The room was clean. BED VERY COMFORTABLE. Didn't inform us the water was getting shut off in the morning. We woke up to no water! Thank god it was for pleasure and not business. Front desk person basically told us "OH WELL" Really? The manager was to call us that after noon. No call. Tuesday called and she knew nothing about it. Would talk to Kayak and give us half the bill off. Never called back! Had to go through Kayak to settle the whole thing. Kudos to Kayak.
Kudos to Patrick!!
Despite what you read here, rooms were very quiet, comfortable and seemed newly renovated. Hotel was quiet but we didnt care about that. Hot water was an issue for me and other guests I spoke to. The staff worked hard to fix it, but I think the issue was out of their control.
Nothing People smoking weed, parting extermly loud and having sex none stop they all could hear. Called to complain serveral times with nothing being done. Horrible stay me we not recommend it
As far as Towson goes, there doesn't seem to be too many hotels, and if you don't mind a little walk, everything is within reaching distance of this locale. Rooms are VERY comfortable, TVs big, plenty of place to put your things. They could up their game in the quality of the toiletries. A little scent goes a long way. Also, room service messed up my order pretty well, not sure the guy was really paying close attention when I ordered, but it's all good.
liked the proximity to Goucher and shopping While the staff were friendly and helpful when they could be, the hotel felt understaffed. Things felt a bit shabby and worn around the edges. And what hotel with a pool, business or otherwise, closes it down during the daytime hours when those of us working or visiting family/friends might have an hour to get a workout in? It's great that you pay a lifeguard, but don't skimp on the hours.
Convenience. Cleanliness. Cost.
Location met our needs perfectly. The rooms and hallways were dark.
There is a great Pho restaurant attached to the hotel. The staff was very nice and it was an overall great stay. Nice TVs but not in high definition. Our room looked like it had a bit of water damage. It was right next to the gym so we heard a bit of noise.
We had a terrible night. The staff couldn't manage a very large family event - over 200 people -- so there was disruptive noise until 2 am
Helpful staff. Got upgraded to a suite when my room wasn't available. Also helped me with the washing machine. Furnishing was a little old and needs to be updated. Neighborhood was ok but not as quiet as I would have liked.
Breakfast, and sofa bed for our kids was very convenient. While looking for my son's stuffed animal in the chair cushions, I found a sandwich baggie with the corner tied in a knot and white powder in it. I turned it in to the manager at the front desk, but they didn't say much about it. They didn't even ask my name or room number for a report. Hope it was reported to authorities.
The bed set up The size of the bathroom
We stayed for 3 days in the middle of our vacation. Of the hotels we stayed in, this was the best. While not luxurious, it was very nice and the suite type room fit our needs well. The staff supplied plenty of towels each day and left our belongings "as is" while we were out for the day. The restaurant in the hotel was a Vietnamese restaurant which probably wouldn't cater to many children. We went else where for the meals we ate close to the hotel.
The breakfast was not good. The toasters did not work to toast the bagels and the eggs were not eatable.
Front desk friendliness No receipt upon checkout
Clean, Comfortable, Friendly, When is was raining you could really hear it, because of the drops hitting the AC unit. Took a bit more effort to fall asleep.
King suite rooms were very large, friendly staff, great location lack of sufficient lamps/lighting in the rooms. Room lights that automatically go on with motion sensors at any time of the day.
For the price, its good. I had check into my room, I had went to run some errands, when I returned I was unable to get in my room. My room was given to someone else.......I had to get my stuff and change rooms. On the second night, my room key didn't work. I had to get it re-program to get in my room.
The price the location, plenty of choice for restaurants, grocery store , bars, perfect for the business traveler into the area
Don't have anything bad to say about this place. We got in really late and looked forward to getting a good night's sleep. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were soft.
Wireless internet didn't work and staff was unhelpful; ants in the bathroom; cleanliness of bedding was visibly questionable
The location--it was very close to the venue I was interested in.
