The rooms are very spacious, and having a choice of bath and shower was important to us, good value for money, breakfast very good plenty of choice and service at breakfast excellent. confusion wether to wait at a table and wait for service or to order at the bar, felt a little bit invisible on the first evening, staff appeared to not want to serve the us, and when we asked where do we order (as a hint that we where ready to order) they told my partner it was up to him where he ordered and then quickly walked away. Wether this was due to them being busy I am not sure, however second evening was better but I did notice they where not as busy on the second evening. Breakfast staff could not have been more attentive without being overbearing they were excellent.
Polite, friendly and efficient customer service
The staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all it was a decent hotel and I would stay there again.
Good hotel, very clean with a good staff base Nothing
Friendly and helpful staff - Clean rooms.
Staff were helpful. Good freshly cooked breakfast - a welcome change from the usual buffets. Breakfast service very slow, I had been seated for 15 -20 minutes before a waiter arrived to take my order. It wasn't clear whether I should help my self to coffee or wait for service. Air conditioning made the room very cool in the evenings.
Excellent customer service topped-up a very pleasant stay. None
Attention to detail in the exceptionally well presented hotel was a real surprise from mints on the pillow upon arrival to music piped all through the bar, loos and restaurant.. The service was second to none
central location Friendly and accommodating staff good and generous breakfast Rather slow service at breakfast
The room was warm and comfortable and the reception staff were very polite and hospitable The service at breakfast was extremely slow
Nothing was to much trouble, the staff were fantastic and the food is superb. Air con in the room wasn't working and the room was quite hot.
the peace and quiet. in the confirmation it said breakfasts vary - truth - breakfast is self service in your room with what you buy yourself. this was not explained.
All fantastic, will be visiting again for more than 1 day. Loads to do on and off site. Well worth a visit. Accomodation 5*+
The room and facilities. Wasn't told at time of booking that they were in the process of changing franchises! This meant the the menu was very poor for selection and the bar had limited alchol!
Facilities in the apartments excellent standard. Grounds very well maintained. Bed very hard. Not very good sound insulation between rooms.
Fantastic value for money, great leisure facilities, amazing house to stay in for 6 people, would re-visit and highly recommend, thankyou
Location, setting, value for money
Very nice place plus there was something to keep children occupied there was crazy golf or tennis there was a swimming pool but the times for children using the pool didn't fit in with or stay. If we are back in that area again we would stay with you again and stay for longer. Found the shower hard to use but got there in the end.
The peace and quiet. Having to face the a38 everytime you wanted to get in or out.
every thing, quality cleanliness quite, peaceful
everything the cabin was gorgeous could not believe the value for money superb
Overall it was great value for money. The inclusive breakfast choice was poor.
All was good, I would recommend your hotel to friends None experienced
Very clean and comfortable
clean throughout polite staff firs t class breakfast conveniant location for town and roads comfort best hotel we have used for many years no bad comments possible
Great value for money. Excellent customer service would deffinitly go back!! Was originally put in a somking room which did smell of stale smoke. When we asked to move though it was done straight away with no problems.
Clean, presentable, friendly, good size room and bathroom, decent power shower A funny smell like bad drains from the bathroom sink
Efficent, clean, friendly None
Good location for visting freinds and family, clean and good price The only thing I would have liked is a bath in the bathroom and not just a shower!
Nothing, I couldn't wait to get out of there! I am making an official complaint. It was horrible. I turned up and the bed sheets still had marks on them! They clearly hadn't been cleaned. That is completely unacceptable and totaly disgusting. The breakfast was horrible, the scrambled egg I could only take one mouthful of cos it was so salty, you could see the crystals there was that much on it. Bacon and scrambled egg only also doesn't not consitute a cooked breakfast. My second day I actually went somewhere else for breakfast it was that bad. I also had numerous problems with the stupid key cards and had to have it replaced more than once cos I couldn't get into the room, whats wrong with a normal key!
Clean room My sink taps weren't working properly
The only thing I liked was the Breakfast on the second and third morning, on the second morning I was greeted by a very friendly lady by the name of Iva, on the third morning by a man (whos name I dinn't ask, on both these days the breakfast and service was excellent. The service of breakfast on the first day.
