A very comfortable bed having to wait in line to get a breakfast table
good customer service rooms quite small
Nice spacious room and spacious general areas staff were very obliging. Could not control temperature in room which got very hot. But in fairness that is a problem a lot of older hotels have.
It was a disaster. We could not stay. We were given a room next to their waste hold area. The window would not open because all the rubbish bins were just outside. The room was tight and horrible. We left immediately. See our comments of 'what we liked'. Terrible hotel. Needs total modernisation, as location is good. Need new staff, training, etc. avoid staying there at all costs!
The hotel was very comfortable. The service in the restaurant for breakfast was not good.
Leisure facilities £15 to pay for car parking. No mention of this until we had arrived. Staff could be a little overzealous. We received the bill for our evening meal before we had had our dessert and coffee and our table was cleared while we were getting our cooked breakfast
I liked the atmosphere, facilities and the staff who were most helpful and friendly. I did experience some problems with accessing my room with the card that was provided to me. It often didn't work and this caused me some inconvenience. I would have been much better off with a good old fashioned key! However, the staff made every effort to resolve this problem by upgrading me to a different room with a sea view. I considered this to be outstanding customer service.
old world charm but shows signs of fading service in Oscars restaurant fell well below expected standard
The buffet breakfast was superb, especially the honeycomb. Im the first room we were given the central heating was not wotking and we had to move to another room, but nobody came to help us with our luggage and we had to carry it all ourselves - not what one expects from a 4-star hotel especially as my wife and I are in our late seventies
The breakfast was very delightful, lot of choices and they do cater for vegetairans and those who use soya milk. The spa facilities were good. However, I would say that the hotel needs refurbishment and some area needs modernisation. Being told that we are limited to one towel each by one particular member in the spa club. This was not the case with other staff members.
Location was great. Very close to restraunts, parking, the Bournemouth Pier and Bournemouth Park However, if you are looking at the cheaper rooms you be better served by Premier Innnext door. Service was poor at the front desk and breakfast and breakfast whilst adequate was not at the quality I would have expected. Staff were very disjointed; my pregnant wife asked for some decaf-tea for our room and was advised "the bar might have some". Would have expected them to sort it out. Room location was in the back of beyond with stair only access. Cheaper rooms at this hotel not recommended.
Received room upgrade. Very good service
the pool and sauna .breakfast the room was an insult ,bathroom outdated and very dirty shower unfit to use . plugs loose on walls wallpaper a disgrace ,torn and dirty.
we found the location ideal for the shops and theatre. The breakfast was very good and the staff very polite and friendly. creaky floorboards and the housekeeping staff started vacumming at 8.30 in the room upstairs. Also building work taking place although this was probably reflected in the price we paid.
Decor very very tired (corridors & bathroom) It was a typical old fashioned "seaside" hotel... the bathroom hasn't been changed since the 70's (nasty pink suite) and had a mouldy/damp smell. The room also felt extremely draughty and cold, despite the heating being on! The staff were friendly enough though. So to sum up, it is OK for one night.
Welcoming staff for English speakers but noticed lack of skill at reception for foreigners ie rapid, complex sentences, given once, no body language or reference to local town map etc. I saw two foreigners bemused despite being given instructions which only I could just follow. A little bit ot raining might help! Just a friendly observation - not meaning to be too critical!
a up grad of room free of carge noizy nabbears but was lookd aferter
Central location very limited carparking hotel needs a make over, quite dated
Everyone was helpful & friendly. An ideal spot for all locations in the area.
The staff and the breakfast were superb. The bedroom smelt, believe it emminated from the mattress. Arrived late too tired not until next day the smell had ingressed into clothing. Decor poor and needs complete refurbishment.
when handing in my key the receptionist could not give me a receipt for the room have requested copy but by 6th July still waiting
This hotel offered free WIFI & Parking, and the room only cost £32! The receptionist was very helpful and friendly and I got a free room upgrade. The food in the diner was very good and well priced. Can't really work out why people were moaning, the price is fantastic and everywhere is very clean. Yes, the hotel is a bit dated but its comfortable and the cheapest around so well worth it for a short break. everyone stop moaning and pay more if you expect 5 star services At best, the floorboards outside my room were a bit creaky and there was no blind in the bathroom, which didn't particularly bother me
Location was excellent and great value for money. Luxury stay and would definitely stay again. Added bonus of being upgraded but that shows the excellent customer service provided, would definitely recommend to friends and family
yes as previous reviews - lift scary. hot water very hot and could not cool down shower. cold water warm. toilet cistern took long time to refill,
Good location, great view from room with balcony and very friendly staff.
