Everything about the hotel was first class but the courtesy and attentiveness of the staff reflected that this was a family run hotel. It was a great shame that our stay was only for one night. Nothing whatsoever.
Very nice staff. Basic room, but clean.
a fair price for a good hotel
Very friendly and helpful staff, meals were nicely presented
The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The availability of good dining and a bar to relax in was very welcome after a long journey.
Staff very pleasant and helpful. Very pleasant lounge area. Breakfast and bar snacks very good. Extremely good value. Warm and comfortable
Staff were helpful, room was well decorated and very clean Door keys were a bit hard to use (we needed help to get into our room, and we in turn helped other guests)
Clean warm room No Internet access in room no wifi Loud music preventing rest Over cooked bacon Artificial orange juice
The room had plenty of space was clean and comfortable. As the name suggests was central and was perfect for what we required.
Brilliant staf and room Could be a little more coffee and milk in room
Convenient position, good friendly service. Shower temperature almost impossible to adjust. poor finish to room 28. bathroom door damaged both sides, would not close properly from outside, bedroom mirror missing, rough wood on desk, blood on chair
Good value and wholesome food. Comfortable bed. Ground floor room was cold, and next to car park. No desk at which to work. Expensive internet access.
Was easy to get to and accessible by public transport There were faults in the room
This hotel is handy for the shoping centre as it is difficult to park in Stockport. Room 34 - The room in this Hotel was not the usual bathroom layout of premier standards, the bathroom door would not close due to hinge screws loose. Based on this room I would not recommend.
The staff are friendly, very nice receptionists.Great location for town centre.A cracking breakfast. Need a bit of air freshener around, one of those places where there is an odour.
Neighbours next door in room 29 where very noisy waking my partner up at 1.30 in the morning. I am hard of hearing so it did not affect me. And in the morning when waiting up for breakfast same again. Banging draws and doors.
Good bed & powerful shower Some lights not working correctly.
It's location, and the availability of food in the restaurant until 10pm on our arrival night.
The Clayton Hotel is very good at providing accommodations for lots of people. Lines are long but move quickly. Food is what you'd expect. The bar has lots of seating. Basically, it is a very convenient and well-run hotel. The Clayton does cut a few corners. There are no tissues in the room (my nose was running from a cold). The soap bar is amazingly small but more than is needed for a shower or two. Would I stay at another hotel at the airport, no. I recommend the Clayton.
Had a very nice meal
Convenient to the airport with a good restaurant The only thing I could complain about is no one advised us that the heating/cooling system was turned off in our room upon arrival.
I liked the room, the bed, and the large bar/lounge/dining room. The price goes up every time I book. The mini-bus transportation, even though it requires booking, seems a bit of a free for all when waiting to board the bus, leading me to believe that the number of bookings do not match the number of seats!
location unsatisfactory bed factory eating set up
Very clean and efficient. Good service with the shuttles to the airport. The bar could have had more ambience. Seemed a little sterile
Free Wifi No ice machine
Slow checkin. Cost of car park seemed excessive charge. Comfort.
It was close to the airport and they have a 24 hr shuttle However, the shuttle was late, like 40 minutes, and we had to call twice to make sure they were coming. The room was old. Like 1975 orange couch old
Close to the airport I thought I was booked into the Crown Plaza next door. I arrived a was greeted with a smile. Since it was 10am they had no problem allowing me an early check in...then I realized my company booked me in Bewleys :( Different experience altogether..check in lady was Eastern Europe...not very friendly and recited the welcome greeting with teeth clenched. Then I asked if I could check in early having flown 25 hours. Yes for 20 pounds...OK no problem. I had already paid in advance for the hotel and because my credit card would not work in the machine I had to go and find a cash machine for 20 pounds which meant driving into the nearest town. Then was advised there was a charge for parking and breakfast! Honestly, if you are traveling long distance and prepaid your room I would like to think that for 20 pounds they could have let me had a shower first before my meeting that afternoon!! I will be staying at the Crown Plaza next time for sure. Ho, and the gym was terrible...one bike one tred mill and thats it!
Very convenient for airport and car rental. Will accept early arrivals. Excellent full breakfast. Some rooms are not up to par - smell and have been patched up. There is no air conditioning so it can be bad on a hot day. They will supply a fan, if you ask.
