Pros: Klaas was an excellent host! With very helpful tips!
Pros: Really enjoyed my stay at the De Rede BnB! Klaas was a great host and made my stay extra special with his friendly down to earth character. Thanks again for the memorable Friesland experience. Cheers :) Jon
Pros: Klaas (Owner) made our stay extremely comfortable with extra information and special service (wine, water, towels, special requests).
Cons: Would be nice to have a refrigerator in the room. But we managed without it.
With a stay at B&B Pension Perruque in Koudum, you'll be in a shopping district, within a 15-minute drive of IJsselmeer and Hindeloopen Fountain. Featured amenities include express check-in, express check-out, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The owners give 110% in everything they do. Everybody is received as family or better. The whole atmosphere is very inviting and there are many public areas where you can relax, inside and outside. Bike rental is available, both under own power and electric. You can boot boat excursions at Le Perruque too! We happened to end up in the smallest room in this unique location - a former police station, but it was still comfortable with excellent shower facilities and even a small balcony. The people of Koudum are amazing! While coming from the train station, looking for Le Perruque, we asked for directions because it started to rain. The man, Peter, opened up the doors of his van, threw in the suitcase and drove us to our destination! When asking for a taxi, later in the supermarket, the girl wanted to call one for us right away. Great experience!
Cons: Le Perruque is all about environment, green, which is very recommendable. One result of that was that the pillow cases were a bit coarse (At least that's what I thought). The view from the room was not great, but once outside on the bicycle it was awesome. Since it's farm country, we woke up twice with the smell of natural fertilizer, but that too, blew off fast.
Pros: B&B very nice and we'll maintained
Pros: * Absolutely nice and friendly hosts in a very clean accommodation. * Very extensive breakfast including coffee, tea, cocoa, ..., fresh juices, eggs in all variants, fruit salad, cereals, etc. * Soft drinks, coffee, cocoa, alcohol, etc. available at manageable prices - all day long * Excellent feel-good atmosphere. * Parking on the property in front of the house.
Cons: * Our room was spacious enough for two people with little luggage. For a longer stay we would have wished for a larger one * For breakfast, pancakes, fried eggs, etc are offered. The smells are distributed in the room and unfortunately also on the clothes.
Pros: the cleanliness of the property
Cons: expected the room to be larger
Pros: Very clean and tidy. The staff were very kind and helpfull
Cons: The familyroom was very small.
Located in Rijs, Bed & Breakfast Rijsterbosch is in a rural location, within a 15-minute drive of IJsselmeer and D.F. Wouda Steam Pumping Station. Featured amenities include multilingual staff, luggage storage, and a library. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Great location, facility and breakfasts
Pros: Lovely building, wonderful nature surroundings, just down the street the best restaurant I've ever eaten in in the Netherlands - recommended to us by the B&B. The owner arranged for electric bikes for us to rent and had them delivered to our door. We'll be back!
Cons: Not a thing.
Pros: Our friends were in a room upstairs and it was gorgeous. The sitting area was beautiful as well.
Cons: Our room, for the same price, was half the size and not nearly as nice. The owner had a little bit of an irritated attitude with us.

Pros: Very kind the staff
Cons: Too hot During the summer there isn't refrigerating system and the bedroom is very very hot.
Pros: Location was great
Cons: Steep stairs and up and down steps
Pros: The breakfast is fantastic: every day a different 3-course home made meal.
Pros: We cannot put in words how perfect our weekend was. Super clean, super friendly (they remembered not only our names, but even our dog's name!), very cosy decoration of an antique cafe with more than 100 years history. You can see that it is not just a business, it is a passion. Their breakfast is incredible and different every day. We stayed for dinner one night and had an amazing private restaurant experience with great food. The surrounding is great for hiking and biking: it has forests, lakes, endless fields, birds, old and new windmills, stones from ice age etc.
Pros: Breakfast was really something special and a pleasant change from the usual breakfast buffet you get at other places. Very friendly hosts. Nicely decorated lounge and comfortable room.