Hotel and room clean and warm and adequate. Breakfast good Although a warning was given water took a long time to heat up (more than 10 minutes for shower) and then only luke warm
Opulent public areas, excellent staff
The bed. The view of sea. The alfresco eating around the pool The abcence of a shower. The lack of promised sauna in facilities advertised in sister hotel.
Sea view, pibic areas had been extensively refurbished. the bedrooms were not of a similar standard as the public areas and are in need of refurbishment.
Relaxed atmosphere, helpful staff, good meals and good value for money Food portions a bit small
The shower was cold,in both rooms that i booked, & the radiator did not work in room 203
The room was fantastic and very comfortable Breakfast was very disappointing, not very edible
Welcoming, convenient and comfortable. Our room needed an extra easy chair.
The staff were very welcoming and the hotel was charming. Breakfast was fantastic. I loved all of it.
We liked the warm welcome, very trusting with ongoing friendly and helpful hospitality. The room was excellent with everything provided that you would expect and more including our loverly little plot of garden we got with it. Staff where full of useful and historic information about The New Forest and you can tell they work really hard to provide the most local of produce, N/A
central, good parking, plenty of local information maps etc.available, very helpful & courteous staff, extensive choice for breakfast.
Staff very helpful on my brief stay Bed mattress and pillows a little lumpy
From the moment we arrived we were greeted with a smiling face and a pot of tea and coffee along with slices of cake. We were more than happy with the accommodation and would recommend it to our friends and family. Hope to make a return visit later in the year.
Having attended a wedding at Rhinefield Hotel your B/B was close to the location. Staff were excellent and the breakfast was superb Nothing not to like, but just one thing a light above the mirror in the bedroom area would improve the lighting
Within a one hour drive of Southampton. Parking available in front if you can squeeze your car in (we did successfully). Several restaurants are a short walk away. The room and the bathroom were comfortable and functional. The breakfast cost extra but was worth the money. Not the best English breakfast, but it wasn't bad either. Internet was solid. Watch for the cattle grates leading out of the property that keep the loose donkeys away. They have signs posted, but they are not where they should be to alert those on foot. The ceilings are low in entry ways; those 5'10 and above should duck everywhere (except in the room).
Extremely personal service - welcome with tea/coffee and home made cake (free throughout the stay whenever needed). Good information and reviews about where to eat, also walks/maps for exploring. Breakfast was locally sourced as far as possible and fairtrade if not, plus in the 'snug' local beverages available. Free posh toiletries and cotton buds/cotton wool balls/tissures in room.
Very warm welcome, superb breakfast menu. spotless accomodation, very well managed no
Beautifull place, service top quality, room top quality, food top quality : its very difficult to do much better The price of course but it is pobably in this case linked to the quality of the place.
Everything about this hotel was fabulous - the room (which was only bronze level but would be a gold the majority other hotels), the food was top notch and the spa was divine. On top of all that the hotel is in a fantastic location.
We liked the service and the fact that we were upgraded to a junior suite, even though you had to walk through the dining room to reach it. Dinner and breakfast were very disappointing and certainly not of 5-star standard. The meat was too tough and our cooked breakfast took over half an hour to arrive, although the dining room was half empty. We didn't like having dinner in the conservatory, rather than the main restaurant, as it was bleak and cold. When we had drinks in the bar, the nibbles were very poor and no napkins were provided. At our lunch in the lounge, no napkins were provided, until we asked.
We have visited before and loved the location and now we have stayed we look forward to future visits.
We enjoyed the spa and also found the attention to detail and service by the staff to be of a very high quality. We were pleased that the rate offered meant that we were able to visit a hotel we had long wanted to visit. There was nothing we did not like about the hotel. However without a reduced rate this hotel would notmally be beyond the rpice we would want to spend.
No Bath in room
Staff service, food quality. Room too warm and bed uncomfortable
Staff very friendly without being overpowering, food excellent, spa facilities very good. Overall a very relaxing weekend
the excellence of the service, the spa, location the restaurant was not up to its usual standard
Service Should have a kettle in the room
lovely hotel, great staff.good position, food very enjoyable.this was our second visit and it defenitely wont be our last!! bar prices.