A great place to stay if you're flying in late in the evening or flying out early in the morning. Only a few hundred metres away from the terminals and the railway station. The service was a bit impersonal. Then again, I guess you shouldn't expect much if you're only staying for one short night.
Fantastic location, modern rooms with decent beds, noon check out, very affordable price point. Would definitely stay here again. A little bit more information about the room would have been nice; maybe it's intuitive to others but I didn't realize I needed to put my card into a slot when I first walked in, or that the shower fan was controlled along with the thermostat, etc.
Great for the various Manchester Airport terminals. I stayed in the business class rooms which provides access to the upper floor lounge which was calm and nice views over to the airport terminal. Quiet rooms - so well rested before flight. Never can get my stay put on Lufthansa Miles and More loyalty program. What is wrong with these hotels and their airline partners?
Convenience to the airport terminals and the efficiency and friendliness of the staff. Car parking was awkward and the prices in the restaurant and bar were very high. We arrived late and there was nothing reasonably priced to eat.
The location was perfect for an early flight out of Manchester. The staff was very friendly, which to me is the important part of any hotel stay. The place was clean, but there was a long brown hair on the wall of the shower and a really funky smell in one of the pillows, like mold and sweat. Not pleasant, luckily there were three other pillows available.
Super close to the airport, clean, comforatable. Perfect if you're traveling, otherwise there are better options location wise in Manchester!
no hot water in shower
This was the perfect place to stay the night before my flight. Comfortable, clean hotel with perfect airport location.
The service was excellent. We were aided a number of times by Dean, part of your staff. It seemed to need a fresh look. Floors and carpets looked used and old.
Radisson Blu is well attuned to international travelers from the architecture to the amenities it provides. The ease of accessing the airport made it the perfect pre-flight hotel.
Hotel is just a few minutes away by foot from terminal 1 and the railway startion via a covered walkway Irritating that the batteries on the TV remote control were flat and the TV itself was perched on top of the wardrobe, no programme guide available.
location room was a bit tired
Clean quiet beautiful room. Friendly efficient staff .. Best night of sleep in my entire journey
Excellent location. Directly connected to the train station and terminals via closed overhead walkway. Expensive restraurant, but it is at the airport and it is in England.
Nice setting and location, good breakfast and friendly staff. Needs investment certain things looking old now, my first stay years ago was very impressive it seems more like a 4 star now and the little touches aren't there like before.
All the staff were friendly and helpful and the room was fantastic with everything we needed
cleanliness, attentiveness of staff when required, decor, closeness for requirements of city shops and arena for concert pool change area is small, there was a hen party there for the day getting treatments in the spa and there were no lockers available so we had to take everything into the pool area! Lifts were a problem- a number of us (guests) had encoutered room cards that didn't work in lifts- my mother who I was travelling with hates lifts and we got stuck!
the hotel was lovely and the room very comfortable with lovely facilities we were on room only as that was the special rate we got but we didn't have breakfast as it was far too expensive
The cleansers were super nice people Dear Madame. Because of your totally unacceptable behaviour, to our Guests and Staff, we will no longer be accepting any further bookings from you, and indeed you are not welcome at all in this Hotel . No further correspondence from yourself, will be responded to from Edwardian Hotels. Stephen Miles FIH MI General Manager T: +44 (0) 161 835 8957 M: +44 (0) 797 3128852 E: email@example.com W: edwardian.com We booked a suit got there realized it was small, stayed 2 nights and took an extra room.Day 3 we booked a two bedroom suit which really isn't it's just them bringing two rooms together. We were shown a suit with a balcony & since my artist is super claustrophobic and has a lot of luggage we agreed to that.Upon going to pay they claimed someone booked that particular room for 2 nights and we booked it right with them less than an hr ago for 3 nights. These super racist hotel people just because the person was black almost even lied they never showed us the room.We left the hotel and booked a huge 3 bedroom penthouse suit somewhere else.Mind u we had no issues we these people we just decided to leave after realizing it was more of a racist thing, I forgot to mention their services suck, they barely help with anything like umbrellas and opening doors smh we never even had a conversation with any one except the manager the day we left but go this email today claiming we were rude to their guests.
The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was first class.
We were made very welcome during our stay and nothing was too much trouble. -
Staff were exceptional, service excellent. Standard of toiletries in a five star hotel was not as good as I expected.Shower was not great.