My husband and I along with our daughter recently visited the Hyatt in Owings Mills over the Labor Day weekend. We had seperate rooms, which enabled us to do some comparison (the double is nearly the size of a studio apartment) which I cannot rave enough about! Since presentation, cleanliness, and customer service all hold top priority with me, this hotel both met and exceeded our expectations. Everything appears new and nicely designed. The rooms are exactly as they appear on the site and are not misleading. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, the management and staff were exceptional. They really catered to our interest. Although the location is further away from most of the cities attractions, it is in a great area. It's in walking distance to Owings Mills Mall with a lot of shopping, a movie theater, and various restaurants for dinning. For the price (which was very nice) you will certainly be satisfied with your stay! We would defenitely revisit and recommend it to anyone!!
This is a great hotel for the cost per night. Excellent atmosphere and very professional employees. If you are one who like to have a drink without going off the hotel premisses, then you may want to think twice. The bar is not fully functional due to a limited variety of offering. Also you do not have a restaurant on this facility, thus requiring a travel to get to restaurants. Other than this two concerns, this is a very great looking and well located hotel away from the center of Baltimore. I will recomend this hotel to my friends at any time.
I fully agree with the previous reviewer. The contemporary style of the facility and the rooms is very pleasant. The bathroom itself was a bit small, but everything else about the room was spacious, modern, clean, and comfortable. The staff was quite helpful, and the location was very convenient to our destination/activities. It was a much better facility than a substantially higher priced hotel in Annapolis in which we stayed several months ago. I would definitely stay here again.
Room was spacious, clean and modern. The hotel was also near restaurants and shops.
Price was right and had no issues. Not fancy and not to simple. Was safe and clean.
I was in town for a funeral, and most hotels in the area were booked. It was a bit more than I wanted to pay, but needed the location near family, since I was not familiar with the area. I arrived late and found a menu for a snack and glass of wine which was perfect at 11pm! Service was quick too. Very clean, large room. The maids were kind and helpful when I returned for a forgotten item after checkout.
My stay at the Hyatt was good. I would recommend this hotel to a friend.
They must have redone the hotel since the last poster wrote his review....\n\nThis hotel is stunning. It is a very chic modern style, but not too much(if you dont like that). Each room is amini suite with great beds and pillows.A large L-shaped couch and huge approx 42' widescreen hdtv..also extra sink and refridgerator in room and free internet access.
Very nice and comfortable room. They should put microwave in rooms. Compl breakfast was excellent. Staff was helpful in answering questions.
Our room was spacious with a separate area with a couch. refrigerator and ''wet bar sink'' The bedcovers were covered with a clean sheet. The room was newly renovated and immaculate
I booked online and then got charged again, when I gave them my card for incidentals. Still waiting to be reimbursed. I was told when I realized it that it was only a hold. After 5 days it posted. 3 days later I am still waiting for it to be returned. They said it should be back by tomorrow at the latest. Probably an honest mistake but a bit of a pain.
The pool was too cold for swimming, which was very disappointing for my two young children.
I rated too low by accident. I really meant 4 stars. The beds and pillows were awesome. Pool looked inviting even though we didn't swim. Room was nice and clean. Liked the fridge and microwave concept. Didn't use but would have if we would have stayed longer. Treadmill was nice and smooth. No breakfast bar. For the price, a breakfast bar would have rated our stay a five star. A fan in the bathroom so it wouldn't steam up would have been nice too.
Earlier reviewer stated lack of breakfast in area - Reisterstown diner on 140 is the place to go (5 mins away!) Pillows were too soft Mattress uncomfortable Walls too thin - heard loud talking from room next door at 2AM
During this trip, I spent 2 visits at this location. My first room was not as clean as my second room. It appeared that my second room had just had the carpet cleaned. This was were things got a little weird... I had a hotel employee try to force his way into my room. He said he was there to shampoo the carpets. I was alone in my room with both security locks in place. His hotel key totally undid the first lock and he was trying to undo the bar with his had through my door.... I only had one night left to stay, I slept with a heavy chair in front of my door. I spoke with management, they wanted to give me a $25 gift card for their restaurant, but I already had plans for that night.