Freindly & comfortable
Great staff and comfortable hotel nothing
Both the staff and food were excellent. The bathroom needs modernising.
The Hotel was excellent, within easy walking of the BIC, and plenty of parking. The staff were excellent, very friendly, and service was very good. Our room was comfortable and quiet. A super selection for breakfast, overall a most enjoyable stay.
We booked a superior room, but we would rate the room as standard. The shower was poor, the bathroom tiny, the door wouldn't lock, and overall just a standard room.
Friendly hote. Superior double was nicely decorated with little balcony- can't expect 'views' as surrounded by other hotels. Restaurant very good. Staff particularly friendly. Near enough to both prom and town. Would go back.
Meal served by friendly staff Room quite cramped
Quick and courtious service no smoking but will just have to get used to it as it will soon be law
TV did not work
Staff was excellent; when the heated towel rack in the bathroom didn't work, they upgraded our room. Bed was very comfortable. Shower was excellent (not in all rooms, but in the upgraded room). Wonderful location, with its view of the English Channel and a one minute walk to the pier. Five minutes to walk to the heart of a shopping district.
It was directly across the road from the BIC where i was heading for an event, and it was an amazing feeling being able to have an amazing night out, and then to walk across the road and come home. Room was beautiful! I loved the mirror in the bathroom. No complaints, only to say that the parking is not behind the hotel, its over the road in the shopping mall centre - however saying that, the hotel give you a key and you can park in a secluded area.
Nice room veiw, nice bed, Lovely bar! no bad experiences!
Location, comfort, cleanliness, good food and friendliness of the staff
Plasant, good dealings with staff - very satisfactory from that side of things. Room was in good condition, very clean, but so small moving around was difficult.
Reception staff friendly and helpful, good sized room, clean, excellent sea view. Lovely breakfast and attentive waiting staff. Very good location. Found a good price through booking.com
The breakfast was very good The room was in the basement so no view. had to park your car across the road not in the car park in the hotel - even though you have to pay extra. the deal you had for booking on line was the same price if you booked on the day - not really a deal!!
Very friendly and helpful staff. The room was excellent with a sea view. We would definitely stay here again and I will be recommending the hotel to family and friends. Thank you very much for a very enjoyable stay whilst I was celebrating my special Birthday!
The hotel was very clean and the location was perfect for the beach and shopping.
The Rhinefield provides everything a four star country manor hotel should do.All of the staff are first class in all respects and really helped us enjoy our stay. The hotel itself is set deep in the New forest and provides an excellent base for touring the neighbouring countryside. The food is the most modern of modern cuisine served in a beautiful dining room.
The location is fabulous and the building is beautiful. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good quality. I didn't dislike the pool but thought it was very small for such a good quality hotel.
bedroom too hot to sleep.
The food was excellent, and the room and lounge/dining areas were all of a very high standard. The only disappointment was that the health club facility was out of commission for two out of our three day stay there, but the manager was gracious enough to provide some compensation for this absence.the staff were all exceptionally helpful and the atmosphere was one of welcome, comfort and 'can do'
Beautiful room, spacious and modern, beautiful hotel in gorgeous setting. The best thing? The only hotel I have ever stayed in that provided hair conditioner so the thumbs up from me! Bed a bit hard
Tranquil surroundings/peaceful atmosphere within the hotel/good size well appointed rooms/ imposing building with elegant gardens Cooked traditional breakfast somewhat meagre and did not appear to be "fresh"/ Dining Room cool - we sat by fireplace
Everything from the location, look, facilities, food and ambiance of this hotel are superb. WE had a great time & will be going back soon.
The beautiful setting and grounds and the very large plasma TV in the room
the staff were brilliant: friendly, polite, efficient the breakfast was excellent though there was a shortage of marmalade: and thank you for producing gluten free toast, much appreciated. We also enjoyed the stunning New Forest location. bar lounge, outdoor swimming pool 9/10 (sign posting could be better) the New Forest setting was inspirational the bedroom and bathroom were cramped and stuffy the partitioning walls were very thin and didn't exclude noise from our neighbours' radio/TV the indoor swimming pool was minute
the hotel was outstanding, the pictures on your site made me book this hotel, but i was still amazed when we saw it for real. to stay somewhere like this is probably a once in a life time thing for me and my wife, and we're very glad we picked Rhinefield House. very highly recommended!