Modern "boutique" feel to decor & rooms. Central location. Decent leisure facilities. Buffet breakfast was a bit old-fashioned and not in keeping with quality of hotel.
Clean, comfortable and convenient
Loved the location in Central Manchester. Made it very easy to get around. Opus bar was fabulous and the staff was incredibly accommodating. Room was lovely and made for a great experience.
Fantastic location! Loved the look and history. Loved the age of the hotel. Breakfast on site was a plus. Good selection, easy and started the day off right. The booked us in an ADA room and that was all they had. The room was spacious and bed was comfortable but the shower was awful and the sink was too low if you stand at it. I felt terrible taking a very well equipped ADA room and it was not super comfortable for tow very tall adults.
the building and public areas and the function i attended at the hotel 2 days before my stay i received a call from the hotel cancelling my reservation for myself and my 6 guests due to overbooking. after a lot of difficult conversations my reservation was reinstated the next day. This is completely unnaceptable and caused a lot of concern
The room was very impressive and comfortable. Also, there was a lot on offer for breakfast.
I liked the lay out of the room and the hotel is nice. Perfect location. Its 2014, u can offer free WiFi. 99% of hotels do
Luxurious room, furnishings and curtains etc.
Comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Old fashioned tv. Very few luxuries in the bedroom/bathroom.No shower cap or hair conditioner for my wife. A little disapointed with the breakfast set up in the morning. We normally have one person waiting table but that didnt happen, just people wandering around.
beautifull building, restaurant and reception very beautifull, good location bad aisles, labyrinth to reach the room, room old fashion
The bar/restuarant Being woke at 3am due to rail works directly outside my bedroom window
the fact west ham won at old trafford ! jokes apart the service and freindly approach of all the staff no
most comfortable bed i have ever slept in! successful fusion of old an new styles.. the sink was blocked and i forgot to tell them - room 203
The staff were quietly efficient and helpful. Found traffic noise a little overbearing. Booking my meal on line proved not to be value for money as our meal was less that that stated on line, but we still had to pay original price.
the staff. the room.the breakfast we only stayed one night everthing was good
Large room with lots of storage space and all facilities in good working order, including Freeview tv and free WiFi Internet. Good food and good service.
helpfull staff ,clean ,great room, big en suite no
Very good overall.
The location is good within 5 minutes walk of a clients office, the rooms are always clean and tidy and I know what to expect when staying at any Premier Inn The food and service at the adjoining restaurabt is below par
very comfortable and central to attend a family wedding The room was very clean. However, there was a bad smell of urine in the bathroom. However, I do not think that this was down to the cleaner.
Friendly staff, comfortable bed. Musty damp smell in the room.
REception was very good as we had booked a different Lodge from that we intended and it was sorted out speedily. The staff were very friendly and tried to sort out problems quickly. The resturant was not famiy friendly, It closed early in the evening when we were staying in the hotel this would have ben inconvenient if it was the only access to food we had. They charged soft drink price for milk when we needed it for a child and for coffee as we dislike the "jiggers". There were no towels in the room when we arrived. The bed felt like a trampoline and bounced when either of us got out during the night. My son had a single room but the bed felt as if it were ridged down the middle of whatever side of the mattress he tried to sleep on, so luckily he was able to use the sofa bed, or he would not have been able to drive. He was offered an alternative room but it was too late by then. There were inadiquate supplies of coffe in the room but the tea nd jiggers of milk were plentiful, I do not drink Tea nor do I like that sort of milk. A small fridge would have been useful for us and also for my daughter who had a young child with her. We later stayed at a 3 star hotel in the middle of Warwick we had a 6f00t wide bed with a good mattress, shower soap and body wash, Full breakfast was included all for £60.00 per night. So you could do better. P.S. the bbc on site facilities vans came in at 10.00 pm on Thursday night and spent an hour and a half sorting out where they were going to put their vehicles, huge things bigger than articulated lorries, surely they could have come in earlier and not disturbed people wanting to sleep.
The room had not been cleaned for a long time, it was thick with dust evrey where.