They had only been reopened for 2 days since refurbishment and were been experiencing teething problems - TV's not working in rooms; no newspapers delivered, several things 'off' the breakfast menu; only one bedside light; had to request second set of towels
food very good. close to golf course and river
The breakfast was great, and the breakfast waitress was extremely helpful, curteous and polite. Upon arrival on Sunday 14/11/10 there was no receptionist on the desk and I had to look for assistance. When going into the resturant for an evening meal, I had to ask a member of staff to take my order as they did not come to the table. I had a sunday roast meal and there was very little mashed potato as it appears the mash had ran out. Everytime I went up to the bar for a drink I had to go and search for a member of staff to serve me which became quite annoying. The promotion re the wine and price was also misleading. Not all the channels on the free view box worked in the room.
comfortable surroundings in restaurant and bar, decent wine selection and food was ok and reasonably priced. I had to go to the kitchen every time we wanted a round of drinks to find staff to serve us, except when the female bartender stood a metre from our table watching the tv show we had on for an hour, completely ignoring empty plates and glasses on our table. I cleared them myself in the end.
Bathrooms need updating - forget the bath just put in a good shower. Difficult with cases when negotiating stairs & through fire doors in upstairs hallway. Meals to not have to be so big. We enjoyed our stay and your staff were very pleasant. Our family reunion was fantastic & we thank you for your co-operation in that regard
the staff were frendley and it was very clean and nothing was to much trouble
Very easy to book in, and good parking. Location was away from the town centre which I prefered. Food/menu reasonable. Nice gardens and grounds alongside the river. Our room was quite small, not cramped, and overall, adequate. A bit too much of a "motel" feel about the place with little real character. Nevertheless, a good night's sleep! Nice grounds to walk around in the morning.
The ambience in the restaurant was very good and the food excellent. On the Sunday it was lovely to be able to be outside by the river and was an excellent setting. We felt the bedrooms needed freshening up - the ceiling looked very much in need of decorating and, the bathrooms are very small, but do not see short of pulling the block down and rebuilding exactly how that could be improved. The shower was OK but the noise from the radiator - gurgling and water flowing all through the night was rather disturbing.
It was close to a family party we were attending. The restaurant was attached to the hotel and the reception staff were welcoming and helpful. Despite the fact it was bank holiday weekend and the hotel was fully booked they were understaffed in the restaurant. The staff there did a sterling job but the stress was showing. This was a shame as the food when it did arrive was excellent. Also I think the price of £88.00 for a room for two was high. Breakfast was extra and as our son is 19 we had to book a room for him too. I have always booked Premier Inn because the standard of what you can expect is good, but the cost will make me look perhaps elsewhere next time.
Good selection of food at breakfast, good service. Staff pleasant and not pushy or rude. Bacon and toms were a bit cold at breakfast but really well cooked.
The only good thing is that it is close to Alton Towers Rude staff;you can hear your neighbours walking
The staff were extremely pleasant. One of our group was, regrettably, a bit embarrassing ( going to the reception wearing just a towel, loud, swearing ) The staff dealt with him totally professionally. One of the rooms had a broken window latch ( but still closed ) We were refunded £15.50 ( the price of two breakfasts ) to compensate for it. We were more than happy with that. I must have read wrong because I believed there was free internet access. It cost £12 which I thought was expensive for one night.
Room was clean and tidy. Good parking facilities. Good value breakfast. Staff very poor at explaining information such as you have to book breakfast on a weekend. Dissapointed that if we wanted to have drinks of an evening we were only allowed to sit in the bar area which consisted of 4 high stools which were already taken. Booked our room for 2 adults to find there was only 1 towel left in the room. The en-suite had approximately 1/4 of a roll of toilet tissue which wasn't re-filled through our stay. The room was right above the kitchen and the bins outside which constantly disturbed us with loud banging of the bins outside until midnight.
Very comfortable bed, good-sized room, good restaurant, easy to adjust heating, close to Alton Towers! Slightly overpowering smell of some kind of cleaning fluid or air freshener in room, otherwise all good
All the staff were very friendly, without exception, food was excellent and we liked the fact that we could order and pay for breakfast as we went along dependent on what sort of breakfast we wanted, ie, cooked or just toast and cerial etc., We loved everything
Clean, friendly staff, nice restaurant, only 10 minutes from Alton Towers. Very hot in rooms - no air conditioning and unable to leave window open because of traffic noise and we could hear the people in the room above walking around.