The hotel position by the sea front Piped music was very irritating
Nice location, nice bar/grill
Food good but very small meau for dinner
Too short a stay to make comments worthwhile Ordered a taxi - it didn't arrive on time and I had to ask again!
Location is great for beach, walks, cafe, restaurants and shops.
defineetly i will come again............wonderfull place,nice staff
Hotel is in a wonderful location with wonderful views and is up to the usual Marriott standard of rooms which we like and have become accustomed to and with such comfortable beds On Sunday we were shocked to hear that they had run out of most things from the bar menu because they had been busy over Xmas!!! Surely the Catering Manager knew Xmas was coming! A section of the restaurant had been closed off that night so we were unable to get a table and had to leave the hotel to go and find something to eat which was most inconvenient as my wife was not feeling too well and it was freezing outside. Also found out when having drinks at the bar that you had run out of crips/nuts for a few weeks - again surely someone can go down to the local supermarket!
Service of staff really very good.
very friendly views loveley, rooms comfortable
Quality accommodation and service.Excellent breakfast choice.
This hotel is in a beautiful location overlooking the bay with its own and other nearby Gourmet dining options.
Staff were very friendly & attentive. Food was wonderful & setting is lovely. Nothing!
Good location,food,accomodation and service
Cleanlness of room, bar and dining room. Breakfast service. Shower performance poor.
Food at dinner fabulous. Spa and massage lovely. Bed was a bit too soft. Breakfast buffet (hot food) wasn't brilliant, food not hot enough.
Workmen although stated they would not be there on a Saturday
Really nice, comfortable hotel offering friendly personal service. The choice/quality of food in the restaurant was superb, and we had a fantastic view over Mudeford harbour from our room. We have stayed before, and will definately stay again.
I loved the location by Christchurch harbour with the terrace looking out onto the water and I greatly enjoyed the spa facilities. the dinner menue was too fancy for my taste
Please write at least 15 words friendly, helpful staff. comfortable room exellent location, good choice of restauirants, and superb spa facilities Nothing
The Staff and facilities are all excellent. Three different styles of Restaurant on site all producing very good standard of food. Bedrooms are well furnished and the Oakwood style of room was large enough to accomodate a lounge area. Difficult to book times in the Restaurants that you require, even 24 hours in advance. This is not mentioned in any literature.
A place of relaxation and unintrusive but caring staff
All the staff and managment were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much for them. The restaurants were all (three of them) excellent, including the atmosphere and the food and the service and the staff were all excellent. The Spa was also excellent. It is expensive, but for a luxury treat in real comfort, you can't beat it. Nothing at all, it was all excellent - except paying for it!
Spa facilities, comfort and excellent Thai resturant.
The peace and tranquility Friendliness of staff Helpfulness no
Lovely spa facilities :o)
Spa facilties were excellent. Friendly and helpful staff. Interesting gardens. Plenty of room to sit quietly with family anfd friends.
The staff were superb, very friendly and professional. Our room was large and opened out to the garden Although the food was of a very high standard , the complimentary soup was tepid as was my stater and also it alll came way too fast
The use of the spa area
Leisure facilities were good The Connaught Lodge needs updating
The staff were very helpful. I believe you should make it clearer that this is a separate hotel to the Connaught Hotel. Our room in the Connaught Lodge was very basic and would be what I would consider a budget room. I don't consider the price I paid a budget price and was not looking for a budget room.
Close proximity to the town and conerence centre in Bournemouth
The comfortable, warm bedroom with good location and free car park. The heated towelrail in the bathroom could not be turned on as there were no knobs on the taps.
Its central location made it conveniant for shopping & walks along the beach
Breakfast was a real treat - even the most hardened traveller would be hard-pressed to find fault. We were left alone to enjoy our stay I was rather purturbed when I saw our room they have glass windows to the floor and it felt like we were sleeping in a conservatory 2 floors up!
very comforble and close to bic which we had a concert for there was a party in the funtion room below us which was noice but finnish by midnight
The breakfast was brilliant and service very good Ensuite a bit tired but for a one night stay acceptable
The Staff and location Bar snack, basic under cooked and over priced
It was the perfect location for us, with parking on site The room was quite hot as despite it being extremely warm & sunny, the hot was still on full blast.