The people on reception excellent,i cant really say that about the staff in the bar though The bar staff
We have often stayed at this hotel, and this in itself seems a good enough recommendation. We find it comfortable and easy of access for our disabled needs Small problem with stairs to dining section.Disabled lift seemed rather daunting!
friendly staff and easy access to manchester
Easy check in /check out service. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were polite and efficient and also helpful.the location of the hotel leaves a lot to be desired. Location
very friendly bathroom floor was slightly damaged
The bed was honestly the most comfortable bed ever. and breakfast was lovely was perfect for my needs. Other than fire alarm going after in the middle of the night due to someone smoking in there room.
Polite, Cheerful & Helpful staff Noise from nearby airport
I asked to change rooms as the first had not been aired for some time and smelt very stale. There was also a rat outside the front door when I arrived.
Good location, value for money and good pub next door for evening meal.
Very close to rail station with good access to airport. Quiet, well appointed. Good simple restaurant. None
Friendly reception Airplane noise
it was very convenient to where we needed to be
Very handy for airport yet very quiet; good restaurant attached.
Rally attentive and pleasant reception staff,(Nadine booked us in and was most helpful). We had a light meal in the Beefeater restaurant and again the young ladies who served us were very good. The only problem was the absence of a lift to the first floor. (Nadine did ask if we required help!)
Staff was nice, room old but clean The awfull smell in the corridors, the shabby carpets and furniture
friendly service, clean and comfortable room, fresh cooked food poor signage to the restaurant
The rooms are very comfy & spacious, good environment to relax in and the food served at the restaurant was excellent. When I got to my room - I went to close the curtains and in doing so had to move one of the sofa chairs, as I moved it the front left hand legal collapsed. The shaving socket was also cracked, these are small points but the hotel looks great in terms of decor, design and I did mention these to point to a staff member.
Large bedroom and bathroom Bedroom could do with more drawer space
The staff were very helpful and the room was excellent. We had to queue for breakfast due to lack of tables ready
The friendless and helpfulness of the staff and attention to detail. The rooms are very comfortable and relaxing. I particularly like the IPod docking station and the fact that there is a speaker in the bathroom to ensure a relaxing bath! It was easy to travel to men Arena and I can't wait to stay with you again! Thank you The only small thing was that there were a lack of toiletries in the bathroom - 1 small bottle of shampoo and the flanel and my personal flanel was taken from the room on the morning of day 2 and not replaced
Location and room quality The Bathroom smelt of raw sewage. I have already been in contact with Macdonalds Customer Service about it.
Everyon was so friendly and helpful. Beautifully clean and decorated thrtoughout. Rooms were first class. We were a bit concerned with, what seemed like, dozens of people milling around everywhere in evening dress, and we thought, if there were party functions going on we'd be disturbed by noise but we needn't have worried at all as everything was fine. The only negative side, which has nothing to do with the hotel itself, was that, once we had parked the car (behind Picadilly Station), no-one we asked seemed to know where the hotel was / how to get to it!! (Even a couple of policemen didn't know?? So, signage would be useful for future travellers. (One small point - when we rang to say we had would be ariving late & where should we park, the receptionist said the hotel car-park was full so to park behind the station. On arrival we discovered that the Travis Street car park, just behind the hotel, had loads of room so we had to go back and retrieve our car from the station car park. A bit annoying but not the end of the world!
Location and newness no
The hotel was excellent. Great room, great facilities and great staff. The only very small niggle was the slow lift.
Location and room atmosphere Homeless camping across from the hotel, front of most room windows
We stayed only for one night, specifically to go shopping and have a night in Manchester, so unfortunately we didn't get to use the spa facilities. However, I use my local McDonald hotel for spa and gym purposes, so I know that it would have been good.
Completely comfoprtable and centrally located. Large room. Prices in Britain are high -- that is a fact of life -- and the Midland is expensive -- but I really am not complaining. It was proably the most comfortable hotel we stayed at in a 3 week visit to the UK.
I have stayed here several times, excellent location, top class facilities. only minor fault is prices in bar, but I guess this has to be expected given the location / hotel
the room was amazing the price of swimming costumes was too expensive
Central location and beautiful christmas decorations Being unable to open a window for health and safety reasons. Air conditioning is noisy, un green and not as good as fresh air at night.
Beautiful building, with a very grand reception area, good customer service in the bar and bedrooms very clean and comfortable. In the hallways there are pictures/collages of interesting facts about the hotel history. Not very personal (boutique style) more corporate style of hotel.
the receptionist Kirsty was excellent.
