the option for the heater or ac, it's already preset in the outside temps"
The transition in weather, with cool to cold nights apparently affected how the room thermostat functions. The outside temperature at night ran in the thirties, however there was no way to cool our room with the a/c system. When we reported it in the morning we were informed that the cooler doesn't work when it is cold outside. It was 80 degrees in our room! We were told to open our window, which is what we did to avoid being overheated in our room.
For a new hotel was totally surprised how rundown the bathrooms were specially the shower area and lights in the bathroom did not work Front desk told me that they had not pass building codes for lights to be available. .
I got a great deal with a mid week room and once I got the correct room (they first give me an uncleaned room from the previous user) and then once I called them - they quickly gave me a new room.
The main light in the bathroom did not work and they had a note telling me that it did not work- why not just fix it.
it was an awesome room, very comfortable bed and linens. The lady's in the gift shop Rocked! Room was very quiet and the Lake view is amazing! Meeting Queensryche for pictures and hanging out after the show.....priceless!
Front desk staff could use alot of improvement. If a customer wants to upgrade to a balcony room you would think the front desk would go out of their way to accommodate (didn't happen) The only reason l didn't buy a 100.00 robe is because I didn't want to deal with front desk again. If you are going to charge for the water bottle left in room (wine is also there) maybe a note with charges should also be left!
Nice room with a view of the lake, good bed, great music on the TV. Good bar and restaurants. Good location and I was treated nicely by the staff.
No pool or spa, floor in our room had a slight slope, no ice machines. Had to go to another floor that had bins filled with melting bags of ice. Bathroom was small but was big enough for a hotel room. Initially was given a room I didn't book but after telling them I had already received confirmation they suddenly had the room I wanted.
The room was nice and clean. The room was pretty modern and beds were comfortable.
The check in took forever. It took almost an hour to get checked in. Apparently there is a resort fee for amenities like the gym, pool, wifi, etc. which is a bit ridiculous. I thought I was done paying until I go to check out and find out that I owe money.
Very clean and modern! Great location!
1. The check-in process was extremely long. We waited 20+ minutes in line to check-in because they only had two staff members at the front desk. 2. The resort fee is ridiculous. This is a nice hotel, but not a "resort." Upon check-in we were told that the $22 resort fee was for Wifi (didn't need it-brought our own Mifi), the gym (two treadmills and a couple of weights is hardly a gym), and a landline for local calls (Is this 1992?). The pool and spa weren't even open because it was October. The staff member at the front desk waived the fee for me, but if she hadn't, it would have been a deal-breaker for future visits. 3. The guy at Fuel was clearly annoyed when we asked if he could heat our danishes. He also would not let me apply the free coffee coupons they gave us at check-in for hot chocolate, even though I was willing to pay the difference. 4. We couldn't open our closet because the door was off the track 5. The towel hook on the door fell off when I hung my towel on it.
Really nice facilities
The bed was comfortable.
The front desk took 20 minutes to check us in, there was no mini fridge in the room, when I called to ask about one they wanted $35/night to rent one, they didn't have an ice maker, but buckets that were supposed to contain ice bags but instead contained bags of water since they didn't refill them, we had to call room service to get ice as they never refilled those buckets. The pool and hot tub were "out of season" and closed. Pick any hotel/casino but this one or even one of the budget motels that are off the main strip and you'll have basic amenities that this hotel doesn't have.
Casino was nice
Pool was not in service they said that had been on there web site for 2 weeks but we booked our room months in advance why would you look at the web site after you have booked your room would have not stayed there if I knew this the door on my room had a gap of about 1inch the bottom could hear everyone and I'm sure they could hear us over all I would not stay there again just seemed dirty in the front tower
Old hotel that is renovated. Even though it's renovated still looked old. Didn't feel safe. No security around. Paid the resort fee and the pool was out of order. The gym only had four machines. The ice machine is only available in odd level floors.
The casino was nice
When we arrived we found out that the pool was closed for construction.... We have lite kids and one of the main reason we chose the hard rock was because of the pool amenities. We had to move rooms twice because the hot water heater was out in the older tower. We received a $50 credit for our trouble... The hotel was not staffed accordingly, there is no one to answer the phones. In addition most of the staff on duty was new and not seasoned enough to be competent. When we checked out our bill was incorrect and included $25 in mini bar items that we did not use! Overall we will never stay at the hard rock casino in Tahoe ever again....
The hotel staff was rude! They ran out of ice seriously.... Bathroom lights in our room were out of order didn't tell us. Long lines everywhere. It was dirty
Location was close to things to do, but the whole are is only several blocks so each hotel met this criteria.
The hotel name is new, the bldg is very old. Air conditioning did not work and after calling twice, was up late for attempted repair and ended up with a noisy fan. They did not want to provide any credit for this! The room for the fitness center was about the size of a bedroom with a couple machines in it. They had one tiny area for nonsmoking in the casino, only a few machines and you had to pass through huge smoke clouds to/from, and you still smelled all the smoke. The room was very pricy and they then surprised me with an extra $25/night site fee on the bill! For what? Use of the extravagant fitness center I guess. The staff were much more apathetic than rude. I got that 'whatever' feeling from them all. I would not recommend the Hard Rock Hotel to anyone, it was awful.
beds were comfy...
remodeled rooms were still needing lots of attention. Door didn't shut correctly, 1 inch gap on door bottom made it super loud and dangerous as you could seen in from the hall and reach in with a wire to unlock door. Staff was not unfriendly, but obviously not able to "make things right". Very disappointing stay.