From the setting of the reservations to the check-out for departure. My experience was great. I really appreciated the customer service that was presented. I am big on customer service skills and the associates at the desk, no matter the shift was excellent. My room was phenominal and my stay was out of this world. I really enjoyed the little apartment atmosphere that is presented with each suite. I really didn't want to leave my room after getting there, inspite of the activities that I had planned for myself. I didn't take advantage of the many options available, because this experience was new to me. However, on my next visit, I will be using every benefit available to me. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is wonderful as well. I love that it gives off out outdoorsy feel while still being inside. I never left the hotel the entire weekend. I really had no plans to leave, but after arriving there, it became evident that I wasn't moving my vehicle until departure day. Thank you for making my new individual experience a memorable one.
I enjoyed staying at the Embassy Suites Baltimore Hunt Valley. The suite was well-laid out, the furniture nice and fairly new... The atrium in the center of the hotel is beautiful with koi ponds, waterfalls, paths, bridges and trees. Good breakfast buffet. Nice managers' reception in the evening with snacks and beverages in the restaurant/bar. Very convenient that the restaurant is right there on the first floor. The reception staff was very pleasant and helpful. Only downside to the hotel was the noise from the highway, so I couldn't give a perfect 'score'... Hunt Valley is a great little shopping area -- restaurants and mall across the street from hotel.
I had a great experience when here for a wedding in 10/2011. The hotel staff was great and tried to place as close to each other. They were helpful with directions around town as well. The room was clean and the free breakfast in the morning was great.
Little busy when I checked in, but when it was my turn, all her attention was on me, not on all the other things she had to do. The bed was heavenly. The cleaning staff left me alone when I wanted them to, so life was good.
This hotel works out very well for us staying in Hunt Valley for a week of work...this was our second stay and it was super. The shuttle is a very nice feature, we love that it is so close to the nearby mall, the breakfast...everything...thank you so much and see you next year!
this is an aging hotel in needs of renpvation of rooms
What a marvelous stay. You really can't beat it. The Manager's reception every evening is great with free drinks and food and the daily free buffet breakfast is really a nice full buffet. Warm cookies, coffee and tea in the lobby - I mean what else do you need. Rooms are a nice size and comfortable; it's nice to have a separate 'living room' with wet bar and the staff is 'at your service'. I will try to find an Embassy Suites everytime I travel from now on. It was just great!!
I only stayed in this hotal for one night. The general experience was good.
Professionalism The fact that whenever we required something it took hours before we got it and we had to ask at least 3 times everytime.
The staff was wonderful and very helpful. My bathroom had a sour smell and there were signs in the grout of the shower
Toilet kept running
When we arrived we had to wait 45 minutes in the lobby while I sat on hold with Kayak. Apparently there was an issue with Kayaks credit card. We had to eat in the lobby and my guests were fussy and the front desk couldn't even fix the issue. She had to call out for outside help. Unacceptable.
We stayed at the Residence Inn for a weekend. This is a solid hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean, and breakfast is complimentary; overall, a good value for the money. My only complaint is that the hotel staff knocked on our door around 9 am on our checkout day. I still don't understand the purpose for this; I found it annoying. Other than that minor issue, we had a wonderful stay!
Nice rooms with a very good breakfast. Staff was very accommodating!
Accessibility to other conveniences (stores, restaurants, etc)
We were visiting family in Towson. The hotel was convenient, spacious, clean and a pleasure to stay in for two nights. I would definitely stay there again.
Location Very dated
Quiet location with plenty of parking. Reasonably close to the fairgrounds and numerous restaurants. Only one ice machine on the second floor.
Clean. Great amenities. Bistro servers were less than enthusiastic.