Clean rooms and courteous staff
Great location, beautifully renovated old building great Q hotels standard and very welcoming, highly trained staff that gave you service with a smile nothing was too much trouble we certainly were very well looked after during our stay Thankyou hotel did not accept our booking for dinner at £25 rate as advertised by yourselves but after staying there we realised this was probably due to the hotel being very busy that weekend with private functions other than this we had no complaints at all
ther was noise from the next room after midnight and it took two phone calls to reception before the noise was stopped.
I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The Hotel itself is in a wonderful location for shopping.
Location, and the quietness through the night
The convenience to the station and MEN which is why we chose to stay there, its cleanliness was spot on and the bed and pillows were fantastic
Friendly staff, clean hotel, nice room, lovely food.
Loved the rooms and the tasty breakfast
Bed and bedding comfortable. Perfect location for a visit to the MEM Arena The catering staff's inability to understand basic english, very difficult to communicate.
The location of the hotel for concerts in the MEN is excellent. Nice to be able to eat in the hotel late in the evening. Limited menu but what e had was good,
Central location and local transport links. Only 2 minutes walk to main shopping area. Breakfast was a bit disorganised. They regularly ran out of items such as bread, butter, marmalade, juices, cereals etc.
It was very central for the MEN and for shopping and the leisure facilities were brilliant
Excellant modern hotel. Friendly staff 1 person dealing with checking out on a sunday morning after a full hotel the night before due to a big concert
Excellent breakfast, nicely designed rooms Rooms weren't as clean as they should have been, Bar staff were very unprofessional
Chosen only due to its relative comfort and city position. No redeeming features. Lack of breakfast - given the inflated city room price.
the hotel looks run down and in need of full refurbishment.
No problems or issues, got what I paid for. Seemed a little short staffed and undermanned at times
Made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble by the staff. The cars parked on the main road in front of the hotel entrance. This made is dangerous and difficult to see oncoming traffic when leaving the hotel car park. The cars should be stopped from parking in front of the hotel as soon as possile, as they are causing a dangerous hazard to safety and could cause an accident..
nothing in the first room the toilet leaked bathroom covered in water, no one answered phone on reception so had to go down,no apology from staff moved to another room with leaky taps in bathroom room smelt of paint badly bedding still had plastic price labels then whilst in room someone else was also given the room key much to our surprise when they tried to enter the room, fire alarms went off in room early next morning
Value for money and ease of reaching town
good large car park good value the hotel is in need of a spruce up the rooms look a little tired
the distance to the nearest public transport . the receptionist was not a bit helpful. She made me feel like a fool for not understanding how i was going to get into the city. On signing out a man was working in reception and he was so helpful. I wasted so much money getting into manchester the long way.maybe they have an organisation with the taxi service and like ripping off customers.
TV no working correctly (no BBC1), room smelt of stale smoke
overall for what i paid it was good value for money the room wasn't very clean - there was food on the floor, the bath wasn't cleaned on the outside and the recxeption never answered the operator line although waited 10 minutes on each occasion.
Close to bus routes. Good leisure facilities Didn't find the staff very friendly. Didn't explain anything about the hotel or its facilities
The size of the room was excellent and the quiet bar for a drink late on. The bathrooms could do with modernising
It was clean and comfy ,breakfast was very good plenty of choice ,and very handy being right in the centre of Manchester
Hotel site convenience. Pleasant staff. Breakfast.
a black tie ball was held which we attended for the price we paid breakfast wes not included
The location is excellent for the MEN Arena, Arndale shopping etc.The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. Good secure car park. Procedure for collecting car park pass is difficult especially if arriving alone and having to park on double yellow lines. Sleep was disturbed from 4:00 - 5:30 in the morning; initially thought this was guests leaving; however it seemed to be staff talking too loudly with alot of door banging.
Good room facilities, excellent bathroom, good location for shopping Conference facilities pleasant When checked in I was not told where to park in the car park so I ended up paying ncp parking charges Car park a bit lonely and passages to room very quiet and lonely for lone female
Didn't get to stay there as the event we were attending was cancelled very belatedly.
Staff friendly. Radio in room was very poor.
comfort of the rooms and been handy for the shops
Ideal location for men and a little shopping, double beds were great.