Pros: Ideal for a couple that would like a quiet break
Pros: Amazing find! Right on the water. A cozy little flat. The bed (both sides were adjustable!) was so comfy, we slept for 10 hours after our flight. A shower like I have never seen. Yummy coffee, a little fridge, free parking and the highest speed internet I have ever used. Highly recommend!
Cons: You have to change channels on the TV manually - but that is really a small issue. Everything was perfect.
Pros: Fabulous location in great little town. Very comfortable, high quality fittings throughout.
Cons: No door on the bathroom. This meant you couldn't go to the loo and have privacy if somone else used the kitchen at the same time.
Pros: Access to the seaside, very comfy bed, privacy and the shower.
Pros: I loved having my own tiny house. The bed was big and comfy, free parking right next to the house, the sea just a stone's throw away, luxury bathroom, lovingly decorated- just a wonderful place. The owners were great and made sure everything was to my liking and I felt very welcome there. I really felt like their guest.

Cons: There aren't many options for somewhere to eat very close by.
Pros: Room was nice, breakfast was great.

Pros: I have stayed here before and really liked it but previously stayed in the little bungalows. This time I had a room in the newly renovated main house and it was just wonderful! Top marks!
Cons: No complaints whatsoever!
Pros: breakfast was good, dinner also, staff very friendly and efficient. bathroom good, with amenities and separate shower and bath.
Cons: no wifi in the room; curtain didn't cover the full window, price higher than we normall pay for more comfort, so value for money not as expected
Pros: Lovely host and wonderful breakfast. Perfect for our brief visit to the area.
Pros: Large, very comfortable room. Friendly welcome. Excellent food in the restaurant.
Cons: One night the restaurant was very full and service was slow.
Pros: My friends and I had dinner in the garden on Saturday evening and it was beyond excellent! I had the lamb cutlets and goulash as a main and it was the best cooked, most tender lamb I've ever had - and I've eaten a lot of lamb in my 56 years! My friends had the haddock and proclaimed it delicious and we shared the mango sorbet and ice cream for pud which was equally amazing! Well done Hotel Jans!
Cons: Absolutely nothing. The staff, the level of cleanliness, the setting.....everything was perfect!

When you stay at Hotel de Vrouwe van Stavoren in Stavoren, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of IJsselmeer. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
Pros: Lovely eccentric rooms beautifully appointed. Wonderful location. Delicious food.
Pros: Interesting historic property w/ some rooms built in wine casks (others, normal hotel rooms), walking distance from ferry landing and close to restaurants. Good breakfast buffet included in room price. Good bike storage.
Pros: Very friendly young man who spoke English!
Cons: Loved it all
Pros: Location is superb. Right in the middle of the very small town (!) of Stavoren. Staff is friendly and easy going, it felt like family welcoming you back home. Easy check-in, spacious rooms with a sitting area. All amenities at hand, nothing was missing. We had dinner in the restaurant, with fish on the menu and some expensive, but quality wines in the cellar. We didn't stay in the wine-casket, but in the 'normal' rooms. The website has a lot of images of the wine-rooms, but just a few of the normal rooms. These few pictures are nevertheless well reflecting the state and size of the rooms.
Cons: The choice of dinner was a curious journey of twice changing the meal, since the selected fish was not longer served. This should not have happened, and it felt like we're forced to take a more expensive meal instead ('sliptong' is not cheap). Anyway, it tasted very nice and with the expensive wine it was a good meal after all. Parking is not allowed in the city centre (this is not a hotel issue), but a 5 minute walk from the parking lot 250 m down the road. For people needing support this could be a disadvantage.
Cons: Extremely hot and unprepared for it
Pros: A nice hotel, little bit outdated, but clean and the breakfast buffet was very good. Both room and breakfast more than reasonable for the rate. It was all as expected. Needed a good place to stay for 1 night in the area for a reasonable price. And for me it met all the criteria. And even though the hotel was pretty full, we had a nice quiet night, no disturbance from the other guests.
Cons: Really nothing to add here.
Pros: Quirky and comfortable hotel.
Cons: Lack of drink making facilities in the room.
Pros: Everything. They went above and beyond expectations. When they found out it was our 16 Year Anniversary, they decorated our room with balloons and hearts.
Cons: 1. Photos of this place are misleading, as all of them are showing the Wine Barrel rooms. The standard hotel rooms are not these ones, be aware of this. 2. It's written in the booking conditions that Parking is free, which means for them that we have to search for it and it's our problem if we find it or not. There were 5 car spots in front of the hotel that were always taken. 3. We went on second Christmas Day so a lot of restaurants in the town were closed (including the Hotel's restaurant) It would be nice to be informed in advance about this, when asking for tips regarding dinner they were fruitless as some were closed and another we would be able to go in, they did not have meal for us and we had to drive 80Kms total to have dinner in the town Sneek. There was passive-agressive feedback to simple questions such: Q - "Is the restaurant open?" A - "We are 50 people in the restaurant in the summer and in winter we need a break" Q - "What time is the checkout? A - "As soon as possible" In a few words - Lack of staff empathy, friendliness and sensibility