Great location, large common rooms, clean, quiet The ice machine on the first floor was out of order. When I told them at the desk someone went into the kitchen area and got me several scoops of ice for my small cooler.

Walls are not built to preclude hearing people in the adjacent room.
Quiet clean and comfy Nothing

the location the room I stayed in was outdated and it had a musty smell.the bathroom had mold on the ceiling. (Pics for proof) The thermometers broken also. The hostess told me it was a open bar and it wasnt. It was disappointing experience. it wasnt worth the money.
the location Bathroom wasn't clean and there was mold on the wallpaper
Location No microwave, but that was expected in a two star hotel. There was one in the store area that we could use.

The fact that you had a full kitchen a living room with a fireplace and all for a low price. That the toilet was terrible clogged and the cleaning staff didn't take care of it before we checked in but they did offer to move us to another room.
Room was real nice. Girl at desk (Alda) is great and apologetic about the inconvience for 2 nights of noise at all hours. 2 nights of 20 - 30 people partying on and off at 11pm -3am waking me up. Police came to boot a group second night. Third nigt a small bus came with partiers of 30+. Truck even drove up on sidewalks (have pics of tread marks). Hotel left a bag of trash cleaned from another room at my door (full of beer cans, have pics as well). Not sure why persons are renting rooms for parties here. Not cool when on business and you need a goods nights rest and need to get up early. Breakfast is really really below average and coffee is horrible (went to Wawa or DD).
The staff were friendly and upgraded our room; there was free breakfast; the rooms were large suits with a full kitchen and living area Our room smelled like cigarette smoke, even though it was supposedly a non-smoking room
The young man who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. We were going to a function that started before the normal check in time but he was able to get us into our room soon enough for us to get to the event on time. You can tell that they are doing upgrades to the place but that did not interfere with our enjoying our stay. The suite was roomy with a full kitchen and utensils, sofa, stuffed side chair, two upright chairs at the kitchen counter, plenty of electrical sockets, very roomy bathroom, nice pictures on the walls, and a nice fireplace. The bed was very comfortable. There were a variety of items available for the free breakfast and it was being restocked as quickly as people emptied out the containers. A different young man checked us out and he was also very friendly and helpful. Was looking forward to having a fire in the fireplace after we got back into our suite (was a very cold, windy day.) Did not realize till after we had put on our PJs that it was a wood burning fireplace -- we had no wood and we were unwilling to get dressed and go back out into the cold to find any wood. Wish they had told us at check-in about the need for wood. It was cold in the breakfast area. The scrambled eggs and potatoes in the "heated" serving pans were cold to lukewarm. Fortunately, there was a microwave available to nuke the food. The cream cheese that was served for the bagels were in containers used by everyone -- for health reasons, the cheese should have been offered in individual packages.
Location to events we attended Everything else. Filthy.. Drug infested. Hookers. Noise. Dangerous parking lot. I would sleep outdoors naked in the middle of the desert before I would ever stay in a Howard Johnson's again.
Staff was riude
It was a good value for the money. It was close to the venue we needed to be at. The bathroom was clean A little noisy at night with ppl partying
Loved the pool, the customer service, and the room was quite nice. the room needs a mini fridge, beyond that everything was great.
Cost and bath area looked to be recently remodeled. 3 of the four towels were caked with hair and red goo. The rear entrance door would not latch. The mattress was old and leaned to one side.
Nothing The room stunk of a really sweaty oder. Baltimore airport closed a lot of flights, leaving choices to a minimum. I booked the room in desperation. I would of been better sleeping outside. I had to take my clothes out of my suitcase and lay on top of them on the bed. The she's and pillows stunk so bad it was unbearable. My skin started itching moments after entering the room for the first time. I don't mind non luxurious rooms or need all the bells and whistles but just need it functional and clean. The carpet stunk so bad I wouldn't let my dog sleep on it. It was by far the most unpleasant stay I have ever had in my life. I never slept a wink, worse than jail. They need to demolish the place including the foundatin and rebuild..(seriously)