Excellent staff. Very confortable room. Hair dryer accessibility great. Breakfast good. Evening meal poor - not healthy enough and no healthy options available.
Impressive building - particularly when seen from the inside. Quiet surroundings and nicely landscaped gardens. Breafast is not good value for money, unless you pre-book it the night before to get a discounted price. If you haven't got much time to spare, make sure that you order your cooked breakfast as you arrive at the restaurant. No wi-fi. Choice of tv channels rather limited.
Friendly helpful staff, good food, beautiful garden. The shower in our room didnt work and there was no one in maintenace over the Easter weekend to rectify this.
I liked the peaceful setting and the spacious car park and the little things like there being complementary water in the room. Al;so, even though there were weddings over the weekend we were not disturbed by too much noise. The hotel was obviously very busy with weddings - this meant that service was slightly affected.
The friendly atmosphere and good service despite there being a wedding in progress. The receptionist was excellent. The hot water in the bathroom would not get hot enough for me and the shower head leaked (it gave a reasonable shower depite this though)
Nice surrounding area, impressive building, everything clean and in working order. Noise and food.
The best breakfast I have ever had. The room was a good size and comfortable.
Great setting Waitress in restaurant didn't speak good English and was quite rude
Fantastic staff who were extremely helpful
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel where the staff were pleasant courteous and helpful. I stayed there last year to attend a wedding and this year to go to a party in the village hall. It was interesting to note that there was another wedding taking place on the Saturday from noon and still going strong at midnight with the staff still smiling.
Peaceful & convenient for our needs that weekend. The shower did not work - it was easier to rinse my hair under the running bath tap than to tease water out of the shower head.
Read the reviews and was nervous but no need to be as the place was mint... had a brill time..went with a group of special needs. everyone was helpful and friendly with us all. would def stay again... None was ace
a good breakfast & very friendly staff Did'nt like going through the bar to get to rooms& stairs very steep. The tv was so old & the picture was unwatchable. A hairdryer would have helped especially in this cold weather.
Clean and tidy with friendly efficient staff.
Good location The room was very old and very small. the shower was very slow running. the bed we had was very creaky and it dipped in the middle, not the best of sleeps. also breakfast finishes far too early and we missed it both mornings which was a waste. would have been better if it was available till 9.30. hotel room desperately need upgraded.
Staff friendly and welcoming. Breakfast prompt and cooked well. Light over the bathroom mirror not working (reported on leaving). Kettle not working (receptionist acquired a replacement). No decafinated coffee available at breakfast. Bulbs in 2x table lamps and room ceiling were too low a wattage to allow comfortable reading - they aslo make the room look even more dull.
Poor room heating. Preferred evening meals not available. Small car park.
The hotel was in a good position for going out for a drink on an evening. It was in the centre of the town. The hotel was dated. The beds were clean and comfortable but the rest of the room and bathroom were not clean. There was layers of thick dust on all surfaces in the bed room. The toilet was clean but had to clean out shower before getting in.
We got the best room and the bathroom was very very nice, had the best shower. They were also very nice about our late arrival. The room was old looking and the bed and floorboards were very squiky. Also our room had a church right on the other side of the road and my boyfriend said it went off every hours and woke him up, i was so tired it never woke me up though.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating to our late arrival. Breakfast staff and receptionist were all friendly. The loung bar area was in need of a good clean. The 3 piece suite was very dirty through usage and had black dirty areas on the arms. The carpet was also dirty in the ground floor rooms. The bed was old, creaking and very lumpy. The breakfast egg and bacon were particularly greasy. There appeared to be no urgency to, the clearing of tables after breakfast guests had left.
clean room and comfortable bed. Trying to find the room was difficult
The personalised welcome letter, left on the bed in readinedd for arrival. Nice personal touch. The hotel itself and the grounds are very attractive. We were unable to view any of the channels on the television due to interference, which worsened over the course of our stay. It would have taken time for an engineer to come out and by the time one arrived we would have been due to vacate. This issue was raised with a staff member who stated that she would have called an engineer had she have known. In fairness we did not mention it until the end of out 2 day stay.
The room that we were allocated was lovely and spacious and spotlessly clean. The dinner and breakfast were fine. Good to have a parking space. The flat screen television was a bit awkward as one had to sit at a particular angle to be able to see the screen, and not get that negative kind of picture, but that might just be a feature of flat screen televisions (we have a conventional one so are not used to the new ones anyway).