Pros: Location was fabulous, and dinner on the terrace was excellent.
Pros: great location, view, rooms are very good size, nice updated bathroom with separate WC good food in great portions
Cons: i dont like chlorine in swimming pool (may be personal)
Pros: The welcome. The room. The food. The service.
Cons: Nothing. This hotel is perfect.
Pros: Fantastic family room with balcony and stunning view. Nice dinner arrangement, cool pool.
Pros: They had sugar bread.
Pros: The marvellous view in the restaurant
Cons: Quality of some items of breakfast.
Pros: Breakfast was just great. The swimmingpool was open till 11pm which was very nice for our children!
Cons: The food served in the restaurant was very good but it asked some patience, they really took their time to serve us.
Pros: The friendliness of the staff.
Cons: The carpet in my bedroom was soiled in places.
Pros: Location. Size of rooms. Location. Attitude to pets. Location.
Cons: Hard to think of anything.
Pros: Clean and comfortable
Cons: Daily taxes Expensive
When you stay at Hotel de Stadsboerderij in Hindeloopen, you'll be on the beach, just steps from Hindeloopen Fountain and 5 minutes by foot from IJsselmeer. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Very quiet area, nice stuff, lovely place, tasty ribs in the evening, good fourchet breakfast in the morning
Cons: The shower was a bit difficult to settle to steady temperature and beds were a bit bending, mosquito net was absent on the window, the toilet door was not closing but in general it was ok
Pros: flexibility to change the booking a the last moment. Great environment, directly in the small city center, very charming and authentic, excelent price / quality ratio.
Pros: Great pub experience in hotel.
Pros: The atmosphere and the stuff are lovely. We enjoyed the room with the typical Hindeloopen old fashion design. We were traveling in time when sleeping in our comfortable "bedstee". Our stay was both enjoyable and educative. The location just next to the IJsselmeer is perfect.
Cons: We were missing a full body mirror, and one extra chair. The room was very clean, but the ceiling could use some more attention.
Pros: A good small hotel in a beautiful Dutch coastal town. My wife was somewhat disconcerted when the bed turned out to be in what we would regard as a cupboard, but not claustrophobic as long as we left the doors open, and comfortable enough, though not too easy to clamber in and out of, especially at night.
Cons: The restaurant next door was fairly average, though not expensive. It had very pleasant and helpful staff, and the standard of English spoken by many Dutch people is very impressive, it puts language-lazy UK people to shame.
Cons: We struggled to read in the bedroom. There were no bedside lights.
Pros: The staff couldn't do enough for you. Helpful, friendly, the works. The rooms, which are situated in an old farmhouse, were spotlessly clean. The beds were comfortable and staff had taken the heat into consideration and had given us light bedding with duvets in the wardrobe if you needed them and a fan in each room to keep you cool. As one if us couldn't walk that far, Kees and his wife, the hotel owners, had kindly offered to provide transport to/from the station. Big thank you for that. Foppie layed out a beautiful and fresh buffet breakfast every morning with different types of bread, cheese, sandwich meats, serials, yoghurts, freshly boiled eggs (still warm), fresh fruit, coffee, tea, milk and fruit juices. For your lunches/evening meals you can just pop next door to 'Eetcafe de Brabander' where you are greated by the lovely Henky and chef husband (whose name has slipped my mind). They have a nicely varied menu and serve generous and very tasty meals. Everyone at hotel De Stadsboerderij and Eetcafe De Brabander next door, the people of Hindeloopen and its authentically beautiful and sereen surroundings, could not have done more/been better for our trip down memory lane. See you again soon!
Cons: There wasn't anything we didn't like.
Pros: good breakfast and great location
Pros: Service and friendliness, especially at the pub/restaurant next door to the hotel, were outstanding. The two year old in our group was made to feel extra special and couldn't stop talking about her new friends. The breakfast available at the hotel was an amazing spread, and the atmosphere at both places was really lovely. Enjoyed our stay so much!
Cons: Nothing to dislike. Steps are steep in the hotel but pack light and enjoy the views!
