Overview

There are few places in the United States that capture the imagination of travelers like Lake Tahoe. This beautiful lake straddles the border of California and Nevada, it is located in the mountains and has lots of recreational activities regardless of the season. For example, in the summer you can enjoy hiking and fishing, while the winter is the perfect place to spend time on a ski trip. When you are spending time at Lake Tahoe, one of the best places to stay is the Blue Jay Lodge.

The Blue Jay Lodge is the ideal place to stay while you are vacationing in Lake Tahoe. The lodge is located in the perfect place to enjoy the surrounding town while at the same time having easy access to all the recreation. When you are not out and about, the comfortable rooms are the perfect place to relax. The hotel has incredible views of the mountains from your room, and if you enjoy getting a good swim in, the pool is located outside, so you can get laps while looking up at some amazing mountain vistas.

Dining in the Lake Tahoe area is an eclectic mix of fine dining and local favorites. Though the hotel does not have any in-house dining options, you will enjoy having a chance to get out and enjoy lots of local flavor. Whether it is getting a nice cup of hot chocolate after an exhilarating day on the slopes or having a nice seafood dinner with locally caught fish, there are plenty of options that are just a short walk from the hotel.

Enjoy your time at Lake Tahoe by booking a room at the Blue Jay Lodge.

Pros (+) Management was extremely helpful. Boosted my car off with a smile. Perfect budget stay, short 5 minute walk to casino.
Cons (-) You get what you pay for as far as condition.

Pros (+) This was a great stay. The room was close to the parking lot, bed was comfortable, wifi was reliable, and my partner and I got a good night's rest. Of course you can't expect 5 star experience (whatever that is), but for a ton of privacy, clean and comfortable room and bed, and the distance from there to the beach/shopping center, for the price ($70~/night) it was awesome!
Cons (-) The continental breakfast was limited (cereal, orange juice, alright cinnamon buns, oatmeal, coffee, tea, apples and bananas). It was probably first-come, first-serve, yet no one told us of this policy or when it started (7am-9am). I recommend staff to tell us when it is available and what is included. I wouldn't pay extra for the breakfast.

Pros (+) The location was great
Cons (-) It has a musty smell, the bottom sheet was not a fitted sheet so if I turned over I would take the sheet with me and be laying on the bare mattress :(. The bathrooms were not super clean.