It is an old english style building with exposed beams. I liked the decor of my room and the fact there wasn't a straight edge to be seen.
I thought the hotel was very well presented with nice decore. The room was clean & spacious.
It was a well positioned hotel in the village of Tutbury with excellent food and very helpful staff.
Everything was great, room was beautiful v. clean, staff v. helpful can't fault a thing. Would stay again and recommend to everyone.
Friendly & efficinent staff Nothing - xcpt one minor observation the bathroom needed a bit of attention
Fantastic hotel we all really enjoyed our stay. One of our party is a head chef and he was extremely impressed with the menu and the meal. We are thinking of returning for a weekend so we can explore the local area. When we arrived we had a short wait in the main bar area to be booked in.
Close to major routes, full of character, quiet and beautiful room. None
Friendy staff, easy location for getting into Burton the next day This is an older Premier Inn, car park was across the main road. The rooms are either main road facing or beer garden facing. Both of which cause noise and on a warm evening it was not possible to have the windows open because of this. No air con but they had supplied fans in the rooms
the welcome by the staff was amazing, made to feel very at home and nothing was too much trouble. tv signal was inconsistent, but that was more due to the weather
The helpfulness of the staff, especially in the restaurant. My husband and I are both disabled and they couldn't do enough to help us without being too obtrusive or condescending. They were amazing! Also the beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept in, which for me is quite something as I am always in a lot of pain and sleep badly very. Please could you let me know what matresses, douvets and pillows you use because I would love to get the same for home! Whilst the beds were extremely comfortable, they were a bit low, which was a problem for me getting in and out. Perhaps a rail which fits under the matress, as I use at home, could be provided upon request. Also, i could not get in and out of the bath , or use the shower in the disabled facilities as I could not lift my legs over the side of the bath and the rails were in the wrong place to pull myself up into a standing position if i got in from the seating area at the back of the bath. Walk in showers, with a seat are by far the most useful for disabled people as the majority can retain their dignity by using them without having to ask for help..
the room was a good size, the bathroom clean and the bed extremely comfortable the expense of the vending machine and no toothpaste etc in bathroom
The hotel is situated on a very busy road which is a main route to an industrial estate, we had lorries and goods vehicles passing our room all night. We did not get any sleep the noise of the traffic was that bad.I Have made an official complaint to Premier Inn regarding this. As above
Easy to find. Within easy reach of Town Centre.
We had booked a room for four. I half expected the room to be compact, but it was spacious, even with four beds in it. It was clean and functional and we all enjoyed staying there. We were all looking forward to our breakfast and we weren't disappointed, the food was plentiful, of good quality and cooked well. The fact that the road it was on was quite busy. And the associated traffic noise.
Was put in a back room to avoid noise which was very considerate The shower was not very good, hardly any power
The friendliness of the staff and the modern, clean comfortable rooms No fridge in the rooms
Close to station and amenities Being unable to get out of bedroom due to faulty lock
Friendly staff, evening food no problem. Clean and reasonably fresh decoration. Very cheap Car park hard to find, no directions on booking. Room poor quality, bed low and uncomfortable, a lot of street noise all night, limited hot water in sink, Mirrors too low for a shave, light over sink not working, no lift, limited tv channels (could not get Ch 3 or 4!). Breakfast choice very limited.
The exit the morning afterwards ! Unprofessional check in bad decor and state of repair in the rooms looks like the behind the bed had not been cleaned for months
I liked the location It was close to the town centre and near to the shops The room was so small that you had to get into bed sideways and the toilet bathroom has a large step to get up into it other than that it was ok
Staff friendly Dull and cold looking. Not welcoming. Rooms terrible with a trickle for a shower that was either scalding or freezing. Breakfast was almost non existent. Would never stay there again.
Food was good and staff were very friendly the only down point was the limited menu though prices were very reasonable.
I stay regularly, alone, and love that the staff are so friendly and welcoming. They look after me so well and make me feel like a personal friend. Thankyou.
Well placed in Town and easy reach of all vacilities
Pleasant welcoming staff A little noisy at night from nightclub nearby, as so hot we had to have window open, but this can be expected in a town centre location. No problem really.
It has an excellent central location The carpet in the room, beside the bed, was badly stained. Someone had recently been stabbed to death outside the Hotel and a floral tribute left (which was a little offputting).
